Fred stood outside Eva’s door with a teary eyes,
“How could you do this to me Eva? Why the heart break? Where have I gone wrong to offend you that you choose to hurt me this way?
He said in tears.

Sophia came down of the cab and saw him,
“Fred!
She said and rushed to meet him.

“Fred!
She said.

“Even you Sophia, how could you do this to me? Why didn’t you tell me about Eva’s journey? or did she tell you not to inform me about it?
He asked looking so pale.

“No Fred! I called you to let you know about it but you were busying my call then I sent you a voicemail”
She said.

“Are you serious? But I didn’t get voicemail nor even see your miss calls”
He said being so surprised.

“Like seriously! that’s means someone tamper with your phone then”
She said.

“I know very well that Eva doesn’t have any relative in New York,how come that she is there?
He asked.

“Did you mean to tell me that Boboy didn’t tell you about traveling to New York with Eva?
She asked confusingly.

“Boboy took Eva with him and he didn’t tell me about it knowing very well that I need to see Eva and fix back our relationsh¡p,I even called him this morning and still he didn’t say anything, this Is unbelievable! I thought he is my friend,how could he hide such thing form me?
He shouted angrily.

“Maybe Eva told him not to inform you about it since she want to distance herself from you”
She said.

“Sophia you gonna help me out,I need to see Eva,I need to talk to her,you know I can’t live with her in my life please did you know the part of New York she traveled to so that I can go and look for her?
He pleaded with his hands folded.

“Fred I can’t lie to you I don’t know the part of New York she is”
She said.

“Okay did you know how long she will be staying there?
He asked.

“She has gone to achieve her dreams there so it meant take her a year or more than before coming back”

“More than a year! That’s so long,I don’t think if I can be able to stay for that long without seeing her nor even hearing from her so Sophia you have to help me out to find out the part of New York she is so that I can go and look for my love”
He sounded.

“I can’t promise you about getting the address but I will try my best okay”

“Please you have to,am dying to see her and am incomplete with her,I don’t know if you really understand what am going through”
He said.

“I really understood Fred and I will try to get the address okay,I will be going in,side now, take care”
She said and hugged her.

“I will be expecting to hear from you,you are the only hope I have now please don’t let me down”

She stood and watched him walked to his car,
“Look at how broken he is,Eva shouldn’t have taken this nasty decision,I feel so pity for him your heart being broken by someone that mean the whole world to you is so painful and unbearable”
She shooked her head and went in,side the house.

It has been a year Eva travelled to New York and Fred has not gotten the chance to talk to her, Sophia tried and gave him Eva’s number but when he called her Eva made it clear to him that he should stop wasting his time on her and move on because she won’t come back to him again and the love and feelings she once has for him has been buried at the cemetery.

Since then Fred became more heart broken then before,he longer go to work nor do anything that concerns work he keeps drinking and drinking to stupor turning himself into a drunkard,the bar became his office,people couldn’t believe that a responsible and respective owner of the Perez Enterprise will turn out to be a drunkard and ruining his reputation all In the name of heart break.

His present condition got his parents off balance that they tried everything to stop him from destroying his life and the reputation of the Perez family but all to no avail.

“Drinking again Fred!
Anne shouted and dragged the bottle of tequila from him.

“Where are you taking my drink to?
He shouted.

Anne rushed to the bathroom and Fred followed her behind.

“Give me back my drink”
He shouted trying to drag the drink from her.

“I won’t give it to you,enough of this rubbish,did you want to kill yourself Fred”
She shouted angry and poured the drink on the sink.

“Why did you pour my drink? Don’t you know this drink is my companion?
He shouted.

“What kills someone can never be a companion,I don’t like what you are doing to yourself,why can’t you move on and forget about Eva it’s almost a year,drinking to stupor won’t do any good rather it will destroy you,Eva is not worthy of any of this at all”
She said to him as they went back to the bedroom.

“Anne how will I move on when my heart still beats for Eva? How will I move on when my heart has refuses to stop loving her? tell me how?
He said.

“Very simple,with me in your life you will move and forget about that Eva,you know I love you and till now am still in love with you,am dying to be In your arms and am dying to feel your warm touch”
She said.

She used her index finger car×ssing his face,
“Can’t you see am dying to have you? can’t you see my body is yawning for you?
She said and wanted to k!$s him about Fred stopped her.

“Don’t do this Anne,you are like a sister to me”

“But am not your sister,I love you so much Fred,don’t you think Is the right now for us to be together? Don’t you think we will make a great couple and have a beautiful kids”
She said with smiles and still car×ssing his face.

“Anne I got no feelings for you,I only love you like a sister and nothing more”
He said.

“I don’t mind just allow me to love you and I know in a matter of time you will grow to love me too,please Fred allow me to feel the warm touch of your body”
She pleaded and wanted to k!$s him again but he stopped her.

“I can’t do this Anne,I still need to time to heal of my heart break so if you won’t mind I need to left alone”
He said and sat down on the couch.

“No problem,have all the time you need but just know that someone that loves, cares and dying to be with you see here for you, take care and please stop killing yourself with drink,I will see you tomorrow”
She said and k!$sed him on the cheek.

He said and Anne uses the door.

Fred went to the cupboard and brought out another bottle of tequila and started drinking to stupor.

Mr Perez ( Fred’s father) was coming down from the stairs he slipped and fall,he shouted and rolled from the stairs to down.

