💊 Alex’s POV 💊
I drove straight to the hospital but the Prime Minister has already left for home so I drove to his residence
The security didn’t let me in and insisted I come back tomorrow morning since it’s already dark
But I can’t just leave, I need an explanation and I must get it today
I insisted on going in and one of the securities decided to go alert the Prime Minister
Minutes later, he came back and let me in
I walked into the house to the sitting room where the Prime Minister was seated
“What brings you here by this time of the night Alex?” He asked
“William Sanders” I said and he looked at me confused
“What’s up with you? Why are you suddenly calling my name?” He asked and I sighed
“Unbelievable”
“Is there something wrong Alex?”
“Did you know my parents?” I asked
“I already told you before, I do but we weren’t close, I was only able to meet them while they were working at the hospital” he replied
“Do you know anything about their disapearance?” I asked
“No, I only knew of their disapearance when I saw it on the newspaper”
“You lie!!” I yelled
“What the hell is wrong with you Alex?”
“What’s is wrong with me? Well I just found out that the man I trusted and considered to be good was parents when my parents was killed, yeah they didn’t just disapear, they were killed that night and you were there, you knew about it!!” I yelled
“What the hell are you talking about Alex?” He asked
“You know damn well what am talking about, you know exactly what am talking about now tell me, who the hell killed my parents, who ordered their execution and why? Why were you there? What happened that night?”
“I don’t what you’re talking about Alex, maybe if you’ll just calm down a bit, you’ll be able to explain what you mean by all this you’re saying” the Prime Minister said
“I heard your name, I tried to remember what happened that night but it was your name that occurred to me which means you were somehow involved in what happened to my parents”
“You think I might have something to do with their disapearance or death?” He asked “I can’t believe you think of me as such a cruel person, now I don’t know why my name occurred to you, maybe one of them just mentioned it in their discussion cause even though I was not yet the Prime Minister, I was still quite popular back then, I think of you like a son Alex, don’t spoil our relationship by doubting me” he said
“But…..”
“I liked your parents Alex, I told you before, they were both smart and they were one of our country’s finest, now am not sure why my name occurred to you but I’ll never do anything to hurt them Alex, never”
“I know but this is the first time in 17 years that I finally got a lead, the first time I finally remember something from that night” I said
“Don’t worry Alex” he said as he moved closer to me and held my shoulder “we’ll figure this out together, I’ll help you find out what happened to your parents”
“Thanks Prime Minister” I said
“I’ll try to get all the information I can but for now, it’s already dark and we both need to get some sleep, I’ll see you tomorrow when I come to the hospital to get my daughter discharged” he said and I nodded
“See you tomorrow” I said as I turned to leave
“Alex” he called and I looked back “Be careful and make sure to get some sleep”
I left the Prime Minister’s residence and drove straight home
I showered and changed into a casual wear
Then I laid on the bed but I couldn’t get any sleep
“Mom, Dad” I called aloud “Are you both really dead? But why? Why did they want to kill you? Who wanted to kill you? I’ll find out Mom, I’ll find who tried to kill you Dad and I’ll get revenge for both of you”….
💊 Prime Minister’s POV 💊
Immediately I was sure Alex was gone, I took my phone and called James Wilson
🗨️ “Prime Minister? Why are you calling me by this time of the night?”
“What the hell did you tell Alex?!”
🗨️ “Who’s Alex?” James asked
“I mean Alexander Sanchez you fool, what the hell did you tell him that makes him to suspect me now?”

🗨️ “I never told him anything, I didn’t even meet with him”
“Then how? How did he know about my involvement?” I asked
🗨️ “Maybe he’s starting to remember”
“You assured me he’ll never remember!!” I yelled “That boy must never know about my involvement in his parents death” I said and James laughed
🗨️ “You say it like you only took part in it where as you were the architect of it all”
“I only did what was necessary James, I did what I had to do and you talk like you are innocent in this but you aren’t, I might have ordered the whole thing but I didn’t pull the trigger, did I?” I asked and I heard him sigh
🗨️ “Just kill him, he should have died 17 years ago after all” James said
“Alex grew to be a great man, it will be a waste to just kill him, I’ll figure out a way to send him away for the main time, till I am able to answer all his questions” I said and then ended the call
💊 Megan’s POV 💊
“Am about leaving Jas, wish me luck on my secret undercover mission” I said as I picked up my hand bag
“Com’n Meg” Jasmine said as she walked out of the room all dressed for work too
“It’s not like you are going to be holding guns and driving armoured tanks, you just have to do what you’ve normally being doing, be the best anaesthesiologist you can be and help Ryan with his surgeries but if you happen to hear anything that could be useful to us, then you tell us” Jasmine said
“I just hope it’s going to be as easy as you’re saying” I said and she hugged me
“You are going to be just fine Meg” she assured
I left the house and drove the the hospital
“Good morning Megan” the nurses greeted as I walked by
“Good morning Ivey” I responded
I got to Ryan’s office and I took a breath, then I knocked
“Come in” he said and I went
“Hey Megan” he said and he stood up and came to hug me
Okay, this is weird
“Am so happy you agreed to come back and am sorry that jerk hurt you, I’ll definitely help you get revenge on him” Ryan said
“Umm…… thanks” I replied
“So you ready for today’s work?” He asked and I nodded
“Definitely doctor”
💊 Jasmine’s POV 💊
I got to the hospital and greeted the receptionist then Emma walked up to me
“Good morning deputy director” I greeted
“Morning Jasmine, I never got a chance to thank you yesterday, without you, we wouldn’t have easily got that recorder” Emma said and I was bit surprised
“There’s no need to thank me, you made me understood really well that everything was my fault so I had to come up with a solution” I said
“Anyway, thanks” she said with a smile
“Why are you suddenly acting all nice to me? Last time you spoke to me privately, I was pretty sure you hate me”
“I don’t hate you Jasmine, I have no problem with you honestly, as long as you don’t prove to be an object of distraction for Alex, then we are good” she said
“Do you love Alex?” I asked and she laughed

