💊 Jasmine’s POV 💊

“Stop!!” I yelled as Emma and I ran to separate doc Alex from Ryan

“Let me go Jasmine, this asshole killed the baby, he caused the fire!!” Doctor Alex yelled as Emma and I struggled to hold him

“Did he really cause the fire?” I asked

“What? Are you going to beat me up too?” Ryan said laughing while I looked at him in anger

He’s bleeding so badly on the floor yet he won’t keep his mouth shut

“Am going to kill you asshole!!” Alex yelled trying to break free

“Control yourself Alex!” Emma yelled “Unless you want to attract unnecessary attention here”

Alex calmed down and we were about leaving

“There’s a lot of cameras here you know” he said as he staggered to stand up “Everything you just did was caught on camera and if I want, I could file an assault case to the police and get you arrested right now”

“Shut your trap you jerk!!” I yelled

“Oh my, am so scared” Ryan said pretending to be scared and then laughed “You are such a vicious pretty lady Jasmine but not to worry, I came on this trip to have fun and mess with you guys so reporting to the police will spoil my fun, I guess I’ll just have to get the video and keep it for future use”

“Let’s just go” Emma said and we all started walking away

“Am looking forward to having fun with you guys on this trip” Ryan yelled from behind

What a jerk!
I wonder how Megan managed to cope with him as her boss

“This is your suite” Emma said as she opened the door to the living room “There’s a sitting and two bedrooms, you can use the telephone here to order for food when you are hungry, more Neurosurgeons are still arriving so you guys have the rest of the day to yourselves. There’ll be a meeting tomorrow morning, the venue will be texted to you Doctor Alex and in the evening tomorrow, we’ll be hosting a welcoming party for you all, meanwhile make yourselves comfortable”

“Thanks” I muttered

“I’ll see you guys later then” Emma said and left

Alex sat on the couch and I sat beside him

“Are you okay?” I asked

“How can I be okay with everything that just happened with that asshole!”

“How are you sure that he’s the one responsible for the fire?” I asked

“He told me himself, that miscreant whispered it in my ear” Doc Alex said

“We should report to the police then, he can’t be allowed to go scott free”

“We aren’t in our country Jasmine and even if we are, we don’t have any evidence against him”

“He totally played us” I said and Ryan cut in

“No, he played me, he knows that even after admitting it to me we won’t be able to get him arrested since we lack evidence, he deliberately got me angry and made me beat him up, now he has a video clip he can use against me anytime he wants, Ryan is more devious than I thought, who knows he might even be responsible for what happened during the Prime Minister’s daughter surgery, he’s really dangerous Jasmine, you must stay away from him” he said looking at me with concern

“I’ll be careful of him, now stopped worked up” I said and then I noticed his hands were shaking again

“Do your hands always shake when you are stressed or nervous?” I asked and he quickly hid his hand I his pocket

“Am fine” he said

Why does his hands always shakes so much whenever he’s tensed up?

“Let’s go shopping, it reliefs stress” I said and he looked at me surprised

“What? You don’t have enough money to take your assistant shopping?” I asked

“Am just surprised, why do you suddenly want to go shopping?” He asked

“We are in one of the most fashionable country in the world and you’re asking a lady why she wants to go shopping? Perhaps, we have a party tomorrow night so you can buy me my party dress” I said and he smiled

“Sure, let’s go” he said

I looked at his hands, they were not shaking anymore

“Give me some minutes, lemme go freshen up”

I took my luggage and walked to one of the rooms

The room is not bad, infact it’s amazing

I dropped my luggage in the wardrobe and went to the bathroom to have a shower

As I showered, my mind darted to Doctor Alex

What’s the relationship between him and Ryan, why do they hate each other so much?

I finished bathing and I came out of the shower

I dressed up and went to the sitting room

I guess he’s also freshening up in his room

I sat down on the couch and waited for doctor Alex

Minutes later, he came out of the room in a simple top and trouser and yet he looked dashing, I have such a handsome boss

“Let’s go” he said and I stood up and we went out of the room

“You guys going somewhere?” Emma asked as she walked up to us

“Shopping” I answered

“That’s great, you guys should totally try the Shopping Mall Village, it’s one of the best here and it’s just straight down the street” Emma said

“Thanks Emma, why don’t you join us?” Alex said

“Would’ve loved to but as you can see, am really busy, more guests are still coming in from all over the world but since I won’t be coming, you guys should just use my car, it’s in the Parking lot” she said as she gave us her car key “And be careful, this is not an English speaking country so not everyone you’ll meet can speak English”

