๐ŸŒน Chapter Thirteen: a new kind of affection ๐ŸŒน

๐ŸŒน Rosita’s standpoint ๐ŸŒน

I stopped the car at the massive gate. I knew Zedekiah’s father bought his mother a house, but I didn’t know the house was this huge. Almost as huge as the one he lives in. The man is nice.

“State your name,” a voice demanded from the intercom.

“Rosita Fiero,” I replied. I had to change my hair colour to it natural rosegold beauty and eyes too. I removed my glasses and kept them in the compartment of the car. Only Zed must know I go to Gempire.

“Oh, ma’am, welcome. Ms. Grimshaw have been waiting for you,” I rolled my eyes.

“Is the young master in?”

Please say no.

Please say no.

Please say no.

“Yes, Master Zedekiah is at home,” oh great. I waited for them to open the gate before driving in. Zed’s mother was at the porch pacing around as she waited for me. Zedekiah sat at the stairs before the porch, his phone in his hands as he watched his mother with a bored expression.

Immediately she noticed my car, she squealed and clapped. I parked the car quickly and jumped out before she stand at the door and squeeze me in a hug. I got out just in time for her to hug me but not too tight.

“Rosita, I’ve missed you so much,” she cooed. I patted her back.

“Missed you too.” She pulled away from me, took my hand and then pulled me to Zed.

“Zed, look, your wife is here to pay us a visit,” she said excitedly.

“Whoo, joy,” he said sarcastically. She frowned and glared at him.

“What did you say? Zed, don’t be mean to her,” she scolded. Zed faked a smile and looked at me.

“Welcome to my home, witch,”

“Back at ya, d*ck,” Zelda rolled her eyes. Oh, did I forget to mention her name is Zelda? Zed’s parents named him from their names. His father’s name is Hezekiah and his mother, Zelda. So that’s the history of Zedekiah.

“You two, no fighting,” she scolded. Zedekiah rolled his eyes and climbed up the stairs. Zelda pulled me along. She leaned closer to me and whispered, “check out his ass, as big as his father’s, huh?” My cheeks heat up. I tried my best not to look at what she was whispering about. When she saw that I was avoiding it, she grabbed my head and forced me to look.

Wow, it is big.

I gro-ned. “Zed, get out of the way, your mom is making me look at your ass now,” Zed made a squeaky sound and rushed in,side through the open front door. Zelda started laughing.

“Prude,” she grinned at me, “but you’ve got to admit, his behind is worth looking at, right?” She wiggled her brows. I couldn’t help but giggle because she was actually right. “You know, the first thing that attracted me to his father was the butt. Have I ever told you how I met his father?”

“No,”

“I haven’t?” She asked with disbelief, “how dare me. I’ll tell you now.”

“I really don’t wanna know,” I sighed.

“It was on a Tuesday,” she began, “I was sitting at a hotel cafeteria reading a book while drinking my iced matcha latte and eating bagels. Then he walked in with his bodyguard… Welcome to my home,” she cut in as we finally made our way into the house. I held myself from wowing at first, before I remembered she would snap if I don’t wow. So I wowed and stared at it like I hadn’t seen anything that cool before.

The place was cool and white, seriously white and shiny. The combination of rollback, chesterfield and divan sofas were all white. The electronics, the chandeliers, the window frames, doorframes… Everything was white. It was the kind of white that would make you bump into things if you don’t look at it well. I didn’t need anyone to tell me who chose the colour of the interior. Zedekiah was just like his father in that area; white freaks.

Zelda led me down and continued talking. “So, as I was saying. The first thing I looked at was his behind and I was like, ‘wow, that is one big booty’,” I laughed at the tone she used. “I mind my business after that but my mind kept singing ‘booty booty’. So, when he eventually came to sit with me and talk, I listened because I wanted to know who the big booty man was. Hezekiah is a sweetheart, really. But girl gotta act tough, so I pretended he didn’t exist so I won’t have to give him my number…”

“No,” I gasped dramatically, like I was interested. We lowered ourselves to one of the Divan sofas. “So, what happened next?”

