CHAPTER 45
.

“Rosanne.” Zackary breathed out.
“Father… What’s wrong?” Rosanne asked getting on her feet.

“Just from the castle… You’ll be going back to Castle Sylph tomorrow.”

“What? Why?” Garam yelled.

“Stay calm.” Rosanne breathed out at Garam, walking up to her father. “But I just got here” Rosanne huffed.
“It was the queen’s order and the good news is, she promised you’ll be back for the Hayest” Zackary breathed out a frown.

“I don’t really understand this back and forth, from orrander to Sylph…” Garam huffed.
“Well it is the Queen’s order, we might as well obey it” Rosanne shrugged.

“Damn those orders” Garam spat.
“Garam… I’ll be back for the festival.” Rosanne smiled at him.

“I know but it’s annoying, and besides you’ll be leaving tomorrow, want me to take you somewhere today to get the best of Orrander before leaving for Sylph?” Garam asked.

“Of course” Rosanne beamed.

“Of course not” Zackary chยกpped in. “You’ll be going back to Sylph tomorrow and what you need right now is a perfect rest.

“Yeah, I agree with father Rose” Garam shrugged.
“Fine.” Rosanne rolled her eyes.
“And I’ll be pleased if you could sleep the wh0le day, I won’t mind” Zackary shook his head with a smile.
“Fine… I Will” Rosanne sighed, walking past her father and Rosanne.

The sun was starting to set and as the night drew nearer, everyone got their lanterns ready.

Seated alone in the dark room, the crown prince could hear laughter coming from the ballroom, Rosanne clear and familiar feminine laugh. He shook his head telling himself that it wasn’t real, he was being delusional over Rosanne and he knows it but still trying to fight what he was hearing.

โ€œYour Highness…โ€ Her voice ringed in,side his head and he lets a loud yell that echoed into the dark night.

โ€œYou’re obsessed, you should have killed her when I asked you toโ€ A voice said in,side his head and he got on his feet and slammed his hand against the wall.
“Get out of my head!” He yelled almost pulling his hair off.

โ€œI can’t, we’re one Hasting, you’re the one saying this, I am you and you are meโ€.

“No… We’re not… You made me hurt her”

โ€œYou wanted to hurt the ruler of Orrander, do not beat yourself so much, your mother was the cause of Rosanne’s injury, you are not at faultโ€ The voice added

The crown prince paused, and slowly clenched his fist. “You’re right… I am not at fault for Rosanne’s injury, that queen is going to pay for what she did to Rosanne.”
:

“Rise and shine, my wingless fairy.” Zackary called with a smile, as Rosanne’s eyes fluttered open.

“It’s morning already?” Rosanne sighed as she got on feet.

“it is and sadly, a carriage from the castle has been sent and is waiting in front of the cottage” Zackary sighed. “You need to get ready.”

“Are you sad father? I’ll be back for the Hayest festival” Rosanne shrugged.

“I’m… Just… I… It’s just… It’s nothing. I’m not sad, come on, go get ready, you don’t want to keep his Highness waiting now” Zackary smiled before leaving the room.

Rosanne got ready and dressed in one of her plain dress, she gave her golden hair some soft brushed before walking out of the cottage.
Seeing the carriage waiting for her, Rosanne breathed out a tired sigh. ‘I just got here.’ she muttered under her breath.

Cornelius stepped out of the carriage and with a fine smile, he bowed at Rosanne who returned the gesture.
“Good morning… Rosanne.” Cornelius smiled.
“Good morning.” Rosanne replied.

“Are you ready?” Cornelius asked.
“Certainly.” Rosanne nodded.
After one glance at her father, Rosanne turned back to Cornelius who led her to the entrance of the carriage.

“See you in two days” Zackary beamed as he waved to his daughter who waved back with a small smile.

“His Highness will be pleased to see you Rosanne.” Cornelius beamed as the carriage started to move, the horses working on their pace.
“I don’t think so.” Rosanne shook her head.

“Oh… Okay.. How is your neck by the way?” Cornelius asked.
“It’s getting better, I don’t feel pain around it that much” Rosanne replied.

Cornelius nodded with a smile, becoming quiet.
~
The ride to Castle Sylph was as tedious and tiring as Rosanne expected and she slept throughout the wh0le journey.

“We’re here!” Rosanne heard Cornelius voice announced and her eyes fluttered open. Looking at the window, she saw the familiar scary looking castle and breathed out a sigh of relief.
“We’ll leave you here miss Rosanne and worry not, we’ll certainly be back in two days time.” Cornelius smiled.
“Certainly. I cannot wait” Rosanne smiled

The coachman got the door for Rosanne and as she stepped out of the carriage, she gave a small bow at Cornelius and the coachman before turning around.
Waiting for the carriage to leave, Rosanne breathed out a sigh as she glared at the castle.
“Well I hope he’s doing better” Rosanne mumbled as she stride through the white sand to get to the doors of the castle.

Opening the castle’s enormous door and walking in, Rosanne let’s out a gasp when she made it into the ball room to see it in a horrid state.
“Holy Mother of Orrander” she gasped.

The slippery floors had scratches, the walls had cracking and h0les, the pillers contained more scratches than the floors and some of the vase that had been used to decorate the ball room were shattered on the floor.

“No…” Rosanne gasped as she made her ways through the stairs to see them lanterns broken on the stairs, the walls looking broken like someone slammed a sledge hammer against it, the antikis on the wall crooked and ruined.

“What in the world happened here?” Rosanne thought as she made her way to the prince’s room.
“He didn’t possibly do this, did he?” Rosanne said to herself, as she got to the passageway that led to the crown prince’s room.

Getting close to his Highness room, Rosanne breathed out a heavy but quiet sigh. She saw how dim light escaped from his room and into the dark passageway.
“Why is his door open.?” Rosanne thought, as she got closer to his room.

‘And his door is gone again.’ Rosanne shook her head realizing his perfectly fixed wooden door had been taken down again. Standing inches away from the open door, Rosanne peeked in,side the room, to see his Highness standing by the window and staring, shirtless like always.
She suddenly noticed some strange new red markings at his back that kind of formed the shape of a pair of horn.

Shaking her head, Rosanne stepped into the room quietly and breathed out the words.

“Your Highness.”

The crown prince gave her no reply and she cleared her throat as she called again. “Your Highness”.

“Get out of my head you’re not real!” the crown prince yelled.

Rosanne titled her head in confusion. “Your Highness, it’s me Rosanne, I am real.”

“No… You’re not, get out of my head.!” The crown prince roared.

“Turn around your Highness!” Rosanne sighed. Has he finally lost it? She thought.

“Your voice is just a figment of my imagination. It’s messing with my head.” The crown prince growled.

“No it’s not. I don’t know what you’ve through your Highness, but I’m real, I’m not a figment or any figment of your imagine.” Rosanne shook her head, taking a step forward.

“Leave me be.” said the crown prince.

“Oh mother of Orrander” Rosanne sighed rolling her eyes.

“Hello! If you just turn around and see if I’m real or not, your Highness!” Rosanne yelled.
The crown prince paused and slowly turned around.
Seeing the familiar fair lady in front of him, her golden brown hair in sight and ocean eyes that almost lit up the wh0le of Sylph.

“You’re real…”
