💊 Ryan’s POV 💊

I spent some time at the party and then I entered a cab to the family Mansion

It’s good to finally be home

“Welcome back brother, the crushes suits you” Robert said immediately I entered the house

“Where is Dad?” I asked ignoring his jest

“In his office, he seems very happy about something” Robert said

“He’s happy because his son is back safely” I said as I began to walk towards dad’s office

“I won’t keep my hopes up if I were you!” Robert yelled but I ignored him

I knocked on the door

“Come in come in” I heard Dad’s voice and I quickly opened door

“Am back Da….”

“Did you watch the news Ryan?” He asked immediately I walked in with my crutches

“Wha……what news?” I asked

“Alexander Sanchez, turns out he’s suffering from hand tremors so his medical license is going to be revoked, he won’t be a surgeon anymore” he said

“Oooh” I said

“What’s wrong Ryan, this is supposed to be good news”

“You…..you didn’t even notice am on crutches, I managed to return safely from a war zone but all you care about is Alexander Sanchez”

“Why are you suddenly behaving like a kid Ryan, we just achieved something great, we should be celebrating” he said

“Am tired, celebrate alone” I said and went out

“I told you not to keep your hopes up” Robert said laughing and I just hissed and went away

💊 Alex’s POV 💊

🗨️Come to my office straightaway!” The director said and ended the call

What’s all this?
How did this happen?

I quickly took my car keys and drove to the hospital

“Welcome back doctor Alex” Nurse Chloe said but I just waved her aside

I took the elevator straight to the the Director’s office
I knocked, then opened the door

Emma was already there with the Director

“Director….”

“What the hell is all this Alex?!” He yelled “You had hand tremors? How could you hide such an important thing from me? You deceived us all! How on Earth were you even able to pass your medical exams? ”

“I can explain director”

“Your explanation holds no value Alex, you know the rules, your medical license is revoked as from this moment, you are no longer a surgeon, you can go pack your stuffs from your office before living” the director said with a tone of finality

“Come on, you can’t do this to me Director, you can’t. I am good at my job and you know that, the hand tremors have never been a problem when it comes to discharging my duties and it will never be”

“It’s already a problem Alex, no one will put their life on your hands now that they no that your hands may fail you at anytime, the hand tremors prevent you from discharging your duties effectively and I certainly won’t put any patient’s life in danger just because of your selfish greed to continue working here”

“But Director…..”

“Miss Griffin, please escort Mr Alexander Sanchez out of my office” the director said turning to Emma and she stood up

I sighed and walked out of the office with Emma

“I think I know who did this Emma, it was the Prime Minister, I went to confront him at his house some hours ago and he threatened to make me regret it, he’s definitely responsible for this, that cunning old man, how on Earth did he know about my hand tremors, now he’s ended my career that I worked so hard for, am definitely going to kill him, he’s done enough, I don’t care if I go to jail, I am going to kill him..”

“Just shut up!!” Emma yelled “Is this all a joke to you? You think all this is a joke right?”

“Of course not Emma, what are you saying?”

“I warned you Alex, I warned you to keep your cool but what did you do? Immediately we landed in London, you went and blabbered everything you know to the Prime Minister, we were going to use the element of surprise Alex, the Prime Minister was never supposed to know you’ve found out anything but you spoilt everything instead and now, you can’t even practice your job as a doctor anymore, you are absolutely useless to me now” she said and started walking away but I held her hand

“I made a mistake Emma…..”

“Yes you did!!” She yelled “You were so stubborn that you refused to listen to me, you never listen to anyone cause you always feel you are right. I spent more than five years working on this plan Alex but you ruined everything in a day, do you know how I suffered all those years? The only thing that kept me going was the thought that I was going to get my revenge one day but you just ruined that. I never want to see you again Alex, it was my fault for involving you in first place” Emma said and walked away while I just stood dejected

What have I done?

I took the elevator to the third floor and bumped into Tony

“I was looking everywhere for you man, today was supposed to be a day of celebration cause you guys returned from that war zone safely but how the hell did your hand tremors ended in the news?” Tony asked

“Where are you going?” He asked

“To get my stuffs, I’ve just been sacked and my medical license revoked” I said as I walked towards my office

“Alex…” Tony called sadly

“I want to be alone please” I said as I entered my office

Well, I guess this won’t be my office anymore

💊 Jasmine POV 💊

I paid the driver immediately he dropped me off in front of the hospital

“Your change ma’am” the driver said but I was already running into the hospital

I bumped into Doctor Tony at the reception

“Where are you going in such a hurry Jasmine?” He asked

“Alex…..where is he?”