“Isamu-senpai, please bring my guest and I something to…” A middle aged man walked in with a tray. Zelda smiled at him. “Senpai, you are always so thoughtful,” the middle age man smiled back at her, almost flirtatiously. I looked between them awkwardly. The man seem to have noticed I was staring because he quickly stood up, adjusted his face and quickly walked away.

“That is my butler, been working for me for quite some time now, five months.”

“I see,” I leaned on the small rest and looked at her. “As you were?”

“Oh, yes, the story. After I blankly rejected him, I left. The next day, he came again and tried to talk to me but I refused to listen and it was like that for a week before your father came. Have I ever told you your father is hot?” I rolled my eyes.

“Three third of the population of women scattered allover this planet thinks so,”

“Yeah, because it’s true.” She winked at me. I faked a gag and dramatically slapped my forehead while she laughed.

“Okay, okay, so your father came and pulled his charms on me and yes, I fell for it. I was so smitten by his eyes, and smile and…” She sighed dreamily.

“Oh God! Mom, can you not talk about how you are in love with her father? It’s uncomfortable,” Zed cried. I didn’t even know he was sitting there.

“It’s part of the story!” She shouted defensively. “Your father is very manipulative. He smitten me and then manipulated me to think Hezekiah did it. I don’t even know how he convinced me but before I know it, I’m talking to him and going on dates. By the time it was our eighth date, I ended up liking him for real and I went to his house. It was on a cold…”

“Please, don’t tell us!” Zed and I shouted simultaneously.

“It was on a COLD night,” she growled at us. “He complained of a terrible headache after I took him to a club and got wasted. I felt bad that…”

“Okay, aren’t you two divorce or something? You sound like you still love him,” I interjected. She gasped with wide eyes.

“Divorce? Me? Is that what he told you?”

“No, you guys separated after that fight…”

“My parents aren’t divorced, Rosita, they only separated for three months then got back together. They don’t live together but they see each other a lot. And most times, I unfortunately have to be there when they start smooching,” Zed said as he glared at his mother.

“Then what was…” I looked at her. She quickly looked away with guilt. I looked back at Zedekiah.

“I’m going to get a cup of cold water,” I announce.

“But there’s water in front of you,” Zelda said lowly. I glared at her before standing up.

“You know what, I best be going home, I have better things to do.” I didn’t wait for them to speak, I stood up and stormed out of the house. I was angry, really angry. Hezzy was the most loyal man I’d ever met, the sweetest and kindest. I could vouch for his fidelity.

Hezekiah was the kind of man who was shy around women and respected their decision and feeling. He would never cheat or do anything to hurt the woman he loves. He was better than my father and even Terry’s father, the sweetest amongst the friends. I knew he wouldn’t cheat because my coconut head father always tried to get him to cheat but he would always say, “I love Zelda, with all my heart and soul. If I cheat on her, wouldn’t that go against everything I stand for? Everything love stands for? I can’t hurt the woman I love, so I won’t be cheating on her”.

How would anyone cheat on a man like that? How could anyone? Zedekiah was also like that, just like his father and that was one thing I respected about him. Even I knew my father would have cheated on my mother if they were together. How could she do that to him? With her butler!

“Rosita! Just wait up!” I heard her shout. I whirl around to face her. Zelda had tears in her eyes. “It’s not what you think…”

“Don’t you dare lie to me because we both know it is what I think it is,” I whispered yelled. “How could you even think about cheating on Uncle Hezzy? How? He loves you, he would never cheat even when my stupid father keeps throwing women at him. How could you do such a thing? To him? To Zedekiah!!!”

“Rosita, please, calm down,” she whispered, glancing behind her shoulder to make sure Zed didn’t follow us. “I have never thought of that, really, honey, no. I haven’t seen Hezekiah for months now and I was lonely. Isamu just came as a comfort and…”

“One thing led to another and you k-ssed, you told him it was a mistake but he fed you with lies that your husband is cheating on you too. Told you a wh0le lot of nonsense and you slowly let it get into your head. So now you are both at the simple stage; flirting, k-sses, blowjobs, oral sโ‚ฌร— but not yet the main deal. Whether you have done it or not, it is still the same thing…”

“He haven’t seen my extreme sโ‚ฌร— yet, I swear,” she sobbed. “Rosita, please, don’t tell Hezekiah, I beg you. I know how close you two are…”

“Then you know that what I just found out hurt. Do you know what it would do to Zedekiah if he finds out? He would feel betrayed and sick, feel like every woman is sick and cruel and none deserve to be cared for. You will turn your son into a monster, turn him to someone that would break the hearts of women because his mother cheated on his father who loved her with all of his heart. Zelda, I don’t care how you fix this, I don’t care what you will do from now on, but fix it. If you break my Hezzy’s heart and hurt Zedekiah, I will hunt you down and end you.” Her eyes wยกdened with horror, not that she knew what I did for a living, but because I was serious and I did give her my glare.

