Chapter Thirty-Six
Kimberly rushed into the ward Steven was receiving treatment and ran to him.
She’d heard about the news from Damien. Steven had ask Damien to call Kimberly to come see her.
Damien hesitated at first but later, he’d call Kimberly.
“Oh my God! Who did this to you?” Kimberly winced as if she was the one who got hurt.
“Some assassins. The doctors said I will be fine soon. I just came out of surgery two days ago.” Steven answered her.
“You mean you’ve been shot few days ago and you didn’t bother to call me? Or was my boss hesitating to tell me?”
“No, I called him yesterday. Could you get my cloth in my car?” He asked.
“What if I didn’t come?”
“I was going to send the nurse.” Steven smiled.
“Alright.” Kimberly agreed. “When I come back, you will tell me what happened to you that day”
Kimberly came back with the cloth but also with a paper that was half written.
“Here.” She gave him the cloth first before showing him the paper.
“What’s that?” Her stepbrother asked, innocently.
“I don’t know but it seems the person who wrote this, is kind of in danger.”
Steven w¡dened his eyes. “The girl!” He mumbled and collected the paper.
He read; “Please, go to my brother and tell him that our uncle Alex was the one who kidnapped me. I’m in Germany. My name is Emily. Please find my brother and tell him to save me. His name is D…… ” It wasn’t completed.
She didn’t get to complete the name. And why would he help her to look for his brother? No, he can’t risk his life for her again. The one he had, that’s enough.
He nearly F-cking died. “She’s the girl I was trying to save when the assassins attack us. They were after the girl and I was shot”
Steven explained.
“She’s Emily?” All this while Steven was reading, realization struck her. She suddenly understood everything in the letter.
Damien’s sister! She’s Emily and even Steven had tried to help her escape.
“Yes.” Steven breathed out.
“Do you know she’s Damien’s lost sister? He has been looking for her for months!” Kimberly exclaimed.
“Dam..Damien? Do you mean your boss?”
Kimberly nodded.
That explains it all. The Empire Estate and everything. Even the almost striking resemblance he barely noticed then.
“She was abducted by his uncle Alex. And we’ve been receiving dangerous warning from this very man.”
“Then, you need to tell your boss about this” He should be more prepared and alert now that she’s here.” Steven replied and sighed.
“Yeah, I should let him. I pray this goes well. I don’t want any one to get hurt.”
“As long as the police is involve. Everything will be alright.”
“Police? This is not a matter of police for now. We have to do something halfway then the police can finish the rest.” Kimberly shook her head, disagreeing.
“That aside. Thank you for being here. I’m sorry for what I did to you.” It was awkward, but he has to say.
“It’s okay. I don’t hold grudges on people. I have to go. I was only given few time to spend with you. You know my boss” Kimberly grinned and took her bag. “You have to get well soon and go back home. I hate hospitals so I don’t want to come back here anymore” She added with as smile.
“Sure, Sis. I will. Go and meet your ‘rude’ boss. I don’t want him to fire you.”
Kimberly smiled. She was confident that Damien can’t sack her. Maybe only when betray him.
Kimberly took her bag and stepped out of the room. She sighed and made her way to leave the hospital.

“How’s he?” Damien asked with disgust.
He didn’t like the idea of Kimberly going to Steven. Buy he was the one who asked her to go and there’s no turning back.
“He’s fine. At least, he escaped surgery. Sir Damien, I found something.” Kimberly began as she sat on the chair facing him.
“What is it?” Damien listening attentively at the same time, busy with the papers in his hands.
“I found something about Emily. She’s in Germany right now.” She stretched out the paper she saw in Steven’s car and dropped it for Damien to see. “She wrote this. She tried escaping with the help of Steven too but she was caught and that’s why Steven was shot too. Because he tried to help her.” She explained.
Damien’s body got tensed. He dropped the papers in his hands just in a swift and took the small paper. He read the letter and his face went pale.
“I knew she’s here already. She called but our conversation didn’t even last 1 minute before she was caught. I think….it’s time to take the necessary actions. I won’t watch and see my sister in captive just like that. I’ve got someone trace the number for me, I hope they get the location.”

Chapter Thirty Seven
“I will advise we take things easy, Sir Damien.”
“Take what things easy?” Damien scoffed. “All i need is to be careful and find every f-cking way to get my sister from that monster and put him and his damn men into jail.”
Kimberly nodded and got up from her seat, prepared to leave but Damien stopped her.
“Are you recieving any threats from your stepfather?” He glanced at her.
He still care and asked about how she’s fairing?
“No. I did not recieve any.” She answered.
“J..just needed to ask. If he trys anything stupid, do not hesitate to tell me. Call me Mr Ben. There will be three days holiday starting from Tuesday. Inform all staffs about this.” Damien told her.
“Why sudden three days holiday?” Kimberly was surprised to hear that. What’s he planning to do? Why the sudden holiday?
Damien gave her a frown and said, ” Because it going be christmas soon.On wednesday is christmas.” He rolled his eyes at her and continue what he was doing. ” I guess you have a lot of things in your mind that you forgot about christmas.” Damien threw her a glance again.
“Oh! That’s true. It going to be christmas. I only spend christmas with Chloe and Anita.”
“That’s lucky! What about me who doesn’t spend Christmas with anyone. While people spend Christmas, I’d be here and drowning myself with drinks. Celebrating it all to myself.”
Suddenly, Kimberly felt she shouldn’t have said that. He has no one to spend that special day for him.
“I will go call Mr Ben and inform the staffs about the holiday.” She scurried away.