“We’ll be careful thanks” Alex said

We went to the Parking lot, Alex pressed Emma’s car remote and her car beeped

We got in and drove out of the hotel to the Mall

We walked into the Mall and one of the workers walked up to us

“Bem-vindo à vila do shopping” the man said

“Umm, sorry do you speak English?” Doc Alex asked

“Of course, Welcome to the Shopping Mall Village, here” he said as he gave us a pamphlet “This contains all you need to know about the Mall and all the places here”

“Thanks” I said and the worker left

“Female clothings are on the next floor so let’s just take the escalator” I said as I studied the pamphlet

“I can’t believe you are really making me do this” doc Alex said

“Why? You don’t like the idea of taking me shopping?”

“I’ve never taken any lady shopping” he replied

“Wow, I’ll consider myself lucky then but honestly I didn’t come with you to Brazil just to attend some boring Seminars, I want to have fun too so let’s go” I said as I grabbed his hand and dragged him to the escalator

💊 Alex’s POV 💊

We stood on the escalator as it moved up and then we walked to the section of women’s clothing

An attendant walked up to us

“Bem-vindo à seção feminina da vila do shopping” the lady said

“English please” Jasmine said

“Oh sorry” the lady apologised “Welcome to the female section of the Shopping Mall Village, I’ll show you around”

“Sure” Jasmine said and she quickly followed the attendant while I followed from behind

Do girls like shopping that much?
She seems so happy and excited, it’s the first time am seeing this side of her

“Doctor Alex, I want this one!” Jasmine yelled again from across the store holding a green dress this time and all the other customers turned to look and I quickly moved closer to her

“Will you lower your voice, you are making yourself the center of attention here” I said

“Am sorry Doctor Alex, am just excited” she said

“And for God sake stop calling me doctor Alex, just call me by name, Thanks to you am sure everyone in this store knows that am a doctor now”

“But you are my boss, am supposed to call you doctor”

“In the hospital, yes but we aren’t in the hospital now so just call me Alex” I said

“So does that mean if we aren’t in the hospital, you aren’t my boss?” She asked

“Something like that”

“If you aren’t my boss outside the hospital then what’s our relationship?” She asked and I paused a bit

“Friends” I answered and she smiled

“Nice being your friend Alex” she said and laughed

“Since we just made our friendship official, why don’t you buy me this dress too?” She asked as she took a yellow dress from the stand

“Seriously?! How many dresses have you already taken?”

“Just…. Eight”

“Eight?! Just drop this yellow dress, perhaps I think it’s too small for you” I said as I tried to collect the dress from her but she took it back

“I’ll try on all the dresses in the changing room and if there’s any that isn’t my size, I’ll change it” she said and I sighed

“Remind me never to take you shopping again” I said

“Oh why? Am so enjoying this shopping, aren’t you enjoying it too?”

“Not in the slightest” I said and she laughed

She called the attendant that was standing some meters away

“Where’s the changing room?” Jasmine asked

“Follow me” the attendant said

Jasmine picked a few more dress and then followed the attendant

I sat on the couch while Jasmine went inside the changing room

“How many dresses are there in total?” I asked the attendant standing beside me

“11 dresses” the lady said

Wow! This girl is definitely gonna suck me dry of money today

Jasmine came out of the changing room and she was wearing a long, fitted, orange coloured and sleeveless gown

“How do I look? Should I wear this to tommorow’s party” she asked as she turned around for me to see

Gosh! This girl could totally be a model and make it big
Even without makeup she looks amazing

“Alex?” Jasmine called again and I realized that I’ve not said anything, I’ve only been staring at her

“I said how do I look? Or is it that bad? Do I look awful” she asked

“Definitely, it’s awful, change it” I said quickly

“You could have still complemented me and not just condemn my look making me feel bad” she said as she rolled her eyes and went back in to the changing room with another dress

I heard the attendant laugh behind me and I turned to look at her

“Am sorry, it’s just that you and your girlfriend are so cute” she said and I looked at her wide-eyed

“Oh, she’s not my girlfriend”

“Really?” She asked

“Yeah, she’s my…… She’s my friend” I replied

“Is it a one-sided love then?” She asked

“One-sided what?!”

“The way you looked at her when she came out before, you love her right?”

