“what are you doing ” I heard and froze on my s₱0t.

I stylishly close the camera in my hand and turned.

I smiled at Beatrice like nothing happened.

“Beatrice ” I called with a smile.

“Lanna, what are you doing here? I don’t remember inviting you ” she said and just then Rinaldo walked up to us.

“of course you don’t but Rinaldo invited me here “I lied and Beatrice looked to Rinaldo.

“ye… Yes ” he nodded like an idiot.

I smiled at Beatrice and she smiled back.

“OK then, have fun ” she said and walked away.

“why did you lie ” Rinaldo asked and I rolled my eyes.

“oh common, don’t act like you aren’t happy to see me ” I said.

“of course I’m happy to see you ” he said as he followed me down the corridor.

“good! Mind showing me around ” I asked.

“I don’t mind ” he said.

“let’s start with the rooms ” I said and he nodded.

“this is my room ” he showed me and I went in.

It was wide just like Fernando’s and very beautiful.

I stylishly walked around the room, pretending to be admiring it but I was looking for a better place to plant the camera.

My eyes wandered everywhere and stopped at the door to the bathroom, it had black line just beside the door and the camera is black so it’ll be hærd to know something’s there.

I walked to it and ran my hand down it then stuck the camera on it.

“your room is a beauty ” I complimented and he smiled.

We walked out and reached Fernando’s room.

“that’s Fernando’s room ” he pointed to it.

I tried going in but he stopped me.

“common, I just wanna see how beautiful it is ” I said and dragged him with me.

“Lanna ” Melanie exclaimed and I put on a faux smile.

She hugged me and I did too.

“Rinaldo was just showing me around ” I said and she nodded.

“our room is the biggest and finest ” she boasted and I giggled.

“Yeah I see ” I said and walked around, eye searching for a place to stick the camera.

Luckily for me, there was a vase of flower on the glass table.

“wow! You even have flowers here ” I said and she nodded.

I walked to it and stylishly stuck the camera in the middle then acted like I was admiring it.

“show me somewhere else ” I told Rinaldo and he nodded like a fool.

“but Lanna you… ” I heard Melanie saying but ignored her and walked out.

“this is mom’s room ” Rinaldo said and opened the door.

I gasped dramatically even though it wasn’t as beautiful as mine.

“this is paradise ” I lied and ran in like I’d seen heaven.

I stuck the camera beside her black drawer and ran my hand down it like I was feeling it.

“it’s beautiful ” I complimented.

“wait till you see Debbie and Sasha’s room ” he said and I acted like I was surprised.

“who are they ” I asked.

“my crazy sisters” he replied and I chuckled.

“oh! So you’ve got two sisters ” I said and his facial expression saddened.

“what is it ” I asked with concern.

Fake one to be precise.

“I had another sister but she’s gone ” he said and I breathed out an “oh”.

I wanted to ask more about the “gone sister ” but he didn’t want to talk about it.

He showed me Debbie and Sasha’s room and I planted the cameras there too.

It was left with Mr George’s room but Rinaldo declined.

I tried to coax him into showing me his room but he wouldn’t.

I stuck one camera at the beginning of the corridor and the last one at the end.

“I think I’ll take my leave now ” I said as we descended the stairs.

“did you really come to see me “he asked and I nodded.

“yeah” I replied.

He smiled and surprised me by k-ssing my forehead.

“thanks ” he said and I smiled.

He walked me out and opened my car door for me.

I waved him goodbye and drove home.

I think I’ll relieve Johanna of her part and play it myself cause Rinaldo is like a fool in my hands.

I arrived home and met everyone seated on the couch.

As usual, there’s something off with Leo.

I’m gonna ask him.

“did you succeed ” Brian asked and I nodded.

“couldn’t plant in Mr George’s room ” I said.

“I’ll connect to them right away ” he said and got his laptop.

“Leo ” I called and he looked up to me.

“can we talk ” I asked and he rolled his eyes at me.

OK he’s never done that to me before.

We walked to the balcony and I took in a deep breath.

“what’s wrong Leo? What’s up with you ” I asked lowly and he looked away.

“is something bothering you ” I asked but he said nothing.

Gosh! I hate it when I’m being given the silent treatment.

“will you talk” I yelled and his head snapped to me.

“you’re asking if something is wrong? Of course! Everything is wrong, everything ” he said sternly.

“it’s been years since Lanna died but it seems like she died yesterday, the heartache, everything is till there ” he said.

“I wake up every morning and see my Lanna’s face but get hurt when I know she isn’t the one behind that face. You know what? I’d accepted you as Lanna but it’s now crystal clear to me that you can never be Lanna and I hate you ” he blurted out and my heart sank.

“I wanted to like you for you but I can’t cause my love for Lanna is still there and you irritate me ” he yelled.

“not only you, Sasha irritates me, Johanna irritates me, every woman irritates me ” he yelled .

“I hate you all so much that I find it hærd to tolerate your presence” he yelled in tears.

“you’re making me sed-ce Sasha and I hate every bit of it cause I don’t wanna be close to any woman ” he seethed.

“I despise all of you ” he said and walked out.

I sighted Johanna and Brian at the door with shocked expressions.

“do you think the death of Lanna is turning him into a monster ” Johanna asked but I ignored her.

“I don’t think he’ll ever fall in love again ” Brian said.

I was lost in my own thoughts.

I haven’t seen Leo upset like this.

He hates women, despises them and they irritate him.

That was why he always act weird anytime I told him to go meet Sasha.

That was why he doesn’t sit next to Johanna and talk to her.

He was trying to like me cause I had Lanna’s face, he was trying to tolerate me but couldn’t.

“what do we do now ” Brian asked.

“let’s go work on Faye’s case first ” I said and walked out.

We got in the car and Brian drove off to the town.

I walked them to the bungalow and we hid at a corner.

“how do we get her to come out ” Johanna asked.

“you ” I said and her mouth fell open.

“no way!” she remarked.

“we’ve got two problems in our hands now so you better get your butt there so we can solve this one out ” I said.

“just go there and knock on the door like a normal girl, say you’re Faye’s new friend ” I said and she straightened up.

She walked to the door and knocked on it.

Luckily for us, Faye opened the door.

“good day, I’m looking for Faye, I’m her new friend ” I heard Johanna say and I mentally slapped myself.

I came out of my hide and signaled for Faye to come out.

She saw me and came out.

I took her hand and pulled her to a corner.

“is you again ” she said.

“yes it’s me ” I smiled.

I wanted to ask her straight about her identity and blah blah blah but I was afraid she wouldn’t say.

“my friends and I are new to this town so we wanted you to show us the market ” I lied.

“sure! I was bored here anyway ” she said and I chuckled.

She locked her door and came to us.

“let’s go ” she said and we followed.

Johanna and Brian were at the front while we were at the back.

“so your real name is Faye ” I asked.

“I don’t think so” she said.

“why ” I asked.

Thank God she’s a blabber beak.

“well my parents aren’t my real parents, they told me they found me by the river shore” she blurted out before she could realise.

She closed her mouth with her hand and chuckled.

“do you perhaps know your real parents ” I asked and she nodded no.

“well I know ” I said and she stopped on her track.

“you mean you know my parents ” she asked unbelievably and I nodded.

“Brian ” I called and signalled him to bring Faye’s pic when she was young.

“here ” I gave Faye the pic.

“it’s you ” I said.

“I also have pictures of this little girl in our house and mom said its me ” she said.

“who are they ” she asked.

“here is my card and address, call me or come to this address when you’re ready to know the truth about you “I handed her my card and we left.

I smiled at Brian and Johanna as we boarded the car.

Problem 2 half solved.
