Theresa’s POV
I kept tossing and tossing on my bed, trying to at least catch a sleep but I just could not.
Tomorrow is gonna be a very great day and I just couldn’t wait for the very great day to come ~ by.
August 18, My birthday. My seventeen birthday.
It’s not because of how big the birthday party would be but because of the special birthday present, Dad and Mom has promised to get me.
It’s a Doll, Oh my Godness! I couldn’t just wait to have another doll; Although I have 12 beautiful, handsome and pretty dolls already, is it even twelve or thirteen?
I’m sixteen, I mean almost seventeen, I’ll be seventeen tomorrow. I got addicted to dolls and teddy bears when I was little and now, I almost cannot do without them.
I stopped tossing on my bed for a while as I grabbed three dolls from nearby and placed them to rest on my chest.
“You all are gonna have a new friend tomorrow” I whispered to them as if they could hear me.
Unexpectedly I yawn;
“Seems like, Sleep is finally here” I said, staring at my ceiling blearily and before I knew it, I doze off.

The Next Day:
“Happy Birthday! ” They chorused.
I opened my eyes slowly to see them; My Dad, My Mom and My naughty little brother, Joseph.
“Today is my birthday ” I exclaimed excitedly.
Finally the day has come.
“Yes baby, Happy Birthday to you” My Mom said and I jumped into her hands; I embraced her, Next – My Dad and Joseph who stubbornly refused to come into my arms but I did hugged him too by force.
Dad bursted into a birthday song, Mom joined and they clapped and sang melodiously.
When they were done; I asked them immediately.
“So where’s my birthday present? ”
“C’mon darling, all your birthday presents are in our room, We will give them to you when the party’s over” My mom said and I squeaked.
“I didn’t get so many gifts during my last birthday” Joseph complained.
“You did, you weren’t just contented with it” Dad snarled at him while I made a jest of him by bringing out part of my tongue and showing it to him.
“Let’s leave you now to get dressed in one of your favorite new dresses” My Dad said as he and Mom got off my bed then they began to leave my room while Joseph followed them sluggishly.
“Happy Birthday once again Theresa!” My Mom said and I smiled at her.
Then I saw them leave.
“Yeepee! ” I bounced on my bed overwhelmingly.
When I mistakingly stepped on one of my favourite dolls, Charly. Well, I give beautiful names to my favourite dolls.
“Sorry Charly, I was just too excited that you’re gonna get a sister” I picked it up and said to it.
Then I made it sit and lean on my bed, patting it head gently like a baby.
“Sit here, you all should stay here” I gathered all my dolls and arranged them on the bed. ~ As if they were Students in a classroom.
“Perfect” I exclaimed, slamming my hands together.
“It’s finally my birthday” I repeated Jumping and Jubilating
I pulled off my night wears and jumped into the bathroom…
I had a quick bathe, came out of the bathroom with a towel tied around my body.
I searched my wardrobe for a perfect outfit to wear on a very special day like Today, then I found a short royal blue dress, it’s one of the new dresses mom got me recently.
“Oh, this is just too perfect,
Everything is perfect!” I said putting on the dress and admiring myself through the mirror. It took me no minute to dress up and put on a pair white heels.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, a loud one..
It’s rude, why would someone just bang my door? ~ on my day.
I walked to the door and opened it, There I found Rennie and Ronnie.
“Besties! ” I exclaimed.
“Happy Birthday Girlfriend” Rennie said and hugged me very tightly.
“Happy..Birthday dear” Ronnie her twin brother said to me and I beamed; smiling and blushing excessively.
When his twin sisiter, Rennie was done embracing me, he steadily came closer and hugged me too.
Awwn.
“So… Don’t tell me you’re coming out like this, I mean with no jewelries or make ups? ” Rennie said observing my facial look.
“Rennie You and I know that Make ups and Jewelries are not my thing” I responded.
“Shh, A day like this.. They ought to be your favorite things, So shh ” She said with her middle finger on her l-ips as she beckoned me to the chair in front of my mirror.
“Okay Ok” I obeyed without complaining.
“My brother would fall for you as soon I’m done” She whispered into my ears and I blushed secretly.
Well you might be wondering why I’m always blushing when it has do with Ronnie.
Brief Introduction, Rennie and Ronnie are twin, they are my classmate and my best friend…And I’m uncontrollably crushing on Ronnie, I didn’t let him know but his twin sister found out and I made sure she keeps it a secret away from him.
I sat there, staring into the mirror, she’s almost done with transforming me from Theresa Silver to Theresa Diamond.
Silver is my surname.
To me, I think the make over is much and the jewelries makes my ear and neck more heavier but since it’s only for today, I guess I’ll just let it be.
“Do you have another Bed? ” Ronnie suddenly asked me.
I glared at him through the mirror before answering him and wondering why he asked me such question.
“No, Why are you asking me that? ” I asked him.
“Oh well, since you gave this wide bed to your No-sense dolls” He responded.
“Shut a trap! the dolls and I own the bed” I fired at him.
“Whatever” He said and found a spacious part of the bed to sit on.
“Less I forget Guys, I’ll be getting another Doll today as my birthday present” I announced.
“Again?? ” Rennie and Ronnie exclaimed simultaneously.
“Yes, Again Of course” I smiled widely.
“OMG Theresa, you are crazy about these useless things. If I were you, I would demand for more Jewelries, shoes and a change of my wardrobe” Rennie said.
“At the beginning of the statement you just uttered, You said ‘If you were me’. Come on Rennie, Dolls are not useless” I told her.
“You are sixteen Tesa!” Ronnie said.
“No, I’m seventeen now! ” I corrected.
“Oh right but you’ve got to let go of those doll things and act like you’re more than seventeen. Nowadays, A three-years old child would even find Dolls and teddy bears childish” He said.
I rolled my eyes, He’s my crush but even for his sake, I won’t stop loving dolls and I can’t stop having more and more of them.
“Done? ” I asked Rennie whom has stopped painting my face instead, she was staring at me.
“Uh.. Yeah, I’m thinking about re-styling your hair. You look so gorgeous and a new hairstyle worth this new look” She said as she reached for the comb and hairbands then began to style my hair.
She’s a fashionista in her own way, she’s good at things like this, when it comes to dressing, facial look… She loves it.
In no time, she was done with my hair and she exclaimed out and clapped her hands.
“Mag… nificent”
Is this mirror deceiving me? I look like an angel in it.
“Whao! ” Even Ronnie complimented , he walked forward to where I was, Just to see my new gorgeous look.
“Mmmn…Thanks” I stammered.
“Theresa! ” I heard my Dad’s voice calling my name from Outside my room.
“The celebrant would be out soon” I heard Mom’s voice too. I guess she’s already announcing to the Invitees and it’s time for me to come out of the room.
Oh My Goodness, Everyone is already waiting for me.
“You’re done and I’m good to go now right? ” I asked Rennie and she nodded gently.
“So… ”
“Let’s go” I said to them.
I can do this, face the crowd, meet people…
I took a brief sigh as I opened my room door and walked out of my room with Rennie and Ronnie coming behind me.
I ain’t really interested in the Birthday party but The Birthday Present my parents has in store for me.
