Catherina and Jackson walked to a company where they saw a job vacancy,
“Am scared I don’t want people to run away from me again”
Catherina sounded as they stood at the gate.

“Aunty Catherina I believe that today I will be our lucky day they will not run away from you rather they will give you the job”
Jackson assured her being so confidence of himself.

“How sure are you Jackson that they will not be like other people?
She asked being so worried.

“Please Aunty Catherina stop thinking negative all the time please just have this positive mind of getting this job and i believe it will be yours”
Jackson said giving her the assurance she needed.

Catherina stood at the gate starring at the big company thinking if she should go or not to avoid getting embarrassment from them.

“I don’t think if I should go because they won’t give me the job”
She sounded.

“Aunty Catherina enough of this negative mind, we need this job so that we can be able to have roof over our head and eat healthy food not begging for arms and also dress very well and not wearing rags as clothes remember you promise to send me back to school how will you do that? if not by getting a job please Aunty Catherina believe in yourself that the job will be yours it will work out very well”
Jackson said to her.

Catherina smiled and nodded her head,
“Yeah! I believe I will get this job so we can have a roof over our heads then Jackson will go back to school and we will live very comfortable”
She sounded.

Jackson hugged her with smiles and said,
“Yeah that’s the spirit I need from you,I wish you good luck with the interview it shall be a successful one”

“Sit here pray and wait for me to come out successful”
She sounded with smiles.

Jackson gave her a hug again before going inside the company.

Catherina used scarf and covered her face making her to look like a Fulani lady,she got inside and met the receptionist.

“Good Morning Ma! Please am here for the interview”
She said politely with smiles.

“Okay, you may go over there”
She said and pointed to where other people are.

“Thank you Ma!
She said and went there,she sat down waiting to get to her turn,she keep on praying to get the job to able to take care of Jackson.

Twenty minutes later,it got to her turn one of the workers led her to the Manager’s office.

“Good Morning Sir!
She greeted politely with smiles.

“Morning have a sit,may I see your CV”
He asked.

“Okay Sir!
She gave him the CV and sat down.

The manager went through the CV nodding his head while Catherina”s heart started beating so fast praying and hoping to get the job.

“You study Computer Engineering?
He asked while looking at the CV.

“Yes Sir!
She answered politely.

“Impressive! You graduated with upper first class”
He sounded with smiles.

“Yes Sir!
She answered and her heart became so calmed s
ince the Manager is impress with what he is seeing.

“I must say you are indeed the type we need in this company your qualifications are amazing all the seven people we interviewed didn’t reach half of your qualifications so Miss Catherina Patrick you are highly welcome to this company and as a member of this company you will be giving a house and official car”
He said with smiles.

Catherina stood up and shouted being so astonished,
“Sir you mean I will now have a house and car?
She asked being so surprised.

“Of course a house and car are the most necessary things we give to our employees and I promise you,you won’t regret working in this company”
The manager said to her.

“I can’t believe this I now have a car and a house! This is unbelievable! Sir I promise you that you won’t regret employing me in this company,working here will bring more profits to this company I assure that to you”
She said with so much excitement.

Excitement is understatement, words are not enough to describe how Catherina was at that moment.

“I can see the confidence in you and I know I won’t regret having you in this company”
He said.

“Thank you so much Sir! My heart is filled with so much gratitude for this job, thank you so much Sir”
She thanked him with so much joy.

The manager brought out the keys of the car and the house.

“Here is the keys to the house and the car,the receptionist will show you where the car is and also give you the address to the house,I hope you know how to drive?

“Yes Sir! Perfectly well”
She sounded with smiles.

“Okay Miss Catherina, you will be starting work tomorrow”

“Okay Sir!
She said and just about to collect the keys from the table something very bad happened,what she has been avoiding,the air from the ceiling fan blow her scarf away and the manager became so shocked and scared of what he saw while Catherina stood there not knowing what to do.

“Oh my God! Blood of Jesus! The Blood of Jesus!
He shouted in fear and stood up from his chair.

“Sir this face is not what you think,Sir am human being am not what you think am I”
She said to him.

“You monster! What are you doing in this company? Your evil motives has been be exposed so you came to this company seeking for a job so that you will kill us all? Who sent you to devour us?
He shouted in scared.

“Sir is not what you think,I got this monster face from fire explosion am a human being am not a monster please Sir believe me I desperately need this job please don’t be scared of me am a human being and not a monster, okay just think of it does a Monster exit if not only in a movie? Does monster goes to school? Sir you have to believe me am human being and not a monster”
She tried to explain to him In tears.

