RETURN OF Th£ DEVIL’S SON👿
Author: Jasm!ne Josef
“Is someth!ng wrong?”
Lucian forced [email protected]¢k h¡s anger and tears. h£ didn’t want to make h£r worry anym©r£.
h£ shook h¡s h£ad. “No, noth!ng is wrong. I j√$t remembered that I have to be somewh£re.”
$h£ nodded. “I understand.”
No $h£ didn’t. Even h£ couldn’t understand.
“I’ll be [email protected]¢k, wife.” h£ forced h¡mself to smile.
“I’ll be wait!ng.” $h£ smiled [email protected]¢k.
Leav!ng Hazel beh!nd Lucian took h¡s horse and rode far away. h£ didn’t know wh£re h£ was go!ng but h£ j√$t needed some air. Or maybe a lot of air. Th£ pa!n and th£ tears were chok!ng h¡m and h£ felt like s¢r**m!ng ©vt loud.
Once h£ neared a cliff h£ stopped and looked d©wΠ. Beneath th£ cliff was a river. Lucian stared at it emptly for a while wonderign what it would feel like if h£ jumped. Would th£ water wash away h¡s pa!n?
h£ climb£d d©wΠ th£ horse and sat at th£ edge of th£ cliff. h£ felt empty as h£ listened to th£ flow!ng water but soon tears began to [email protected]|| d©wΠ h¡s ch£eks. h£ couldn’t hold it !n anym©r£ so h£ let it all ©vt.
Irene stood beh!nd a tree and watch£d h£r son cry alone. Wh£n $h£ found ©vt that h£ had rega!ned h¡s memory, $h£ had followed h¡m afraid h£ would do someth!ng stupid. But h£re h£ was, alone and !n tears. $h£ could feel h¡s pa!n and wanted to take it all away. Unable to j√$t watch $h£ went to h¡m and ever so lightly $h£ put one [email protected] on h¡s shoulder.
Lucian didn’t react. h£ probably knew $h£ was th£re all th£ time and that h£ didn’t both£r to look told h£r how much pa!n h£ was !n. $h£ ¢rov¢h£d to h¡s level and wr*₱ped h£r arms @r0vnd h¡m and began to $tr*me h¡s [email protected]¢k. Oh, how long $h£ had waited to hold h¡m and now h£ was f!nally !n h£r arms. $h£ had expected h¡m to ₱v|| away but h£ didn’t. h£ j√$t kept cry!ng.
Irene wanted to tell h¡m that it wasn’t h¡s fault but $h£ knew h£ wouldn’t listen so $h£ j√$t h£ld h¡m until h£ calmed d©wΠ.
“Lucian. I can take away your pa!n if you let me.” $h£ said once h£ calmed d©wΠ.
h£ shook h¡s h£ad. “I don’t deserve it.”
$h£ grabb£d h¡s face gently !n h£r [email protected] and made h¡m look at h£r. “You do. You deserve all th£ happ!ness !n th¡s world.”
h£ j√$t looked at h£r for awhile. h¡s eyes swollen and red from th£ cry!ng.
“Why did you leave me?” h£ suddenly asked.
Irene could see th£ desperation !n h¡s eyes but $h£ could also see that h£ was los!ng hope. Th£ flames !n th£m seemed to die away s1©wly and that made h£r h£art ach£. $h£ would not let h¡m give up.
“I never did. I would never leave you. You were taken away from me.” $h£ expla!ned.
h£ looked at h£r as if try!ng to figure ©vt if $h£ was tell!ng th£ truth. $h£ wouldn’t blame h¡m if h£ didn’t believe h£r.
s1©wly h£ grabb£d h£r wrists and rem©v£d h£r [email protected] from h¡s face th£n h£ stood up. “What is your name?” h£ asked.
Irene was glad that h£ atleast asked h£r questions and didn’t ignore h£r entirely.
“My name is Nyx.” $h£ said stand!ng up.
Lucian stared at th£ woman !nfront of h¡m. h£ couldn’t ignore h¡s resemblance to h£r. $h£ was !ndeed h¡s moth£r and wh£n $h£ had hugged h¡m earlier h£ never felt anyth!ng like it before. But even if $h£ was h¡s moth£r h£ didn’t know h£r and it felt strange somehow to let h£r hug h¡m.
Confused ab©vt th£ wh0l£ situation h£ turned away from h£r and climb£d h¡s horse, th£n with©vt look!ng [email protected]¢k h£ rode away.
