My Master episode 36

MY MASTER
EPISODE 36

Talia;

“Before I say anything, my beatiful bride needs to sit down somewhere, can someone get her a chair?” He bellowed again.

I was confused. Darrien looked at me with a smirk that sent a chill down my spine. I squinted my eyes at him questioningly just as a servant brought a chair towards the alter.

I sat down in the chair, which had been placed in such a way that I was facing the congregation who honestly looked dumbfounded as me but neither of them said anything.

“So you all now how today is one of the best days of my life. Not only is my brother Kayden here free, but he agreed to be my best man on this special occasion. And I am marrying the most beautiful this world has ever seen” Darrien said then paused.

“So today is meant to be one of the happiest days of my life correct?”

Everyone murmured their ‘yes’ whilst nodding their head in agreement.

“Well sadly it isn’t. I am the saddest man in this room, well apart from from my brother Kayden here, I mean I’m marrying his woman after all.”

Everyone laughed at his joke, which was not surprising seeing as how they all seemed to adore him. What surprised me though was I actually saw Kayden smiling. How could he be smiling at such a joke. He was the joke and he was enjoying it.

“Well as I was saying, I am not a happy man. I should be though, I mean I’ve got everything I need right?”

Again the congregation responded, nodding their heads in agreement.

“Well sadly you’re all wrong. I don’t have everything. I am a very sad and oppressed man, much like every other soul in this very room.” Darrien said to the utter shock of everyone in the room.

I had to admit I was also a bit shocked.

“You all are so oppressed by something you cannot explain that you cannot even see the wrongs going on around you. Like the fact I am Council Head, and yet I have never once in my life held a title besides the title Prince” Darrien said pacing back and forth on the alter.

“You all are so blind, that you cannot see that I abused my power in getting this woman to walk down that aisle looking like she did this willingly.” He paused, taking in the silence that was now reigning supreme in the hall.

“And you all are so blind that you cannot see that one man’s greed has caused us all nothing but pain and suffering. We have all been used as puppets, as pawns in the game of chess between a good man and a very greedy brother”

The room broke out into murmurs as people whispered to one another, probably stating their assumptions or linking the gossip they had heard throughout the past two weeks to what Darrien was saying.

“Ladies and gentlemen, elders of the Council here present, this sadly isn’t my story to tell, my brother Kayden here is the one who is capable of explaining and making you all see that we are all being used.” Darrien said and turned towards Kayden who moved towards the front of the alter and took a deep breath whilst staring at the huge crowd before him.

“At this te yesterday, I was a condemned man.” He paused as if to choose his words wisely.

“I was a man condemned for falling in love with an abomination.” He said and I flinched at his choice of words.

“I was condemned for making an honest woman of the girl I love by marking her. And I was condemned because of the seed I planted within her” he paused again after his statement.

“This woman seated on that chair, is the reason I spent weeks in prison. She is the reason I was almost stripped of my title as Lord and she is the reason each and everyone of you is in here today. This woman gave me the strength to fight a battle I had been holding out on for a very long time.” Kayden said.

“Now, according to our law, it is forbidden to mark a human as a mate, correct? It is also forbidden to marry a human, no matter which title she carries. I was imprisoned for breaking that rule, and yet here you all are, gathered and celebrating the same taboo I was imprisoned for. Doesn’t that seem a bit odd to you all”

The room was silent, probably contemplating Kayden’s words.

“The only thing that is odd is why an offender is standing before us, preaching” Lord Vincent’s voice bellowed.

Kayden let out a chuckle at this and I frowned because he was acting strange.

“Give it up dear Uncle, your witch has been captured, along with each and every one of your accomplices.”

“Ohh please. What are you on about now” Lord Vincent said looking back at his fellow Council members as if to convince them that Kayden had completely lost it.

St that moment, the door was bust open and two huge man dragged in a tiny woman clad in a long black dress.

Gasps and murmurs broke out through the hall as people seemed to recognise the woman.

She lifted her head and looked at Kayden.

“You!” She seethed through her teeth. “I am going to kill you!” She scre-med loudly.

A sly smile fell on Kayden face.

“No you’re not actually. Let me tell you what you’re going to do though. You’re gonna sit your scrawny little as down and watch as I get married to the love of my life. You’re also going to sit back and watch as the spell you cast on these people is removed”

She growled lowly at Kayden.

“You don’t know who you’re dealing with” she said again.