“If you are a monster or not that type of face won’t work in this company,this your scaring face will bring down this company I won’t try that risk so you are no longer employ to this company you may take your leave Miss Catherina Patrick”
The manager said it seems he believed her but gave his excuses of not employing her.

“Please Sir,I desperately need this job,I have been searching for job for over a year all the companies I went to ran away from me please Sir forget about this my monster’s face and employ me you won’t regret it Sir”
She knelt down and pleaded.

“How will someone in his right sense employ this type of face? I don’t want this your face to bring down this company so leave and never return”
He shouted.

“Please Sir I promise you nothing will happen,please give me the job back, please Sir”
She pleaded in tears.

“I said you should leave before I will call the security on you”
He shouted angrily.

“Please Sir!

“Miss Catherina leave this office!
He shouted angrily.

Catherina picked up her scarf and covered back her face, she used the door.

Jackson sat down waiting for Catherina to come out,
“Why is the interview taking time? Could it be she has gotten the job and started working already?
He thought being so curious to know what meant be going inside there.

Catherina came out,he rushed her and asked,
“Don’t tell me that you didn’t get the job?

With the look on her face you will know it didn’t go well.

“I got the job and was given a house and car but lost the job within a twinkle of an eye”
She sounded in tears.

“Lose the Job! How? How possible Is that?
Jackson asked confusingly.

“You know I covered my face with a scarf so the Manager didn’t notice my face just when I was about to collect the keys for the car and house the Devil came and blow off the scarf the manager became so scared of me I managed to explain things to him but he told me that he can’t hire a monster face it will bring down the company”
She said in tears.

“Oh mine! What’s all these nah? How are we going to survive now?
Jackson shouted.

“This face is a bad luck to me nobody want to hire me because of this face,God why did you make myself so miserable like this? Tell me how we will be able to survive?
Catherina sounded in tears and sat down.

Jackson wiped her tears and said,
“Don’t cry Aunt Catherina,i remembered what my Mom used to tell my senior brother she said that in evey trial of life have an expiry date and when a door closes another perfect door opens so I believe that you will find a good job that is meant for you a job that will not regrade your face”

Catherina hugged him and said with smiles,
“Jackson the way you talks baffles me that wonder if you are a kid or an adult,this your word of encouragement has lighted my spirit,you are such an intelligent child thank you so much for this words”

Jackson smiled and said,
“I always pay very attentive whenever my mother is advising my brother and I grab it despite how small I was then”

A guy came out from the company rejoicing and thanking God for the Job He has given him.

🗣️ Thank you God for this job,my heart is filled with so much gratitude,I can’t wait to share this good news to mother”
He said.

Catherina overhead him and walked to him,
“It’s seem you got a job from this company?
She asked with smiles.

🗣️ Yes! Am the happiest person in the whole world,I have been believing God for a job for months and He have finally answered my prayer not only I got a job I also got a house and a car”
He shouted flicking the keys.

“That Job is not yours,is my Aunty’s own you are a job snatcher”
Jackson shouted.

🗣️ Excuse me Kid! I don’t understand what did you mean by a job snatcher?
He shouted.

“My Aunty was given that job and taken away a few minutes ago and because of you our happiness was cut to short and we keep on living in the street and begging for arm”
Jackson shouted.

🗣️ Am lost here! I don’t understand any Damn thing, what’s this kid talking about?
He asked Catherina being so confused.

“Is true I was given that job and it was taken away in a twinkle of an eye”
She said.

🗣️ But how possible is that? How can you got a job and lost it the same day?
He asked with so much confusion on his head.

Catherina removed the scarf and said to him,
“Is because of this face that’s why I lost the job”

🗣️ Blood of Jesus! What’s that?
He shouted in scared.

“A scary face of mine that vowed I won’t be a successful person in life”
She sounded.

🗣️ You were born half human half monster?
He questioned in shocked.

“Mind it my Aunty was not born like that she is a human being like you”
Jackson shouted.

🗣️ Then how did you get this scary monster face of yours?
He asked still confused.

“It’s a long story but I have to make it brief,fire explosion got my face like this that’s why am homeless and nobody want to hire me because of this face”
She sounded.

The guy felt so bad and sympathy with her,
🗣️ Am so sorry dear am not in the right position to give you back this job but I will help you out”

“You want to help us?
They shouted surprisedly.

🗣️ Yes I want to help you If only you will accept to work in a boutique”

“Why not? Am willing to work anywhere”
She sounded happily.

🗣️ Okay,the place was working the owner want me to get a replacement so we will go and meet her now”
He said to them with smiles.

“Thank you so much I will be forever be greatful to you”
Catherina thanked him with smiles.

“Thank you so much!
Jackson added as they made way out.
