Chapter 4:
The weather was a little bit dark when I woke up. I had practiced effortlessly with the hills last night, and I’m just hoping that I don’t ruin myself out there.
I went to the bathroom for a quick shower. Emma had come earlier to drop my breakfast.
I did everything quietly so as not to wake Lina up but she eventually woke up.
” Morning, ” I greeted.
” Morning. ” She greeted back. ” You still haven’t told me where you’re going to. ”
I sat on my bed, looking at her curious face. I didn’t want to tell her for any reason, but I have to.
If there’s anyone to tell, it’s her. She’s my roommate and she deserves to know whatever I do.
” Mrs Johnson wants me to go to the Ford Motor Company for some new cars she had requested. ” I said.
” New cars? ” She asked. ” What for? ”
” For the org-nization. She said we needed new cars fast enough to catch wolves. ”
” Oh, I see then. ” She yawned, stretching. ” So, how long will you have to be going there? ”
” I don’t know, it’s up to Mrs Johnson to decide. ”
” Okay, take care of yourself. ”
I nodded. I started eating on my served food, I didn’t notice I was long lost until Lina asked, ” Are you alright? ”
I looked at my food, then at her. ” Yes, sure. ”
” Do you think you can walk on those? ” Her eyes diverted to where I had kept the hills.
I shrugged. ” I’m gonna try. ”
Am I, yes of course…
I quickly dressed up, making my way to Mrs Johnson’s office. From afar I saw her enter her office, I wasn’t late after all.
After a knock which she permitted me in, I saw her as she put something in,side a big brown envelope.
” This are the pictures of the new car I had ordered. ” She said, ” You’ll have to submit it to him, the rest is up to him. ”
” After I give this envelope to him, I will be returning back? ”
” Yes. But, it’s likely he might decide to have some few words with you, it’s still up to him to decide. ”
” If he asks me how many cars do we need, what am I to tell him? ” I asked.
” Twenty. ” She replied, ” We need twenty of them. And by the way, you look great in that gown. ”
I blushed as I stared at myself, ” Thank you. ”
We waited for the vehicle who is to take me to the company to arrive.
It was almost getting to 7 o’clock that the sun has already left it’s best to surface the earth.
Lydia entered to inform us that the driver has arrived. ” He’s here. ” She informed.
I looked at Mrs Johnson who esc-rted me out of her office to where the car had packed.
” Try not to feel tensed up while talking to him, okay? ” She said with a smile.
Even as we drove out of the org-nization, I still couldn’t figure out what she meant by ” Try not to feel tensed up while talking to him. ”
I’ve come across different people, including managers and CEO’s of different companies, why would this be so different?
The ride to Ford was slow and calm. The front seats was demarcated with a black dashboard which made it impossible for me to see who was driving the car.
I took my phone from my handbag, checking my statues on any new updates when my phone buzzed.
I looked at was, It was a message from Lina.
📲 “ Have you reached yet? ” she asked.
📲 “ Not yet, I’m still on my way. ”
📲 “ Send me a message when you get there. ”
📲 “ I will. What you doing now? ” I asked.
📲 “ I’m at the cafeteria with Jesse. ”
📲 “ Okay then, lemme not disturb you guys. ”
📲 “ Lolz, you’re not. So, how do you feel being on a s€×y gown to meet a CEO of some kinda famous company? ”
📲 “ Hmm. ” I hummed, dropping a smiling emoji. “ Haven’t thought about that yet. ”
📲 “ Well, guess that’s another gist for tonight then. Don’t forget to send me a message when you get there, okay? ”
📲 “ I won’t. ” I smiled, dropping my phone beside me.
Finally, we arrived at the company. It looked huge and the surrounding looks so beautiful.
Everything were kept in order, cars of different types and sizes were arranged according to their brands and height.
I’m not over dreaming to say that this is a paradise of car production.
