💊 Alex’s POV 💊

Andrew went out with some of the soldiers and I clenched my hand into a fist
They are shaking again

Everything is just so messed up

Jasmine moved closer to me and held my hand

“Everything will be fine, don’t get worked up sweetheart” she said and I chuckled

“Sweetheart?” I asked raising my brows

“What?” She asked with a shrug and Andrew and Megan suddenly came in

“We’ll address that later” I whispered and she smiled

“Heard you need my help” Megan said

“Yeah, his blood pressure is dropping though we managed to stabilize it with adrenaline but I don’t think that’s gonna last” I explained

“Do you have Ephedrine injection?” She asked

“Here” Andrew said as she gave it to her and she quickly administered it

“You can continue the surgery and I’ll just continue monitoring the vitals and administering any necessary injections” she said and I nodded

We continued the surgery and we were able to removed the rest of the bullets

We stiched and closed up the necessary parts and the surgery was done

“Megan please will you do the favour of checking on him from frequently?” I asked

“Sure” she replied and I muttered a thanks

“You are very lucky that our leader survived the surgery” the man who seemed to be second in command of the Taliban forces said

“You are welcome” I said and he scoffed

“How long before he wakes up?” He asked

“He should be awake in within the next 24 hours” I replied

💊 Ryan’s POV 💊

I finally managed to move to where Susan knelt on the ground

“What’s going on? Why were you brought back here? Did you succeed in killing the Taliban leader?” I asked all at once

“No, I didn’t succeed, am sure the sugery will be successful” she replied

“What! How are you so useless that you can never successfully perform any task I give you!” I said angrily and she looked at me surprised

“Are you talking to me like that? Are you calling me useless?” She asked

“No no, that’s not what I meant, I…… I was just angry and you know how I say things that I don’t mean when am angry” I said and she sighed

Moments later, Alex, Megan, Andrew and Jasmine walked in accompanied by some soldiers

“What was all that Susan!” Alex yelled as he walked towards Susan

“I’ve been working with you for almost a year now and I thought you were smart, how could you make such a stupid mistake and be so sluggish!!” He yelled

“Am…..am sorry Doctor” Susan stuttered and I sighed

I shouldn’t interfere

“Because of your stupid mistake, we almost lost a patient, what the hell was wrong with you? Have you lost your common sense?!” He yelled again and Susan just kept still, looking scared

“Come on puppy, don’t you think you are barking too much?” I asked looking at Alex

“Stay the hell outta this asshole, this is between me and my anaesthesiologist” he said and I chuckled

“Yeah right, just don’t stop barking by my side, it’s uncomfortable and next time you want to borrow my anaesthesiologist, you’ll have to take permission first” I said

“You know what, I have no strength waste on responding to your bickerings and you Susan” he said as he turned to face Susan “Stay away from my operation room from now on and come back when you’ve regained your senses” he said and walked to the other side of the room

💊 Captain Ameer’s POV 💊

“Where is Mr President?” The General asked the the Chief of staff

“He’s currently on a call with London’s Prime Minister assuring him that the medical team he sent are safe and would be rescued soon so please tell me you have a plan in motion to rescue them” the Chief of staff said

“We are thinking of barging in with full force but we’ll need more men and ammunitions”

“Take whatever you need, do whatever you can, just make sure they are rescued” the chief of staff said

💊 Prime Minister’s POV 💊

My phone ranged again and I picked up the call

“Why are you calling me James?” I asked

🗨️ “Did you see the News?” He asked agitated

“Of course I saw the news”

🗨️ “Then why are you so calm when the medical team you sent to Afghanistan is in danger and my son could be killed at any moment?!” He yelled

“Careful of your tone Mr James Wilson, we might have been past acquaintance but I am the Prime Minister now and you must accord me that respect” I warned sternly and he was silent for some moments

🗨️ “Am sorry Mr Prime Minister” he said and I sighed

“I just got off a call with the President of Afghanistan, he assured me everyone is save and they’ll be rescued soon” I explained

🗨️ “Please tell’em to be fast with the rescue, nothing must happen to my son” he said and I scoffed

“Why are you suddenly worried about your son, you sent him to that war zone yourself, no one forced you”

🗨️ “You know I only did that to aid in our mission to kill Alexander Sanchez”

“Yes and I think you are loosing focus right now, don’t you think we can use the current situation to our advantage?” I asked

🗨️ “I don’t understand” he said and I sighed

“Come to my office, I’ll explain better” I said and ended the call and then called my personal assistant into my office

“I have an unofficial request for you, I need you to find a way for me to contact the leader of the Taliban army” I said

“Okay Sir” he said

💊 Alex’s POV 💊

Hours passed and we were still on the floor with the Taliban forces sorrounded us

The boy is asleep on Jasmine’s lap and Jasmine seems to be sleepy too and me? Am just so tired

“Are you okay?” Emma whispered and I looked at her

“Of course, why’d you ask?”

