“Oh no oooo! Veroinca!
I shouted at the moment they shot her on the leg.
I looked at the direction of the gun to see if I will see the person that shot but I find nobody.
“My leg! Dylan my leg”
She cried out rolling on the floor as blood was pumping out like tapewater.
I squared down as i held her hand,
“Nothing is gonna happen to you,you gonna be fine okay”
I said to her in tears.
“Dylan my leg hurts badly”
She cried out.
I thought of what to do to prevent the blood from pumping out too much,I removed my cloth and tied it on her leg,it will cease the blood.
“You will be fine”
I said and carried her on my shoulder to the car.
We got in,side the car and we drove out immediately,she was crying and shouting in pains.
“Dylan I can’t handle it anymore! The pain is too much for me to bear”
She cried out.
“My sweet Vero please hang it there,nothing will happen to you okay”
I gave her my word.
“I don’t think I can bear it long,the pains is killing me and am going to die”
She cried out.
“Don’t talk about death my dear sister,think about Mom and Dad,think about our beautiful family the time we spend together and the love we share,think about your love Antionia,you got many reasons to be alive my love”
I said as I keep on speeding so fast.
I need to call Mom and tell them the situation at hand now”
I said and dailed Mom’s number it was not connection because of network coverage.
“They will be sick and worried about us”
I shouted.
Vero keep on crying and shouting in pains and I keep on giving her my word.
Finally we got to the town and drove to the General Hospital,when we got there,she was not shouting nor crying anymore.
“What’s wrong with her?
I shouted and came down to carry her out from the car.
She was not blinking her eyes,her mouth was wide open and she was breathing wheezing through her mouth.
“Nurse! Nurse!
I shouted as I rushed her in,side.
The nurse came with the wheel bed and wheeled her to the emergency room.
“No! You can’t come in”
The nurse said to me as I wanted to follow them to the emergency room.
As I was about to call Mom,her call came in,
📞 Dylan what happen? We have been calling no answering”
She asked.
📞 Mom we are at the General Hospital right now”
📞 General Hospital! What happen?
She asked confusingly.
📞 Veronica got shot”
📞Oh my God! we are coming right away”
She cried out and end the call.
The doctor walked to me and asked,
“Are you the relative of the young girl that was brought in now?
“Yes Doctor, she is my sister”
“Okay,We need to transfer her to the operation room,she need to undergo an operation to bring out the bullet”
“Okay Doctor”
“Go to the nurse over there to fill in some necessary things”
He said and pointed the nurse to me.
“Okay Doctor”
He walked and went to the fill in the things.
Fifteen minutes later,My family came including Elisa and Antioina.
“How is she doing?
They all asked with a worried face.
“The doctor have not come out yet”
“Son,what really happen?
Dad asked.
I narrated everything that happened to them as they all cried.
I don’t know why my family is going through this suffering in a day.
More fifteen minutes making it thirty minutes the Doctor came out from the operation room we rushed to him and asked.
“Doctor how is she?
We asked.
“Thank God she is not of damage,the bullet didn’t perpetrate in,side her bone”
He said as we rejoiced and thank God for serving her life.
“Can we go and see her now Doctor?
Dad asked.
“Yes but she need rest,there should no disturb,she is in room 136”
The doctor said and made his way out.
We rushed to her room with our hearts filled with so much happiness,she was so happy to see us.
“My babe girl,how are you doing?
Mom asked car-ssing her hair.
She smiled and said,
“Am fine but my leg still hurts”
“You gonna be fine okay”
Dad said and gave her a k-ss on the cheek.
“What of Grandma Lolita? Why is she not here with you guys?
She asked.
“Grandma Lolita wanted to come but we stop her because of her health but she send a lot of k-sses to you”
Reina said and she smiled.
“Let me go and see the doctor”
Dad said and went out.
We gisted,telling a funny stories to make her to feel happy,Dad came back and said,
“The doctor said you will be discharge in three days time and you will be coming for proper check up on Mondays and Tuesdays until the wound is finally heal”
“It’s getting late,I think we all have to go and rest but I will stay and watch over her tonight”
Mom said.
“Aunt you also have to rest so I will take the responsibility of watching Vero tonight”
Reina said.
“Are you sure gonna the strength to do that?
Mom asked.
“For sure I got a enough strength in me”
I sounded with smiles.
“Okay then! We will see you tomorrow morning my dear”
We hugged her and k-ssed her on the cheek before leaving the room.