“Come on now Jasmine, that’s absurd, I don’t love Alex, he and I just happens to have a lot in common and he’s also very important, more important than you think, that’s why I need him to remain focused or all my years of hard work will be in vain” she said and I looked at her confused
“There’s something about you Emma, something I don’t know yet but trust me, I’ll definitely figure it out” I said and then Alex walked into the hospital
His eyes looked so puffy, like he didn’t sleep at all last night
“Are you okay?” I asked Alex
“Yeah, you look like one of those zombies in movies” Emma said
“Am fine” Alex said and was about leaving when the Prime Minister walked in and we all bowed to greet him
“Are you okay doctor?” The Prime Minister asked Alex
“Am fine Sir” he replied “But what about what we talked about yesterday, were you able to find out anything?”
What did they talked about?
“Nothing yet Alex, it’s gonna take time” he said and then looked at Emma “The deputy director right?” He asked and Emma nodded
“It’s almost impossible to forget a beauty like yours, maybe we should hang out sometime” the Prime Minister said
“That would’ve been great Sir but I don’t hang out with murderers” Emma said and I looked at her surprised
“What?” The Prime Minister said and she laughed
“Forgive me Prime Minister, it was just a joke, was it too rash?” She asked with a smile
What is wrong with this girl?
She literally called the Prime Minister a murderer and now she says it’s a joke?
“I must admit, you aren’t good at making jokes” the Prime Minister said
“Who knows? Maybe it wasn’t a joke, maybe you really are a murderer” she said and we all looked at her both surprised and confused
Then she laughed
“Gotcha, it was just a joke again but it seems you guys all thought I was serious” she said amidst laughter
“You are a unique lady Emma” the Prime Minister said “I would’ve loved to stay here and chat more with you but I’ve got to see the director before I get my child discharged so I gotta go”
The Prime Minister left and so did Alex and Emma
I met with some patients with minor sickness, administered some drugs or injections and Susan and I also checked on our surgery patients
💊 Alex’s POV 💊
I sat alone in my office after narrating all that transpired between me and the Prime Minister to Tony
He thinks I was stupid for trusting the Prime Minister, according to him, politicians can never be trusted
Honestly, am starting to have my doubts about the Prime Minister but I don’t think he’s that cruel to kill my parents
The office phone on my desk ranged and I picked it up
🗨️ “The director wants to see you immediately doctor”
“I’ll be there in a minute” I replied
I dropped the phone and walked out of my office
I went into the elevator where I met Emma
“You going to fifth floor?” She asked since I didn’t press any button
“Yeah, the director called for me” I answered
“He called for me too” she said and I looked at her
“Why?”
“Let’s find out shall we?” She said as the elevator dinged and the door opened to the fifth floor
We got to the Director’s office, knocked and went in
“It’s good that you guys came together, the message is actually for both of you” the director said
“What message?” I asked
“Afghanistan is one of the poorest countries in the whole world, as much as it’s poor, it’s also filled with plagues and war”
“Did you call us for a history lesson?” Emma asked
“Patience Emma” the director said “Now even though Afghanistan is such a messed up country, it has abundant arms and ammunitions and they’ve agreed to supply our country with arms too but on one condition”
“What condition?” I asked
“They are short of doctors, they want us to send our best surgery team to Kabul, their capital city to help with the treatment of their sick and injured one’s for a month so I decided to send you Alex”
“What?!!” Emma and I exclaimed
“Afghanistan is a war zone Sir, you are literally send him to his death!” Emma said
“Well you’ll be going with him to make sure him and his surgery team are safe and alright” the director said
“This is absurd Sir” I said “I mean, Afghanistan is a country people avoid, that place is a slaughter zone, if we go there, chances are we’ll not make it out alive”
“You are going there to treat the injured it’s not like am telling you to go fight” he said
“But director…..” Emma was saying but the director cut in
“You have no say in this, it’s an order!!” He yelled “Now tell your surgery team, go home and prepare to leave tomorrow”
“What?!” Emma exclaimed
“Tomorrow?!” I asked surprised
“You heard me right now leave” the director said and Emma and I slowly left his office
💊 Director’s POV 💊
Am so sorry Alex, am also sorry Emma, I don’t want to send you guys to that war zone but I have no choice
********FLASHBACK********
I was in my office this morning and the door suddenly opened
“Prime Minister” I called as I quickly stood up to meet him
He walked closer and sat in front of me
“I need your help director” he said
“Just ask anything Sir”
“I need you to send Alex and his surgery team to Afghanistan” he said and I looked at him surprised
“What?! Afghanistan?!”
“I had a meeting with the Afghanistan president some days ago cause I wanted him to supply us with arms and ammunitions but he requested for a surgery team that will work for them for one month in exchange, I wasn’t gonna agree to his terms but I think I might just benefit from this as well, this will help me get rid of some people, it’s like killing two birds with one stone”
“I don’t understand what you’re saying sir but am not sending my finest surgery team into an execution zone” I replied
“You have no choice here director, you’ll do as I say if you want to keep your job. Make them leave for Afghanistan tomorrow and I’ll inform the president of their arrival” he said as he stood up “and yes, send that lady with them, the new deputy director, Emma, she seems to know something about me and I don’t like that” he said and then walked out

I think the lesson here today is people might not be what they seem to be
Someone might just seem so soft and kind on the outside but thats all a camouflage and you don’t really know what’s going on the inside, just like the Prime Minister
So know a person well before you trust them, or you might just end up getting hurt
