🌹Chapter Nineteen 🌹

~A feeling to run from…~

“We are in Italy?” She asked surprised but that did nothing to cover up the anger in her voice.

rom-no quickly hung up the call and turned over to look at her. She was boiling in fury, her face were red, her eyes were teary and her nose were flaring in anger as well. Yeah, she has every right to be mad at him, he should have asked her for her permission before bringing her over here but how could he possibly ask for her permission when she was at the verge of dying and besides she was his. His property. His possession. His slave. She was his.

“Yes.” He said nonchalantly, looking right into her eyes without feeling any need to be nervous or so. Why should he even be nervous? He has never felt anything like that all his life and he won’t start now all because of a girl.

She walked over to the balcony and look around, her fist were clenched tightly by her side.

“No.” She whispered. “No.” She said again before turning back to him. “How… you have no f-cking right to bring me here without asking me first! That’s a violation to my right.” She said angrily, glaring at him.

“You were at the verge of dying and bringing you here was the only chance of you surviving. And how could I possibly ask for your permission when you couldn’t even open your eyes all through the trip?”

“There are hospitals in Australia. In fact they are far times better than the ones here.” She said.

rom-no takes no offence to that and that’s because he wasn’t a doctor. “But that doesn’t guarantee anything. Bringing you here was the only option to safety.” He explained, calmly.

Why was he even answering her so calmly like this?

“New York is also an option!” She yelled, hissing in pain in the process.

“You are wounded.” rom-no said calmly.

“F-ck that!” She yelled angrily. “How can you bring a girl to a country she knows nothing about without her permission? huh? Who the f-ck do you think you are to do that?”

“It was for your safety. Those men who attacked that night will surely come for you if I leave you there.” He said, trying his possible best to retain his anger. Lashing out at her was the last option here.

“Oh, really. Now you care?” She scoffed. “I thought your greatest desire is to see me in pain and in tears so why are you acting like you care?”

“Because I do care!” He yelled out, making Victoria flinched a little. He let out a deep breath, running his fingers through his hair in frustration.

Victoria stayed quiet for a while, staring at him with the look of confusion and wonder. She never expected that reply from him.

Does he really care?

Does he really meant what he just said?

Or was it his only way of trapping her in here against her will?

What if he truly cares? She can’t deny the fact that he has been watching over her since they got here. She can’t deny his sudden change of attitude towards her.

He has even her a reason not to doubt him but that changes nothing he had done to her in the past.

Besides he had personally told her not to get use to his niceness.

“Simply because I took a bullet that was meant for you doesn’t mean I trust you or anything. You are still a monster and a bad luck to me.” With that, she turned around and walked out.

As soon as Victoria walked into the room, she slammed and locked the door. She leaned against the door and slide down to the floor and started crying.

Why exactly she was crying was a mystery to her but she still felt the need to cry and pour out all of her anger and frustration.

*You still think of me as a monster, don’t you?* His words rung in her head.

*You are still a monster and a bad luck to me.* Her own words rung in her head.

Why did she say that to him?

He only did what he did for her sake. The least she could do is to be grateful. Victoria continued crying until she fell asleep.

rom-no took a long drag of a cigarette then puffed it out in the air.

He deserves it.

He caused her so much pain and havoc.

He made her hate him. He never cared but now…it seems like I do care.

She always called him a monster when they first meant, it never triggered him or made him angry because he was very use to the word but it was different this time around.

*Simply because I took a bullet that was meant for you doesn’t mean I trust you or anything. You are still a monster and a bad luck to me.*

Her words echoed in his head. rom-no took another long drag of the cigarette, he exhaled it before taking a gulp from the bottle of whiskey.

The whiskey burned his throat, it was nothing compared to the Fire burning in,side of it. It was nothing compared to her words.

Why does he even care? Besides she was nothing but a common slave to him so why exactly does her words have this much effect on him? Why was he thinking so hærd about it?

Is it because he hasn’t had s€× for quite a while now?

Speaking about s€×…why did he turn her down when she had willing given herself to him?

When did he start to care about her? When did he even start to care about someone!?

This was crazy. He was crazy. And he has no one to blame but her!

She was the cause of all this. She was the cause of this confusion and frustration.

He hates feeling this way. He hates being confuse.

rom-no took the last gulp of the whiskey, stood up to his feet, his snatched his car keys and phone then walked out of the house.

Victoria yawned loudly, fluttering her eyes open, the sun radiating from the window was so blinding that she had to squint her eyes a little.

She got up to her feet, winning in a pain a little.

