Chapter Twenty Eight: ROOM OF NIGHTMARE 1
Betty blink her eyes twice before pushing Jones back and standing on her feet, looking at Verdun his face remain emotionless and am left scared, who knows what he is thinking, I watch a frown gradually creep into his face and the next thing I know is that his hand has engage itself with Jones face.
Jones didn’t fall, he just step back ” what was that for?? You have no idea how to treat a lady so why are you bothered about Betty ” Jones growl, he move so fast that Verdun couldn’t detect it, I watch how he punch Verdun right back but unlike him Verdun didn’t even step back, only his face move a little.
” Betty ” his gaze meet mine ” come with me ” he called me Betty which only mean he is angry.
” don’t listen to him Betty, I am the right one for you, choose me and I swear you won’t regret it ever in your life ” Jones mumble and am left in a difficult situation, no. This shouldn’t be difficult, go to whom you love.
Jones is a vampire, they are not to be trusted, they killed and destroyed my clan, they are horrible people but then its not Jones fault, is not his fault that he is a vampire, he said he love me.
Mama has always told me from little that go with a man who loves you more than you love him.
Does that mean I should go with Jones??? Is he right for me??
My gaze travel back to meet a distant Verdun, I know they is more to him, things he keep hiding, things he doesn’t want anyone to know, he keeps his feelings hidden well but why, how am I suppose to know he feels for me how I feel for him?
” am sorry ” shaking my head I turn around and leave the two men alone in the garden, what was I suppose to do, curse them for putting me in such dilemma?? Run into one of their arms??
Yes I do know I have to stick with one but the one I want isn’t even sure if he want me but one thing I was sure that I notice in Verdun was that he was calming himself, calming himself from fighting.
Entering the hall I stare at Veronica painting, the one Verdun said steals souls, she wink at me and I smile but what happened next shocked me ” you’re Verdun mate ” she speak and I couldn’t help but to step back ” don’t be scared dear, I don’t bite”
” I should go ”
” no don’t, have been really bored ” she yawn ” been awhile I talk ”
” alpha Verdun said you can’t talk ”
” he doesn’t approve when I talk to people but then he doesn’t need to know that ” she wink and I chuckle ” will you like to know a little secret??”
Staring at her for awhile I know she is about say something that will ruin today but then my curiosity got the best of me” yes ”
” do you you have any idea why upstairs are off limit??” Shaking my head she purred ” Verdun keeps my kind there, beautiful jewelry and necklace you like. His precious secret are in there. The hall of secret ”
” hall of secret “repeating her words she nod calmly ” what do that mean ”
” if you wish to learn more about Verdun, learn what keeps him awake at night, learn what deprive him from sleep??” Veronica whispers ” go upstairs, the door with the black paint not the red, red is dangerous ”
” I heard its forbidden ”
” no body will know ”
” is it safe??” Asking she nod, before I could say more she already turn to a normal painting, my gaze move to the stairs leading to the hall of secret as she said
No body will know.
Nodding at myself I look around before climbing the stairs only to find myself in another hall, not a single painting on the wall instead the wall is painted white with touch of red.
The hall is huge but only two doors, black and red door, standing still I stare at the door, Veronica said I should go into the black door not the red but what’s in the red??
Shaking my head I move to the black door, for some reason I am scared and cold ” you just need to open the door ” mumbling to myself I nod before pushing the door open.
Watching Betty run away Verdun gaze travel back to meet a smirking Jones ” why are you still in my mansion Jones ” asking him I place all my attention on him, he just shrug then smile.
” I was getting bored at my place but when I came here and saw the last dream walker, damn I felt alive and it got more interesting because she is your mate” Jones mumble ” people will be terrified you have a new mate, especially Dawson ”
” Dawson has nothing to do with my life nor the women who are destined to be mine and I will appreciate it if you stay away” frowning I move closer ” last time we fought, none of us win but don’t expect the second time to favour you Jones…if you don’t stay away from Betty I will kill you ”
” oh my, am scared ”
Laughing I look at him ” you should be Jones, I can smell you, you still smell the way you did, nothing has changed but after that fight a lot of things has changed with me, things you could never bear ” a smile form in my lips ” am warning you Jones….you don’t want to see what I can do ”
” you should have said all these to Lucifer not me ”
” since you’re her beloved brother why didn’t you??” Rising my brows I shake my head ” you are complicated and stupid just like your sister “not waiting for his response I walk back to the mansion, looking for Betty to make things clear.
” alpha” hearing Veronica voice I turn and glare at her ” you see, I know where your precious mate is ”
” where?? ”
” she is upstairs, the hall of secret ” I blink and watch how she is smiling ” I told her to go there because that is the only way she can be able to know more away you ”
” you did what!!” Growling I didn’t wait for her response before running upstairs, the moment I enter the hall my eyes only caught a glimpse of her hair before the door shut it self.
That’s the wrong room, that’s the room of nightmare, am not a fool to give easy access to a room fill with my secret and now am wondering why I keep such room in a home fill with people.
She wasn’t suppose to be in here ” Betty” rushing to the door I push it open only to meet what I didn’t expect.

