Dennis Asomani: Stop this concert and talk to me because as you are seeing me here am very annoyed and the way am charged up erh, if I get hold of that Michael of a boy the way I will discipline him erh his family won’t even recognise him. How could he subject that pretty lady to such beating like that? Was he thinking he was fighting his fellow man or what. If you saw the lady’s face as she was leaving the house like you might mistake her for Aryee Powers after receiving massive beating from Bukom Banku.

Collins Twumasi: Dennis this way that you are showing much interest in the beating, hope you don’t have your eyes for that lady?

Dennis Asomani: Well you see since we are buddies, I won’t hide things from you. Actually I have been making advances towards her but she is not giving the reception I want, she is playing so difficult for me to get.

Collins Twumasi: How are you expecting to land yourself such a pretty and expensive lady when your finances are not man enough? Thank your stars she has not given in to your demands because talking to you right now my head is banging like the church bell down the road.

Dennis Asomani: What do you mean by that my brother?

Collins Twumasi: Hmmmm you see I have been sharing her bed with her for sometime now if you understand what I mean…..

Dennis Asomani: (cuts in) Herh I say I am a smart guy but you are bad and serious. Eeeiii for you before I think you have thought and before I make a move you are already returning from the place I intended to move to. What is you secret and what motivates you. Tell me this, is she sweet like the way she dresses and looks?

Collins Twumasi: Hmmmm if you know what am about to tell you like you will run to the church for a special thanksgiving service.

Dennis Asomani: What is it bro? Have you impregnated her already?

Collins Twumasi: Stop this silly jokes and interruptions Dennis. See the guy was beating Agnes because she has infected him with STD.

Dennis Asomani: Huh!!! What did you just say my brother? Do you mean that beautiful, gorgeous, hot, sweet and succulent lady is a carrier of STD? Tell me you are joking and that you are pulling my legs so that I don’t continue pursuing her again!

Collins Twumasi: Do I look like a clown or a comedian? I am damn serious about what am saying and if you want you can continue with your advances.

Dennis Asomani: Then this girl has mess up big time but wait oooo, since you are also eating from the same bowl it means you have also gotten you share of the national cake ooo, you have also contracted the diesease ooo.

Collins Twumasi: That is the reason why I am sitted here quitely and the worse part is that my woman whom I will be settling down with very soon is also demanding for s€× without protection and as we are talking she should be here any moment from now.

Dennis Asomani: Oboy you are in a tight corner paa oooo, I don’t wish to be like you for even a second. Eeeiii you are really in a deep s***. My God thank you for saving me from this disease, herh so if she gave in to my demands like I will also be here thinking of how to get a solution to my problem erh. Well let me leave you to think about how you will solve your own problem wai. (rises to leave)

Collins Twumasi: Mmmm Dennis so how far with the orange seller you were pursuing? Have you gotten her already or she is playing hærd to get?

Dennis Asomani: Oh that one, I clear her already and she will even come and sign this evening also. You know I don’t waste time when women play in my territory, that girl is something else my brother, you need to see how she twist and whine her wa-ist when she on top of me. My brother never underestimate those sellers, I mean banku seller, orange seller, egg seller, groundnut seller, wakye seller, koko seller, tiger nut (atadwe) seller and not forgetting those who sell the local medicines. They can easily make you forget your name and where you come from, you need to try some one of this days when you cure yourself.

Collins Twumasi: Herh come and sit down because you have equally contracted the disease my brother.

Dennis Asomani: What do you mean by I have also contracted that disease? We are far from April you know!!!

Collins Twumasi: Well let me give you a breakdown of the wh0le thing, you see I have been firing the house girl of my boss also and the gateman also does fire her. On the other hand the orange seller is also a costumer of the gateman who have been sleeping with him like 6months now, I have caught them like 3times even as the were doing it. So have you seen the equation and picture clearly now?

Dennis Asomani: (takes his seat again) My God!!! This girl is wicked and I will kill her, she always lies to me that she is seeing only me and on the other hand I feel pity for her because I have been deceiving her of marriage all this while. I will kill her if she comes close to me this evening, because she has been cheating on me all this while with that stupid gateman.

