Lucy’s Pov:
We walked restlessly up and down.
Oh lord….
I just hope they are both going to be fine!
Actually, we rushed our friend Cassie to the hospital while the people in the mall took the slum girl.
“Oh Lucy…. Am so scared right now! I just hope Cassandra and Gracie would be fine” Joann said
“Gracie? Don’t tell me you girls are worried about that thing?” Kiara sneered
“Come on Kiara! Joann is right…. I don’t want to get my hands stained with blood” I said in anxiety
“But we didn’t push Gracie… Did we?” Kiara said
“We didn’t yes but how are we going to explain to the public…my dad is a senator Kiara, I wouldn’t want to soil his image” Joann blurted out.
Kiara breathed heavily.
“You’re right!” Kiara said
“Have you called aunt Charlotte?” Joann asked me
“Yes! She will be here anytime soon” I said as we continued waiting in anxiety.
Mrs Martha Monte’s Pov:
I walked out of the kitchen with a tuber of yam.
Good heavens!
Where could that good for nothing girl be?
“Gracie! Gracie!!” I yelled on top of my voice.
Yet no one answered.
Did that crazy girl leave the house?
“Arrrghh….. She’s really trying my patience, I told her to sell the fishes in the bowl” I said in annoyance.
I heard some noises outside the house and stepped out.
Just then, I saw Naomi the neighbors daughter.
“Tch… Naomi….Hey! Come” I called as she walked to me.
“Yes ma’am!” She said politely
“What’s going on outside there?” I asked anxiously
She stared at me in surprise…..
“I was about to sympathize with you ma’am” She said as I rolled my eyes in confusion.
“Sympathize with me? And why is that?” I asked
“You don’t know?” She said
“Oh shut up Naomi and go straight to the point…. I won’t be asking if I knew” I said irritated
“Well it’s the Salvador’s daughter and Gra….” She said
“What? The Salvador’s daughter? What happened to her?” I asked anxiously
“Uhm… It’s her and your daughter Gracie… I had they fell from the staircase and was bleeding profusely so they were rushed to Central hospital” She said as I flinched in shock.
Oh my gosh…..
The Salvador’s daughter was among?
I quickly rushed into the house.
I have to go to the central hospital.
I quickly dressed up and rushed out of the house.
Off I went to the hospital.
Charlotte’s Pov:
Tears welled down my chubby cheeks as I drove along.
My poor baby…..
What could have been the cause of all this?
I sniffed hærd trying to control myself as I dialed the number.
“Oh pick up already!” I hit the car steering wheel.
Luckily, the call was picked up.
📲Hello baby….. I cried out
📲Love? Why are you crying?….. Sam asked anxiously
📲Baby it’s our daughter…. Please come back already! She is at the hospital… I cried
📲Hospital? What for?…. He asked
📲She got into an accident baby… I think it’s critical…. I wept.
📲OK love! I’ll take the next available flight…. He said as I hung up.
I burst into tears again as I drove into the hospital.
I got down from the car and rushed into the ward.
Suddenly, I bumped into someone.
It was a lady.
“Oh am sorry…” We chorused
Just then, the doctor walked up to us.
“Who amongst you is the mother of Cassandra Salvador?” The doctor asked
“I am…..”
“I am…..”
The both of us said again as I shot her a glare.
“Uhmm… Doctor what I meant was that am Gracie Montes mother” She said as I smiled at her.
“So we are here for same case” I said as we shared a laugh.
“Am Mrs Charlotte Salvador by the way” I said as I brought out my hand to shake her.
“Am Mrs Martha Montes” She said as we shook hands.
“Please follow me ladies” The doctor said as we hurriedly ran after him.

Fear gripped me as we sat on the chair at the doctor’s office.
“Doctor please how is the girls?” We asked
The doctor breathed heavily before forcing a faint smile.
“Uhm… Well you see ladies, the girls lost a wh0le lot of blood” The doctor said and paused
“So?” Mrs Martha asked
“So they really need blood transfusion for each for them to increase their chances of survival” The doctor said.

