‘Pang pang pang pang pang!’ The stupid alarm clock rang loudly, bothering my beautiful sleep. I slapped the clock away and tossed on the bed. My beautiful dream is ruined! I might sleep a lot but I easily wake up and that is because of dad. Eventually, it has been two good years since I ran away, life is good no doubt about that. I contacted mom a year or so ago but kept our contact once in a month.
Living here, I secretly bought a restaurant, a cafe and a bookshop. Ursula don’t know they belong to me because to her, I’m a girl struggling to survive just like her. I find it difficult to keep a normal job because taking orders from people and actually obeying is f-cking difficult. She was already suspecting my means of getting money so I opted to start job searching again; part time though.
‘Alas! She’s still in bed.’ Ursula said.
‘Alas! It’s Monday!’ I exclaimed unenthusiastically. She chuckled and leaned on the door with crossed legs
‘If you don’t get your ass off that bed, we’ll be late for classes, again.’ Yeah yeah, Ursula forced me to enroll in another school with her, not that I needed it. When I was busy getting expelled from schools, I secretly ran an online course for architecture and civil engineering; nailed it!
The good news is that I haven’t broken any student head yet or nail a lecturer to the cross, all thanks to Ursula; my ice. We are both good influence on each other, very good. I taught her how to be more bold and outspoken, more classy if I must say. She taught me how to be calm and not always use my fist instead of words.
‘Can I go tomorrow?’ I whined.
‘Do you wanna die?’ She asked with a knowing smirk, nice of her to threaten me with the thing I love most; food. I sat up and huffed. ‘Good girl, now dress up and be down for breakfast and ready for school.’
‘Waou,’ I said unenthusiastically. She giggled and walked out. With my help, her scanty bald head had a little hair on it, her backbone curly hair was pretty enough. She even dyed it blonde and jade because she thinks my rainbow dye is cool. I stood up and stretched to my full length, I hate Mondays.
I walked out of my room to the bathroom I share with her, my hand scratching my itchy hair through the shower cap…when last did I wash this? Oh, I sprayed rice water on it. I walked into the bathroom and stared at my beautiful reflection, still s€×y and got the looks. My hair kept growing back because of the treatment I was taking so I stopped cutting it, back to leg length it went. I stretched to the cupboard above the bathroom sink and picked out a scissors and hair conditioner.
‘Hey! Ursula! t-rn on the music box!!!’ I shouted, removing my shower cap. A loud morning is always nice for a Monday morning, you should try it sometimes. I dropped the scissors, picked up my toothbrush and paste to brush my teeth first. I spread the paste halfway on the brush after washing it up, rinsed my mouth and shove it into my mouth.
β™ͺ come on
I wanna dance in the dark
Come on
We gonna light up the night… β™ͺ the music played, I nodded to the song.
β™ͺ I wanna rock hΓ¦rd
In the middle of the night….β™ͺ I brushed my teeth, swaying my hΒ‘ps happily. After brushing, I took the scissors and gave my hair a trim….well, I cut it from the length which was almost mid th-gh to below my butt. Ursula always flares anytime I cut it so I don’t cut it much.
I did my biz quick and walked out of the bathroom, changed into a navy blue and dark orange stripe sweater dress with brown boots. I braided my hair and rolled it into a bun, sprayed perfume on it and powdered my face a little. I walked out with my bag, don’t need no makeup to look stunning, I was born stunning. Ursula was already eating as she tapped on her phone, I gladly sat down and joined her; we eat together. I eat much but she barely eat more than what a five years old would.
‘So, who are you chatting with?’
‘Len, he’s asking me out to frat,’
‘Wow, what will you say?’
‘F-ck him,’
‘I thought you like him and he likes you?’
‘I liked him,’ she said with hate. ‘Not until I saw him banging a bitch in his car at Helen’s party last week, he’s a dog.’
I smirked, she’s getting smarter. ‘But you know, he really likes you.’
‘And so?’
‘You should break his heart, he needs a lesson.’
‘I’m not like you Vee, I don’t break hearts.’
‘You should learn,’ I muffled, waving my blue fork. ‘Guys need to be taught serious lessons. If you had listened, Patrick, Owen, Mark and Luscious wouldn’t have walked into your life and crushed your heart like that. Men are evil babe, that is why – mm, this egg taste so good – I will never let a guy find the key to my heart.’
‘Love can get you unexpectedly Vee don’t be so confident.’
