Loreen ✓
I sat frustrated as I thought of what next to do. Now that the hunters are after my pack and I, nothing seems to be alright.
I have to convince Ashley that it wasn’t I who murdered her mother. Not after what we’ve shared, why will I think of hurting her?
Convincing her doesn’t seem to be the problem… The problem is.. will she listen to me?
I’m as good as innocent and now, I have to pay for the shit someone just created.
” What’s our next plan? ” Mike asked me, feeling as bothered as I am.
” I don’t know. I can’t keep running away from the hunters, it will only make me look like a coward. ”
” So, what are we gonna do? ”
” I say we wait for them to attack. ” I finalize.

The night surfaced quicker, just as the hunters expected. Linda with some girls were sent to Mr Hale’s mansion but unfortunately, he was nowhere to be found.
Only the servants were seen. Linda had to call Mrs Johnson, informing her that Mr Hale wasn’t in his home.
Mrs Johnson asked them to return to the camp immediately. ” What did she say?” Ashley asked.
” He’s not in his house. ” She replied. ” Guess he knows we’re coming. ”
” He can run, but he can’t hide for long. I’ll find him, we’ll find him and hunt both him and his packs… for good. ” Said Mr Agent in a deep tone.
Mrs Johnson looked at Ashley, ” Do you know any other place Mr Hale could be?” She asked.
Ashley shook her head. ” No, we’ve never shared our secrets to each other. ”
Mr Agent hummed. ” Very well then, we’re left to do this on our own. ”
Ashley remembered Loreen once took her to a place. He said it was his favorite s₱0t where he always spent most of his time.
Somewhere a bit far from home. He had once taken her there but this time, she decided to go there alone.
” Father, I’ve got somewhere to go. I’ll be back soon. ”
” How far is this place? ”
” I don’t know, but trust me, it won’t take long. ” She excused herself.

” She’s coming, ” I said sensing her presence growing closer and closer.
” You told her about this place? ” Mike asked, shocked.
” I had to. Besides, she needs to know about this place. ”

She pushed the iron door open, letting herself in. She peered around the dark room, trying not to cause a noise in the process.
She froze still as the lights went on, staring at the empty room, she thought of going in further. Just then, he walked out from a dark room.
” Just as I expected. ” He said, walking out of the dark room.
” You…” She pointed at him.
” Me…”
” You…”
” Yes, Me… ” He said with his eyes rolled.
” You killed my mother! ” She yelled. ” You took her away from me! I’m gonna kill you! I hate you!! ” She angrily threw the word at him.
” Is that really from your heart? ” He asked her calmly.
” Do you have any idea of what you did? Do you know how important she means to me? You had no heart, no conscience, you just killed her!! ”
” I didn’t kill your mother, Ashley, believe me, I wouldn’t do such a thing to you. ”
” You know, I just discovered that the last time I believed you, I was such an assh-le then, but now, I’ll only be a fool to believe you again. ”
” I’m not asking you to trust me, I’m only trying to let you know the truth. ”
” What truth? ” She scoffed, ” That you didn’t kill her? You’re f-cking kidding me. ”
” I’m being serious, Ash. Why would you think I’d hurt you after all we’ve been through together, after what we’ve shared? Why would you think I would wake up one morning and think of killing your mother? You know if I wanted them dead, I would have done that a long time ago. ”
” I know your parents before I met you, I never killed them… Why now? ”
Ashley said nothing, she kept staring speechless at him.
She listened.
” Mrs Johnson and I have worked in partnersh¡p for thirty years, despite knowing she hunts my kind, I never tried to hurt or kill her, neither have I thought of betraying our trust. You know, I would have delayed the contract because I knew your father was coming to Chicago for my pack, but I didn’t. ”
” I love you, Ashley and hurting you is the least thing I would ever think of doing. Your mother’s life means nothing to me, so as father’s. Killing them worths nothing to me either. ”
” If you aren’t the one who caused the accident, who did? ”
” His name is Victor, alpha of the Moon Walker packs. ”
She sighed heavily, waving off the doubts in him. Although the hatred has taken over her, she tried not to do anything stupid.
If what he had just told her is true, then there’s a hundred percent chance for him to help her hunt him down.
” But, ” she asked. ” how did he know my parents were coming to Chicago? How did he know that they had landed to the City already? ”
” From my own thoughts, I think there’s a spy in that camp. Someone who knows what’s going on within the camp, someone who has everything recorded in his palms. ”
” That’s impossible, ” Ashley found it hærd to believe. ” Mrs Johnson had a thorough supervision on every candidates on our first day in the camp. ”
” We wolfs don’t need technology to communicate among ourselves, we have the ability to communicate with our minds not withstanding the distance. So, that’s how Victor was able to know about your parents. ”
” Seems like you’re really close to this Victor of a guy. ”
He smirked. ” We have nothing in common. ”
She hummed. ” That makes you two enemies then? ”
” I won’t doubt that. ” He shoved his hands into his pocket. ” Why are you here alone? ”
” I would have wanted my father to come along but… ”
” You don’t believe I’d do such a thing? ”
” Honestly, I believed. ” His face wore no expression.
” You had no choice, everyone would do the same thing. ”
” I knew you’d be here. That’s why I decided to come here alone. ”
” You haven’t forgotten. ”
” Even if I want to… it’s just so difficult to. ”
” Your father might suspect you came to see me. ”
” I don’t think so,,, but if he does, I know what to tell him. ”
” He won’t believe whatever you say. ”
” It doesn’t matter if he does or not, all that matters to me is finding the man who killed my mother and hunting him down for good. Will you help me take revenge for my mother?? ” She said with her hand stretched out.
He was ready… To do whatever it is to make her happy… He was ready… To take revenge for her sake.
He held her hand, ” I will. ”