I turned around, opened my car and jumped in. I looked up and saw Zedekiah at a window, looking down at us and he was crying. I took in a long wheeze of air as he stared at me. He could see me, he knew I was looking at him.

“Thank you,” he mouthed. “This doesn’t mean we are friends, but thank you for stopping her from making the biggest mistake of her life. I hate you, Rosita, but thank you.” I stuck my hand out of the window and gave him my middle finger.

“If you badly want a man, Zelda, go find your husband,” Romi automatically started the car and drove it off. I exhaled and rest my head on the headrest. I shut my eyes.

“I have to say this, that was cool,” she chirped, “you totally melted his heart with what you did back there. Rosita, admit it, you care about him in more ways than you think.” A smile made it way to my l-ips. I hate to admit it, but it’s true, I care about him.

“Because I love his father like my own. As long as I care and love Hezzy, I care about his son as well.”

“Yeah, keep telling yourself that,” I rolled my close eyes.

“Put a call out to Hezekiah,”

“You are going to tell him?”

“Not exactly,” Romi remained silent. A minute later, his voice came on.

“Roe Roe, darling, how are you?”

“I’m fine, Hezzy, just visited your wife,”

“And Zedekiah?” He shrieked.

“Yes,” I rolled my eyes, “and Zedekiah,” he started shrieking. I chuckled. “I however saw something really interesting,”

“You saw Zeddy’s c*ck and realise I was right?” I gro-ned and opened my eyes.

“Oh, I saw a c*ck alright, but not Zed, Zelda’s butler. Have you seen the guy? Hezzy, he’s hot.”

“Wait, how is that my business? I’ve met him once, four months ago…”

“He’s hitting on Zelda,”

“What! Wait, what?!”

“Calm down, you know I will never lie to you. But, Zelda misses you a lot and the guy is also as manipulative as my father. I think he’s starting to succeed. Zelda looked very uncomfortable with him, and that’s a bad sign.” I said evasively. I heard him gulp.

“And you say he’s hot?” He asked with a frightened voice.

“Freaking,” I smirked. He gasped loudly.

“Thomas! Thomas! Get my jet ready! I’m going to Japan!” I heard him shout before the line disconnected. I cracked my knuckles with a smirk.

“Problem solved.” Romi was giggling.

_______________

Mondays, why does it exist? Mom practically dragged me out of bed by my ear and later pushed me out of the house. Gosh, why are moms so moms. I dragged my tired self into school after waving Sakura bye. I spent all night searching for Don Jezreel, it was worth it because I got a lead.

I was still staggering when girls started scre-ming. The next thing I knew, I was pushed and plastered on a locker as the girls tried to get into a good position. His cologne already took over the entire hallway, mixed with Darra’s and Alvin’s. I gro-ned as the scre-ms hit my eardrums hรฆrd. I pushed myself away from the lockers and nudged my way out of the sea of girls.

I was still struggling to get out when I was pushed forward and fell face flat on the floor. I didn’t bother getting up, I was too tired and sleepy, so the floor seemed like a good place to rest. So what I did was curl myself up and shut the sounds out. It felt so good on the cold floor.

“Rosita?”

“Five more minutes,” I murmured sleepily.

“Oneesan, what are you doing on the floor?”

“Mom, just let me sleep for five more minutes,” I whimpered, “I didn’t sleep at all last night, please,”

“I think she stayed up all night having sโ‚ฌร—,” I heard Alvin say, followed by a loud smack and his cry. Then the next thing I knew, someone was lifting me up. I instantly snuggled into his arms and inhale his scent.

Zedekiah.

