CHAPTER 43
~
Pushing the heavy w-t logs on his back to the floor, Garam pulled Rosanne into a hug.

“I never dreamed I’d be seeing you so soon…” Garam smiled.

“How I missed you Garam” Rosanne smiled.

“But what happened to you?” Garam asked, stepping out of the hug and staring at Rosanne’s neck.
Rosanne laughed. “Clumsy me. I tripped on the stairs and I got scratched by the antikas holder”.

“You really have to be careful now.” Garam breathed out a smile.

“I promise I will be” Garam smiled.

“Now move… It’s been ages since I’ve seen Collin and Martha.” Rosanne beamed, shoving Garam aside, who couldn’t help but smile.

“Careful now” Garam smiled, as Rosanne rushed up to Martha and Collin.

“It is so good to see you again Collin.” Rosanne smiled, trying to give Collin a hug when Garam stepped in between them.
“Disrespectful.” He smiled at Rosanne who glowered at him.
“Worry not Rosanne, we shall do that another time.” Collin winked.

“In your dead dreams you would” Garam snarled at Collin who laughed.

Rosanne slowly turned to Martha who stood straight despite the heavy logs she was carrying on her back, she was about five inches taller than Rosanne, and clearly from their awkward stare, both girls were not on good terms.

“How are you doing Martha?” Rosanne asked politely.
“Not very fine you see.” Martha smiled.

Rosanne gasped. “What happened to your hair?”
“She cut it off, so she wouldn’t get married to Gregory.” Collin laughed.

“Shut up you dimwit!” Martha nudged Collin almost causing him to fall flat on the floor, but luckily Garam caught him.

“Aggressive as always, good thing Rosanne’s here, at least you’ll learn a few things or so” Garam scoffed.
“Garam” Rosanne shook her head at him.

“What? I’m not wrong.” Garam shrugged.

“I’ll get going now” Martha said before walking away.

“Now you made her mad.” Rosanne sighed.
“She’s been like that, she’s not really mad, she’ll come around, I promise” Garam grinned.
“Fine then.” Rosanne sighed.

“Collin… You can take your leave now, my lady is here and well you know what that means.” Garam shrugged.

Collin rolled his eyes with a smile, before waving goodbye to Rosanne and walking away.
“Now, let’s head in,side, you must be tired, i am sure the journey from the castle to Orrander wasn’t easy” Garam expounded, leading Rosanne into the cottage.

The crown prince sat alone in his room, his body heating up and sweats all over his forehead, causing some of his dark hair to lay in patterns on his forehead.
Suddenly he felt the presence behind him and got on his feet angrily.

“You monster! She left because of you!” The crown prince yelled.

“You are the monster! She left because of us” The presence replied in return, giving out a beast ful laugh.

The crown prince walked towards the wall and with a yell, he punched the then a table at the end of the wall, dividing the table in three and giving the wall some crack h0les.

“I’ll never forgive you!” The crown prince yelled furiously and immediately felt the force of the presence walk into his body, and with another yell, he started to thrash the place, almost bringing down his room.

His eyes red and bloody… His body hotter than a firey sea. He was never going to forgive himself.

“What are you doing here alone?” Collin asked, as he came across Martha sitting behind Orrander’s hidden river.

“I could ask you the same exact question.” Martha retorted, throwing little stones into the water
“Well my good friend Garam ditched me for his lovely bride so I am left alone, I figured you’d be here so…” Collin shrugged, sitting beside Martha on the dry grass and rocks.

“Hmph!” Martha shrugged. “Good for us.”

“Exactly, good for us.” Collin smiled.

Collin grabbed a handful of tiny stones and starts to throw them into the water just like Martha, both of them quiet, not saying anything until Martha sighed and got on her feet.
She started to go into the water and turned to collin.

“Can I talk to you about something collin?” she asked.
“Of course.” collin shrugged.

“Promise me, it will be just between us” Martha raised her brows.

“I Cross my heart!” Collin crossed his hand over his chest, curiously waiting for Martha to say whatever she wanted, whenever.
“Okay…” Martha nodded, stepping deeper into the river and letting the water soak her clothes. “Can I also rant and complain to you?” Martha asked.

“I don’t know what this is about, but it’s okay, we all need to rant some times.” collin shrugged.
Martha breathed in and out, she bit her bottom lip and shut her eyes as she said. “Okay then, is it okay for me to say I hate Rosanne.”

Collin blinked, his hand slowly down as he tilt his head at the girl in front of him. “Why?.. Rosanne? I mean why would you hate Rosanne?” collin shrugged. “Wait, did she do something to you?”

Martha rolled her eyes. “She did nothing to me but… Ugh I never wanted to hate her, I do not hate her, I don’t know… I hate her but at the same time I’m not. I mean why am I being compared to her with every little thing I do, she’s not the only one alive, I am sick of it and it makes me feel like I’m no good. You.. My Mother.. Garam… Even my father. I am sick of it. I do not hate Rosanne, but the comparison is making me think I do. But now I think I really do hate her ”

Collin got on his feet.
“Is this about what Garam said earlier?”

“No.. And yes.” Martha sighed. “I mean… Why me…? Is it something bad that I was born after Rosanne.” Martha yelled.
“Don’t tell me you’re jealous Martha… You’re not right?” collin shook his head.

Martha raised her head head up at him, dipping her head into the water and bringing it back up, her eyes gathered tears as she said.
“Yes I am jealous of Rosanne, she’s girly and beautiful, everyone loves her, she’s getting married to Garam, gets to work at a castle, who wouldn’t want that. I want to be girly too, I want to be loved by everyone. I want people to see me and call out my name like they love me. I’m sick of being compared to someone I can never be like.” Martha cried.

“Martha” collin called stepping into the water.
“You don’t have to be jealous of Rosanne… Who said you have to be girly to be pretty?” collin scoffed.

“No one did. But Rosanne is really pretty” Martha sniffed.

“And so are you… You’re very pretty, okay fine you do not wear dresses that much and maybe your hair’s a little bit shorter now, but you’re one of the most prettiest girl I have ever laid my eyes on, here in Orrander” collin smiled.

“Really? Or are you just trying to make me feel better!”

“I am not!” collin shook his head. “Have you seen you before, try to look at your reflection in the water, you are an epitome of beauty and sorry to those who calls or think of you as ugly, because they are bird brains, you are very beautiful Martha and I will keep saying that, and who cares if everyone doesn’t love you, I love you, and I know your mother and father do too and I know Garam does too and so does Rosanne, our love for you kills the majority… You’re loved Martha, do not forget that” collin smiled.

Martha sniffed and remained quiet until she asked. “Can I give you a hug collin?”.

“Oh… So suddenly.” collin gave a nervous laugh.

“Can I…?” Martha asked.
“Of course” collin smiled and paused when he was suddenly ambushed by Martha with a bear hug.

“Now you tell anyone about this conversation and you die.” Martha sniffed, pulling out of the hug and wiping her tears.

The night was young and cold and the quietness around castle sylph was overwhelming.
Seated alone in his room and on his bed, looking around his thrashed room, the crown prince looked drained and tired as his breathing were loud enough to take over the wh0le castle.

Suddenly he heard a knock on his door, and his head snapped towards the door.

โ€œYour Highness.. It’s me Rosanne, I brought supperโ€ The crown prince heard, and immediately, he walked towards the door and opened it almost it tearing it down.
Stepping out of his room, he looked sideways at the passageway only to see no one but darkness and emptiness. But he had just heard Rosanne’s voice.

The crown prince yelled in agony as he pulled down the door to his room, breaking it into pieces.