He opened the door for me, and I stepped out. My eyes not leaving any bit of it’s beauty, and even as we walked to the main building, my mouth couldn’t stop from gasping.
I’ve been to companies before, a lot of them at San Diego with my dad but I haven’t seen any like this.
As we walk pass a pathway which looked like a bridge, I could get a clear view of where the cars were been manufactured and how they were kept in order of heights and sizes.
” This is incredible! ” I gasped again. I mean, is this how cars are being made? ” Oh, heavens, what am I staring at. ”
We entered a glassy elevator which took us to the last floor of the twenty four storey building.
I noticed eyes were on me as we entered. I’m supposed to feel great with the murmurs and gasps but no, I was feeling shy and uncomfortable.
They were staring at me like I’m some kinda movie actress. And any mistake, I would be landing on the ground for a twisted ankle.
Thankfully, we were out from those weird gazes. We got to a place which almost felt like a cemetery.
There’s one thing I noticed about this place since I walked in. Everywhere is being made of glasses and sparkling white.
” Please wait here. ” He said and I sat on one of the chairs while he entered a room.

Why am I feeling this way right now? Why do I feel cold and… Am I shivering?
Oh no, not now.
” Miss, please follow me. ” Said a young lady.
I followed her to the room, but I was asked to wait outside for a while.
” Sir, she’s here. ” I heard here say.
” Let her in. ” Said a deep voice.
She opened the door, ” Come in. ” I entered while she walked out.
He was staring at his laptop, his glasses rested perfectly above his pointed nose.
I stood like a staff about to be sacked out of her job. Luckily, he closed his laptop, raising his gaze at me.
” Miss…? ” He stretched out his hand for a handshake.
I took his hand, ” Agent. Ashley Agent, Sir. ”
” Please have a seat. ” He ushered and I sat down.
” Mrs Johnson told me you were coming, did she give you the doc-ments? ”
” Yes, of course. ”
” Let me have a look. ”
I deepened my hand into my bag, taking out the brown envelope. ” Here, ” I handed it over to him.
He took it from me, staring at the photos one after the other.
He has a crescent-of-moon eyebrows. His rom-n nose and half-time cheekbones above his oaken jaw.
His nomad-blue eyes twinkled as he flipped the pages of the photos.
His derring personality and bass voice were a big part of his ambitious character.
It was written all over him, boldly and obvious that it cannot be hidden.

Chapter 5:
He adjusted his glasses, staring back at me. ” Did she tell you how many cars? ”
” Yes, she did. ” I nodded my head. ” She wants twenty. ”
” Twenty, ” he repeated, tapping his first finger on his desk. ” Okay. Any other thing else? ”
” No, I don’t think so. ” I shook.
” Would you mind if I show you around, Miss Agent? ” He asked me.
” Sure, of course. ” He smiled, those pink l-ips spouted in a sed-ctive smirk.
We went out of his office and down to the manufacturing site. ” I never thought it would be as people always says. ” I started.
He looked at me, ” What does people say about this place? ”
” It’s actually the best in the world. ” I replied, not looking at him.
I notice him chuckle, ” Is it? ” He asked me directly.
I looked at him. ” Yes, it is. ”
” Is it possible to get a car more faster than a wolf? ” I asked.
He hesitated to reply, but after nodded his head. ” Guess that’s exactly what Mrs Johnson wants, right? ”
I nodded. ” When should we expect the cars? ” I asked, now we were facing each other.
” It will take a little time for it will be more advanced than any other. You just have to come over to check it out, maybe every two days. Except you’re not busy with work, it’s up with you. ”
” No, actually I don’t work, I serve in the org-nization. Well, I’ll see what I can do about it. ” I brought out my card, giving it to him. ” Here’s my number, text me when you’re done. ”
He took it from me. After staring at it, he shoved it into his br-ast pocket. ” Thanks for coming over, Miss Agent. ”
” A pleasure, Mr…. ”
” Hale… Loreen Hale. ”
” A pleasure, Mr Hale. ” We had a brief handshake before I left for the car.