“What!!” I exclaimed

“Don’t worry, everyone we love can not love us back the same way too but I think you shouldn’t give up easily, tell her about your feelings, I have a good feeling she might reciprocate your love” the lady said and I scoffed

“You misunderstood everything ma’am, she’s just a friend, there’s no love attached” I explained

“Really? Okay then, am sorry for misunderstanding” she apologized

“Thanks” I said and I sighed

I scoffed again

“Impossible” I muttered

The door to the changing room opened and Jasmine came out again

This time dressed in short yellow dress with flower patterns

“How do I look?” She asked and I almost couldn’t stop myself from staring at her

“Just get all the dress and let’s go, we’ve already wasted much time here” I said and walked away

Why the hell am I suddenly getting attracted to Jasmine

“Wait for me!” I heard Jasmine yelled from behind

“At least wait lemme change back to the cloth I wore before” she said as she went back into the changing room and I waited

Minutes later, she was done and I payed for the clothes she bought

“Let’s go to the men’s clothing section, you should get some clothes too” she said and I stopped to look at her

“And who will be paying?” I asked

“You of course, the clothes will be for you after all” she said

“Are you kidding me?! I just spent a fortune in purchasing those clothes for you and you are still talking about buying something else?!”

“Come on, you are one of the top ranking surgeon in the world, just a surgery that you perform is worth a fortune so stop complaining, perhaps am not buying anything else, I just want you to get some clothes too” she said and I sighed

“Let’s go, the pamphlet says it’s in the next floor, I’ll pick some clothes for you” she said as she grabbed my hand and dragged me to the elevator

“This will look great on you” Jasmine said again as she took the 14th or was it 15th cloth, I’ve lost count

“These clothes are too much Jasmine” I said

“They look great, it will be such a pity if you don’t buy them” she said she kept on selecting more clothes

“I don’t wear these kinds of fashionable clothes Jasmine, the main cloth I wear is suits so there’s no need for all these”

“I guess you’ll just have to change your theme of dressing”

“So you want me to start dressing on weird looking tops and ripped pants to work and be looking like gangsters?” I asked

“Well, it’s not against the hospital ethics” she replied

“Unbelievable” I muttered

“Since you are so caught up with suits, let’s get that” she said pointing at a red suit “You can wear it for tomorrow’s party and I’ll wear my red dress”

“Why should wear the same color of clothes?” I asked

“Come on, it’s gonna look good” she said as she took the suite

“Look at that Alex, it’s a matching tops for couple” she said as she quickly went to the stand where the tops are and I followed from behind

“Let’s get one please” she said

“Why should we? We aren’t couples”

“But it’s beautiful” she said

“Forget it, we aren’t buying it” I said and I turned to leave but she held my hand

“Come on Alex, don’t be grumpy and let’s buy it, please please” she pleaded trying to make a cute face and I almost laughed

“Fine” I said

“Yes! Thanks Alex” she said as she quickly got the couples t-shirt

“But this is the last thing we are buying here, so let’s go” I said and she nodded

“Sure, but let’s change to the couple tshirts in the changing room” she said

“Why should we?”

“Because it’s fun” she said as she grabbed my hand and pushed me into the changing rooms with one of the couples t-shirt

We both changed to the couple tshirts and walked out of the section after paying for the clothes

“The total money I’ve been spending for the past months doesn’t even add up to half of the money you made me spend today” I said

“That means you’ve been living a poor life when you are actually very rich”

“It’s not a poor life, my cost of living is just on the normal range” I replied

“Well that’s because you aren’t married yet, by the time you are, your cost of living will be skyhigh”

“And who said am ever going to get married” I said and she stopped to look at me

“So you’re gonna remain single for the rest of your life?” She asked

“If possible yes”

“It’s not possible” she said

“And what makes you so sure?” I asked

“Because the human heart always fall in love, no matter how hard your heart it, someone will definitely emerge to soften it up one day and when that happens to you, am gonna remind you that I told you so”

“Trust me, it won’t happen to me, I’ve spent my years ignoring girls and focusing on my ambition and it will continue that way” I said

“Let’s make a bet then, if you ever fall in love with a girl, you owe me a trip any country of my choice”

“And if I don’t?” I asked

“I’ll take you shopping?”

“No you’ll also sponsor my trip to any country of my choice” I said

“Deal” she said

“You should start saving up money to take me on a trip” I said and she scoffed

“Let’s wait till then but now, am really hungry and according to this pamphlet, there’s a restaurant in the fifth floor, let’s go” she said

“Are you kidding? We can just go back to the hotel and eat there than pay a fortune just for some delicacies here” I said

“Come on Alex, you have money, spend it” she said as she grabbed my hand again and we went to the elevator
