CHAPTER TEN: JOURNEY TO ATLANTIS.

Avalon has longed been recommended as the best kingdom in the seven world kingdoms. But what about Atlantis?

Lady Itzel greeted her families her last good bye hoping to meet them some other time. Definitely on the day she would be getting married to Prince Arthur.

She entered into the well decorated carriage which had come all the way from Atlantis to Avalon personally for her.

No doubt, all this were done by Prince Arthur.

Queen Eleanor didn’t stop from waving at the moving carriage until she was sure that it was out of sight.

She knew she was going to miss her the most. Despite how stubborn Itzel has been since she was little and how less concerned she has been towards royal lifestyle. Yet, she still loves her the most.

And now she was leaving to spend the rest of her life with her new families, she knew a huge part of her was leaving.

Who was going to replace those spaces Itzel has left in her heart?

She sighed before walking back into the palace.

Opening the door, she saw Hazel seated on Itzel’s bed. She held the bedsheet to her chest, silently weeping.

“I really am going to miss her.” Hazel said.

“We all are going to miss her.” Said Queen Eleanor from the door.

“I never recognized her as a sister from the start. I always believed Honoria has been right about her. I saw her a sister from the street. But you know what they always say? You won’t know how much you love someone until you stop seeing them anymore. She is the best sister I have. Always there for me, but I wasn’t there for her. And now that she is gone, I feel like I am all alone here.” She cried.

“You don’t have to blame yourself for your past, you were only doing it because you thought it was right.”

“Itzel never fought back no matter how hΓ¦rd we try to make her life miserable. She always endured, tolerated and still loved us. What kind of sisters were we?”

Queen Eleanor sighed softly. “No matter how far she is from us, I know she will always remember you for the few months you have spent with her. I wish I can get the same version of her but… I know it will be impossible for me. I miss her too.”

Hazel squeeze the blanket to her nose, inhaling Itzel’s scent in it.

“You can have it if you want. At least something that can remind you about her.”

“I will have it.” She said, resting on her mother’s shoulder.

Honoria has decided to speak not a word to anyone. Since the night of the ball dance, she has locked herself in her chambers. And it’s almost four days she has had something to eat.

Elizabeth and the rest of her sisters has been kept bothered. Nothing they have said has she listened. King Alfred has tried talking to her but she ended up asking him to leave her room.

~*~At Atlantis~*~

The carriage stopped at the great building of Atlantis where King Cyrus, Queen Anne and Prince Arthur stood to welcome her.

She got down, her eyes first studying her new environment. She had been here years ago but everything looked new.

Then her gaze finally meeting them. Getting to where they stood, she bowed her head at the King and Queen with an amazing smile on her l-ips.

She looked at Arthur, since she stepped out of the carriage, his eyes haven’t left her. He was smiling. She worked hΓ¦rd rethinking if there was a fault on her or maybe, somehow, her dress was in the wrong position.

She bowed at him, trying as much as possible not to get lost in those hot stare.

“Oh, dear child, you look so tired and exhausted. You must need a rest for the long journey. Please do come in.”

Itzel walked behind them with Arthur by her side. Right now, all she wants is to lock herself in the room and think through everything.

The ball night, his proposal, leaving Avalon for the rest of her life, staying with her new families, getting married to the man after her heart and creating a new home with him.

Everything she just needs to think and rethink over it all. Getting a long rest for the journey was a nice idea but having all this thought about, was actually what she needed the most.

“Arthur will show you around after you might have rested. Welcome to your new home. Please feel free to do whatever you want.”

“I will, my lady. Thank you.”

She smiled before retreating.

“How was your journey?” Arthur asked after a brief silence.

“It was fine. His majesty sends his greetings to you.”

He nodded. “How are they?” He asked.

“They are all fine as well. Your Highess shouldn’t bother about them.” She smiled.

“You must be exhausted. Come on, let me show you to your room.”

She followed him as they passed through different rooms with different extraordinary beauty. She was astonished by the beauty of what the palace possess. She had always thought that Avalon was the greatest and there was no other kingdom to be compared to it.

No doubt seeing all this has proved her thoughts wrong. Somehow, in a way, Avalon is no match to Atlantis.

They stopped at a door decorated with red and a golden handle. Perfect designs were made on it, and no other door has she seen in the hallway was to be compared to it.

“I thought you might like this color. Guessed red was your favorite.” He said, hoping she wouldn’t feel uncomfortable with the design.

“I never expected his Highess would know my favorite colors. You don’t have my bio, do you?”

“I wish I have one, that would be more fantastic.”

She smirked. “Guess you just did now.”

He opened the door, letting her take in all its beauty. The entire walls were covered with red shades, her bed with the same red shade too. Only the furniture bore golden.

He made the room special for her. But to her, it was more like a couple’s chamber.

She turned to look at him. “Thank you. Now, I must have a rest.”

“Okay.” He said, closing the door behind her.

She sighed, throwing herself on the king-sized bed. Avalon was her home but, Atlantis felt more like a home to her.

Hazel, she really will miss her a lot. And mother… Will she be crying by now? How exactly are they without her?

All these thoughts in her mind… She slept off.

CHAPTER ELEVEN: A NEW HOME.

The morning sun penetrated through the silky curtain feeling the wh0le grow with it’s gorgeous rays.

Lady Itzel woke up, stretching tiredly as her eyes zoomed her environment. She remembered seeing such a beautiful room the previous day but not as beautiful as it looked now.

She yawned, stretching the more. Her fingers rubbed her eyes while the other hand brushed through her curly hair.

She made it to the bathroom for a cold shower. She wasn’t expecting the day to be so sunny like this but yet, it was still better. Not quite long, she stepped out of the bathroom.

Arya was arranging her room when she stepped out. She hadn’t heard the sound of the door opening neither shutting but all she could she was her maid.

