Chapter Six
But it seems Kimberly has been carried away. She was staring at the man from afar who was holding a pregnant woman’s wa-ist.

“Nathan?” She said in shock.
The man she has been looking for.

Damien looked at the direction she was looking at.
“Who’s Nathan?” He asked, facing her.

“My fiance. We are getting married in two weeks time.” Kimberly explained.

“Married?!” Damien shrieked. He didnt even know why.
“You’re getting married? Wow! I never thought you’d be getting married at that young age.” He scoffed.

“Sir! I’m twenty-three! I’m old enough to get married.” She frowned.
“I need to check if that’s him or not. He can’t possibly be with another when he should be preparing for our wedding. Or maybe the woman is Nathan’ sister.”

“Don’t be dumb. He’s holding the woman’s wa-ist and can’t you see the way he’s staring at her?” Damien rolled his eyes at her.

Why’s he involving himself in her business.

“I’m coming. I want to be sure of something.” Kimberly ran off before her boss could even say a word.

Damien breathed out. “Why do I feel that she’s going to have a heart break soon.” He said to himself and watched Kimberly stopped the guy and the heavily pregnant lady.

As Kimberly stood right in front of the two, she w¡dened her eyes.
“Nathan! What are you doing here and why the f*ck didnt you tell me you’re traveling? And who is this woman?” She rushed her questions as she glared at the woman.

“Kimberly, I never thought you’d be here. Well, she’s my sister. The one I’m talking about.” Nathan smiled as he saw Kimberly calm down.
She was breathing fire before.

“The one you’ve been talking about? Sophia?” She asked and Nathan nodded.
“I’m sorry. I’m just angry that you haven’t been answering my call. Don’t tell me you forgot about our wedding.” Kimberly smiled.

“Of course not! And that’s why she’s here. Anyway, what are you doing here?”

“I came with my boss for business. I’m now a Secretary.” She replied. “Are you going home now?”

“Yeah. You can meet us at home when you’re through with the business trip with your boss. Just call me when you’re coming, so I’d pick you myself.” Nathan said and k-ssed her l-ips before walking Sophia out of the hotel.

But Kimberly is curious. She still doubt Nathan but she shook her mind off it. Not the time to think about it now.

She returned to her boss, Damien who has been waiting.

“So? He’s the one?” He asked with a cold face.

“Yes. He said that’s his sister. She came to attend our wedding.” Kimberly answered and stared at her engagement ring with a smile.

Damien shook her head secretly at her. She’s too innocent, too naive to know what’s going on around her.

“Let’s go. Before we leave, I’m calling the police to arrest those idiots that are trying to tarnish my image.”

“Yes, Sir.”

One week later,
Everything was going well and Kimberly has been preparing for her wedding. It’s just few days to her wedding and she was very very excited.

She’d called Sophia to help her choose her wedding gown. The two became close but somehow Kimberly did suspect her strange behaviors. Especially, when with Nathan.

She went to work the next day to talk to her boss about her wedding. She’d be absent.

“Aren’t you going to invite me?” Damien frowned at the happy Kimberly.

How could she be this happy?
“Because you’re not going to come! You’re one busy man.” She smiled.
Oh! She has the brightest smile.

“Says who? Invite me properly and I’m going to come.” Damien said.

“Really? Okay. Sir, I’m inviting you to my wedding and I hope you come. At least, you’d see some girls to take home.” Kimberly laughed at her joke while Damien smiled. He watched her closely.

She is beautiful.

“So Sir, are you coming?” Kimberly jolted him with her words.

“Yes. I am.” He nodded.

“Thanks. I’m going now. See you on my wedding day.” Kimberly walked out of the office.
“Who knows if he’s making a fake promise. His face is quite expressionless.”

The day came and Kimberly was the first to get up from her bed and rushed to where her wedding gown is. She rubbed her hands on it. Feeling its smooth and fine texture.

“It’s my wedding day.” She almost scre-m.

She quickly took her bath and when she stepped into her room. Sophia and two other ladies came in. Anita and Chloe. Kimberly’s best friends.

“You’ve taken your bath already?” Chloe asked in shock.

“Yeah, I woke up early”

“I guess you’re too excited for the wedding.” Anita spoke too and came to hug her.
“Happy wedding day, baby. I hope your wedding night will be the best.” She chuckled.

“Wait! are you still intact?” Chloe threw the question.

“Hey! What are you saying? Don’t you know Kimberly? I’m sure she’s still intact. She’s always the V-rgin Mary of our time.” Anita giggled.

“You can say that again. She’s too naive and innocent. She’d say it’s unholy to sleep with guys around.” Chloe responded.

“But not for us. I can’t count the guys have slept with this year.” Anita cackled.

“Oops! Well, as for me, have slept with four guys this month and all have big d*cks. Kimberly is really missing something.” Chloe pushed Kimberly a little.