“Well your hands are shaking, didn’t take the drugs that Mason gave you for the tremors?” She asked and my jaw dropped

“How on Earth did you know about my tremors, Mason and the drugs?” I asked

“Is that really important right now? Just…… Where’s the drugs, you need to take them to stop the tremors”

“It is important to me, you seem to know everything about me but the only thing I know about you is your name” I said

“My name isn’t the only thing you know about me, you know my age, you know my address, you also know I was once a secretary to the president of the Association of Neurological Societies”

“This is not a joke Emma, am being serious, you know much about me more than I even know about myself and all I know about you are irrelevant stuffs so tell me Emma, who are you?” I asked

“This is not the right time Alex” she said

“I don’t care about timing anymore, you promised to tell me everything when I get out of the quarantined room and now am what and am listening”

“Alex…..”

“Hey Doctor!” One of the soldiers that just came in called and I looked at him

“Our leader is awake, you must check up on him” he said

“We’ll talk about this later and I’ll definitely get my answers then” I said as I stood up and followed the soldier

We got to the hospital wing and their leader was really awake

I took of the oxygen support to know if he can speak yet

“Can you see me?” I asked

“Yes, who are you?” He asked though weakly

“Your doctor and I’ll advise you not to talk much, you’ve just started recovering” I advised

“I’ll be fine doctor” he said as he tried to sit up and his soldiers helped him “I am a fighter”

“What’s your name?” He asked

“Alexander Sanchez” I replied

“You saved my life and for that I owe you and the leader of the Taliban forces owes no one so tell me what you want, I’ll pay back my debt”

“Really? Then can you release me and my friends?” I asked hopefully

“That I cannot do, you all are my insurance of staying alive in case the Afghanistan soldiers tries to attack which I think they are already planning so think of something else” he said and then turned to the man standing by his side

“Get me one of the burner phones, I need to call the president Villa” he said and the man left to get the phone

“It’s safe for me to move around in a wheelchair right?” He asked and I nodded

“Then get me a wheelchair” he said to the other man and he left to get it

“Why do you want to call the presidential Villa?” I asked

“To inform them to drop any plan they have of attacking us here or the moment my men sights them near the camp, I’ll cut of the heads of all my hostages and hang it outside the camp for vultures to feed on their skull” he said and a cold chill ran through me

Can’t believe this is the man I just saved his life

The man he sent to bring a phone came back with the phone and he collected it

“Escort our doctor here back to the place where all our hostages are kept” he said and the man obeyed so I was escorted back to the meeting room where everyone was

“What happened? Is he really awake?” Jasmine asked while Emma looked at me curiously

“He is awake and I don’t think the Afghanistan army will be able to rescue us anytime soon”

“Why? Did anything happen?” Emma asked

“To put it simply, he’s going to kill us all if they attempt to rescue us” I said

“What!” Jasmine exclaimed

“Shut up!!” One of the men pointing a gun at us yelled and we quickly kept quiet

Moments later, their leader was wheeled into the meeting room

“Alexander Sanchez” he called and I quickly stood up

“It’s funny isn’t it, how our own people wants us dead, I just received a call from your prime minister, he wants me to kill you in exchange for a huge sum of money” he said

“What!” I exclaimed “This joke”

“The leader of the Taliban forces jokes with no one boy” he said

“But……. It can’t be true, I mean why will he want me dead?” I asked confused

“There’s no end to the greed of humanity boy and if you try to apply reason to humans want you’ll only drown yourself in the pit of confusion”

“So are you going to kill me?” I asked on seeing a gun on his hand

“No, am going to let you live, you saved my life and I spared yours, consider my debt paid, I owe you nothing now” he said and I sighed

“Are you being serious?!” Ryan said as he stood up and the leader looked at him

“The Prime Minister is offering you a huge amount of money to get rid of this asshole and you are letting him live?!” Ryan asked raising his voice

“The leader of the Taliban forces is no one’s personal assassin” he said and Ryan scoffed

“Are you kidding me? You’ve killed alot of people before and killing one more will surely makes no difference”

“I choose who to kill and who not to” the leader said

“So you’ll loose a chance to get a huge amount of money just for your stupid personal sentiments!” Ryan yelled and the leader chuckled softly

The next thing I knew was the leader quickly gripping his gun and shooting Ryan……