“Good morning, my Lady, how was your night?” Asked Arya.

“It was fine. What about yours?” She asked back.

“Mine was pretty good too.” She said beaming with smile.

“Why am I just getting up from bed at this hour?” She asked, “you should have woken me up earlier.”

“Prince Arthur instructed we should leave you to rest.”

“How long have I been asleep?”

“Long enough, I guess.” She answered. “Have you had your bath, my Lady?”

“No, not yet. I was thinking of having it at the stream.”

“Okay. I will just get everything ready for your shower.” She stopped what she was doing, rushing for the towel and everything she needed.

They headed towards the stream. The stream was few kilometers from the castle. It was partially unrecognized, only few maids spent their time especially at night.

She undressed, letting almost every part of her body sink in,side the warm water. Except her head which was also halfway in the water.

“I never knew something like this existed. We barely have somewhere like this at Avalon.” Said Itzel.

“I heard Atlantis was once blessed years ago by a white witch. Before that, it was one of the least kingdom among the seven kingdoms until the witch came.”

“A witch?” Itzel repeated.

“Yes. As I heard.” Ginny replied.

“I never knew the seven kingdoms would accept witchcraft.”

“Avalon doesn’t.”

“Ginny,” she called.

“Yes, my Lady.”

“What do you think about Atlantis?”

“Atlantis?” She said, thoughtfully. “It feels like home. I feel welcomed, new and alive. I’m sorry I don’t know the words to use.”

Itzel chuckled. “Do you think I made the right decision, getting married to Prince Arthur?”

“My Lady, you made the wisest decision ever. Prince Arthur has been every woman’s dreams and yet among every other women, he chose you. How I wish I had such luck coming.”

Itzel turned to look at her, “You will, someday.”

Prince Arthur stood at a corner, watching as Lady Itzel buried herself in the water, letting her wh0le body invisible to the outside. For a moment, she didn’t show up. He thought something bad has happened to her.

He waited..

And when she still haven’t pulled out, he almost made a run to the stream when she finally pulled out of the water. The upper half of her body was exposed and the lower part still left covered in the water.

He watched as she swung her hair vigorously to both sides letting the huge waters which had soaked her hair drop off. He was left to see her bare back, glowing by the rays of the morning sun.

His eyes caught up with something at her back, a black mark, like a tattoo drawn at the center of her back. It ran from her neck down to her wa-ist and can only be visible by a clear view.

She m-ssaged her shoulders softly lastly, squeezing out the remaining water from her hair. Ginny walked up to her with the white robe opened. Ginny helped her wear the robe before she finally walked out of the stream, her bare legs still soaked with water.

Each step she took left some drops of water on the sand. Arthur was captured by her appealing features that he didn’t recognize that he could be caught at anytime.

Itzel made it to her room, changing the white robe to a red lace gown with a little make-up work on her face. Ginny helped her twist her hair in a french style which actually didn’t take five minutes of Itzel’s time.

“Oh, Prince Arthur will be waiting for me. I must see him right away.” She said.

“Is there a problem, my Lady?” Ginny asked, concerned.

“He promised to show me around. Silly me to have forgotten too soon.”

“But you haven’t eaten anything yet.”

Itzel made a stop, sighing frustratedly. ” I will have breakfast when I am back.”

“What if his Highess asks me…?” She questioned.

“He definitely won’t, trust me. Now can you please let me go in peace without you ever throwing up a question?” She said, making a pitiful face.

Ginny chuckled. “The door is all yours, my Lady.”

“Thank you.” She grinned, leaving the room.

~`*~`*~`*

They walked quietly through the hallway then out of the castle. The walk has been a quiet one. Itzel wanted to help but she saw herself only ruining it the more.

He would stare at her, looking away. After a while, he would do the same again and that got Itzel more uncomfortable than she already was.

“How was your night, m’lady? Hope you slept well?”

She nodded. “I did sleep well. Thanks for your concern. What about you, your Highess?” She asked back.

“I did sleep well too.”

“My apology for keeping you waiting.” She apologized, “I believe his Highess has longed been waiting to see me. Forgive my attitude.”

Arthur smiled. “Bother not, you needed some rest. So, how do you see the environment?” He finally asked.

“I have never thought of Atlantis to be this great beauty. I have believed Avalon to be the best amongst other kingdoms. Least did I know I was only making a fool out of my thoughts. ”

This time, Arthur chuckled. “I wasn’t expecting a princess to condemn the beauty of her hometown.”

“That isn’t condemnation. Honestly, I will admit, Atlantis is much of a home than Avalon.” Maybe that was only said for two reasons. No doubt, Honoria has a place for one.

“You look worried, m’lady. Is there a problem?”

She formed a soft smile on her l-ips. “Of course not. I was…” She paused, then continue. “I was only thinking about my home. But don’t worry, I’m still getting used to it.”

“As soon as we get married and settle down with each other, I will have you visit your home again. I promise.” He promised.

Itzel stared surprised at him. Actually, that wasn’t what she was thinking about. But him giving her such promise was something Itzel found hΓ¦rd to believe. She couldn’t believe her ears. Could that be an outcome of her not listening?

Or maybe, she was just too surprised to hear him say that? She will get to visit her hometown someday?

“Your Highess…”

“You don’t have to say no, you deserve it. You remember the night of the ball dance?” He reminded, she nodded. ” You remember my promises?”

She nodded again.

“I am not ready to fail any of it. I will do whatever it takes to make you feel happy and it all starts now.”

He pulled her, hugging her to himself. Each time he looked at her, something in him changes like everything about her made him feel new. Those unique eyes pulled him into a new world. A real world totally different from his world.

But he can’t get enough of her. No matter how hΓ¦rd he tries, he just can’t get a half of her.