I would have jumped, but if I was too tired to get up from the floor, what makes him any different? The girls started shrieking something about how rom-ntic or something about love. All I cared about was the warmth of his arms, his intoxicating scent and lovely heartbeat. I fisted his shirt in my hand with a comfortable smile and let myself drift off to a pleasant sleep.

It didn’t last.

I was jolted up from my sleep when my body was thrown on something hรฆrd. I hit my head hรฆrd against something and it made my eardrums echo my heartbeat back to me. The next thing was a splash and cold water surrounding me.

“Onii-san! Why did you do that!” I opened my eyes, I was surrounded by blue water. Zedekiah threw me into the school’s large swimming pool.

“What? She needed a wake up call,” I heard him laugh. I was still too weak to move a muscle so I continue to sink down. It was my head. My head must have bash against the ground before I fell in.

“She’s bleeding! Blood!” I heard someone panic.

Rosita, you are Altansarnai, move!

Without wasting time, I began moving my muscles and kicking against the current until I broke out of the surface of the water. Darra helped pull me out of the water immediately. No one was there except us.

“What the hell!” I shouted, rising to my feet. He didn’t even look affected by what he did. He shrugged. “What did you do that for?!”

“I thought I’d thank you for sending my dad home and ruin my night because I had to watch them talk and cry and reconcile, thanks, Rosita.” He said flatly. I was seeing red, red from anger and embarrassment. I really thought he would grow up after I helped him.

Guess not.

I wanted to break every bone in his body. My body was trembling with rage and breath coming out short. I clenched and unclench my fists, ready to strangle him…

“Rosita!” I sprang up. Meena was sitting there and staring at me with concern. I blinked with shock and looked around, I was in a small room. Pictures of all the Lucky Stars were everywhere, the wh0le place was this shade of purple to the other. I was in their private room.

“How… how did I get here?” I asked perplexedly.

“Zedekiah-kun brought you here and told me to let you sleep,”

“He didn’t throw me into a pool?” I asked with wide eyes. I was dreaming, and he didn’t toss me into a swimming pool. She gave me a weird look.

“I’m sure he isn’t that cruel,” I closed my open mouth still in shock. “What did you do at night? You slept through out the day.”

“I did?” She nodded and then sigh sadly. I watch her quietly as she looked at the lemon iced tea in her hands, sadly sighing every ten seconds. Meena was sad over something and it happened to be my duty as a friend to find out.

God. I need to stop hanging with mom and listening to her lessons on how to be a good person.

“Meena-chan, are you alright?” She hummed me a reply. “Do you want to talk about it?” She shook her head. “You know friends tell each others things, right? Even if we haven’t been friends for long, you can still talk to me.”

“It’s Odin-kun,” she sighed, “he said something to me last week and it’s disturbing me,”

“What is it?”

“He said he loves my br-asts and wants to do more than touching and then said he wants to sleep with me. It hurts.” I folded my legs and shift closer to her.

“Why? You like him?” She nodded. “How long?”

“Since forever, I guess,” she sighed sadly again. “It’s just that I’ve always loved him, always had a thing for him but he never saw me as anything more than a best friend and younger sister. I dated my first boyfriend because I liked the guy and hoped that maybe it would get him jealous and fight for me, but it didn’t. Odin never for once showed any sign of affection for me, at least, not rom-ntic one. Then all of a sudden, the guy I had been pining over finally speaks and the only thing he thinks about is sโ‚ฌร—. It hurts, Rosita-chan, it hurts that all he thinks about is my body…”

“And how do you know that all he thinks about is your body? How do you know what is going on in his head?” I questioned with my head tilt to the side. She looked up at me from her glass with tears in her eyes. “What if just like you, he have been pining over you? What if just like you, he thought you didn’t feel the same way? Meena-chan, what if Odin-sama loves you too? Tell me, how have he been behaving around you? I want you to close your eyes and slowly replay everything in your head, search out every detail, remember every single statement and piece them together. There’s always a clue, Meena, so look for it.”

“What if I don’t find anything?”

“Then you go crazy,” I smiled. “Taking his offer is the first step to making him see you differently. Once you move out of the friend zone, then you can use your knowledge of him to steal his heart completely and make him yours. Meena-chan, this guy you have loved for ages has finally given you a chance to claim him, so do it.”