“Gosh! I can’t believe you girls are saying this in front of me. That’s why you two don’t have a permanent boyfriend.” Kimberly ch¡pped in.

“You know we all have to taste before choosing the one that’s best for us.” Anita said, licking her l-ips s€×ily. Chloe agreed with her too.
“You know, what a man can do, a woman can do better.” Chloe grinned before turning to Sophia that has been watching them without saying anything.
“You’ve been standing there. I hope your feet aren’t hurting? You’re pregnant.” Chloe said with concern.

“I know. Let’s go take our bath and get ready for the wedding and let’s not just stay here and talk.” Sophia walked out immediately.

“I hope she’s alright and not planning anything funny.” Anita shrugged and walked out too.

“She looks like the Witch of the West.” Said Chloe before walking out too.

Hours later,

Everyone was ready. Kimberly looked so beautiful in her wedding gown. Her frequent smile made her more beautiful.

“You look like a queen, Kimberly.” Anita and Chloe stared at her amazingly after they did her makeup.

Sophia hasn’t come out of her room yet.

“So, it’s time. But I haven’t heard from Nathan since yesterday.” Said Kimberly.

“Don’t be worried. He’s coming.” Anita assured her and she nodded.

Sophia was called and they left the house to the church.
Nathan isn’t there and they waited.

“Okay, this is getting weird. Where’s this guy? I hope it’s not what I’m thinking?” Anita swallowed.

“That he’s dumping her?” Chloe questioned and got a nod from Anita.

Kimberly shivered. “It can’t be. I mean, Nathan can’t just leave me. At least, he should leave a message.”

If Nathan dump her, she’s finished. She won’t be able to take it. She can’t get a heart break at this age.
Not even after what her stepfather and stepbrother did. They made her see hell a lot and even almost rape her but she was lucky to escape.

She had ran into Nathan’s hand when she went out for a walk and that’s how their relationsh¡p started from there.

“Wow! Who’s that god?” Anita exclaimed as they both turned their head to see Damien coming their way.

“He’s my boss? I invited him.” Kimberly answered.

“Oh my! You just invited an Angel to your wedding!” Chloe gazed at him as he walked to them.

“Good morning, Kimberly. You look good in your wedding gown.” Damien smiled.

Just good? Not beautiful? Anyway, that’s not what’s bothering her.

“Why are you still outside?” Damien asked

“The groom is yet to come and it’s getting late already even though it’s just a small wedding among friends and families.” Anita responded.

Kimberly didn’t have any family in Germany. Her parents never show her who her grandparents are or even uncles and aunt.
And she can’t f*cking invite her stepfather and stepbrother. After her father died, her mother married another man who had a son already. He’s around her age.
Kimberly’s mother died few years ago.

Sophia’s phone rang and she picked it.
“Where the hell are you or should I tell them myself?” She barked angrily.
“Fine! I will tell them and leave, okay. Can’t believe you’re putting me in your mess. Next time, I won’t forgive you.” She added.

“Is that Nathan?” Kimberly rushed to her but Sophia stared at her with disgust.

“Yes. Let’s get this straight. I will just cut this short. Nathan is my husband and I’m pregnant for him. We live in Canada before he came to Germany for work. He’s just playing with your heart and it’s a good thing you haven’t slept with him.

I’d call you a cheap slut. As you can see, no one is around yet. Not even the priest. Everything is just fake, Okay? I had to act along too cause he told me to. Have a nice day.” After Sophia spilled everything out, she walked majestically out of the church premises.

Kimberly stood like a statue with tears in her eyes. Chloe and Anita rushed to her and consoled her but that can’t stop it.

“Did…did he just dumped me? Nathan! You made me wear a wedding gown to church even when you knew that there’d be no wedding. You…you just disgraced me.” She sniffed and cried.

Even Damien was too shock to say anything. He stood there and stared at her.
He knew the guy is a deceiver but Kimberly was too naive to notice.

Kimberly walked out of the church premises holding her ball gown in her small hands and ran like a mad woman.

She didn’t know that a truck was coming in speedily and it was too late to turn back. The truck hit her hærd and there she lay in her pool of blood.
Her body was bleeding. The most bleeding part was her head which she hit hærd on the floor.

Anita, Chloe and Damien ran to the scene.
It was horrific for Damien. He took her in his hands and shook her body.

“Kimberly, stay alive okay? Everything is going to be fine.” He almost stuttered.
His heart was beating fast. He closed his eyes as Kimberly squeezed his shirt in pain.
“Boss, you…. look ugly with that..f-face.” Kimberly saw how he was worried for her. He’s almost crying.

But only Damien understand why he’s like that.
He can’t watch someone die again. Not even in his hands.
Three people died in his hands years back.. One after the other. He can’t let that happen again. He looked down, his hands was covered with blood and he realized that Kimberly had released his shirt. She wasn’t moving at all.

He raised his head to the girls and said, “Call the ambulance immediately” They obeyed.
