🌿Kim’s Pov🌿

I walk into the house but was taken aback by the yelling and raising of voices.

What could be happening? 🤔

I rushed into the living room and no one was present ,I realized that’s the voices are coming from mom’s room.

I ran there and met granny, Sophia and Lina crying.

I was shocked and bedazzled to see mom and Jeremy raising voices at each other while mom is busy cleaning her tears.

“You’re so lazy mom, Noona (elder sister which is Kim) will have to combine three jobs together just for the betterment of our lives and you’ll be here calling her on the phone ‘My baby, my love, where are you, why haven’t you arrived, hope everything is fine, now I need a little amount of money and you can’t produce it for me, telling me I should wait for Noona, did you want to kill her huh…. ”

“I’m trying my best, I will give you the money, just give me little time, please Jeremy “Mom pleaded and fell on her knees and weep profusely, I couldn’t even control my tears, it keeps falling.

I couldn’t control my rage and emotions any longer, I rush to him, I held his arms and slap him immediately.

The gasp at shock, I’ve never raise my hand on him or anything of them before but ur frustrated the hell out of me tonight.

How could he talk rudely to mom like that???

“Are you crazy, how dare you talk to mom like that? ” I rasped in anger.

“She’s so lazy……. She couldn’t…… “I landed a slap on him immediately and he held his cheeks seething in anger.

“Don’t you know she’s trying, she’s the one buying all the food stuffs, I’m only helping the in the financial area, besides, she’s the one taking almost all the responsibilities in the house ”

“But I asked for money and she couldn’t give me” He grumbled and I scoff.

“So…….. “I drawled.

“If she can’t give you the money right now, she will give you later”

“I’m so disappointed in you Jeremy “I said tearfully and help mom up.

I made her sit on the bed and clean her eyes, Jeremy walk out of the room dejectedly and the rest followed.

I sighed before placing my hands in hers and she stare with tears filled in her eyes.

“Mom….. ”

“Trust me baby, I’m trying my best, I can’t do more than this, even if I want to strive h-rder, my health is failing me, it’s failing me” She whimpered with tears dripping down her face.

“Mom it’s okay please ,I know you’re trying your best, ”

“Kim I’m trying, I’m doing my best” She shook me slightly and broke into another bout of tears, I bit my l-ips from crying, I draw her head to my chest and rub her back.

After calming her down a little, I walk to the living room and surprisingly, granny, Sophia and Lina are crying, I walk up to where they sat and pacify them for a long time for a while before their cries reduce.

After so much begging, they were able to eat and we say a little prayer before retiring to bed, I walk grandma to her room and after making sure she slept deeply, I walk back to mum’s room, she’s still crying, I mean profusely, I wonder when she’s going to stop.

I didn’t really blame her though, I blamed Jeremy, he hurt her so much.

“Mom it’s fine, do you want me to cry”

“No, I won’t cry again, I promise “She said in an assuring smile.

“Okay let me bring your food, and you see that Jeremy, he will be the one to beg you again ”

“Jeremy has done no wrong, let just say he’s behaving childishly ” She smiled but I could still see that pain in her eyes which is hurting her deeply.

“Mom I know you’re hiding your pains but I’m assuring you that everything will be fine ”

“Okay” she stuttered.

“Now let me bring your food” I said walking out of the room to get the food.

After I forced her to eat all the food, I tusk her to bed and peck her forehead.

I plonk my self on the bed.

“This is a very long night” I mumbled to myself before staring at the ceiling till I slept off.

🌿Jeremy Pov 🌿

I continue hitting the bed angrily and hot tears keep running down my face, why did I have to say that, I know she’s trying her best but why can’t I give her some little time to provide the money, there has never been a day we slept on empty stomach even why Noona is still in college.

Why, why did I have to say that, Sofia is just two years when Dad died and she has been the one taking care of the family of six since that time.

God!!! Am I that dumb to realize that she’s trying her best, I shouldn’t have said that, I over reacted.

I wonder how mine will feel right now 😖😥.

👧Matilda’s Pov👧

I stirred gently on the bed and sit up, it’s 3am already, I decided to say a little prayer on Jeremy, I knew he didn’t do that to intentionally although he over reacted.

I prayed for about two hours before going to prepare breakfast.

After preparing breakfast, I walk into my room to prepare for shop, after having my bath, I wore a black gown and check the time, I realized I’m running late already.

I hasten up after picking the important things I will need in the shop ,I scurried to the living room and met the family eating.

I greet them and was about to walk away when Kim called me back.

“Mum, aren’t you eating? “She asked worriedly.

“No, I’m fasting ”

“But you’ve to take your drugs”

“I will try to take something when it’s time to take my drugs, don’t worry about me”I cooed and k-ss Sophia and Lina cheeks.

“Mum” Jeremy whispered, I stared at him and his eyes were swollen, he must have cried a lot.

“Good morning “I faked a smile.

“Mom, I’m sorry for what happened yesterday “Mom apologize.

