ANDREA POV
I sat on the bed feeling terrified and embarrassed.
It would have been better if some one else had caught us but it had to be Max mother,I looked up and saw the degrading look she gave me and then at her son.
“I just asked a question? What’s going on here?” She asked
“What does it look like Mom?”Max asked as he sat on the bed Starring at her
“Did you two really……”
“Yes mom, we did. I love Andrea and she loves me, it’s only Normal for us to want each other” he said interrupting
“You foolish boy,I told you to stay away right? Don’t you know that you can’t be with her”she asked
“You have told me mom but you can do nothing to stop your heart and my heart belongs to Andrea”he said and was rewarded with a slap.
“Am not done with you yet and you !”she yelled as she look at me
She was coming towards me but Max was up to stop her
“Leave her alone mom, talk to me,insult me but just leave her alone”Max said as he stood protecting me
“Get out of my way Max, you have become crazy and it’s all because of that girl, I told you to stay away from my son, I called you in thinking you were a good child and would listen to my plea but it turns out that you are nothing but a slut!”she yelled at me
“Stop it mom! “Max said as he pushed her back
“What should I stop, she is a slut who sed-ced you and got you to sleep with her, she claims to be moral when she is nothing but an easy thing, you must be satisfied after sleeping with her right?” She kept on yelling like a lunatic.
“Andrea hurry and get dressed in the bath room, I will deal with her” He said as began to pull her out of his room in his under wear.
I sat on the bed still reeling from what just happened.
“She is a slut” His mother words Kept getting into my head and it hurt, it hurt just to be called that.
I got out of bed and put on my clothes and I would have left if Max hadn’t returned..
I couldn’t look at him, I couldn’t even think straight, all I wanted was to be alone,I thought as I began to leave the room only for him to take my hand
“We have……….”
“Please! Let me go “I said as I held back the tears
“Don’t let what she said get to you Andrea, I ………”
“I want to be alone Max, please leave me alone”I said as I pull away from him and went out of the room.
I ran downstairs and went to the maid quaters, luckily my mom wasn’t in the room and so I could have all the privacy I want.
I sat on the bed still shaking from the shock, from one moment every thing was going smoothly and I was in the arms of the guy I love and then the next thing his mother walking in on us and calling me names.
Just thinking about it all got me feeling scared, I held onto the bed and close my eyes trying to get it out of my head but instead I saw Max, Max reassuring smile and I remembered what he said in the room.
He loves me just as much as I love him but am sure that his mom would do her best to keep us apart now.
The door opened and my Mom walked in and judging by the expression on her face she must have heard what happened.
“What is going on? The boss had come to me to tell me that……..”
“It’s true”I said softly
“So you are saying that you and the young master are In love ?” She asked and I nodded softly
“And what she said about you sleeping with him, is it true?”she asked
“It- it is”I replied
“Andrea!!” she called looking angry.
“I know that sleeping with him is wrong but I can’t apologise for falling in love with him mom, I love him a lot mom” I said as the tears kept falling.
I was expecting her to reproach me some more but all I got was her hug.
I stood in her arms, crying hærd and just then the door opened to reveal Max mother.
“Surprised to see me here right? Well we aren’t through with our discussion”She yelled at me
Quickly my Mom pushed me behind her and she tried to defend me
“I know that what my child had done is wrong …….”
“What! You call that wrong ? You call sed-cing and sleeping with my son wrong! “She asked interrupting my mom
“She didn’t do it just to sed-ce him, they both love each other and they ………”
“They aren’t in love, they are only confusing Lust with love, a lust which your daughter caused”she yelled starring at me
“Why are you here? I told you to talk to me, not to talk to her” Max said as he walked in
“Why will my daughter be the one at fault, your son also sed-ced her”My mom defended me
“What? Are you saying that my son lacks taste and would go after your nonetity daughter”She said
“Have told you already! I told you that I saw her first, I fell for her first ,so please stop it mom and lets go” Max said but she wasn’t listening to him
“You had your chance Andrea,I gave you a chance but you chose to throw it away. then you will live regretting…….. “She couldn’t complete her sentence because Max covered her mouth and pulled her out of the house.
I stood still, long after they were gone crying and wishing I could be swallow up by earth at that precise moment.