At the moment they left,Antionia came back to the room.
“You haven’t gone?
I asked him.
“How can I go without giving you a proper good bye?
He asked with smiles that made me to blushes.
“I guess I have to excuse myself for this loving couple to have their little time”
Reina smiled and uses the door.
He helped me to rest my head on the pillow and sat beside me,
“My love am so happy to see you,did you know I was heart broken when the kidnappers kidnapped you,I was thinking that I won’t be able to see you again”
He said and gave me a k-ss on the l-ips.
“Did you know who the kidnappers are?
“No my love,their blindfolded me,at first i thought it was Sophia until the kidnappers called for ransom”
I said.
“It’s well,thank God you are back with us so my love how are you feeling right now?
He asked starring at my bandaged leg.
“Am feeling good but the leg still hurts me badly”
I said.
“I wish I had a magic wand to make it go away,I’d wave my scepter over you until you were okay”
He said and k-ssed me.
“That’s so sweet of you my love”
“You know what,I want you to be the sky above you,Blue soft be the road below you,Affection be the breeze around you and I pray all the happiness surrounds you,Get Well Soon my love”
He said and hugged me so tight.

“I will come and see you tomorrow morning okay”
He said and I nodded my head.
We k-ssed so deep before he leaves the room,Reina walked in at the moment he left.
“Sis you haven’t tell me about your cute boyfriend why?
“Nothing! I was actually going to tell you about him before this happened to me”
“Okay,is he the same guy that you always stares at his pics all the time?
“Yeah!
I replied with smiles written all over my face.
“How did it happen Sis?
She asked being so excited to hear about it.
I explained everything to her without missing anything.
“Sis did you know that Antioina was the same guy I met four years ago at the hospital room who was scared of Injection?
“Are you damn serious!
She sounded.
“Yes Sis,I was not able to recognized him when I met him,he was the one that reminded me about him”
“Wow! This is lovely! That means You two are really destined to be together,am so happy for Sis”
She said and hugged me.

We talked for a while before I slept off.
In the morning,Reina brought a bouquet to me attached with a letter.
“Someone’s heart brought a bouquet for her”
She said with smiles and gave it to me.
“Mmmmmmmh! It’s smells nice”
I said as I perceived the scent of the flower.
“What did the letter says?
She asked happily.
I opened the letter and read,
“My dear love Your absence has not just left your cubicle empty, but our hearts empty too,Sweetheart, please get better soon,Why? Because I want to k-ss you, hug you and hold you tight. I love you! Get Well Soon my love,I will not be able to come and see you today but just know i will forever be in your heart”
I was blushing while reading the letter even Reina keep smiling.
“He is so sweet Vero!
Reina sounded with smiles.
“Yeah! That’s why I love him the more”
I said.
“Let me go to the cafeteria and get you food,Aunt Anne called they will be on their way”
“Okay Sis”
She went out to get the food.