“It’s okay” I dipped my bag into my bag and count some notes out of the money I want to use to stock the shop.

“Use that to pay for the class contributions ” I handed the money to him.

“Okay mom thanks ” He said gratefully.

“At least our mom is not lazy”Lina sneered and he stare at her with pain in his eyes.

“Lina stop it” Mom snapped and she roll her eyes before eating.

“Kim, please take care of your siblings and granny”

“Sure mom” I pat her head before walking out of the room.

💋Kim’s Pov💋

I walk blearily into the restaurant after signing, Sally is taking the orders already.

Does she even sleep at home, she comes early to work because I’ve never arrived before her just for once.

Sometimes, I do tease her that she sleeps in the restaurant.

I change into the uniform and joined her in taking the orders.

🌹Sally Pov🌹

I noticed Kim’s mood when she walk into the restaurant earlier, I realized she’s moody and maybe something is bothering her.

She place her right elbow on the counter and rest her chin on it, deep in thoughts.

“Hey what’s wrong? I asked shooking her a little.

“I’m fine”She smiled.

“I won’t take that from you, I know there’s something bothering you”I said waging my finger at her.

“I’m not going through somethings in the family, so it’s bothering me a lot, things has been very hærd for us at home”She said with her l-ips shaking.

She want to cry again.

“Don’t cry okay things will be fine” I assured and she smile a little.

“Alright, thanks” She mumbled and I nodded smiling.

🌿Kim’s Pov🌿

7pm, at the same day.

I walk happily into the living room and find Grandma watching movies.

“Hey granny “I cooed and peck her cheeks.

“My baby, how are you doing? ”

“I’m fine” I said and rest my head on her flat br-ast.

I enjoyed doing that a lot🤗

“Granny, where is mom?”

“She hasn’t came back from work also Jeremy isn’t in the house, Sophia and Lina are in the kitchen preparing dinner”

“Okay, I willjoin them in the kitchen so as to hasten up”.

“Okay” She replied.

I stroll to the kitchen and met the girls preparing pasta.

“Hey girls”

“Hi sis welcome “They replied.

We quickly prepare dinner and we ate with grandma ,I walk her to bed.

After two hours, mom and Jeremy isn’t yet to be back and we are getting worried already.

“Girls why did you think we should do”

“Maybe we should check mom at the shop” Sophia suggests.

“Could Jeremy be with her” Hannah asked.

“Let’s check their first” Sophia pressed further and we all agreed to go.

We got there and we were so surprised to see a large crowd of people in the shop.

We walk more closer to them and surprisingly, we found mom and Jeremy …….

Well,,, you all must have been wondering why I am not at home.

Flash back 🌹

At school ,I and Ryan walk into the cafeteria to grab our lunch and the girls whistling at is, I rolled my eyes at their manner, I’m not in the mood for flirting.

Not to brag, I’m really handsome and being the captain of the basketball team made me popular in the school, I flirt with girls a lot.

I should have wink at them but I’m so bothered right now.

I sat on the chair and threw my head backwards reminiscing about what happened last night at home, this thought alone bring tears to my eyes but I tried to push it back in which I did successfully..

Ryan who is holding a tray of hamburgers with juice dropped it on the table with a small thud jolting me out of my thoughts.

“What’s wrong with you, you look so dull ”

I sighed and breathe in deeply before replying.

“I f-cked up a big time “I glance at him and explain all what happened yesterday night.

“What!!, you shouldn’t have done that “Ryan almost yelled.

“I was so angry ” I mumbled.

“So, have you apologised? “He asked.

“Yeah… I begged her this morning ,but that apart, I want to find something to do to help mom” I said and he scoffed.

“You can do a lot of things, beside you’re so talented, you are good in sports, dancing, singing and even cooking, you can help in many ways ” Ryan said.

“What can I do? ” I asked frustrated.

“Calm down, I have a suggestion for you, you might find it shameful but it will help, since your mom is the owner of the shop she’s using, you’re very good in cooking especially roasting meats, why can’t you be doing that, even you can go further by selling soft drinks with it, it will help a big time” He suggests and my face broke into a smile for the first time today.

Wow!!, that’s a good suggestion.

“Wow, that’s good, but how can I combine my studies together with it? “I asked.

“You can be roasting meats at night, you’re the most brilliant student in school, so studying should not be a big deal to you “He flattered and I roll my eyes.

“But how do I start the business, I’m cashless ”

“Well, I will help you in the financial area”

“Okay thanks, but mind you, I will pay you your money back as soon as I am making profits in the business ”

“Alright “He sighed.

🌿Maltilda Pov🌿

I was busy cleaning the containers I used in displaying the fruits earlier when I sight Jeremy coming, I gulp nervously as he walk closer.

What’s he doing here again??

“Hi mum” He said smiling.

“Uhm….. good afternoon, how was school today? ”

“School was fine”

After spending moments of silence, he spoke up.

“Mom, I’m sorry for being rude” He apologize soberly and I smiled.

“It’s fine, I’m not angry ” I held his hands.