“You heard the news?” He asked and I nodded

“The director told him to pack all his belongings and leave the hospital, he must be going through a lot right now” Tony said

“So where is he?”

“In his office” he said and I muttered a thanks and immediately started running towards the elevator

“But he wanted to be left alone!” Tony yelled but I was already entering the elevator

I got out of the elevator on the third floor and I ran to Alex’s office and entered without working

He was already packing his things and he stopped to look at me immediately I ran in

“Thank God you are here, I was so worried about you. How did it happen Alex? How the hell did those reporters know that you have hand tremors?” I asked but he just stared at me

“Oh am sorry, I forgot am not supposed to call you by just your name, so what happened Doctor Alex?”

“There’s no need for that am not a doctor anymore” he said as he continued packing

“Are you okay?” I asked but he just ignored me

“Alex” I called and he stopped and looked at me

“I want to be alone Jasmine” he said

“But….”

“I want to be alone!!” He yelled and I flinched

“Okay……. I’ll…… I’ll leave” I said and walked out of his office

I sat on a chair by the hallway as a tear rolled down my face

Why the hell do I feel so hurt because of him

💊 Alex’s POV 💊

I packed my things to my car and drove home

I dropped the box containing my stuffs that I packed from the hospital in the sitting room

My phone rang and it was Mason

He’s probably worried about me too but I don’t want to talk to anyone right now

My phone beeped again and a message came in from the Prime Minister

💬 I warned you didn’t I?
You are too weak to fight me Alex
I hope you’ve learnt your lesson now?

“Ahhh!!!” I yelled as I threw my phone to the wall breaking it into pieces

I took a cab back home and met Megan in the sitting room

“Are you okay Jas?” She asked

“Yeah, am fine” I replied as I walked straight to my room and sat on the bed

He must be going through so much pain right now
If only I can be there to comfort him now

I just feel like there’s much more to Alex than I know about
If only he’ll let me in and tell me about his problems

Then I remembered what I heard him say in the plane while speaking with Emma

He had said his parents were murdered

I quickly took my laptop and searched Alexander Sanchez on the net

Then I clicked on his biography

His Dad was Medical researcher and his Mom was a Neurosurgeon but both of them disapeared one night and they are still missing up till date

“Were they really murdered? By who?….”

We were given a 3 days holiday before we resume work at the National hospital

But nevertheless, am still going to the hospital today

I took a cab to the hospital and met with Doctor Tony

“I’ve been trying to call him since last night but it won’t go through” I said to Tony

“Wait outside for some minutes, I’ll finish my work here and we’ll go check on him together” he said and I agreed

Minutes later, he came out and drove us to Alex’s apartment

“Alex!” He called as he knocked but there was no response

We continued knocking for minutes but there was still no response

“Maybe we should give him sometime, he really wants to be alone” Tony said and we agreed to come back and check on him the next day

The next day, we went there and the same thing happened

No response from him and I was starting to get worried

“Do you think we should call for help? What if he hurt himself?” I asked Tony

“Alex is pretty stubborn but he isn’t a fool so am sure he’s fine”

“Then why isn’t he opening the door?!”

“Let’s come back again tomorrow, if by then he still doesn’t open up, we’ll break in” he said and I agreed

“Come, I’ll drive you home” he said and I muttered a thanks

“Alex!!” We called as we knocked

“He’s still not answering Tony, should I call 911?” I asked

“No need, lend me your hair pin” he said as he looked at the long thin pin I used to hold my hair and I gave it to him

Then he started to use the pin on the lock trying to unlock it

“You know how to pick a lock?” I asked

“Yeah, I was pretty stubborn as I child you know, I’d break to my parents room and steal their money so you know, old habits die hard” he said

We spent some more minutes and finally he was able to unlock the door

I quickly went inside and met broken glasses all over the floor

“Where is he?” I asked

“Check his bedroom” Tony said pointing at the bedroom and I quickly ran there

And there he was, sitting on the floor beside his bed, looking like a broken man

“Alex” I called as I quickly ran to him and squatted beside him

“Am done” he said as he looked at me with teary eyes

“What?”

“My life is a mess, I worked so hard to become a doctor and the man that murdered my parents took that away from me like it was nothing and yet, there’s nothing I can do about it, am so useless, I have no reason to live anymore” he cried and I hugged him

“You aren’t useless Alex, you are the best Neurosurgeon in the whole world and you must keep living, at least for me cause I can’t live without you” I said as a tear rolled down my face
