💊 Jasmine’s POV 💊
We finished eating and left the restaurant while Alex continued to throw tantrums about how I made him spend a lot of money and I couldn’t help but laugh
“Wait a minute, if you don’t like spending too much money then what do you do with all the money you’ve gained all this while?” I asked
“Just this and that” he said and stopped to look at him
“This and that?” I asked raising my brows he needed
“I actually pity the unlucky guy that will end up being your boyfriend” he said
“What! Unlucky guy?!” I exclaimed
“Yeah, he better start saving up his money cause you are gonna suck him dry”
“When the time comes and I finally get a boyfriend, he’s gonna be the luckiest man in the world for having me” I said and he scoffed
“Yeah yeah, maybe”
“Wait, how do you I don’t have a boyfriend in the first place?” I asked as we entered the car
“If you had a boyfriend you would’ve called him immediately you arrived here, but I’ve not seen you on the phone yet” he said and I quickly remembered
“Oh my God, I haven’t call Megan yet, I can’t believe I actually forgot”
“Who’s Megan?” Alex asked
“My cousin” I said as I quickly took my phone and dialled her number while Alex continued driving to the hotel

We got to the hotel and Alex parked the car while I struggled with the bags of everything we bought
“Aren’t you gonna help?” I asked Alex
“Why should I? I paid for everything must I help you take them to the room too?” He said and I just gave him a deadly stare
“Fine, I’ll help” he said as he collected some of the bags from me and we entered into the hotel
“Doctor Alexander Sanchez?” Someone called from behind and we turned to see a young man wearing glasses
“It is you” the man said excited “Am so honored to have finally meet you” he said as he shook Alex’s hand
“Yeah, ummm…… I still don’t know you” Alex said
“Oh right, my name is Oliver Gonzalez, a Neurosurgeon from the Philippines, I’ve always wanted to meet the you Doctor Alex, you are my role model” the man said
“Nice to meet you Doctor Gonzalez” Alex said
“The pleasure is all mine, I hope we’ll get to know each other and become close friends from this trip” he said and Alex nodded
“Sure” Alex said
“Is this your wife?” He asked pointing at him and I looked at him wide-eyed
“Wife?!!” Alex and I said
“Well, you guys are wearing a couple t-shirt” he said
“Oh no, we are just wearing it for fun” I said
“Yeah, she isn’t my wife, she’s my assistant surgeon, Jasmine” Alex said
“Ohh am sorry for misunderstanding then, should I help you with the bags?” He asked
“No, thank you, we’ll take our leave now, see you later” Alex said and we started walking away
“Seems like someone’s becoming a celebrity” I said
“You are just noticing?” He asked and I laughed
We got to our suite and I went to my room with my clothes
I arranged everything and slumped on the bed
Am so tired and it’s already getting dark
I should change and get some sleep

We ordered breakfast and ate in the sitting room
“We’ll be having a meeting today at The HSBC hall” Alex said
“The HSBC hall?” I asked
“Yeah, there’ll be a car to take us there, the meeting is by 10 so you should probably start getting ready now” he said and I nodded
We finished breakfast and I went to my room to get dressed

We get to the venue some minute before the appointed time
Alex was busy talking with other surgeons while I went inside the hall to have a seat
“It’s the vicious and bold pretty lady, Jasmine right?” Ryan said as he sat beside me
“What are you doing here?” I asked curtly
“What else, am here to attend the meeting, am a Neurosurgeon after all” he said
“Obviously but I meant, what are you doing seating beside me?”
“Why? You aren’t comfortable?” He asked
“How can I be comfortable when an asshole like you is sitting beside me”
“Oh my, you just broke my heart” he said as he gripped his chest and I scoffed
“How can you live with yourself when you know that a 6 month old baby lost his life because of you, you totally ruined a family and you don’t care” I said
“Well, everyone is meant to die one day so what’s the big deal if the baby died a little early” he said and I shook my head
“I wonder how you ever became a doctor”
“I might be a little mischievous but I am skilled sweetheart, so why don’t you consider changing side, come work for me” he said and I laughed
“The guts you have Ryan, asking me to work for you” I said
“Well am just trying my luck” he said with a shrug
“Well, sorry to disappoint you but that’s never gonna happen, even in your dreams” I said but he didn’t say anything, he just stared at me
“If you are done with what you have to say, it’s better you stand up and stay the hell away from me than staring at me with those creepy eyes” I said
“You know what, I find you interesting Jasmine, very interesting” he said as he slowly stood up and left
“What a jerk”
Alex came in some minutes later and sat beside me
Then the President of the Organization came in along with Emma and the meeting started
“Welcome to 57th Gathering of the World Federation of Neurological Societies” the President said