She must have slept for hours because it was morning now.

She walked out of the room and went downstairs in search of the one person that live with her.

She has made up her mind to apologize to him for her words last night and to plead him to take her back home.

She just hope he listens.

The living room was empty to her greatest surprise. Victoria look around but still couldn’t find him. Good news, she found his phone.

She walked closer to it and picked it up from the table, she swiped it and it unlock. She never expected someone like rom-no to not have a password on his phone due to his kind of work. Well, thank goodness he doesn’t have.

She quickly dialled her junior sister’s number, Maisy.

It rung for a while but was finally answered in the last ring.

“Maisy!” She called out, happily.

“Sister Victoria?” Maisy questioned just to be sure she heard the voice correctly.

“Yes, it’s me. How are you doing?”

“Oh my God, Sister Victoria. Is that really you! It’s been forever since we last heard from you. I’m doing fine but not really fine after what happened. Is he maltreating you? Are you okay over there? You should have let me go instead of you. Now I feel so guilty about what…”

“That’s enough, Maisy. You don’t have to feel bad about anything. What I’m passing through has absolutely nothing to do with you. And there’s no way I will let you come here.”

“He’s maltreating you, isn’t he?”

She sighed, gulping down the tears that were already building up. “I’m fine.” she answered.

“I’m sorry.” Her sister was already crying. She could tell from how her voice came out.

“Stop apologizing, Maisy. None of this has nothing to do with you. I chose to be here. I chose this life.”

“And that’s because of me! Because I know for a fact that you are given an option you wouldn’t want to be there.”

Maisy was right. She will trade everything just to leave this f-cking place. But that was how she felt when she newly came here. Because right now? The feelings is different.

“I’m fine.” She repeated again. “How about mother?” She asked, changing the topic.

“I can’t say whether or not she’s fine. She has been working her ass off to get the money to pay up so you will leave that place even me, I’m doing my possible best to gather up money.” Maisy replied.

Victoria let out another deep breath, pinching the bridge of her nose. Her family were suffering and it was all her fault.

She didn’t even know when a tear streamed down to her face.

“I’m fine.” She repeated again. She can’t even count the amount of times she said those words.

Was she truly fine?

Was she happy?

She wasn’t two weeks ago. But then again, what can she say about now?

They both talked for a while before hanging up the call.

Victoria was about to drop the phone when a thought came into mind, she picked up the phone again and dialled the one number she have always wanted to dial.

The call was picked after a while.

“Babe?” She called out.

“Victoria?” His husky voice came out from the other line.

God, how much she misses that voice. How much she misses him.

“It’s me.” She confirmed.

“Oh my God, babe. Finally. How are you? I’ve missed you so much. Where did you get the phone to call me? Wait, why didn’t you tell me about what happened?” He asked all at once.

This shows how much he misses her and how excited he was to hear her voice.

“I’m sorry, babe. I should have told you but I thought I could handle it alone but turns out I was wrong. How are you?” She asked.

“Well, I was saved by a good Samaritan that night. But I was mostly worried about you, love. I tried calling the police but I knew better than doing so, I didn’t want him to harm you or anything and i don’t know what he will do to you if I call the police so I decided to talk to your parents. They told me everything. You should have asked me for the money you know that right?”

“You had a lot of things going on with you. I don’t want to add my own problems to yours.” She explained.

She heard him sigh from the other line. “Your problems is my problem, Victoria.” He said.

“I’m sorry.”

“Stop apologizing.” He said. “I took a leave for you from work, hope you don’t mind.”

“Not at all. Thanks.” She smiled.

“I’m also working very hærd to gather up the money….”

“You don’t _”

“Don’t.” He cuts her off. “Don’t even try talking me out from gathering up the money because trust me nothing is going to stop me.”

Victoria started feeling guilty. Here she was enjoying being in the arms of another man while her boyfriend was working his ass off just to gather up the money to pay for her father’s debt and free her.

What kind of girlfriend was she?

“I’m sorry.” She apologized again.

“I told you to stop apologizing, Victoria. I’m doing this for you. For our love. I love you so much.”

“I love you too.” She said.

She needs to take down whatever feelings she was having for that monster. Besides, he was her master and she was his slave. He needs his money while she needs her freedom and the only thing binding them together was the contract and nothing else.

“Who are you talking to?” His voice came out from behind. “Who are you talking to, Victoria?” He never uses her name to address her unless whatever he was going to say is serious. But that wasn’t the problem…the venom in his voice was the problem.

Now that signifies trouble.