Diego called me to have a drink with him since it has been a while we hanged out together.
I met him at our usual bar,
“So nice to meet you my love”
He said and hugged me.
“Am so happy to see you too”
I said with smiles and sat down.
“What will care to drink?
“I will take Margarita”
I said.
He called the waiter and told him what I care for,within a few minutes he brought the glass of Margarita to me.
“I have miss you so much,We have not seen for sometime now,what happen?
He asked.
I narrated everything to him which he got so upset about it.
“All that happen and you did not care to tell me,Why Diego?
He asked being a little angry.
“Because I don’t want to stress you about my family problem”
“Stress! What did you mean by stress? How can my love’s problem be a stress to me? I don’t like it Dylan, you are so important to me and everything involved with your family is also important to me”
He sounded still angry.
I car-ssing his hand and apologized to him,
“Okay,Am sorry for not informing you”
“It’s okay but next time if anything happen inform me don’t let me to feel left out okay”
He said.
“Okay,I won’t do it again”
“So how is your sister now?
“She is fine,she will be discharge later in the evening and we want to throw a little welcome home party for her so you are invited”
I said.
“It’s cool,I will be so glad to be there”
He sounded with smiles.
We drink gisted,talked about our love story until he got a call from the office.
“I will like to go now my love,it’s very urgent”
He stood up and said.
“Okay dear!
“Let me drop then I can rush down to the office?
“Don’t bother dear,since is very urgent from the office I will go with a cab”
“Okay,see you in the evening”
He said and hugged me.
“See you too!
I said.
He drop the payment on the table and rushed out from the bar and I walked out too.
Got a cab and went straight to the house.

It’s three days now,I have been discharged, Dylan and Reina came to take me home,I was given a crutch that will help me to walk.
When we got home,I was so surprised of what I saw,the house was decorated with beautiful colours of balloons and Welcome home Vero was written boldly on the wall,everyone were at present even my love Antioina.
“Welcome home Vero!
They all shouted in joy.
“Thank you so much,am very surprised”
I said with so much joy.
“Sis you didn’t tell me they are planning a welcome home party for me,why”
“Because is a surprise party”
“Even you Dylan,you didn’t tell me a little about this”
“I don’t want to ruin the surprise”
“What are they standing there for? Come in,side let’s celebrate”
Dad shouted.
We went in,side and I hugged everyone of them,
“I missed you so much Grandma Loilta”
I said.
“I missed you too my sweet Vero”
She said and hugged me again.
“Let move to the dinning to have the delicious food our great chef Reina prepared”
Mom said.
As we were about to move to the dinning a knock came from outside.
“Are we suspecting someone?
Mom asked.
“Yes,that should be my guest”
Dylan said.
“Wow! You invited my girlfriend too”
I said to him.
“Not my girlfriend! Beside is he and not she”
He said and went to open the door.
The guy came in looking so handsome and rich,We all stared at him.
“Good evening everyone!
He greeted us with smiles.
“You are welcome!
We replied back with smiles.
“My lovely people meet my friend Diego and Diego meet my family”
He said introducing us to him one by one with our names.
“It’s my pleasure to meet you all”
He said.
“You are welcome Diego”
Grandma welcomed him.
“How are you feeling now Veronica?
He asked me.
“Am feeling better”
“That’s good to hear”

“Can we now move to the dinning before the food gets cold?
Mom said.
We all moved to the dinning to enjoy our delicious food.
After the food,we gisted,played some games like singing,dancing and asking riddles before our guests went back to their various houses.
My welcome home party is the best party ever.

“It has been a week since the wicked Governor demolished the shops,we can continue being at home without doing anything and allow the situation to weigh us down,we need to stand like a giant we are and suggest on what to do to make a living”
I said after having our dinner.
“That’s exactly what was on my mind too,We are the Pons family we shouldn’t let the circumstances to defeat us rather we should stand and defeat the circumstances”
Grandma said.
“Then what business should we start with the little we have”
Uncle Rafael asked.
“I suggest we should open a food truck eatery”
I said.
“A food truck eatery!
They all sounded.
“Yes! It will not cost us that much,it will be a family business and I will be the chef”
I said.
“That’s a great idea Reina”
Aunt Anne said.
“How are we going to start with the preparation and the most important one is how to get the truck?
Uncle Rafael asked.
“As for the truck,I have already arranged it,Mr Philip has agreed to lend us his truck since he is not using it,we will go to the market at the town to buy some necessary equipment we need with the little money we have”
I said.
They all agreed with the decision and started planning what to cook on our first day,what the menu will be and how much each food will be.
