” Is that why you are here? He asked coldly
” Uhmm..yes that is why am here” I said.
” I already explained to them I won’t be coming to the meeting” he said.
” Why? Because of a business trip?
” Yeah, i won’t be coming so you can leave my room now” he said trying to walk away.
” You won’t attend your children’s meeting because of a business trip?
” A very important business trip”
” Important? Much more important than your children’s happiness? I half yelled.
” Leave my room now” he said walking away.
” What kind of a father are you? I yelled.
He stopped on his track without Turning to look at me.
” You don’t consider your children’s happiness, it is all about you and you only.. you are just so selfish” I yelled.
He turned and looked at me angrily.
I gulped.
” How dare you speak to me in that manner?.
” Do you derive joy is making those children hurts? I yelled.
” Young woman, leave my room or else..
” Else what? You will you do? Accuse me of stealing in the children’s presence? I asked.
” My family is nor of your business” he said.
” I know but those kids are like my children even though am not their biological mother” i said
” You can go with them to the meeting but I won’t be coming” he said .
” Let’s him be mum, he won’t be coming along” Angel said entering in,side with Mabel beside her.
He looked at her shocked.
” Mum? He muttered inaudibly but I could hear it.
” Let’s go mum” Mabel said.
” Mum? He asked confused.
He looked at me but I looked away.
” Angel, Mabel what did you just call her now? He asked staring at me.
” Yes dad, ma’am rose is our mum” Angel said holding my hand.
“Your mum? You refer to her as mum? He asked still shocked.
” Yes dad, she is our mum” Mabel said.
” Let’s go mum” Angel said.
He held my arm stopping me from moving.
He looked at me then the kids.
” Angel, Mabel go to your room” he said.
” Why? Angel asked.
” I want to speak to her” he said staring at me.
” No dad we are not going anywhere except mum come with us” Angel said.
” I want to speak to her she is not coming with you” he said.
” Dad”.
” Go to your room now” he yelled.
I gasped.
They children flinched.
” Angel, Mabel please go to your room” i said.
They both looked at me, tears welled in their eyes.
” But mum..
” Come on girls, am fine and I will join you shortly please go to your room” i said with a smile.
They looked at him
” We hate you dad” Angel said walking out with Mabel.
” Let’s of my arm, what do you want to talk about? I asked.
He lets go of my arm.
He looked at me with so much anger.
” What are you trying to do? He asked.
” Trying to do? Nothing.
” You are a liar, you are trying to turn my children against me” he yelled.
” How do you mean? I asked confused.
” Don’t pretend to me woman.. i know women like you are nothing but thief ” he yelled.
” What are you taking about? I yelled getting angry.
” You are a big disgrace.. you came here in the pretence of looking after my own kids.. but the truth is you are here because of me.. you came here maybe you could get a chance with me.. you have succeeded in deceiving the kids Making them believe you love them.. you made my children call you their mother so maybe I could consider getting married to you” he yelled angrily.
I gasped shocked
” That is not true” i said getting teary.
” Yes that is the truth, you also want me to come along with you to the kids meeting so people can believe we are together.. that we are married and you are the mother of my kids you are nothing but a gold digger.. you manage to get into this mansion just for money..” he yelled.
” That’s not true” I yelled.
” Then what’s the truth? Tell me? He yelled.
Tears dropped from my eyes.
” I never knew you could stoop so low” he said with gritted teeth.
” Enough, you have said enough” i yelled.

” Enough, you have said enough” she yelled.
I looked at her angrily.
” I never came here because of money, I never wanted to come here but mum and dad begged me to and the only reason I came here is to look after the kids am not here for you” she yelled with tears in her eyes.
” Really? I smirked.
” Yes, i came here for the kids and I was able to give the kids the motherly love and care you deprived them of.. Because you lost your wife you became so cold and pay less attention to the kids.. you only think about yourself.. what about the kids? Didn’t they lost their own mother? Sara was your wife but isn’t she the kids mother? Tell me” she yelled angrily.
” You..
” Keep quiet.. you have said what you wanted to say.. now it is my turn to talk” she said pointing a finger at me angrily.
I looked at her surprised.
Who gave her the gut?
” The kids decided to call me their own mother because of the love and affection i showed towards them I never forced them to call me that… Neither did I want you to come along with the meeting. The kids begged me to come here and talk to you maybe you could change your mind but what did you do? What did you do?
” You accused me of coming here to get a chance with you? Tell me who are you? Who are you? She yelled.
” I am Nathaniel Raymond” I yelled.
She looked at me then laughed.
” Nathaniel Raymond? A wealthy business man? A cold-hearted and ruthless man. A selfish man.. a man with no human feelings because he lost his wife? She yelled.
” Rose.. you have..
” Do you think you are the only one who lost someone precious to you? She asked crying.
” Do you think you are the only one? That you think you can just treat people anyhow because you lost your wife? She yelled in tears.
” Yes am the only one” I yelled.
She looked at me with so much anger
” I hate you” she said and ran out of the room.
I sighed and ruffled my hair angrily
My kids came in.
” You have succeeded in Making mum cry” Angel yelled in tears.
” I hate you dad” Mabel yelled.
” You are a monster” Angel yelled.
Tear dropped from my eyes.
” Am sorry Angel” i said trying to touch her.
” Don’t touch me” she yelled and ran out of the room.
Mabel looked at me with anger on her face.. she also ran out.
I sighed.
My heart shattered even more to hear my kid call me a m©nster.
All because of what I said to rose.
They really love her more than me.
” I shouldn’t have said those things to her” i thought sadly.
Now my kids hate me.
What should I do now?