Collins Twumasi: Please don’t kill her wai, you came to meet the gateman in the game first and do you now understand why Michael went to beat Agnes?

Dennis Asomani: Herh this is really serious, how can this girl do this to me after all what I did for her?

POLICE STATION:

Agnes Kyerewaa: Good morning officer please I want to lodge an assault complain but first I want to know if my uncle the commander is in his office?

Officer: He is not in at the moment but you can call him and find out his current location if you have his number. It will be prudent for me to take down your statement first then I will give you an extract or a police form so you take it to the hospital for treatment because I can see you have been brutally assaulted by some group of people.

Agnes Kyerewaa: Hmmmm actually it is one person who did this to me.

Officer: Is the person mad? Does the person see you as a punching bag or did you go stealing or flirting around with the person’s partner?

Agnes Kyerewaa: None of the above officer.

Officer: Well even if you did any of the things I mentioned, under no circ-mstances must the person put the law in his or her hands to damage your face like that. Even Bastie Samir didn’t do this to Bukom Banku on the day they fought each other. I will take your statement then direct you to the DOVSSU unit of the police station where a colleague of mine trained specially for this kind of crime will take over and tell you what to do.

As the statement of Agnes Kyerewaa was been taken the commander walks in and engages the officer at the counter in a conversation.

Officer: (stands in attention form) Under you sir!!! Good morning and welcome sir.

Commander: Good morning Constable. How are you and hope everything is under control?

Officer: Yes please.

Commander: Nice one, tell the station master to see me right away when you are done with the complainer infront of you. (takes some to his office)

Agnes Kyerewaa: Uncle good morning so didn’t you see me standing here?

Commander: (turns back to see who was talking) Excuse me who are you because I don’t know you but your voice sounds like my niece.

Agnes Kyerewaa: Uncle this Kyerewaa Agnes your niece.

Commander: Don’t be silly, how can my pretty niece look like a monster like you? My friend stop this nonsense before I make my boy lock you up for character impersonation.

Agnes Kyerewaa: Uncle it is me Kyerewaa your niece.

Commander: Gracious God, my goodness what happened to you or betterstill who did this to you? Constable bring her to my office and take the statement there rather.

The three people moved to the commander’s office and the statement of Agnes Kyerewaa is taken as she narrates her ordeal and whatever happened to her to the very end.

Commander: Herh so this stupid boy had the audacity, tenacity and capacity to lay his filthy hands on you after taking you for a ride huh. Doesn’t he know the family you are coming from or does he think you don’t have a family which will stand to fight for you? Constable get me the Swat Unit Commander right now because we are going for an emergency arrest operation. I will squeeze life out of this idiot who had the nerves to lay a finger on you.

OPANA’s HOUSE:

Akua Yankey: Kwaku Mike my instincts is battling my conscience, am getting a premonition that something bad is about to happen. I want you to leave the house to my younger brother’s place for sometime my son, when I and your father put things under control I will send a word over for you to come.

Michael Ansah: Mummy you worry too much, nothing will happen to me in this house. Agnes can’t do anything because she has no one to run to, I am waiting for her and what she has to offer and I promise to face her squarely.

Akua Yankey: My son don’t ever underestimate the power of a woman, women have a way of doing things to get men in serious trouble. Don’t say I didn’t warn you when the worse happens oooo, I have seen some before.

Michael Ansah: Mummy that was then in the past and now is present and the 21st century. Don’t worry yourself over a toothless bull dog because it can’t bite.

Akua Yankey: Yooo!!! Am advicing you and you are rubbing your testicles. Time will tell

___

Bernice Ansah: Big bro please listen to the wise counsel mummy is giving to you before is too late ooo, the stubborn fly has always ended up in the grave with the corpse so please don’t walk freely into this open trap.

Michael Ansah: Shut up young lady, the lion doesn’t need a safe journey from his family because he knows how to hunt down his prey and journey back home safe without fear or anxiety. I will advice you to stay off my back anytime an issue of mine pops up. I won’t repeat myself to you again.

Akua Yankey: Adjoa Bernice if he doesn’t want to listen to me or you, let him be and I hope what am feeling is just one of those unnecessary things I waste my time and mind on.

All of a sudden there is this heavy knock on the door of the house.