“It’s going to be okay my child”She said as she held me tight in her arms
MAX POV
“Just what is your problem!!!”I yelled as I pushed her into the study
“You!you are my problem, no mother will sit back and watch her son go down the drain”she said
“What does my loving Andrea have to do with me going down the drain?” I asked too in anger
“You are Max Callaghan,The only heir to the Callaghan empire, the daughter of maid won’t just do for us!”She yelled
“The way to talk makes me feel sick and I don’t care if she is the daughter of a maid, she is the girl I love, the only one I want mom”I said
“Well you will have to love some one else, She won’t do for us, we don’t want her for you”She said softly
“Do you realise that we are talking about my life here?”
“I do know and that is why we won’t let you be with that girl”She said
“You have no choice mom, you saw what happened up stairs, I didn’t use protection, she could be pregnant with my child now and…….”
“She will get rid of it”She said caughting me off
“What?”
“You heard me, no daughter of a maid will ruin your life as as soon as I can, they will be sent out of this place and I promise you Max, I will make sure that they don’t have a place to work for”She said and that got to me.
“Why won’t you just leave us alone!”I said in anger
“Do I have to answer that, you should be begging to let them stay, you should be having a bargain with me right now”She said
“Is every thing about you always business?”I asked feeling hurt by the way she was treating my life like it was a business deal
“Tell me what you are willing to sacrifice for that girl?”She asked ignoring my other question
“Mom!”I called and she looked at me
“Tell me what you are willing to do for that girl?”she asked Impatiently
“If I promise to stay away from Andrea, you will leave her and her mother alone, let them keep on working here, they have no place to go, neither do they have the money”
“So you are willing to stay away just so you can keep on living here?”She asked
“Yes I am”
“That won’t be enough”
“What more do you want from me?” I asked
“Get engaged to Rose at the party tomorrow and I promise that I will leave Andrea and her mom here and only on the condition that you stay away”She said
“You really want to Reck my life right?”I asked
“What are you willing to do for that girl?” She asked again
“Fine then, I will get engaged to Rose and stay away from Andrea as long as you stick to your word and leave Andrea alone”I said
“It’s a deal, you will be an moving your engagement tomorrow”she said as she turned to her laptop doing what ever on it.
Sadly I walked out of the study and turned towards the maid quaters, I wanted to go to her, to assure her that all will be well like before but I can’t do that, if I want her to be well, I have to stay away from her, I thought as I headed back to my room.

ANDREA POV
I woke up the next day only to see that our luggage have been packed.
But how? Who?…….I couldn’t finish asking myself that question because I saw my mom by the closet packing the rest of our things
“What are you doing mom?”I asked and she turned to look at me.
“Packing, we can’t stay here anymore”She said softly
“You know we can’t leave here”I said ask went to her
“Yes we can, I will get another job and you can keep on going to your school”she said softly
“You know we can’t afford to leave right now, we have no where to go”
“The savings I have will get us a cheap house to rent”She said and I looked away feeling guilty
“What’s wrong”she asked not missing the look on my face
“I used the savings money for your operation mom”
“So we don’t have any money to rely on”I finished feeling very guilty.
She stood shocked for a while and sat on the floor.
“So we have to stay here?”she asked and i nodded
“We have to”I replied as I sat on the floor with her
“What will we do about the boss? will you stay here and suffer because of her son” She asked
“Don’t worry about me mom, I will be fine”I said
She stared at me for a long time and hugged me.
“When it’s suffocating and hærd for you, tell me, I will do my best to get you out of here” She said and I found the tears coming but I held back.
I won’t let my mom see me cry, not again, I thought.

“I will skip the study session today”
“But why?”Beatrice asked as we both chatted on the phone.
“I have things to do”I replied
“Fine then, we will just do it with out you, Max is not coming too ,so that makes the two of you”she said.
“See you on Monday then”I said and clicked off the phone.
I sighed and walked off to the garden, Max isnt able to go and that is because a party is being held or should I call it a luncheon.
Ever since the incident I haven’t seen him, not even a glimpse of him, I might get to see him at the Party.
He is probably keeping his distance, his mom wouldn’t stay back and let things get more messier.
I guess I will just have to see him at the party,I thought.
I turned only to see Max standing there and he was starring at me.
He look haggard and judging by his face,he didn’t have a good sleep,I can tell because I also suffered the same thing.
I saw him clench his fist and then he turned to leave, with out even saying any thing to me.