I ran out of his room.
I got into my room and cried my eyes out.
Death why?.
Why did you took my parents from me?
Why did you took Sara from Nathaniel and the kids?
Why? I cried.
Mabel and Angel came in.
I cleaned my tears.
” Mum, are you crying? Angel asked sitting beside me.
” No my dear, am.. am..not crying” I said forcing a smile.
” All this is all because of dad” she said.
” Sorry mum” Mabel said.
I smiled.
” It’s not your fault princess”
” Let’s go Mabel” Angel said.
They both stood up and walked out the room.
I smiled.
” No rose, you can’t be weak, you can’t let’s Nathaniel words get to you”
” You have to be strong for the kids” I said to myself.

I got out of the room and head downstairs to get a bottle of water.
No one is there.
I took the water and drank it.
I got up and head to the kids room.
I got to the door.
I sighed.
I knocked on the door.
No response.
I opened it and saw them together on the bed.
They saw me walked in.
They looked away.
I sighed.
I got to them and sat down on the bed.
” Angel, Mabel am sorry” I said.
They didn’t even spare me a glance.
They kept quiet.
” Please forgive me, am sorry” I said.
” Dad, we don’t want to talk to you”Mabel said.
I sighed.
” Mabel, please am sorry , please forgive Dad” I said.
She looked at me then Angel.
” Am sorry Angel” I said.
” You should be telling the sorry to mum not we” she said angrily.
” I know you are angry with me but am sorry” I said.
” How could you make her cry dad, you couldn’t get us mum but we got ourselves mum..you don’t love us but she love us.. you don’t care about us but she care about us but what did you do dad? What did you do? You made her cry” she yelled.
Tears dropped from her eyes.
I sighed and cleaned her tears.
” Please forgive me Angel, am sorry” I said.
” Really? She scoffed.
” You want me to forgive you after hurting her feelings? She asked.
” Please Angel” I pleaded.
” We can’t forgive you” she said moving away from me.
“Please Angel, Mabel please” I pleaded.
” Angel” Mabel called.
She looked at her then me.
” Okay, we will forgive you on one condition” she said.
“Okay, what condition?
” You will apologise to mum then promise not to say any bad words against her” she said.
” I should apologise to her? I asked.
” Or can’t you apologise to her? Angel arched her brow.
” But Angel..
” I see you don’t want us to forgive you” she said.
,” will you do it? Mabel asked.
” Okay. I will” I said.
” Promise? Mabel asked.
” Yes I promise” I said.
” Dad you must keep this promise or I won’t forgive you ever again” angel said sternly.
” Okay ” I said.
” We have forgiven you” she said.
I smiled.
” If you have forgiven me then give me a big hug” I said.
She smiled and hugged me.
I hugged Mabel.
” Now let’s go out for fun” I said.
” Will mum be coming along? She asked.
” If you want her to” I said.
” Okay let’s go to her room” Angel said.
We got to rose room.
The kids insisted I go in,side with them.
We met rose writing in a book.
“Mum” Angel called.
She smiled at her.
She looked at me.. her smile disappeared.
“Dad” Angel called and winked at me.
I sighed.
” Hmmmm.. am sorry” I apologized.
” For? Angel arched her brow.
” Dad” Mabel called.
” Uhnnnmm.. Rose am sorry with the way I spoke to you earlier” I apologized.
Angel and Mabel smiled widely.
“Mum..please forgive him”Angel said.
” I have Angel” she said kssing her cheek.
” How about me mum? Mabel pout.
” Come here” she smiled.
She kssed her cheek also.
Mabel smiled.
I looked at them.
The kids looks very happy with her.
I smiled.
” Mum, we want to go have some fun, please come along with us” Mabel said.
” Mum don’t bother preparing dinner because we will be having dinner outside” Angel said.
Rose looked at me then the kids.
” Please mum,come with us”Angel said.
” No Angel,I can’t come with you” Rose said.
” Why mum?
” I have some work to do and am a bit tired ” she said.
“Mum” Mabel pout.
” Princess, some other time” she said.
“But we want you to come”
” I know.. I love you okay.. make sure you have some fun and get something for me also” rose said smiling at the kids.
” Okay mum… We love you” Angel said and kssed her cheek.
She smiled and kssed their foreheads.
I smiled.
” Let’s go dad, see you later mum” she said walking out of the room with Mabel.
Rose and I stare at each other.
” Rose..I..
” Dad” the kids yelled interrupting me
She smiled.
I smiled and walked out of the room.

We were able to have lot of fun today with the kids.
I bought dinner for rose.
We got home.
” Thank you dad” Mabel smiled.
” We really had lots of fun. You are the best”Angel said.
I smiled.
She yawned.
” Goodnight Dad” angel said.
I kssed their foreheads.
” Let’s go to mum’s room”Mabel said.
We go to her room
We met her sleeping.
” Dad, we are going to sleep now” Angel said.
” Okay”
They both walked out of the room going to their room.
I got to rose bed.
I looked at her.
A smile creeped on my face.
Her hair fell covering her face.
I removed it.
She smiled even in her sleep.
She is really beautiful though” I thought.
I dropped the dinner I bought on a small table beside her bed.
I looked at her once again.
I muttered
” Goodnight”
I walked out of the room.