Akua Yankey: Ah who is knocking on the door like he or she is deaf? Bernice check on the person at the door.

Bernice Ansah: (moves to the door to check who was behind the door) Hello sir please who are you looking for?

Visitor: Is you father or mother in?

Bernice Ansah: My father is not in but my mum is the one currently at home.

Akua Yankey: (scre-ming from behind) Bernice who is there and what does he or she want?

Bernice Ansah: Mummy it’s a man and he asking of papa or you.

Akua Yankey: Then why are you keeping him there without ushering him in? Let him come in so I find out his reason for coming over to this place.

Bernice Ansah: Am sorry sir, please come in and make yourself comfortable.

Visitor: Oh that is nice but I didnt come here to exchange pleasantries with you or any member of this house. I am Detective Sergeant Kwaku-Duah and as you see me so am here to arrest your son Michael Ansah. Kindly tell me where he is or everyone in here will be charged with “obstruction of duty charges”.

Bernice Ansah: (trembling) Sir please he is the one standing there.

Visitor: Oh nice so you are the woman beater erh? Well you cup is full today and the laws of the country will rigidly deal with you. You are under arrest and your have the right to be silent or anything that you say will be used against you in the court of law, also you have the right to an attorney. (brings out a handcuff from his back pocket)

Michael Ansah: Am not resisting arrest so there will be no need for the handcuff.

Visitor: Are you the one to teach me how to do my job? Do you know how many people who had a similar problem like yours that I have professionally dealt with the matter?

Bernice Ansah: Please what has my brother done that you are trying to handcuff him even though he is not resisting arrest?

Akua Yankey: Yes my daughter is right and moreover you have not shown us any form of identification even though you mentioned your name and rank, how do we know if truly you are a police officer?

Visitor: I can see you know your rights here in this house but you couldn’t tame this monster of yours from attacking that young lady. Do you know the damage he has done to the face of that lady? Well I didn’t come alone so if you want to know if am genuine or not, just step foot out of this room and you can confirm for yourself. (speaks into his walkingtalker, eagle one to bravo team; package received and conveying it to charlie checkpoint so take cover and wait for delivery)

Akua Yankey: (follows her son and the officer out) Jesssssssssus Christ!!! Why this number of armed police officers in my compound like this? My son is not a land guard or any notorious robber so why are you people creating a scene here in my house. Herh Bernice get me my phone so I call your father to inform him of what has just happened here since he is the man of the house.

Bernice Ansah: Eeiiiii mummy I didn’t know sister Aggie will go this far to get all this police officers here in just a twinkle of an eye. I am even shocked and surprise at her action, she should at least consider you and papa before taking such decision. I won’t forgive her if anything happens to my only brother oooo!!!

Akua Yankey: Herh get me the phone and stop this too known attitude you are displaying here. But Agnes you could have first approached me so we solve this problem home in an amicable way, you know you are like my own daughter.

Agnes Kyerewaa: What are you saying Maame Akua, if I were to be your daughter or your blood will you be there to talk about solving this matter in the house amicably? See how he has transformed my pretty face to that of a burglar who has been caught by a mob, please officers get him out of here because his presence alone makes me feel like throwing up.

Visitor: (puts Kwaku Mike in one of the Nissan Navara cars that they came with) Madam you can follow us immediately as we leave this place for the station which is in the next town.

Bernice Ansah: (walks in and hands her mother’s phone to her) So mummy they are taking him to the police station for real? If I was having my phone on me like I would have called the commander to assist us on this issue.

Visitor: No need for that my dear because the person your brother assaulted happens to be the niece of the commander so my boss is really annoyed and very interested in this case. See you later the station, guys let’s move out.

Akua Yankey: My God what is happening now, your father’s phone is not connecting, the call continues to drop without I been told if the phone is off or out of coverage area. My enemies are at work.

Meanwhile almost everyone in the compound has come out to witness what the police came to do in the house. The police cars leaves the house and almost everyone goes back to his or her room. At the corner of the house some tenants are engaging in a conversation

Hajia Kubra: But Agnes didn’t try at all ooo, she should at least considered her decision from going to the police station. This matter could have been resolved peacefully in this house with every medical bill been taken care of by the landlord and his family.