I never knew I had been holding my breath until I sighed heavily. The ride back to the camp was a little faster.
Right now, I just need a damn good rest.
We got to the camp, Mrs Johnson was already waiting at the front of her office.
The big smile didn’t fade away until I got to where she stood. ” You’re back. ” Her voice sounded calm. ” You look tired, how did it go? ”
” It went well as we’ve expected. He suggests I should come over every two days to check the progress of the cars. ”
” That’s good. ” She nodded. ” You look tired, I bet you need some rest. ”
” Of course I do, Mrs. ”
” Go have your shower and take a nap, practice will start by 6pm. ”
” Okay. ” I went straight to my room, I didn’t have the strength to walk into the bathroom. Rather, I threw myself on my bed, zooming off to sleep.

” I can’t believe you had to sleep with your clothes on. ” Lina said as soon as I woke up. ” That dress is expensive for Christ sake, Ashley and not some kind of cheap nightgown. ”
” Honestly, Stacy I was really stressed out. I don’t know if it’s because of the shoes. ” I sat up, rubbing my eyes.
” The shoes has nothing to do with you being stressed out, and besides, you took like ages to get back. ”
” Did I? ”
” Yes, and you forgot to text me like we promised. Tell me, was he too handsome to make you forget so easily? ” She asked trying to sound serious.
I chuckled. ” No. The company was to gorgeous that I didn’t realize that I’ve got a cellphone. ”
” Oh, I see. I’ve prepared your water, you better go get a shower and take those clothes off. Now. ”
” I will, ma’am. ” I teased, rushing into the bathroom. I buried myself in the cold water, leaving only my hair out.
I m-ssage the muscles of my legs, they were burning like hell.
I can’t believe I had to walk on those without falling, guess I wasn’t so doomed as I thought.
It was lunch period, and we all went to the cafeteria to eat. The food wasn’t that appetizing today so I had someone else eat my food.
” You don’t want to eat? ” She asked me.
” I’m not hungry. ”
” Did you eat something outside? ”
” No, the food is that tantalizing today. I just lost the appetite to eat anything, that’s all. ”
Jesse said something in her language, and Lina frowned as she responded.
I wish I know what they are actually saying right now, and it all sounds like I was listening to a type writer.
” What are you guys talking about? ” I asked, looking confused.
” She thinks we’re talking about her. ” She rolled her eyes.
” And what did you say? ”
” She should mind her business. ”
” Don’t you think you were rude? She might still think we truly were talking about her. ”
” Don’t worry, Jesse isn’t the easily annoyed type. She’ll probably get over with it, trust me. ”
” Miss Agent, ” Emma called, ” you’ve got a phone call from your father. ”
I looked at Lina for a while before leaving. I went to the mobile station, ” Hi dad. ” I greeted.
” Hello, sweetheart, how you doing over there? ”
” I’m cool, made new friends. What about you and mom? ” I asked back.
” We’re good too. I heard you’re doing great with your practice, keep it up. Your mother and I are very proud of you. ”
” Thank you. ”
” So, how is the training going? ”
” Really great, but there’s no much difference from our family training book. The only difference is that, there’s much equipment here. ”
” It’s not a wa-ist, Chicago has much population of wolves than San Diego. You can get to know how skillful you are over there than here. ”
” Have you guys capture any werewolf yet? ”
” Yeah, just two. We caught one two days ago and the other last night. We’re still holding them captive for now. ”
” What will you do to them? ”
” Maybe we’ll just have to handle them like the others. You know, kill them. ”
” Can’t imagine how it feels going out for a real hunt. ” I rubbed my eyes.
” It’s just three days in the camp, you can’t expect a real hunt so soon. You might have trained before now but the others haven’t. Everyone has to be in the same boat before you think about a real hunt. ”
He’s right… To most people, this is their first time to the hunting field. Guess I have to wait a little longer for this.
