ANNETTE picked up the hairband from the dressing table before her, she packed her hair with it
She looked into the mirror and a smile played on her l-ips
Why not? The best thing that has ever happened to her, was being with her first crush, and eventually, her love
Kosi, her roommate walked in, and stopped behind her, also looking into the mirror
“K babe, where does it look like, that the almighty Annette is heading to?”, she placed her left hand on her wa-ist
Annette laughed
“I told you Kosi, I’ve”
Kosi rolled her eyes
“Really? Oh I couldn’t remember. Do you mind telling me?”
Annette nodded
“I’m going to visit boo”, she rolled her eyes
Kosi hit her head
“Oh I remember now, sorry to have forgotten”
“Not your fault dear, when you’ve got one thousand and one things in that little head of yours”, they laughed
“You know? You have to be really careful o, I must say”, she folded her hands, still standing behind Annette and looking into the mirror
Careful? Why hearing about careful and careful all the time?
She’s always been told to be careful
She turned to Kosi
“Please, can you explain well for me? I mean, a lotta people has been saying same thing on being careful, what….why do you say that?”
Kosi sighed and walked to the seetee
“Well, you are Fred’s girl, a lot of other girls are hot angry with you”, she sat down
Annette was confused
Angry with her?
“Emm, because of what exactly?”
Kosi laughed
“I learnt from the old students, especially those in his department that Fred, he’s a goldmine in this campus. Can’t you see? He’s no doubt the most handsome, he’s the money to spend, he’s the only student who owns a car he could call his, a car as big as that”, she adjusted on her seat, “besides, every girl wants him at all cost, so they will all be as expected, angry with you when they hear you are now his”
Annette flickered her eyes, she was astonished and confused as well
“I’m still…. confused. Explain please”
Kosi sighed
“Just be very careful Anne that’s all I can say”
Hmm, it was surprising, she nodded
Now she got what she’s trying to say, she smiled
“Oh now I see, I get you now”, she got up, “but I…. I can’t possibly fight over a guy, I can’t. If he doesn’t loves you then he doesn’t, even if you fights, can you fight all the girls you see around him or suspect?”, she began walking to and fro the room
Kosi laughed, she rested her head on the headrest
“You don’t seem to know, probably because you’ve been loved by everyone’s dream guy already”, she rolled her eyes
Annette laughed
“That reminds me, you know he’ll be graduating out of college soon?”
She nodded
“Yeah”
“Good, he asked me to……to present a gift for him that day, and you know what? It has to be special”, she winked
Kosi laughed
“I understand”
She smiled
“Good, so what do you suggest?”
Kosi sat up and thought for a while
“Special right?”
“Yes”, she nodded
Kosi got up
“Well, if you so love him, I suggest you give him your V-rginity”
“What!”

Timi turned the leaflets of her book again for the fifth time, sighing
She wasn’t concentrating
She’s been like this for days now, worried and just worried
Why not?
Annette was also in the campus, where her Fred is
As soon as she left the prison, after being bailed out by her father, she immediately began all necessary things and resumed school
She had vowed to get him by any means, nothing can stop her
And so she had arrived the institution with the sole intention to get him, and now Annette came into the limelight, when she wasn’t expecting it
Why was that girl always coming in her way? Why?
So, she’s been worried, thinking on what cautious step to take
Elena noticed how worried she’s been, she felt worried and concerned
“Timi?”, she called, “what’s it? Tell me, what’s the matter with you?”
Timi glanced at her and kept mute, silence reigned for a while
Elena then broke it
“Are you ready to talk now?”, she asked
Timi looked at her? She felt she should tell her, she might help probably. She sighed
“Well, it’s about the girl you talked about, Annette”, she said
“What about her?”
“She’s the one I told you about who made me be in the police custody for over two months, before my father then came and bailed me out”
“What a small world!”, she exclaimed, “so?”
“She’s probably come back for Fred maybe, and you know I want this guy too”
Elena rolled her eyes
“So what you gonna do now?”
Timi thought for a while
“What’s the name of that girl again?”, she hit her head with her hand, trying to recollect
Elena was confused
“Which girl?”
“The one you said she’s in his department, I mean Fred’s department. That girl you told me you thought she’s his girlfriend because of the way she behaves”
“Oh! Serena?”
“Oh yes, Serena. I’m needing her”
“Why? For what? You forgotten she also wants him?”
“And that’s the exact reason why I want her, so we could put this Annette out of the way”, she waved her hand
Elena looked at her
“Then how you gonna deal with her after it must have been done? I mean Serena?”
Timi laughed
“Oh she’s gonna be an easy fix, I’ll be able to handle her. Just give me her address, I need to go see her now”, she stood up
Elena watched her in stupefaction
“I never knew you can go this length for a guy”
Timi waved her hand
“Ohh please, that is the main reason I’m in this campus, give me the address”
Elena took out a sheet and a pen, jotted down the information, and gave it to her
“Here”
“Thank you, let me get down to work”, she took the paper, glanced at it and at once, left the room. ©️