“No sweetheart, it is you that does not know who she is dealing with. But don’t worry, you’ll find out soon enough” Kayden’s voice was menacing as he spoke to her and I honestly felt as cold dhiver travelling down my spine.

Kayden turned around and looked at me. The intensity in his eyes almost had me on my knees. He stood there, grounded onto his s₱0t, his eyes never leaving mine.

I faintly heard Darrien announcing that the ceremony way now to continue and that all explainations would be given afterwards. It seemed the spell was wearing off though as I heard faint murmurs of people asking what was going on. All that suddenly turned into nothinf for me as Kayden began to walk towards me. I was shivering under his scrutiny. It felt like he was looking into me and not at me.

I remained paralysed in my seat as he approached me.

Lia” his husky voice which I had missed so much said.

I was at a loss of words. I was overwhelmed with so many emotions that it was just difficult to speak nor to do anything else for that matter.

Kayden sensed this and offered his hand out to me. I took his hand and stood up and almost immediately he pulled me
into his arms.

“God I missed you” he sighed as he hugged me almost to tightly, almost.

I had missed him too, and so had the baby in,side me as there was a sharp kick and a swell of happiness in,side me.

He pulled back and wiped off the tears on my face.

“Lia, say something. Anything.” He asked as he noticed I hadn’t said a single word to him.

I couldn’t say anything. I just couldn’t bring myself to formulate any words whatsoever.

I simply stood on my toes and k-ssed his cheek and Kayden frowned, obviously not content with just a peck on the cheek.

Darrien interrupted us soon after.

“Hey, sorry to ruin the moment, but the priest is waiting for you. As well as everyone else in the room” he said with a small smile directed towards us.

Kayden took my hand in his once more, and led us towards the priest. We stood facing each other and I was still at a loss of words. I was overwhelmed by how surreal all this seemed. I zoned out when the priest brgan speaking. All I could do was look st Kayden, wondering if all of this was real, or I was dreaming.

I was knocked out of my trance as the Priest called my name.

I looked at him and he elaborated “Your vows?”

I was stunned, but composd myself. I did not need preparation for this. All I had to do was speak from the heart that’s all.

I picked up the ring from the Bible and almost laughed at how ironic these vampires were, hiring priest and using the Bible and all.

“I am simply the luckiest woman in the world.” I paused to clear my throat as my voice was a bit gruff.

“I am not lucky simply because you chose me as your mate, but I am lucky because I was awarded the chance to even know, Kayden. You are an amazing man, an amazing boyfriend, an amazing mate and an amazing lover” I said earning a naughty smile from him.

“I love you so much that I simply cannot imagine what life I would be living without you. And I know that you will make an absolutely wonderful husband, and father.” As I finished the statement I slid the ring onto his finger and the room erupted into cheers, which sort of surprised me.

Kayden took the ring from the Bible as the cheering died down.

“No words are fit to describe the way I’m feeling right now. I feel like a man who has been made complete. I feel like I have finally located that part of my heart that has been missing all this while. I cannot tell you how much I love you Lia, but I definitely can show you” he said with a naughty smirk dancing on his l-ips causing me to blush furiously and Emily to make a gaggig sound behind me.

“I will show you by being your pillar when you need me. I will be the best husband you could ever wish for, and I will be an amazing father to our unborn perfection.” He finished, slipping the shiny ring onto my finger.

“By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you, Lord and Lady Kayden Blackwood. You may k-ss the bride”

Kayden wasted no time as he pulled me flash against him and ravished my mouth. It was a passionate k-ss that spoke volumes of our love and joy. The k-ss soon turned heated, like each and every one of the k-sses we had shærd before and quickly I pulled away, earning a low growl from him.

“Later” I whispered, earning another loud gagging sound from Emily who stood behind me. The room broke out into cheer as we turned to face them for the first time as Lord and Lady Blackwood.

I glanced through the crowd and my eyes stopped on Lord Vincent who was clearly fuming and not happy with what was going on. And before I could avert my eyes from him, I saw it. The blade in his hand and the malice in his eyes. I was frozen as I watched run towards me, his eyes stating his intention, he was aiming to kill. I couldn’t scre-m, I just stood there and watched as he ran in what seemed like slow motion towards me.

Everything happened so fast. One minute I was trembling and awaiting my death as I held onto Kayden’s hand. And the next. Kayden had his uncle by the neck in a death grip, the aforementioned blade shining like a little piece of jewellery on the floor.

It was then that I realised that no matter what, Kayden would always be there, and he would always protect the baby and I.

We were safe!
