I took Leo’s hand in mine as we stood up.

We slowly tiptoed downstairs.

We stood in the middle of the sitting room but saw no one.

“sorry ” we heard behind us and we squealed and turned around.

“Brian ” I breathed out in relief.

“thought you were already asleep ” Leo said.

“just laid on my bed but I’ve gat some works to do and I just came to rake the left overs of the Italian food ” he said.

I shook my head and went up to my room.

I laid on my bed and heaved a sigh of relief.

Gosh! I though someone traced us.

We’ve gat to be really careful and alert.

I closed my eyes and slept off.

“hey “I heard faintly as I felt a hand hitting my cheek gently.

“hey get up ” I heard again and slowly opened my eyes.

My eyes met with Leo’s and I sprung to my butt.

“what is it ” I asked.

“it’s 6:30 and you have to be with the Buenevistas at 7:00” he said.

“I’m still the Tatiana I was, not a morning person ” I muttered and got outta bed.

Leo walked out and I went to tidy up.

After I’d tidied up, I dressed up in all white suit and did my make up.

I checked my time and it was 6:50.

10 mins to get there.

I rushed down stairs then to my car.

“I ordered u breakfast ” I heard Leo say behind me.

“I’ll grab a coffee on my way “I said and drove off.

I arrived at the Buenevistas at 6:58 and smiled.

They smiled broadly when they saw me.

I got down and greeted them all.

We all got in their car and headed to the company where the meeting will be held.

We arrived mins later and alighted.

We walked into the company and went to the board room.

We took our seat and waited for the meeting to commence.

It commenced and everyone started bidding for the company.

The company is quite big and if they win, they’d go to a next level but I don’t want that, I want them to go down to square zero.

I watched as the bidding went on.

There were lots of business men and women also bidding for the same company.

The Buenevistas and I already agreed on the amount I’d pay and that $1.5 million.

They’d fill it up with their own money.

In return, the Delacruz would hold 30% of the company and they’d pay the remaining money to our account.

But if they don’t win which they won’t, they’d return out money with more interest cause it wasn’t our fault they lose.

The bidding already started but Leo was still not here.

I’m not troubled cause I trust him and he wouldn’t let me down.

The bidding finished and the Buenevistas were the highest in the bidding.

They smiled in victory and I was already worried that we lost it.

“sorry, you guys aren’t the highest bidder ” the founder of the company said.

They glanced at one another and I was surprised too.

“then who? Everyone witnessed we were the highest bidder ” Rinaldo said.

The Buenevistas who came for the contract were Mr George, Beatrice and Rinaldo.

“there was an online bidder and his was the highest ” the founder said.

“name ” Mr George demanded and I was eager to know the person too.

“Sean Donovan “the founder replied.

I took a deep breath to calm myself.

We lost it.

I can’t bid on it cause I’m on the Buenevistas side.

“how much did he bid “Mr George asked.

“$3 million but yours was $2 million ” the founder said.

“them we continue the bid” Mr George said.

“excuse Lanna and I ” Mr George said and signaled for me to follow him out.

I followed him out.

“Lanna I know we already agreed on the amount you’d give but can we change budget and give us more money ” he asked.

“I’m sorry Mr George but we don’t go beyond our budget ” I remarked.

“we’ll pay it all back with interest ” he said but I wasn’t getting any of it.

I’m so pissed at Leo right now that he let us down and we lost the company.

“OK instead of 30%, you’d hold 40%” he said and I smiled inwardly.

Though we weren’t able to get the company, we’d hold 40% of it and thud still pay with interest.

“sure, how much money do you need now ” I asked.

“you are giving us $1.5 million before so let’s change it to 2.5” he said.

“that’s a lot of money, what if you guys loose” I asked.

“we won’t, we always win and more so, we’ve got u on our side ” he assured and I smiled inwardly.

They think they’re using me to get what they want.

I agreed to pay the 2.5 and we walked in.

Rinaldo and Beatrice glanced at him but they said nothing.

They continued the bid between the Buenevistas and Sean Donovan.

After hours of bidding, the Buenevistas couldn’t afford the money William Donovan put to it so they backed out.

I smiled inwardly cause they didn’t get the company anyway.

I didn’t get it and neither did they.

All the same, business is business so they’ll pay back my money with interest.

That’s one of the rules of business anyway.

We drove back to their mansion and I smirked as Mr George angrily stormed into the mansion.

I walked in with them and sat on a couch as Mr George tried to calm himself.

“Lanna, we’d appreciate it if you give us more time to pay back the money with interest ” Beatrice said.

I noticed Rinaldo’s awkward stares again and I sighed.

“you should know that our money is strictly for business not for people who have no right on it to keep it in their possession ” I remarked and they looked away in shame.

“but I’ll give you guys sometime cause today’s loss was very high” I said with a smile.

“nice doing business with you guys though you lost ” I said and turned to leave.

I tried opening the door but Rinaldo beat me to it.

“lemme help you ” he said with a smile and I nodded.

He opened the door just in time to see Fernando and Myer at the porch.

My heartbeat increased and I got nervous.

He stared me as if he’d seen a goddess.

“shall we ” Rinaldo asked with his hand out for me.

“sure ” I put my hand on his and he walked me out.

I could feel Fernando’s stare at our back.

Rinaldo opened my car door for me and I went in.

“hope to see you again Lanna ” he said and I smiled.

He closed the car door and I drove off after waving him goodbye.

I arrived home, rushed to the kitchen and devoured anything eatable I saw.

After eating, I came to the sitting room and plumped down on the couch.

“we lost it ” I told Brian and Johanna who were waiting for me to speak up.

“that’s a great loss ” Brian said and I nodded.

“where’s Leo ” I asked, really pissed at him.

If he couldn’t do it then why didn’t he tell me?

I’d have planned something else or used someone else.

“he went out after you did ” Johanna said.

“I think he went to meet Sasha ” Brian blurted out and I got more pissed.

He went to see a bitch at a very important time.

“I’ll go freshen up so we can head out to search for the lost Buenevista” I said and went up to my room.

I tidied up and cane downstairs.

Each one of us took a pic of the little Buenevista.

She had black hair with big eyes.

She’s so cute.

“looking at this 3-4 year old girl, can you guess how she’d look like at 19-20” I asked.

“don’t think so ” Johanna said.

“someone must have helped her and took her in ” Brian said.

We headed out and boarded my car.

The drive to the town took us hours and we all heaved a sigh of relief when we got to the town.

“OK we’ll go separate ways and meet here in an hour ” I said and they nodded.

Johanna took left, Brian took right and I took straight ahead.

I walked around, showing people the pic of the little girl but none claimed to know her.

I sighted a woman buying some stuffs and I went to her.

“excuse me ma’am, do you know this girl ” I asked and she took the picture from me.

She stared at it for a while then looked up at me.

“I don’t know her ” she said bluntly and turned to leave.

“ma’am your change ” the seller said but she didn’t even turned.

She hurried out.

OK why’s she so nervous and why did she leave in a hurry without her change?

There’s something fishy about her.

She was buying her things fine but when I showed her the picture, she got nervous and hurried out.

I have to follow her.

I ran after he and saw he rushing away.

I slowed my moved and quietly followed her.

I’d hide anytime she looked back.

Why does she look so scared?

I followed her till she got to a bungalow.

She looked everywhere and made sure no one was watching her and she went in.

I have to call Brian and Johanna.

I brought my phone from my jean pocket and dialed Brian’s number first.

I placed the phone on my ear but someone snatched it from me.

I turned and almost vomited my heart when I saw the person that I’d snatched my phone.
