CHAPTER 50
~
Rosanne smiled. “Or perhaps your Highness. You should come to the Hayest festival yourself.”.

“Me..? In Orrander?” The crown prince snarled.
“Yes.” Rosanne nodded.
“I certainly cannot do that.”

“I promise your Highness. It will be an event you will never forget.” Rosanne beamed.
“I dare not step my feet out this castle, needless to say Orrander.” The crown prince stated sternly.

“I understand your Highness. But I really do have to be there.” Rosanne sighed.

“Of course. You may leave for this festival. And you shall return. It is an order. But I will not leave this castle. Not even in a thousand years” The crown prince snarled.

Rosanne bowed “I understand your Highness.”

Collin and Martha pulled away from their brief k-ss and remained quiet.

Martha finally spoke up “Well that was…
“Better than I expected” Collin interrupted.
“Maybe?” Martha tilted her head getting on her feet.
“Collin…” she called. “I think I’ll go in now.”

“Already? Alright then” Collin breathed out getting on his feet.

“Good night.” Martha rushed her words before making her way back home.

Collin breathed out a sigh before walking towards the opposite direction.

Rosanne slowly sat on the bed in her confided room and breathed out a sigh at her aching legs, she has been standing for ages, not understanding why the crown prince never wanted her to leave his side.

โ€œBut now I do know… Rosanne I like you…โ€

The crown prince’s words stumbled back into Rosanne’s head and she shook her head clicking her tongue behind her teeth.

“He probably finds me as a thing, some ‘thing’ likeable.” Rosanne shook her head. “His Highness needs to know when and how to use his words.”

Lying down on the bed, Rosanne shut her eyes and let the cool night’s wind take her to sleep.
:
The night was cold and quiet. And not a single sound could be heard around castle Sylph. Rosanne was fast asleep and only the sound of her soft breathing could be heard around her room.
The crown prince was wild awake and staring at the crescent moon in the sky, his eyes were blood red and his body’s temperature went higher than ever.

The horn shaped mark laying at the crown prince’s back suddenly start to get brighter and redder than his skin, the marked aligned and grew a little wยกder. The crown prince grunted silently at the sharp pain he felt, his body felt like it was breaking into pieces, and as the mark shone brighter the more it hurt.
When he couldn’t take it anymore he let’s out a loud hurtful scre-m that filled the quiet night.
*
The next day, Rosanne got up early to prepare the crown prince’s breakfast, she was a bit nervous about the day, because she knows she’d be leaving for the hayest festival by dawn the next day.
Striding through the passageway that led to the crown prince’s room, Rosanne breathed out a sigh as she stepped in front of the room. She was about to announce his breakfast when she stopped.
Her eyes wยกden in shock as she saw the crown prince on the floor.

“No…” she breathed out a sigh and shook her head negatively.

Rushing up to his bed and placing the tray of food on the hรฆrd bed. Rosanne rushed up to the crown prince’s body on the floor. It was not the first time he would passing out, and Rosanne clearly knew and felt that he was going to wake up. She didn’t have to rush all the way down and outside to fetch water from the well, he would wake up, he always did.

“Your Highness.” she called, at ease.
She wanted to touch him but recalled he had a slightly different body from every other human.

“Your Highness,” Rosanne yelled and like magic, the crown prince’s eyes fluttered open, with his Emerald mesmerizing eyes making Rosanne breath out a sigh of relief.
‘Good goodness.’ She had silently muttered

The crown prince remained calm as he watched Rosanne’s face above his eyes.

“Are you alright your Highness?” Rosanne asked.

The prince gave no reply and slowly sat up,his hair falling to his face as he got into a sitting position.
“What happened?” his Highness asked.

“I do not know your Highness. I came in here to serve breakfast and saw you on the floor. Thank goodness you’re okay.” Rosanne sighed, getting on her feet.

“Holy Mother of Orrander!” Rosanne gasped heavily, staring at the crown prince’s bare back. “Your Highness, that strange marking, that look like that of a horn has grown bigger.”

“Ignore it.” The crown prince snarled getting on his feet.

“But it is not okay, is it supposed to be there?” Rosanne blinked. “or is it supposed to be that big, or is it supposed to even grow?”

“I said ignore it.!” The crown prince yelled.

“Y-yes your Highness,” Rosanne bowed.

“I’ll take my leave now.” Rosanne added before walking out of the room.
~
The day went by so fast and Rosanne only saw the crown prince when she prepared his lunch and now she will be seeing him again, for supper.
Stepping into his room, Rosanne didn’t bother to announce as he was already standing by the door and waiting for her.

She gave a small bow and walked past him to his bed to drop the tray of his supper and as she made it back to the door, she paused and turned to him.
“Your Highness.. She started.
The crown prince looked a bit relieved that she wasn’t leaving immediately.

“Tomorrow by dawn. Just as the queen has ordered it to be and like I have mentioned the previous day, I will be leaving for Orrander for the festival.” Rosanne explained.

“And I know that.” The crown prince replied.
“Okay… I know you’re going to be fine, all by yourself your Highness.” Rosanne beamed.

The crown prince walked away from Rosanne and towards his window. “I changed my mind.” His deep voice breathed out.

Rosanne titled her head in confusion.

“I will not be staying here tomorrow, I will be leaving for Orrander too.”

“You will be attending the festival?” Rosanne gasped.
“I Will..” The crown prince turned to look at the sky that was slowly turning to its darkest shade of blue.
“The festival will take place in the night now am I right?” He asked.

“Yes. Yes it will” Rosanne beamed. “But why the sudden change of heart your Highness. I am not saying it’s bad, it is a good thing you want to come, but what is the reason.?”

“No reason… I mean.. It is Orrander after all. I was foolish for saying no at first, when it could be in front of me.”

Rosanne didn’t understand what the crown prince meant, so she just laughed it off and breathed out. “Well your mother, the queen and king will be pleased to hear this.”

“Exactly… The king… The Queen. Rulers of Orrander. I will be meeting with them.”
The crown prince’s voice sounded desperate and excited at the same time. But Rosanne could only hear the excitement in it.