Eno Bruwa: Oh did you say she didn’t try? Hajia am very disappointed in you, see how that foolish boy has spoilt that pretty girl’s face, if I were the victim or related to the girl like how I will stretch this matter erh, the supreme court would have been where we will end up. But all the same it will serve as a lesson to him, next time he will not treat any lady like a punching bag again.

Hajia Kubra: Ah Eno Bruwa don’t talk like you are not a mother and don’t make me think you are rejoicing in the agony of that family?

Eno Bruwa: Hehehe so if am a mother and my child fools around will I continue to pamper him or her for his or her foolishness to escalate? That girl has even given it to them at a wh0lesale price but if it were to be me erh, like you will clap for me.

Akua Yankey: (who has been standing behind them for sometime and listening to their conversation) Thank you very much Eno Bruwa for your good intention towards my family. I am very grateful.

Eno Bruwa: (feeling ashamed and wondering if Akua Yankey heard all that came out from her mouth) Oh hmmm my dear, I am very sad with the way things have turn out to be. At least this girl should have considered you and how generous your family is to we the tenants. If she comes back home, I will sit her down and advice her to go and withdraw her charges against your son. Am very very worried and I pray this matter doesn’t go overboard or what do you think Hajia?

Hajia Kubra: (looks at Eno Bruwa with an utmost surprise written all over her face) Hmmm I don’t even know what to say but I urge you to to be strong Maame Akua. I can only try to feel what you are passing through in this very difficult moment, please if there is anything I can do to help never hesitate to call on me. I beg to take leave since I have something on the fire (walks away quitely)

Akua Yankey: Thank you very much Hajia for sympathizing with me and my family but for you Eno Bruwa, I don’t know what to say to you. (takes leave from the place)

Eno Bruwa: (murmuring to herself) Hmmm did I say anything wrong? Me I don’t condone certain foolish things so if she heard it or not, me I spoke my mind and I hope she will not inform her husband as to the things she heard from my mouth. This my big mouth will one day land me in serious trouble paa oooo.

AT THE POLICE STATION

Commander: Is that the dimwit that turned my niece into a punching bag?

Station Master: Yes sir, I have ordered one of the CID’s on duty to take his statement right away.

Commander: I know you are trying to act professional and follow the procedures that we put suspects through but with this fool sitting there I want to deal with him in a very special way so lock him in the cell first, I have a brief meeting with the regional commander and when am back we will know what to do with him so that he will never raise a finger at any woman ever again in his miserable life. When you go and smoke your stupid herbs then you channel your attention to innocent people whiles you could use that strength to do something meaningful to your life.

Michael Ansah: Excuse me sir, with all due respect you can’t call me names and I want to make things clear to you or any of your officers that I don’t smoke neither do I drink. What you are planning to do is against my human right, even for your men to allow me make a single call to my attorney or any family member who can come and bail me, they have bluntly refused. I hope you can answer questions to how bad you and your men treated me when this matter gets to the media.

How to grow your business while you stay at home
Commander: Oh I see!!! So you know what human rights stand for and you took the law into your hands to assault that innocent young lady. Well unfortunately for you that girl is my niece and I won’t sit for any stupid idiot to manhandle her and go about freely. I will also deal with you in a way that you will not forget in hurry, I hate women beaters and today you will drop that attitude of beating women. Inspector Kafui see to it that he is put behind bars and let the cell commandos deal with him in,side there, I will be back shortly after the meeting, take charge of the station and handle everything that comes here.

Michael Ansah is locked in,side the cell and immediately the cell commandos descend on him with slaps from all angles, he tries to fight back but he is outnumbered and the punches that he received made him start to cry. Fortunately for him the cell leader instructed the cell commandos to stop beating him and tell them what brought him to his part of the world. After his introduction and telling him his offense the cell leader realises that Michael Ansah was his classmate back at the primary school so he ordered everyone not to touch him again or even yell at him again in,side the cell, he was immediately moved to the VVIP part of the cell so he could feel comfortable. In no time Akua Yankey and Bernice Ansah arrived at the police station crying on top of their voices as if Kwaku Mike has been jailed by court order.
