Back at Quincy’s room:

Michael Ansah: Hey man you are back so early, I thought the place you were to pick your man is a bit far from here so why are you here so soon or did you forget something?

Quincy: Yes I forgot something when I got to the middle of my quist so I had to come back for it. Hey this that you have laid the bed and the shower is on in the bathroom, don’t tell me that, that girl has paid you a surprise visit? Let me pick what I came here for and run along so that I don’t ruin your special moment but please be fast because Maabena called me earlier on to inform me of coming here when she closes from work. You might as at now seen that she is the mischievous type and can act hostile sometimes so don’t let her come and meet you love birds together, before I forget please take it easy on her because the nails in my bed are not that strong again. I know what you are capable of doing when you get a woman in your web so please be gentle on her. (quickly gets what he came for and runs outside)

Michael Ansah: (gives a breath of relieve) Gosh this was a narrow escape, was this the sign that this necklace was giving to me? No I can’t betray Quincy like that, he has been so good to me and I can’t pay him back with evil. He really loves Maabena and sleeping with her today will rather put me in a very compromising state that I can’t walk out easily. Looking at how desperate Maabena is, she is going to be a thorn in my flesh and I wouldn’t like a woman to bring confusion or misunderstanding between Quincy and I. I won’t bow to this temptation and for the very first time in my life I will resist a very s€×y and succulent lady’s offer. Do unto others what you want them to do unto you.

Maabena Boaduwaa: (walks out from the bathroom unclad) Surprise!!! I was waiting for you in,side there but you didn’t show up and I thought I heard you talking to someone?

Michael Ansah: Yes you heard right, your man walked in just when you entered the bathroom, the lucky part of this thing is that I collected your uniform and underwears and kept it over there if not like we would be in a hot soup right now. Maabena you know what, let’s pretend as if this thing never happened between the two of us.

Maabena Boaduwaa: What do you mean by tell me that we should pretend this thing never happened between the two of us?

Michael Ansah: My dear don’t try to play smart or naive, I was very stupid and foolish to have k-ssed you and called for your libido but please let’s just hold it there as to where we got to. I will never ever in my life betray your boyfriend and stab him in the back by sleeping with the woman he loves and cherishes most on this earth. Please find something to wear before he walks in again, I don’t know how I will explain myself to him when he comes to meet you like this.

Maabena Boaduwaa: If what you are saying is a joke you better put a stop to it because some jokes are freaking expensive. (takes some steps forward to where Kwaku Mike is standing).

Michael Ansah: Young lady stay just where you are, do I look like a comedian or a clown? See I was very stupid but I have gained my sanity back, as I said earlier on, I will pretend as if this encounter never happened between the two of us. Quincy is a very good guy and he deserves the best from you because all his life he has never rained any praises on a lady before apart from you, not even his mother gets that opportunity so please concentrate on how you can make this relationsh¡p work.

Maabena Boaduwaa: (claps her hands for Kwaku Mike) Woooow what a very nice speech or should I call it state of the nation address? Righteousness counsellor, chastity coordinator, decency minister, moral lesson landlord, see no one puts his or her hand in the food meant for the spirits and goes away without repercussion. You think you can ar-use my feelings and leave me unattended to like that? Hehehe massa you have played the war drum to call for the spirits to rise up so just respect yourself and come and dance to it, play your special role assigned to you with utmost decency or else I will make your life unbearable for you.

Michael Ansah: Is that a threat or you want to blackmail me?

Maabena Boaduwaa: You can choose to call it anything you want but don’t blame me for any repercussions that comes your way if you fail to quench the fire you have lighted up in my soul. Nobody sees my uncladness and goes free on this earth, you better drink deep or taste not. Remember I have you in my palms and at a snap of my finger it will cause your doom. Sampson didn’t get a prior notice from Delilah like he will tread cautiously with her, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Michael Ansah: Maabena you must be out of your mind if you think I will succ-mb to this empty threats, see I and your man have been friends for a very long time and one thing I can never share with him is the v****a he enjoys and wishes to keep it to himself in some few months away. Learn to respect yourself and have value for yourself, I can share his dress, food, money and even his parents with him but for you I will and can never share you with him. Becareful on the grounds you are threading on because it is very dangerous, a word should be enough for the wise. (walks out of the room without looking back)

Maabena Boaduwaa: (scre-ming) Come back here Kwaku Mike and finish what you started, you can’t turn me on and make me so w-t then you turn you back at me like I am an infested piece of wood. If you don’t know me very well go and ask of me as to how many men I have gotten into serious trouble and those who have passed away through my hands. Don’t give me a reason for me to go back to my old ways because I swear by heaven and earth that you won’t like the outcome of the things I will so do to you, this guy has the tenacity and audacity to walk out on me but hey no man has ever had that stupid courage to resist me before not to talk about seeing my uncladness and walking away like am his fellow man. For this gruesome disrespect I will make you crawl on you knees to beg for mercy from me Kwaku Mike.

Outside Quincy’s house:

Michael Ansah: (talking to himself) Ah this was a narrow escape, for the very first time in my life I have been able to defeat the demands of the flesh, if I wasn’t strong enough like this girl would have lead me to harms way. The bible speaks bad about covetting your neighbours property, I know this act was what king David did that made him lose favour from God as a great king. Quincy for all that you have done for me I will never stab you in the back or cheat on you with your woman even if she throws herself at me. (sees Quincy coming his way with the motorbike)

Quincy: Yoo what’s up with you my guy? Why are you sitting here all alone, why has the prepaid finished?

Michael Ansah: Oh not at all, I just want to enjoy fresh air outside here and watch what is going on around here. Secondly your woman is in so I decided to give her some privacy since the room is a single room and I believe she would like to freshen up after coming back from work.

Quincy: Hmmmm you have a point to some extent my brother, living in a single room is of high discomfort sometimes. Let me rush in,side and see her reason for coming over so she goes back home early, we agreed that she will only come here once in a week so she must stay to the plan.

Michael Ansah: But hey why are you back again, did you leave something behind again?

Quincy: Oh bro that guy is not a serious person, he called me not to come again because his company sent a driver to pick him up. Let me rush in,side and check up on Maabena, I don’t want her to start any troubles with me this afternoon. (walks into the house)

Michael Ansah: (gives a breath of relieve) Gosh so if I was so foolish and greedy enough what would have been my fate this afternoon, how was I going to defend myself before Quincy? What on earth would be my reason for banging his lover? What would have happened to our friendsh¡p? Would Maabena accept the fact that it was a consensual s€× or she will label me a rapist? Anywhich way I will do my best to flee from her troubles and sed-ction, I wouldn’t know the next strategy that she will bring on board but all the same I give all the praise to God and this mysterious necklace my dad gave to me. I need to even call him(Opana) now and check up on everyone back home, I miss my little troublesome sister Bernice, I know she might be now angry with me as I left the village without saying goodbye to her and I also miss my sweet mother’s groundnut soup, hmmmm indeed when you are born a man you are born to face troubles but whatever the case will be, I Michael Ansah a half breed Akuapem and a half breed Fanti, I will face the matter squarely without looking back or running from it………