THE road was lonely, unusual of it as it was known for its liveliness, what has happened?
Annette looked at her wrist watch, it was just past seven, she looked at the road before her , just a few more scores of steps, she gonna get home
She sighed, the day has really been far spent, and she was practically tired and famished from the day’s lectures
The sound of crickets and night insects were in their numbers that early night, like they had conspired earlier enough
She got to the sports pavilion and someone came out from the building, walked to her front and stopped her from further movement
“Hey you”, the boy said, smiling mischievously
Annette looked at him and hissed, it was Ebube, the guy in her department who had been disturbing her for friendsh¡p
“What’s it again Ebube?”
“Na me u dy hiss for? Hei”, he shouted
“Please let me go”, she made to leave and he dragged her back
“Hey hold it there”, he said, “look there’s no one to free you from my hands now, not even your Fred ok?”, he laughed
Annette suddenly became scared, she looked round, there was nobody in sight
She tried releasing her hand from his hold, and he tightened his grip on her
“You certainly cannot escape me now, I’ve been pleading and begging you, but you keep turning me down. Your head dy big abi?”, he looked round and then dragged her into the sports pavilion
She shouted and pleaded, begging, but he played deaf ears
As soon as they got to the pavilion, he flopped her down on the floor
She fell with a thump
He began undressing himself
“You see that thing you’ve been refusing to give me, keeping it for Fred”, he licked his l-ips, “I’m taking it by force today, now”
“Please I beg you, please you…..”, he slapped the remaining words out of her
“You crazy? Oya, remove your dress, I’ll let you do that yourself”
She cried, pleading and begging
Immediately some group of boys entered the pavilion, shouting and causing a hell of noise
Annette got up instantly, scared to the bones, she looked at the dangerous looking guys in fright, they hadn’t noticed their presence yet, they just seemed to be scre-ming and shouting at the top of their voices
Ebube on his own part was shivering, obviously in fear. He began dressing up, but he was too late
The guys had seen him!
She quietly and stealthily turned and took to her heels
They had seen her too, but they made no attempt in chasing her
Then within a twinkle of an eye, they descended on Ebube, beating and kicking the hell out of him
“You wan rape the girl abi?”, one of them asked
“No, no ooo. Please don’t kill me”, he begged
“You wan rape Fred babe abi? You dy mad?”, another thundered, kicking his butt
That was how they continued beating him till he passed out

Annette woke up the next morning to the incessant knocks on her door, she thought she was dreaming
She sat up on the bed as she remembered what had transpired the previous night, and how she had escaped
Then she came home to meet the house empty, and she concluded Kosi must have slept outside as usual
So she just locked up the door, and slept off
She yawned as she got up and walked into the sitting room towards the door
She didn’t expect any other person at the door, since Kosi didn’t sleep at home last night, so she thought she was the one knocking
She opened the door and instantly two armed guys walked in
What!
What were they doing here? And who were they?
She was about asking when two more girls entered, she couldn’t believe her eyes
She cleaned her eyes to be sure she wasn’t being decieved
One of the girls was Timi! What!
“Surprise…. surprise”, Timi said as she entered, she looked around the house
“What you doing here?”, Annette asked
Timi laughed
“A lovely place you live in. Actually, I’m the one supposed to be living in such a cozy apartment and not some trash like you”, she pointed at Annette
Annette was confused and scared, she looked at the boys
They seemed ready to do whatever they’ve been paid to do
She became scared, all these she’s going through because of Fred? Is it a crime to love him?
She cried
“Will you ever stop going after me and let me be?”, she said
Timi laughed
“Oh of course I’ll. Not after unleashing the venom I already prepared for you”, she pointed at her
“So, you are the Annette, who wants to take my Fred away from me right?”, the other girl with Timi spoke for the first time
Annette was now surprised. Does it mean the both of them wants Fred?
Wait, maybe Timi’s using her the way she had used Cynthia
Ohh God, what she gonna do now? She’s been doomed
Annette looked at the girl that just spoke
“Pardon, do I know you?”
The girl laughed
“Of course I’m Serena, there’s no one who doesn’t know me”
What!
Serena? She had heard of her before. That she’s the closest to Fred’s heart before she came into the game
Ohh God! Why all these problem?
“What do you want from me?”, she asked almost crying
Serena laughed
“I’m not only gonna have you blungeoned, I’m also gonna have you framed up. I’ll ask these guys to rape you, and I’ll have the scene videod, so I can show to lovely Fred, how sweet”, they laughed
Annette shook her head in shock
“You guys are heartless”
Serena frowned
“You are insulting me?”, she turned to the guys, “do it”, she commanded
“Nooooo”, Annette scre-med and the two boys descended on her instantly, she fell to the floor and they bent over her, beating and hitting
The two girls laughed as she writhed in pains, bleeding from various parts on her body
She felt life being slowly squeezed out of her, she felt her bones weakening
At the instant the door opened and everyone freezed, the boys stopped the beating instantly
Who could that be?
She mustered all the courage she could and she turned to look at the door
And jeeze! It was Fred. ©️