The meeting was done and they announced that there’ll be a welcome party that will be organized at each hotel tonight
A driver drove us back to the hotel and we went to our suite
I sat on the couch while Alex went to his room
Minutes later, Alex dressed in a casual wear and came out of the room
“Are you going somewhere?” I asked
“Just going down for a bit to talk with the other surgeons, wanna come?”
“Nope, I’ve heard enough boring talks for today” I said
“Boring talks? Was the meeting boring for you?”
“Don’t get me wrong but honestly, it was a bit boring, most of what they talked about was how the organization was built” I asked and Alex shook his head
“You find educative talks boring, I wonder how you managed to be the best student in your medical school” he said
“I just have a pretty high IQ” I said with a smile and he scoffed
“Happy resting then” he said and left
💊 Alex’s POV 💊
I went downstairs to the hotel lounge and met some of the surgeons there
Doctor Oliver Gonzalez, the surgeon Jasmine and I met yesterday was there too
“Doctor Alex” Oliver called immediately I entered the lounge
“We were just talking about you, tell us how you managed to successfully perform the brain tumor surgery on a sickle cell anemia patient” he said

I spent some time with the surgeons in the lounge discussing about our medical experiences
I got tired and I excused myself to go to my room since we’ll be a having a party soon
I was going to my room when Emma walked up to me
“You seem to be getting along with the other surgeons quite well” she said
“Well, this isn’t my first time attending this gathering so am familiar with some of them” I said
“Still, you shouldn’t get carried away by mingling around with them, you have an ambition, a target and until you achieve that, you can’t afford to have fun around” she said and walked away and I just couldn’t stop staring at her

💊 Jasmine’s POV 💊
I sat I front of the mirror in my room after wearing my long red dress
It’s already time for the party and I just want to apply a little make-up
I powdered my face lightly and applied a pink lipstick
The gown has a slit up to the knee so heels will be perfect for it so I wore my black heels
“If you don’t come out in the next minute I’ll leave for the party without you” Alex yelled from the sitting room
“Do not leave without me, I’ll be there in a minute” I replied
I took my phone and purse and quickly walked out of the room
Alex was sitting in the couch and he was already dressed up
Gosh, how could a guy be so handsome
The red suit suites him perfectly
And with the way he styled his hair backwards, wow, he looks so breathtaking
“How do I look?” I asked as I finally managed to stop the awkward thoughts I was having
Alex didn’t answer me, he just kept staring at me
“Is there something on my face?” I asked
“What? No no, I just….. Let’s go” he said as he quickly walked out and I followed him
“Wait for me, I can’t run in this heels” I said from behind and he slowed down
We climbed down the stairs and went to the hotel hall where the party was holding
“You too totally look like a couple” Doctor Oliver said as we entered the hall