‘Are you gonna break his heart or not?’
‘Not,’
‘Your loss.’
‘Get a boyfriend,’ she huffed. I chuckled and continued eating, she kept tapping away on her phone as she ate slowly. I finished eating, drank my coffee as listened to the playing music. Time for school!

I whimpered as I struggled with the rope tying my hands together, the car was moving and the three men watching me were playing card. We have been moving from one place to another in vehicles, boats, helicopters and buses. The men were trying very hΓ¦rd to make it difficult for dad to find me, I don’t even know where I was. Up until now, I was blindfolded and given little food, they don’t care if I’m just a seven years old girl.
‘Will you stop whimpering,’ the taller one snapped. I hissed at him, so ugly.
‘Will you get your mouth washed, it smells more bad than my kitty’s poop.’
‘Brat,’
‘Tell that to your mother idiot. I’m sure she even abandoned you because of your ugliness and bad luck, a child born to be a robber….’
‘Why you insolent….’ He made to slap me. I dodged his slap and caught his hand with my sharp teeth, sank it into his hΓ¦rd bones. He scre-med out in pain, struggling to get free. ‘Help!’
‘Let go bitch!’ The remaining two yelled, hitting my back and head but I refused to let go. I snapped my jaw away, ripping his little finger along. He scre-med along with them, shock overriding their faces. I spat his finger off and vomited his hideous blood, the other one slapped me very hΓ¦rd. I fell on the metallic truck floor and coughed, I wasn’t going to cry.
‘Park the truck!’ The last one shouted. They parked the truck and stepped out to examine the damage. ‘I can’t believe this little bitch did this, what happened?’
‘She’s just like her father, useless….’ I successfully untied the bind. ‘I’m going to kill her!’
‘Boss wants her in shape, remember?’
‘F-ck that!’
‘I know what will really break her, let’s show her how big a real man’s d*ck is.’ I don’t know who suggested that but I certainly didn’t like it. I crawled over to the driver’s seat, good thing they left the key. Dad taught me how to drive, fortunately. I started the truck.
‘Who’s starting the….oh no!’ I drove off immediately.
‘Stop her! Get in the other car!’
‘Crap!’ I yelled, hitting the steering wheel. I couldn’t call, dad had a mole in there, that was how his enemy found out he had a daughter safely hidden in India. I sighed and stepped on the gas, they were catching up. I searched for a gun in the compartment, dad usually kept three there all time in his own car. I found one, I checked the gun, one bullet. ‘Perfect, I risked it and quickly pointed the gun out of the window. I fired the bullet, the force made me hit the steering wheel but I still hit my shot; I never miss. ‘HeeHaw!’ I exclaimed laughingly and took over the wheel again. I shot the engine, the car was gonna explode.
I drove faster, the car exploded. Now, to get to town, find a place to stay for a while and figure out how to reach dad without the mole finding out. This ought to be interesting.
😍😈 Ted 😈😍
I turned my desk over in frustration, my baby girl is missing, my only sunshine. I still don’t know how Rico found out about her, I can swear on my life that no one except Carlos (my right hand man) knew about her existence. If anything should happen to her, I’ll die. I can give my life for her, she’s all I have left of my sister. I felt my eyes stinging from tears I was holding. I had lost everything, everyone I cared about and she was all I had left; I can’t lose her.
‘Boss,’ Carlos called softly. I looked over my shoulder, his sad face gave me the answer. ‘I’m sorry.’
‘How, how did he find out! How! Carlos, you know how much my sister meant to me, what I went through when she died. If it wasn’t for Yolanda, I would have gone psycho…..’
‘I know, please don’t be like this again.’
‘Did you tell anyone that I have a daughter?’
‘You know I will never tell anyone about Yolanda, she’s like a sister to me even though we don’t get along. She’s way too precious to me and you know that.’ True, Carlos have been there for me through thick and thin, we were there for each other ever since we started this path since childhood. We didn’t have a choice though, my father was the king of all mobsters, believe it or not, he ruled them all and Carlos’s father was his right hand man.
It was naturally my duty to become the heir after he was killed, I don’t care much because I love what I do. However, what I do doesn’t work with care or emotions, I learnt that the hΓ¦rd way when my father killed my mother for snitching, I watched her die the cruelest way a woman should die. Since then, my sister was my only love, the only one I cared about before she died after giving birth to Yolanda; poisoned. I can’t stop myself from caring about that little black hearted angel, she’s the only thing almost good I care about.