Luckily…..
Our husband’s arrived on time.
They were going to be the direct donors for the girls.
But according to the doctor, they had to run some tests on them first.
I just want my baby to be alright. This story is written by Pinky Preshy Chioma.
Martha’s Pov:
My heart skipped a beat as I bit my fingers in anxiety.
“What are you talking about Martha? Don’t you want that stupid daughter of yours to survive?” Fred said
“Fred! Let’s just buy a pint of blood from the blood bank” I said
“And why? When I can donate my blood? Woman just be sensible” He said and walked away.
I scratched my head in confusion and my heart kept racing.
Shortly after the tests we were summoned in the doctor’s office.
I sat with my husband Fred as my heart kept jumping.
The doctor cleared his throat and took off his glasses.
My anxiety grew the more.
“Doctor please don’t keep us waiting… The children’s lives are at stake” Mr Sam Salvador said
“Now please don’t offended but I just want to know… Is there a miss up somewhere?” The doctor said
“Mix up? How?” Charlotte asked
“Alright… It’s complicating! Who is the real fathers of the kids?” The doctor said as we exchanged glances at each other.
“What do you mean doctor?” We chorused
“The thing is Mr Sam Salvador…. Cassandra Salvador’s blood doesn’t match yours, it matched with Mr Fred’s and Mr Fred Gracie Monte’s blood doesn’t match yours, it matched with Mr Sam’s” The doctor said.
We glanced at each other again.
“WHAT?” We scre-med almost the same time…..

Charlotte’s Pov:
We stared at each other in confusion.
Then the husbands stared at the wives…..
“Doctor are you sure of what you’re saying?” I asked anxiously
“Did you mistake their result as ours?” Mr Fred said
“It’s 100% accurate sir” The doctor said.
We stared at each other again.
“So what does this mean doctor?” Sam asked
“Medically Mr Sam, the result simply says that Cassandra Salvador is not your real daughter and that Gracie Monte’s is your real daughter” The doctor said.
I scoffed in disbelief.
“What are you insinuating doctor? Cassandra is my real daughter” I cried out.
“I don’t get a thing right now” Mr Fred asked
“The truth is that the girls are SWITCHED” The doctor said as our jaws dropped.
Mrs Martha kept mute the wh0le time and I wondered why.

I walked into the ward with tears streaming down my face.
Cassandra was already awake.
Thoughts kept running through my mind.
If Cassandra is not my daughter and Gracie is… Then how?
I quickly wiped off my tears and walked towards Cassandra.
“Mommy!” Cassandra said forcing a smile at me.
I sniffed as I cleared my throat.
“Uhmm… Baby how are you feeling now?” I asked trying hærd to control myself.
“Mommy are you OK?” She asked me
I nodded my head and patted her hair.
“Am fine sweetie just get well soon OK?” I said
“of course mom” She said still looking at me surprisingly.
“And don’t forget that whatever happens, you will remain my daughter” I said as she shook her head.
Gracie’s Pov:
Mother walked into my ward with father.
They were rather too quiet and calm.
They stared at me and stared at each other in astonishment.
As usual, they cared less about me so they didn’t talk to me.
They only walked away still looking disturbed.
I became confused….
Just then, I heard a shrieking scre-m from outside.
It was my best friend Mona and Jake.
They stormed into my ward.
Smiles escaped my l-ips as I saw them.
“Gracie……!!!” They scre-med and hugged me tightly.
“I really missed you so much” I said in excitement.
“Am back to school now Gracie” Jake said as I smiled.
“You know what Gracie? There are lots of gists for you” Mona said
“Really?” I asked in happiness.
“Oh dearest Gracie! I miss you so much” Jake said
“Uhmm… Jake have you gone to see Cassie? She’s here too” I said
Jake bowed his head.
“I haven’t and I’ve got no plans of doing that” He said
I only kept mute.
That was when I remembered my bead bangle.
Kiara’s Pov:
I handed a glass of milk to my friend Cassandra.
She’s getting a lot better and we were very happy.
“Uhmm… Girl have your boyfriend visited?” Lucy asked
Cassandra quickly frowned her face.
“He hasn’t but I got a get well soon card from his mom aunt Veronica” Cassandra said
“Hmm… But I saw him at the hospital garage this morning” I said
“I knew it! He must have gone to visit Gracie” Joann said
“That girl doesn’t know when to stop huh?” Cassandra gro-ned in anger.
“Oh calm down friend! You shouldn’t get yourself worked up for that stupid slum girl…. I think am famished… I’ll go get some food from the cafeteria” I said
“Just get some yoghurt and cookies for me too” Lucy said as I left the room.
I was heading to the cafeteria when I heard some whispering.
I walked closer to the door and eavesdropped.
Mr Sam’s Pov:
We sat down in absolute tranquility.
One could hear the sound of a pin…..
I cleared my throat and spoke up.
“Well since we still don’t have the full explanation on how our daughters were switched and they were born in the same hospital on the same day as well, I just brought the mid wife” I said.
Mrs Martha gasped in shock to everyone’s surprise as the midwife walked in.
“Now please clear our mind… How did my daughter Gracie get into the hands of the Monte’s” Charlotte said
The mid wife stared at Mrs Martha hærd.
“Speak now” Mr Fred ordered.
“She knows everything” the midwife said pointing at Mrs Martha.
“Mrs Martha?” Charlotte scre-med
Mrs Martha quickly went on her knees as she burst into tears…..