Kimberly informed the staffs about the three days holiday and also delivered Damien’s message to the Mr Ben.
Now, she has so many plans to do on Christmas day. Mr Ben had told her something quite interesting her boss couldn’t tell her.
She smiled at that and continued with her work.
Soon, the company closed for the day and everyone went separate ways. Kimberly got home and received a call from Anita.
“Hey babe!” Anita squealed on the phone.
“I’m fine. How was your day?” She replied her while she made her way to her bedroom. She dropped her bag, put the phone on speaker before dropping it on the table to change into another cloth.
“It was awesome. I called to tell you that I might not be around to celebrate Christmas with you, baby. I’m sorry.”
“Why? Are you going somewhere?”
“Yes. I’m traveling to Texas with Kent.” Anita answered.
“Oh! You’re finally going to make that guy yours, isn’t it Anita?” Kimberly shook her head.
She made her way out of the room to the kitchen.
“Of course! I’m now a repented human now. Bye, I have to go, okay? I need to go back him. He’s all mine.”
Kimberly could hear the voice of a man in the background. She smiled and said, “Make sure you handle him well tonight!”
“Oh my! Of course! Since when did you start to get naughty, Kimberly?” Anita said almost in a whisper.
“Since when I have you and Chloe as best friends. Anyway, he doesn’t want you to keep him waiting. Bye and enjoy your Christmas.” Kimberly chuckled and hung up.
Before she could start dinner, she received a message from Chloe.
“Anita told me she isn’t spending the Christmas with us. I’m sorry too baby but I will be spending Christmas too with Leonard. You can join us if you want. Love you.”
“So, my two friends just ditched me like that? I’m spending the Christmas alone this time. Maybe I should start seeing someone out too and be very busy.” She breathed out and returned to cook.

“Welcome, boss. We caught her back for you.” One of Alex’s men said, welcoming him as he just arrived from Italy.
Alex waved his hand at him and sat down on the couch.
“Are you still getting the information I asked you to get. What about the lawyer?” He answered instead.
“He’s traveling with his manager Mr….” The man tried to remember the name.
“Mr Ben?” Alex helped him.
“Yes, Mr Ben
“So, that gecko man is still offering himself to Damien and the company” He chuckled and asked him to continue.
“They will be traveling to Miami for a contract worth billions of dollars. And the lawyer, he’s still strong head and seems to be loyal to Damien but I’m trying my best to turn him to our side.”
“Hmm…..Leave the lawyer to me. I need to start dealing with Damien by making him crumble down. I will make him pauper.” Alex stated and was about to dismissed the man when he said again. “Keep your eye on the girl. She’s going crazy these days and might try to escape once more.” He instructed and finally dismissed him.

On Christmas, At night.
“Here’s the cake you ordered ma’am.” The delivery lady said as she handed over the chocolate cake to Kimberly.
She collected it and paid the girl before closing her door.
“Merry Christmas to you, Kimberly. I can’t believe this day came so fast than I expected.” She sighed and dropped to the floor then placed the cake in front of her.
“Let’s celebrate this day all to yourself, baby girl! Chocolate cake is here to celebrate with you. And a movie to watch.” She said to herself and turned on the TV.
She opened the box and brought out the cake to cut into pieces but stopped seeing an advertisement of the Dam-Ton Company on TV. She was about to change it but change her mind seeking her boss in a very milk neat and well-colored tuxedo.
“He’s so handsome that you’re drooling, Kimberly” She chuckled to herself and changed to another channel.
Her mind suddenly drifted to him again. What will he be doing now on this Christmas? Probably go out to a club and dance, sleep with ladies and get drunk throughout the day and even this night.
The thought about Damien with another ladies stung her little.
“I don’t have to poke nose into his private life.” She cautioned herself.
Ah! He must be at the office! She suddenly remembered what he’d told her that day about spending the Christmas alone in the office today.
She got up and dashed into her room and came out dressed in one of her favorite gown.
“I look like someone going on a date but it okay. It a special day today.” She grabbed her things with the cake and dashed out of the house.
She boarded the cab and head straight to the office.
She met few people but passed them to the Damien’s office.
Kimberly opened the door with a smile, walking into the office and found Damien sitting right on the floor staring out at the world celebrating Christmas.
“Merry Christmas and Happy birthday, Sir Damien.” Kimberly announced her presence and he turned slowly.
He w¡dened his eyes and got up quickly. “Kimberly?” He said, not expecting her to be here.
“What’s that voice I’m hearing, Damien?” A lady came out dressed in a short skirt and a V-neckline top. The lady raised her head and it was Clara.