Okay, when they said party, I was so excited that I was gonna have some fun dance like crazy but this is so not what I expected
No one is even dancing, everyone is just standing around with a cup of drink and talking and there’s a long slow moody music that was being played
I guess what all Neurosurgeons know is how to operate and talk about surgeries, they have no idea on how to organize a booming party
I was starting to get very bored so I left Alex and went outside the hotel to get some fresh air
“I almost died of boredom there, ahhh this feels so good” I said as the breeze blew across my face
“What’s such a pretty lady doing outside alone when a party is going on inside” someone said and I turned to see Ryan
“Thought I told you to stay away from me” I said
“Well I couldn’t just ignore such a pretty lady” he said and I scoffed
“I’d like it if you ignore me cause am so not comfortable with your presence Mr Ryan”
“I can’t ignore you” he said
“Why?”
“I told you before, I can’t ignore such a pretty lady” he said and I laughed
“Why don’t we go have some fun” he said
“What? Why will I have some fun with you?”
“I never said you had a choice” he said as he quickly plunge an injection on me and I slowly loosed consciousness

I slowly opened my eyes and I felt nauseous
What happened?
My neck feels so sore
Am in a car and someone’s driving
“Are you finally awake?” Someone asked beside me
“Ryan! What did you do to me, I feel so dizzy”
“Just a shot of flunitrazepan and it knocked you out, you are going to continue feeling dizzy and weak till the drug wears off from your system” he said
“What’s the meaning of this” I tried to yell but my voice only came out weakly
I have no strength at all
“I just want to have fun” he said
“Then get someone else to have fun with” I tried to say in loud voice again but I couldn’t
“Stop trying to shout, the harder you try, the weaker you get”
“What the hell do you want from me?” I asked
“I told you this morning, leave Alex and come to me, be my assistant” he said and I scoffed
“Impossible, I rather die than work for an asshole like you” I said
“Do you know the Pedra da Gavea?” He asked and I kept quiet
“It’s a cliff, a very high cliff here in Rio, it’s more than 2500ft high such that if anyone falls down from it, there’s no chance of surviving”
“Why are you telling me this?” I asked
“Am just granting your wish, you said you’ll rather die than work for me so am taking you to your death, we’ll be at the cliff in a minute tops” he said as he drove faster
“Let me down Ryan, am going to file a case against you to the police”
“You can’t file a case if you are dead, can you?” He said and then laughed
“You are a disgrace to all doctors”
I tried to open the door and it was locked
“Let me down Ryan, please” I begged but he didn’t answer me
We got to the cliff and Ryan stopped the car
He got out of the car and I quickly opened the door too and tried to run but I was too weak, I had no strength at all and I only ended up falling down
“I told you to stop struggling, it will only get you weaker” he said as he caught me by the arm and dragged me to the edge of the cliff
“You can’t do this Ryan, you don’t want to become a murderer” I said
“Am only a murderer if am caught, I can easily cover all this up” he said
“Please Ryan please, don’t do this please” I begged as tears rolled down my eyes
I thought I was strong but am so scared right now, I don’t want to die
💊 Ryan’s POV 💊
I took my phone from my pocket while still holding Jasmine’s arm with my other hand
I dialled Alex’s number and he picked it up
🗨️ Hello
“You sound so cool and relaxed for someone that’s about to get tensed up” I said
🗨️ “Ryan! Why the hell are you calling me”
“Thought you might want to speak with someone here” I said as I took the phone closer to Jasmine
“Please save me Alex, this psycho wants to kill me, he’s gonna push me off the cliff, please save me am so scared” Jasmine cried and I shook my head
“This is so touching”
🗨️ “What the hell are you trying to do?” Alex yelled
“Calm down Alex, or I might just loose my temper and push her off the cliff”
🗨️ “Why are you doing this? Am your enemy not Jasmine, why are you involving her in all this?”
“Cause it’s fun, and I told you I came here to have fun, come find us in the next ten minutes, or may just push Jasmine off the cliff of you keep me waiting for too long”
🗨️ “Where are you guys?” He asked and Jasmine wanted to tell him
“Say a word and I’ll push you of this cliff right now”
🗨️ “Hello, where the hell are you guys!!” Alex yelled
“It’s no fun if I just tell you, find us yourself” I said and ended the call
Am so enjoying this