Verdun remain still, his gaze didn’t bulge from Betty, I expected her to be yelling, crying or screaming on the floor but instead she is standing, her legs isn’t touching the ground, her eyes has turn white ” amor ” the moment I touch her hands I had to step back immediately, it felt like fire, its hot ” what’s happening to you amor??”
I need to get her out from this room, exhaling I hold her hand and this time I refuse to let go even when I feel like am burning up with fire, lots of fire.
Forcing her feet to touch the floor took three minutes and the moment it did, she fall into my arms, her eyes closed, body warm but still unconscious. Shaking my head I lift her up in my arms and straight to my room.
Edward and Nolan already waiting ” call Madeline for me, a witch is needed right now ” growling Nolan nod before running out of the mansion.
” what happened to her??” Edward ask, his eyes fill with worry ” she look lifeless and so pale did she??” Nodding my head I run my hands all over my face ” what do we do now alpha??”
” I have no fucking idea, why the hell will she go upstairs, upstairs is off limits, that place isn’t for someone as innocent as her ”
” which did she enter alpha ”

” that only means??”
” yes” the room of nightmare is known for its different ways of capturing souls, capturing weak souls to be precise, a soul that has no energy to fight lose itself to its nightmare ” I still need Madeline to check her, maybe they is another way to bring her back ”
” maybe if you don’t have that room in your mansion she won’t be in this condition ” hearing Jones voice I turn around and luckily caught the punch he is sending my way, his eyes fill with hatred ” you detect my movement now ” he groan when I squeeze his hands.
” I told you Jones, a lot of things have happened to me, things you can’t bear. Fighting with you in the same room amor is, will not be a bad idea” pushing him back I inhale ” grow up ”
Before Jones could say more Madeline rush into the room, she didn’t spare us any glance, her focus went straight to Betty ” the last dream walker” watching Madeline smile I frown ” I thought they were all killed” Madeline move close to Betty, touching her forehead Madeline eyes turn white while she recite a spell, she then step back ” she can’t stay with you even if she is your mate”
” what!!” Growling Madeline furrow her brows ” alpha she is a dream walker, dream walkers and lycans can’t stay together for a long time, with wolfs around her she gets weak, normally for a dream walker to get out of a nightmare illusion should be easy but then the amethyst and lycans all around her has drain her down, she needs space ”
” you mean I can’t get close to her anymore??”
” yes” she tuck her hair behind her ear ” right now she is having a nightmare but before she can be able to wake up, she has to be elsewhere so she is coming with me ”
” no!” I groan causing everyone to give me a confuse look ” amor can’t go far away from me, I can’t bear that shit ”
” is just for awhile Verdun ” Madeline mutter ” before she come back you can get married to your lovely Stella and finish what you started…Nolan help me lift her up will ya ” watching her vanish with Betty I remain still, I can’t think straight.
” no need for me to be here then ” Jones chuckle then fast speed out of my room, sitting on my bed I run my hands through my hair, it feels like my heart is no longer beating, I do know why dream walkers can’t stay where lycans are for a long time but I never thought of Betty leaving me.
All we ever did is argue, fight and ignore each other, I haven’t really spent enough time with her ” alpha its just for a short period of time” Edward grunt ” during this time we can put our plans about Stella in motion, the physician ask for your presence ”
” she is awake??”
” yes alpha and have been asking to see you ” Edward mumble ” I guess staying there is starting to bore her out and with Dawson visiting you soon, you need what you can take from her sooner than later ”
” I know that Edward, Dont lecture me on everything block head ” shooting him a glare he lift his hands up ” amor being away will make things easier for me, do me a favour, tell Madeline to keep her there forever ”
” what??”
” yes, I have had enough with mates and she shouldn’t die if not in the next thousand of years another ridiculous mate will show up ” giving Edward one last glance I mumble ” mates are always great men weakness, I don’t need one ever and now that she is gone, the bond is less active”
” she isn’t with her necklace ”
” that’s her problem not mine ” I stand to my feet then move to the physician ward with one thought in my head, once again I have lost another mate.
It shouldn’t be something new, I have felt it before, its better this way, love is too hard for me, it doesn’t walk out for me so why should I concern myself about such things, Betty will be better off away from lycans and I am one.
She is better off without me.

” how are you Stella” walking in I stare at her smiling face, she jump off the bed then yawn ” I think am okay now v, am sick of staying here”
” hmm”
” and my dad came” furrowing my brows she nod ” I know, without your permission is wrong but he was worried and wanted to know when we are getting married ” Stella move close to me, her face fill with worry ” I told him, we are getting married in three days time but we can change…..” Giving her a quick kiss on the lips she shut up while I fake a smile.
” is okay Stella, I came here to tell you the same thing” caressing her cheek I watch how lively she look ” let’s make it in two days time Stella, I want you has my wife soon and then you can remove that blue lens from her eyes so that your true colour and power will be shown ”
” but dad said people in the other clan are going to come after me if that happen” bending my head to her level I kiss her gently ” v??” She moan
” I will take care of you because by that time I will be your husband and you would trust me right??” She nod ” you make me so happy Stella, come let me take you to my room ”