Chapter 20:
~ Ashley pov. ~
A part of me kept on telling me that Loreen is innocent and I don’t wanna believe but now I am forced to believe him
I know that he won’t hurt me intensionally and that alone made me love him more
“So when are we going to make a plan to bring Victor down???” Loreen asked me
“I’ll find a way for us to sit and plan but right now, I need some people to have a discussion with”
I turned back to leave, I had to confused dad and Mrs Johnson that Loreen is innocent
“Hey” Loreen called me back
I turned back to look at him, he surprised me by pulling me in a tight embrace
“You don’t know how glad I am that you believe me. I’m like the most happiest being on earth right now”
I smiled “yeah right” and disengaged from the hug and for the very first time Loreen smiled at me, like a very big smile
“Do you just smile Loreen”
He turned his face away timidly
“Don’t tell me that you are shy now”
“Of course I’m not” I shook my head and quickly left him
” I have to go, ” I said dryly and he pulled me close again, k-ssing me passionately. ” Take care of yourself for me. ” I knew anytime from now, Loreen is not safe.
” I will. ”
I turned to leave, I’d look back again and again until I was out of the building. My heart wasn’t at rest, I was scared.
I was scared of father finding out, and most especially, I was scared of losing him.
I knew he was innocent, I believe my instincts. Loreen won’t do anything stupid, he will never try to hurt my family nor my feelings.
And that’s why I didn’t tell father about this place cos I know what dad is capable of doing.
With his mind, soul and body raking in anger, I know he won’t even try to listen to whatever Loreen’s got to say.
I finally left the building, heading back to the camp. Thankfully, I didn’t spend too long for dad, Mrs Johnson or anyone to suspect.
But… Guess I’m wrong again.
“Where are you coming from young lady” dad questioned me immediately I stepped my feet in the camp, I was startled
“Dad! You terrified me” I started
“Answer my question Ashley”
“I… No I mean actually” I stammered
I haven’t think of how to tell dad and Mrs Johnson about Loreen’s innocent and now that dad is asking I don’t know where to start from
“Why are you stammering Ashley??? Hope its not what I’m thinking”
“What are thinking dad???”
“You know where that murderer is, you just deceived us” I was speechless.
How did dad know??? Oh! I should have see that coming, dad use to be detector that you’ll think he can read your mind
“So I was right after all”
“It’s not like that dad”
“You went to meet to that wolf and you don’t tell anybody so that we won’t try to kill him??? How dare you Ashley, I thought you love your mom but I was wrong after all, you are trying to protect him so that we won’t kill him. You disappoint me for the first time Ashley” he yelled angrily with his eyes filled with unshed tears
“No dad, it’s not like that, I actually wanted to discuss something with you and Mrs Johnson, I…….”
“Hold it there young lady, I’m so angry with you right now” he walked away from me
I busted into tears “dad listen to me please” I call after his fading self but he never answered
“Come on Ashley, you know that your dad is still suffering because of your mom’s dead so leave him be for now, he’ll come around later” I heard Mrs Johnson said behind me
“He’s angry with me Mrs Johnson, what makes you think he will listen to me.” I told her
“Don’t worry he’ll come around later, but right now tell me why you went to Mr Hale without informing anybody, it could’ve be our perfect time to strick him he’ll never suspect anything”
“I’m sorry I don’t tell anyone about going to meet Loreen, I don’t even know that I’ll meet him there, I just guess but I’m lucky I met him”
“So what happened”
“Can we talk in your office please??”
“Yeah sure, come on” I wiped my face clean and followed Mrs Johnson to her office
“Loreen is innocent Mrs Johnson” I told her immediately we settled down in her office
“What do you mean???”
“He wasn’t the one that attacked my parents neither is he the one that killed my mom. It was another person that did it, he is Victor by name, he is actually Loreen’s enemy, he is the alpha in Moon walker pack, he did that so that we’ll hate and hurt Loreen down for the sin he didn’t commit and I got to know that we are having a spy among us here” I explained to her
She stood up from her seat and started pacing to and fro, deep in thought
~ Mrs Johnson pov ~
How can we have spy among us, I screen everyone in this camp and made sure no wolf is among us, so how come there’s one among us and who the hell is the person for Christ sake. I face Ashley back.
” Are you sure about this? ” She questioned.
” Yes, and Loreen said that too. He thinks there is someone working for Victor among us.
“Don’t worry, I know what to do but first I’ll talk with your dad but you don’t have to worry, just go on to your room”. She assured me, tho, it was a little helpful.