Nyx. h£ repeated h£r name !n h¡s m!nd. h¡s moth£rs name was Nyx. Lucian had h£ard th£ name once even though h¡s fath£r or to be m©r£ correct th£ K!ng had forbidden anyone to speak ab©vt h£r.
Rid!ng f*st through th£ woods Lucian ₱u$h£d away h¡s thoughts ab©vt h¡s moth£r to th£ [email protected]¢k of h¡s m!nd. Now h£ had m©r£ important th!ngs to focus on, like punish!ng h¡s broth£r.
Pierre will wish that h£ was dead.
Once Lucian arrived at th£ camp Julian met h¡m halfways.
“Your highness. I have been look!ng for you.”
Lucian jumped d©wΠ from th£ horse.
“What happened?” h£ asked.
“I have brought your men and…your wife has been look!ng for you.”
Lucian walked past Julian and made h¡s way to th£ guest room. As soon as h£ walked |ns!de Hazel jumped up from h£r seat with a fearful look on h£r face.
“Lucian.” $h£ ran to h¡m and envoloped h¡m !n a t!ght hug.
“What happened?” h£ aksed putt!ng h¡s arms @r0vnd h£r.
“Wh£re did you go? You made me so worried. I thought…” $h£ drew [email protected]¢k and looked at h¡m with teary eyes. “I thought you left me.”
h£ grabb£d h£r face. “Why would you th!nk so?” and th£n it hit h¡m. $h£ knew that h£ rega!ned h¡s memory.
“Why didn’t you tell me that you remembered?”
“How did you know?” h£ asked.
“You called me wife. You used to call me that all th£ time.” $h£ expla!ned as tears fell d©wΠ h£r ch£eks.
“I’ll never leave you unless you tell me.” h£ ensured h£r.
No h£ wouldn’t. Even though h£ didn’t deserve h£r h£ would stay by h£r side if that’s what $h£ wanted. h£ would do anyth!ng for h£r even if it caused h¡m pa!n.
“You know I would never tell you that. So don’t you dare leave me, even if I tell you don’t ever leave me. Promise me Lucian.”
“I promise.” h£ said wip!ng away h£r tears.
j√$t wh£n $h£ was ab©vt to say someth!ng a knock on th£ door !nterrupted th£m. Hazel wiped away h£r tears. “Your men are h£re.” $h£ !nformed.
“Come !n.” Lucian called.
Julian was th£ first to enter th£ room and h£ motioned for th£ rest to come |ns!de. Lucians men came !n one by one and Lucian took a closer look at th£m. Th£y looked much h£althier and stronger than last time.
“Your highness.” Th£y all bowed at once.
“I am glad you are safe.” Lucian began. “But we are go!ng to war soon and those of you who are still !njured or recover!ng don’t have to participate.”
“We are all participat!ng Your highness.” L!ncoln spoke.
Lucian skimmed through everyones faces to see if anyone was object!ng to what L!ncoln said.
“Alright th£n. You will be provided with weapons and we are leav!ng tonight.”
Th£y all nodded.
“Anum, I want you to make sure that no maids or servants gets hurt. L!ncoln, I want you to escort pr!ncess Elsa and Levi to somewh£re safe. Anywh£re for now, we will discuss th£ details later. Declan and Ky you can escort all th£ females ©vt of th£ castle, th£ rest can guide th£ royal army s!nce you are familiar with th£ pa$$ages |ns!de th£ castle.” Lucian expla!ned.
Hazel grabb£d h¡s arm as if want!ng to say someth!ng. “Lydia and Ylva” $h£ said concerned.
Lucian knew how much Hazel ¢ar£d for th£m. “Oliver, I want you to make sure that Hazel’s h[email protected] are safe.”
“I will.” h£ said with a nod.
“You may all leave except for Callum.”
Everyone bowed one last time and left except for Callum. Lucian turned to Hazel. “I want you to stay by h¡s side.” h£ said speak!ng of Callum.
h£ looked like th£ strongest one of th£m at th£ moment and h£ wanted Hazel to be !n good [email protected]
Hazel nodded and th£n h£ turned to Callum. “You know what you have to do.” h£ said and Callum nodded.
“Good, you maye leave now.”
Lucian couldn’t wait until h£ got h¡s [email protected] on h¡s broth£r.
Th£ rest of th£ day pa$$ed by with prepar!ng for battle. Lucian went @r0vnd and gave !nstructions togeth£r with General black. Once all th£ir plan came togeth£r th£y prepared for departure.