“Max!”I called and he stopped
“Aren’t you even going to say hello”I said as I stared at him, he still had his back turn to me
“Let’s break up”he said instead
“What?”
“You heard me,Let’s break up! Let’s pretend we don’t know one another, whenever you see me ignore me, I will also do the same”He said shattering my heart into pieces
“Was that what your mother asked in exchange for us to keep staying here?”I asked
“That shouldn’t concern you, just do as I say Andrea, it’s for the best”
“It might be the best for you but it’s not for me but I know that if I should insist on us being in a relationsh¡p,I will put you in more difficult situation,so I will do as you say, I will ignore you and pretend not to know you”I said starring at his back.
“Good then, let’s keep our distance, I will take my leave first”he said
“No Max! Let me do that,I will leave first”I said and that’s because I don’t want him to see me cry.
Quickly I walked past him and though it hurts so much, I will just have to stay away.
MAX POV
I stood watching her leave,I would have gone to her but remembering what my mother had said to me, I took the other path leading to the entrance of the house.
A car was there and I saw Rose parents getting out of the car and then Rose herself, why is she here? We were just going to talk about the engagement with her parents,does she have to be here? I thought as I went towards them greeting them.
“Welcome”my mom said as she walked out to welcome them.
“It’s so nice to see you again”Rose father said shaking my mom.
“What about Max father?”her mom asked
“Well he cant make it today but he has asked me to proceed with every thing, shall we”She said as we all began to walk in
“Hello Max”Rose said beside me and I remembered some thing .
If Rose should see that Andrea works here, she will certainly make it known to every one at school that Andrea is nothing but a liar.
I have to tell Andrea to leave the house,so she won’t be caught.
“Am talking to you Max”Rose said jolting me to reality
“Whatever you have to say will have to wait, I need to do some thing, excuse me”I said to the adult who were ahead of us
“I need to do some thing,I will be real quick”I said as I ran off.
I went to the maid quater insearch of Andrea only to see her mom
“Please is Andrea home?”I asked
“Why? Do you want to cause more problem for her” her mother replied
“I just want to talk to her?”I said
“I think it’s best that you leave my daughter alone, she has been through a lot young master,so please let her live here with out more worries”she begged me softly
“I know that have been the problem in her life and believe me when I say that I would like to talk about it with you but I have to see Andrea first, please where is She?”I asked
“She went out to do some food shopping” she replied
“That’s a relief, please make sure she doesn’t do any thing during the luncheon, tell her that she should stay locked in or better yet she should leave the house,it’s really important”I said and quickly went back to the guest.
ANDREA POV
“Am back mom”I called as I put the groceries on the table.
“Your mom went out to do some serving”a maid replied
“Oh,I will just wait here for her”I said
“Instead of waiting, can you help me take this to the luncheon, I still need to finish here”she said handing me a tray full of des**t.
I didn’t want to go there or to see Max but i can’t refuse to help, after all am also a maid some how.
I took the tray and head out to the room where the luncheon will be held only for me to stop when I saw Max standing beside Rose.
Rose was leaning on him while he held her by the wa-ist.
“Don’t they look perfect!”I heard a man say
“Of course they do, that was why we chose Rose, she is perfect for my son”Max mom added
“Now that you two are engaged, we should prepare for the wedding right?”A lady whom I presume to Rose mother said happily.
“Isn’t that too soon”max said
“Of course not, the earlier they prepare for us, the better”Rose said and then she k-ssed Max on the cheek.
As quietly as I came, I went back to the kitchen.
I can’t believe that Max is now engaged to Rose, is that why he told us to break us,so he could be with Rose.
“Oh you are back! Uh Max came to see me earlier and told me to tell you not to do any thing at the luncheon,he even said that you should stay in your room till it ends, do you know why he would say such a thing?”My mother said as she walked into the kitchen.
“To hide the truth “I said softly still thinking of what I heard earlier
“What truth?” She asked
“Nothing, I will be back soon”I said as I head out side.
ROSE POV
“It’s now done, am Max fiancee”I said into the phone as I walked out of the mansion
“Oh he is taking it well but………”I stopped when I saw Andrea walking out of the house
“Isn’t that Andrea!”I said as I cut the call
What is she doing here,I thought as I ran after her .
She hasn’t noticed me yet and she was heading towards the gate.
“Andrea!”I called and she stopped to stare at me
“I knew it was you! Tell me what you are doing here?”I said.