‘What do we do now?’
‘I say you be patient, Yolanda is a very clever girl, she will find a way to get back.’
‘And if she don’t?’ I whimpered. On the other hand, she ought to have be free by now, what is taking her so long?
‘If she’s still under captivity, then there are three possibilities. They are being very watchful of her, she’s finding it difficult to contact us or….’
‘There’s a mole amongst us and she knows who that mole is,’ I completed for him. ‘She’s going to find a way, the secret symbol. Set the satellite to pick up any of the frequent or symbol if in sight and we better start watching the movement of everyone in the main house.’ He nodded and walked out.
When I get that mole, I’ll kill him or her. For now, be safe Yolanda, I pray you do.

How do you avoid idiots? Some ladies just need serious help, pushing themselves on men like they are the only good thing life can give them. Presently, I was at my cafΓ© staring at a woman yell at Ursula for sleeping with her husband, a man who won’t let her be. She don’t do old men, the woman is a fool because they aren’t married.
‘And I’m warning you to stay away from my husband!!! The next time we meet for this same issue I will warn you with a bullet!!!’
‘Can you keep your pathetic mouth shut,’ I snapped. ‘Look at you, disgracing yourself over a man that haven’t even given you a ring. You say she’s sleeping with your husband, who chased who? Did she chase him by herself or isn’t it your useless man who won’t leave her alone. I now get why he wants someone fresher,’ I eyed her with distaste. ‘You are ugly and lack sophistication.’
‘How dare you!’ She yelled and raised her hand to slap me. I used the cigarette in my hand to burn her, not that I was smoking it, just like lighting a stick and letting it burn. She scre-med and jumped back, she held her palm and cried.
‘Don’t touch me, I don’t like filth.’
‘You are going to pay! Pay!’ She yelled furiously.
‘Instead of attacking me, did you bother to find out if I even have interest in your man,’ Ursula said softly, remember she can’t shout. ‘I am just a kid, what is my business with a fat old pig? Please don’t bother me and go settle your shit with him and not me.’
‘We’ll see,’ she stomped away. I chuckled and looked at Ursula.
‘She’s going to attack us,’ she said with fear. ‘What do we do?’
‘Don’t worry, I’ll handle her.’ I smiled, waving at a friend of mine. I pointed to the woman stomping away and winked at him, he smiled and nodded. I befriended all the bad guys I got in contact with, they all love me.
‘Let’s go back home please, today was hΓ¦rd.’
‘Agreed,’ I smiled again. We walked out of the market to my car, not fancy and old model BMW but suit my hiding life. We got into the car, I started the engine but as I was about to drive, someone tapped on my window. I looked at the person, it was a little gurl wearing a hood. She clasped her hands together pleadingly and motioned to the backseat. Something about her eyes made me smile, beautiful little pair of baby blues.
‘Who’s she?’
‘I don’t know,’ I said opening the backseat for her
‘Are you just gonna let her in just like that?’ She asked with displease. The girl entered the car and shut the door. I drove off immediately. ‘Who are you?’
‘My name is Barbie,’ she sobbed. ‘I’m an orphan.’
‘And so?’
‘I ran away,’ I looked at her through the rare view mirror. ‘They were maltreating me, starving me….’ She pulled her hood down, her face was bruised badly.
‘Oh, you’re seven?’
‘Yes, can you please take care of me? At least until I find my dad….er….his brother who lives here.’
‘You are not from here?’ I asked glancing back at her.
‘No, I’m from India.’
‘Alright, we will watch you until then.’
‘Viona! We don’t know her!’ Ursula shouted.
I shrugged. ‘I follow my instinct and my instinct says help her, I will fond her bills if that’s what you are bothered about.’
‘Thank you,’ she cried.
‘Whatever,’ Ursula scoffed. ‘I’m Ursula by the way.’
‘Viona, but you can call me Vee, nice to meet you Barbie.’ I smiled at her, she’s cute.
.
To be continued.
Remember, Yolanda and Ted are new characters, part of the story. Yolanda is Ted’s niece who he takes as a daughter and she lied to Cookie and Ursula that her name is Barbie.
And, Cookie is the same person as Viona, she changed her identity, remember?
Thanks for reading and please, do like and share to show if you are really enjoying this story and of course, what do you think about Yolanda?