Lucian went to h¡s room and was sl¡pp!ng !nto h¡s armor wh£n h£ s£nsed that h£ had company.
“Your highness.” Someone spoke !n a mock!ng tone.
Lucian turned and found Roshan stand!ng only a few feet away. h£ was wear!ng a long black coat with black shirt and trousers underneath. h¡s hair was tied [email protected]¢k !n a half ponytail reveal!ng h¡s sculpted face. As usual h£ had that mishiouvious smirk on h¡s face while h¡s [email protected] rested !n h¡s pockets.
“What are you do!ng h£re?” Lucian asked while f*sten!ng h¡s belt.
“I came h£re to hunt some demons and you are a good bait.”
“Are th£y still after me?”
Roshan had told h¡m that th£ demons wanted h¡m dead.
“Not only th£m but some witch£d are after you as well. Th£y witch£s are j√$t m©r£ ¢ar£ful and th£y don’t like fights.” Roshan expla!ned.
Demons and witch£s were after h¡m. Lucian sigh£d, h£ could never get rest.
“Why are you hunt!ng demons? You are one of th£m.” Lucian asked.
“Let’s j√$t say that I am !ndepted to someone and I like to pay my debts.”
“Have my…Nyx s£nt you?” Lucian asked.
“No, your moth£r didn’t s£nd me but you fath£r did.”
“I don’t need your h£lp.” Lucian hurried to say.
“!n fact you do. You can’t fight an army of humans, demons and witch£d by yourself. Maybe !n th£ future wh£n you learn your powers.”
“And you can fight th£m all?” Lucian raised a brow.
Roshan made h¡s way to th£ [email protected] !n th£ room and sat d©wΠ. h£ swung one leg over th£ oth£r.
“I am a demon [email protected] I have been a$$a$$!nat!ng demons for centruies, I can do it !n my sleep now. Humans are like bugs to me. I don’t even need to fight th£m but th£ witch£s,” h£ shook h¡s h£ad, “those creatures are complicated. Maybe you can take ¢ar£ of th£m.”
Lucian didn’t want h¡s fath£rs h£lp. h¡s fath£r had showed h¡m clearly that h£ didn’t ¢ar£.
“Or maybe your witch friend can take ¢ar£ of th£m.” Roshan said nodd!ng toward th£ door and j√$t th£n Julian barged |ns!de.
“Your Highness…” h£ stopped halfways wh£n h¡s gaze landed on Roshan.
Roshan waved h¡s [email protected] nochalantly. “h£llo.”
“h£ is a demon.” Julian warned putt!ng h¡s [email protected] on h¡s sword.
“I know.” Lucian said calmly.
“You didn’t tell me you were on th£ demons side.” Julian said accus!ngly.
“I am not. But I am not on th£ witch£s side eith£r. I am guess!ng th£y want me dead.”
“I’ll take ¢ar£ of my people.” Julian said harshly while glar!ng at Roshan.
“Very good.” Roshan added th£n turned to Lucian. “h£ knows you are th£ devils son.” h£ said surprised.
Wh£n Lucian found ©vt that witch£s and demons didn’t mix well h£ had told Julian that h£ was !ndeed th£ devil’s son j√$t like th£ rumors. Julian hadn’t been very surprised and wanted to still h£lp h¡m get th£ throne.
“How do you know h£ won’t try to kille you?” Roshan asked.
“How do I know you won’t try to kill h¡m?” Julian replied !nstead of Lucian.
“Because…” Roshan paused as if h£sitat!ng. “h¡s fath£r, th£ devil and my uncle would kill me.”
Wait! Now it was Lucians time to pause whatever h£ was do!ng.
Th¡s man was h¡s cous!n? But th£y looked noth!ng like each oth£r.
“And you excpect me to believe you?” Julian asked.
Roshan stood up from h¡s seat. “I expect noth!ng. But you can expect to die by my [email protected] if you try anyth!ng stupid.” h£ warned f|¡¢kign a dagger b£tweeΠ h¡s f!ng£rs. “I’ll see you.” h£ th£n told Lucian before dissapear!ng.
Julian turned to Lucian. “That man is dangerous. h£ is a very high rank demon.”
“Don’t worry. h£ is not h£re to hurt me.” Lucian a$$ured still dazed. “Is everyth!ng ready?”
“Good.” Now it was time to give Pierre what h£ deserved.
