Sade’s heart tale episode 4

SADE’S HEART TALE 💌
Part 4
By AMAH’S HEART.

“Whaaat..? She scre-med and looked at me like she saw a ghost.

“… No..no, I’m not sure I heard you correctly, please repeat..” Bimpe said as she put a hand to her ears.

“I said that Ayomide asked me to marry hi…”

“Wait…wait stop repeating it because is an abomination to my ears. What did you say or do after hearing this nonsense from him..”?

I sighed, Bimpe was getting all worked up with this wh0le thing and as much I needed her opinion I don’t like this violent show she was displaying.

“I did not do anything. I told him that I will think about it…”

I was still talking when she cut him angrily “Sade, you mean you did nothing, you want to tell me that you didn’t slap that wretched rat for asking you such a stupid question? You see how foolish and dull you are? When you supposed to react and display craziness for that good for nothing man you did nothing. Now that you’re telling me, should I applaud you? The first thing you supposed to do was to slap the day light out if his eyes, maybe by then his brain will reset and he will understand the gravity of the question he asked. Oh God, I feel like seeing him right now so that I will show him that lions don’t mix with pigs, I will show him the gutter he belongs. He did not see another lady of his class to go on a poverty journey with him, is my own sister…”

Bimpe was boiling angrily, far beyond what I expected.
“…. that cow, that church rat asked you to marry him and you didn’t look for a fat plank and break his head before asking him to repeat the question. Trust me he won’t dare open his mouth and vomit such trash again. You see what you caused? I asked you, warned you to stop moving with that good for nothing man but you refused to listen. That’s why you’re always blacklisted, you don’t attract anything good. Look at me, Deji, my fiance is into oil well and also a cyber engineer. He has two cars and about to finish his two storey building. I don’t move with rubbish or seen around crayfish…I move with big fish. in about four months time we will be married. Mum and Dad must not even hear this rubbish from you. Sade, Move with big boys and you will see how much blessings your life will attract, but when you move with things like whatever his name is you will attract his kind. Don’t bring shame and disgrace to the family. See the way everyone respect me and gives me my way, even Mom and Dad. If you want such respect then start moving with big fish. I hate this rubbish you just told me… I’m so angry right now. And he is lucky that I’m a very busy person I would have shown him madness today..”

Sincerely, after the conversation with Bimpe I became totally discouraged.

Bimpe was the first born and eldest sister. Since Ayomide’s proposal didn’t go down well with Bimpe, it means it does not supposed to go down well with me too.

But on a second thought, I decided to talk to my immediate elder sister, Folake. Let me get her opinion over the issue.
She may not have anything negative to say about it, atleast Folake’s word may suit me and bring back hope.

But after I told Folake about Ayomide, her facial expression changed
She immediately asked me.
“, Are you insane? Sade, are you mad or something? You shouldn’t even give such a question a second thought, a common teacher with nothing in his pocket? What exactly do you want to do with an ordinary primary school teacher that got nothin to offer us. Do you know how much they pay them as salary? His salary is probably
my two weeks recharge card money. Is not even up-to the upkeep money Tunde my boyfriend give me for a week. How will that one take care of you? He has not even finish taking care of himself, talk more of taking care of another. Don’t ever make such expensive mistake Sade… don’t try it…”

Folake worsen the wh0le issue.

Ayomide’s only sin was because he is a teacher who was working like elephant and eating like ant.
Teachers do alot to impact knowledge and kindness to this wicked world but their efforts is hærdly acknowledged.

Ayomide is a great teacher and if he was to be paid according to the work he brings to the table he will be a rich man.

But as the general pidgin proverb goes “monkey dey work baboon dey chop”
This case applies to Ayomide

After two weeks Ayomide asked me how far with his request, I told him that I was not done thinking about it.
I told him that I will get back to him he shouldn’t rush me.

The news gets to my mom’s ear, I don’t know who told her.
But it was a good thing because I couldn’t have done it by myself.
she also display her own disapproval.

My Mom blames me for trying to bring shame to the family.
She used my sister who are dating or about to marry well to do men as an example and asked me why my lifestyle is always different.
She said if I dey try such she will count me off among her children and will never come close to my place.
I will suffer greatly for the consequences.

I became scared and decided not to go on with it.
I even stopped speaking to Ayomide.
I don’t pick his calls anymore or reply his messages.

One day, he sent me a message that hit a large part of my heart after reading it.

“I know, you probably have your fears, is okay to have them, I won’t wave it off or sweet talk you into thinking that I don’t also have fears of my own. i totally understand you Sade. you may think I don’t but I do. You wonder if my job can fetch much for us, you wonder about your family and they might have discouraged you in some ways. Love is not always enough but one thing I can reassure you is that you will never regret anything if you become my wife. I will do all I can as a man to provide, I will work hærd to upgrade and earn more. I’m already working towards that. All of this I will do with dignity and God fearing. God is my bedrock and i can assure that he has never disappointed me before. Please trust me like you have always done Sade. But if at the end your fear over powered your faith then I will never stop cheering you on even if you decide to settle with another man. You will always be my Sade and I will never stop praying and wishing you well..”

I called him and we spoke but my fears still remains.
They did not go away but my faith in Ayomide was coming back again.

I met Titi my friend and she said something that was only the truth.

My family does not truly care about me they’re only after a good, honorable name for their selves.
“my daughter married Mr this that has that, my sister got married to Mr A that has so and so”.

None of them cares about my happiness and has never cared.
If Ayomide was lecturing in one of the well paid universities and was getting a fat salary with a nice car, she was sure my family wouldn’t mind.
But isn’t all still teaching?
They don’t like the fact that Ayomide was getting stipend as salary and was a primary school teacher with nothing to his name.
They can’t boast with his person.
They gave up on me and thought nothing good will ever comes out, they abandoned me to fate and now they all want to dictate who I should settle with. They only want their own happiness and not mine. Ayomide may not be to their standard but he is a man with integrity who is ready to do anything in a godly way to make me happy.
At the end is still my choice.
She asked me to pray over the wh0le issue and be serious with it.
God will direct me better than anyone will.

I decided to really pray. I prayed and asked God to direct me so that I don’t lose a good man because of the fear of my family.
My Dad had said I was already a disappointment and he wasn’t surprise.

No family supported the idea but deep down in my spirit I had faith in Ayo.

After my prayers I was more convinced to go on with it.
I accepted to marry Ayo.

He was happy as we started planning on our introduction and I was looking for a way to break it down to my family.

Nothing they say will make me change my mind.
I’m getting married to Ayo and they will have to deal with it.