Fred’s mother heard the shout and rushed out,she found her husband lying down on the floor.

“Oh my God! My husband! My husband! Guards! Guards!
She cried out for help.

The guards rushed and took him to the car,they drove to the hospital immediately.

Meanwhile,Fred was at his usual place at the bar drinking while the mother has been trying to reach him but he refused to answer.

She gave Anne a call and she rushed to the hospital immediately,

“Mother how is he doing? What did the doctor say?
She asked being so worried.

“I have not hear from the doctor, they are still at the emergency room”
She said in tears.

“Mother what of Fred? he supposed to be here?

“I have been calling him but he is not answering,he need to be here with us”
She said with a teary eyes.

“Don’t worry mother,I will try to reach okay, What happen to Mr Perez?
She asked.

“He slipped from the stairs and now I don’t know the condition of my husband”
She cried out.

“Mother don’t worry nothing will happen to him,he will be fine okay”
She hugged her.

Anne called Fred but he is not answering,
“Answer the damn phone!
She shouted angrily.

Meanwhile,Fred saw the call and shouted,
“Why are this people disturbing me? First it was mother and now Anne,Why can’t they allow me to drink to my satisfaction”

She called him again and this time the answering machine answered,
📞 This is the voicemail record your message”

📞Where the hell are you Fred? You need to rush down to the hospital immediately your father’s health is critical”
She said.

Twenty more minutes the doctor came out from the emergency room and with the look on his face you will know that something terrible has happened.

“Doctor how is my husband?
She rushed him.

The doctor kept quite probably don’t know how to expose the news to them.

“Talk to me Doctor,where is my husband”
She asked again in tears.

“Mrs Perez please calm down”
He said.

With that statement”calm down” Anne realized that something bad has happened.

“Doctor don’t tell me to calm and tell me where my husband is”
She cried out.

“Please Doctor will you let the cat out of the basket and tell us what has happened to Mr Perez”
Anne said.

Doctor breathed and said,
“Mrs Perez we try our best but we couldn’t recover him back am sorry we lost him”

On hearing that awful news,Mrs Perez cried out,
“What did you mean? Don’t tell me that,where is my husband Doctor? Where is my husband”

“Am so so sorry Mrs Perez,please take heart”
He said and made his way to his office.

She cried and cried and find it so difficult to believe that her husband is no more,Anne keep on consoling her in tears.

Being one of the popular and richest man in the city they have to inform the press to announce his demise but now his only successor is nowhere to be found.

Three hours later,they have not heard form Fred and the press has been contacted,they broadcasted it on the television and radio too.

At the bar,people were watching the news and also watching Fred too,Fred didn’t know what was going on until a guy walked up to him.

“You are here enjoying with your drink why your family is mourning”
He said.

“What nonsense are you taking about?
He shouted with a drunkard voice.

“Are you not Mr Perez’s son? Is that man not your father?
He said pointing at the television.

Fred saw the news and his eyes cleared off,
“Oh my God! Oh my God!
He shouted in shocked and rushed out immediately without paying for the drinks.

He drove to the hospital and by the time he got to the hospital,he met his mother and Anne coming out.

“Mother what happen? Where is Dad?
He shouted.

“Where have you been Fred? What type of a son are you? You went out drinking when we needed you the most and your father struggled and fight for his life until he gave up”
She cried out.

Fred cried and pleaded to be forgiven towards his reckless life and for not been at the hospital with his mother.

“Oh my God! Fred’s father is died,this is unbelievable! I need to inform Eva about this”

She called Eva and she picked with wasting time.

📞 Hey bestie,I was about to dial your number before your call came in”

📞 Bestie I got a bad news for you”

📞 Bad news! How Is mother? What’s wrong with her?
She shouted being so worried.

📞 Calm down Bestie,is not your mother”

📞 Thank goodness, what’s the bad news all about?

📞 Fred’s father is dead”

📞 What? What did you mean? How? What happened to him?
She shouted In shocked.

📞 They said he slipped and fell from the stairs,they rushed him to the hospital but couldn’t make”

📞 Oh my God! this is indeed a bad news,I wonder how Fred will be feeling right now”

📞So bad,I think you should call him and sympathy with him”

📞 I will like to but I can’t call him”

📞 Why did you say so girlfriend?

📞 Fred now hates me so how will he pick his enemy’s call”

📞 Try first bestie and stop concluding,I want you to call him right now so I will be ending the call”

📞 My regards to mother,I will call you guys later in the day”
She said.

📞As soon as the call went off call him”
She said and hanged up.

Eva stared at Fred’s number on his phone thinking if she should call him or not.

“I will like to call and know how he is doing but I don’t know if he will answer”
She thought.

“I guess I have to try my luck”
She said.

She dialed the number and it started ringing but Anne is with the phone, the number was save with “My heart beats for Eva”
“Why is she calling her? I have to give her a serious warning right away”
She mumbled and sighed.

She went up to the room to answer the call,
📞 Is that you Fred?
Eva asked.

📞You are speaking with his fiancee Anne and I want to officially thank you for leaving a such caring,loving and handsome man for me and also to warn to stop calling my fiance,Fred is no more yours he is now mine,we love each other and we will soon be getting marry,don’t try this number again nonsense”
She shouted and ended the call.

Eva dropped a bombshell,she couldn’t believe all she heard,
“So Fred has moved on already and even getting marry”
She said in tears.