She burst into tears. “What if it doesn’t work out? What if…”

“He already loves you? What if? That’s just it. You can only fear what will happen but you can never know the result until you actually try. I’ve seen the way he looks at you when he thinks no one is looking, it’s pretty obvious.”

She sniff and wipe her nose with a sheepish smile. “You think so?”

“Meena, I know so. Go for it anyways, and get yourself a boyfriend.” She laughed as more tears rolled down her cheeks.

“Thank you, Rosita-chan, thank you,” I nodded at her. She kept smiling as she began drinking her tea. I went back to thinking. Zedekiah didn’t do anything bad to me? That was surprising. Maybe because I helped him.

Wait, our project!

I jumped to my feet, startling Meena. “Project, gotta run, take care!” I shouted as I ran out of the door. Their lounge was only three doors away. I barge into the room to a very surprising scene. Cedric on a sofa, head thrown back as he mo-ned while a girl gave him a blow. Then, oh then, Alvin was smashing the girl from behind.

They were too lost in their pleasure to notice me, and I was too shock to react. I heard a small chuckle behind me, before a hand pulled the door shut, took mine and pulled me along. I followed him dazedly, mouth still parted from shock. I just kept walking until my body was pushed down gently on a comfortable chair.

“Here,” he handed me a glass of juice, “drink it,” he put the glass in my hand and went to sit opposite me. “Drink up, Rosita,” I dazedly brought the glass to my l-ips and drank a little. I spat the liquid out immediately, ending up in a bout of severe coughing.

Vinegar, Zedekiah gave me vinegar to drink.

“Seriously,” I gasped breathlessly.

“What? You needed something to snap you out of it,” he said with a smirky grin, hands sprawled on the arm of the chair he relaxedly sat on.

“You can’t judge me, I have never walked in on a scene like that before,” I defended blushingly, “I was shocked.”

“Yeah,” he chuckled, “forgot you are still a V-rgin,” my cheeks heat up more and the heat extend to my neck.

“It’s not a crime, is it?” I murmured embarrassedly. He chuckled again.

“No, just makes you different, decent, and proper. Don’t let the compliment get into your head, it doesn’t have any extra acknowledgement.” I rolled my eyes at him.

“Where are we?” I asked, the room was different.

“Jake’s team’s lounge, he said I could borrow it. Just like you, I walked in on them but was smart enough to turn and head out,” he said with a smug smirk, “enjoying the scene knowing fully well that you will never be able to get to that stage except if it’s with me?” I opened my mouth to retort, but couldn’t find any words of arguement. My father had made it clear in his presence countless of times that if I don’t lose my V-rginity to him, then I wait until I’m thirty.

“I’m twenty one, nine more years to go,” I said with a pointed look. He quirked a smug brow.

“Thirty years old V-rgin, huh?”

I huffed with exasperation. “Well, what do you want me to do? Sleep with you! That’ll be…”

“Gross,” he completed with a shudder of revulsion.

Ur, ouch?

“Yes, gross. And I can’t disobey him,”

“It isn’t worth disobedience, Rosita. sโ‚ฌร— is not a do or die.” He shrugged. I frowned. He was being nice to me.

“Okay, why are you being nice to me?” I asked frowningly. He lazily sipped from his flute and shrugged.

“You made my dad come to Japan overnight, saved my parents marriage and did help me take care of Fueki,” I gave him a bored look. He sighed heavily and slouched down in the chair. “I’m just too tired to fight. With everything going on with work, the songs I have to write, the script I have to memorise, the concerts I have to plan, and then Odin and Isaac. I’m too tired to fight, Rosita, and sad.”

“Sad?”

He ran his fingers into his hair, scattering it completely. “I’m worried about both of them, Odin mostly. He didn’t come to school today because he couldn’t get up from his bed after crying himself to sleep. His fear of losing Meena is breaking him and I don’t know what to do. I’ve never seen him this way before and it’s scaring me, it’s making me sad because I don’t know what to do to make him feel better. And then there’s Isaac. He hasn’t eaten for three days now, he’s emaciating and I still don’t know what to do. I’m worried about my friends, I’m worried about…” He whimpered.

Zedekiah showed me a vulnerable side of him, one that showed how much he loved his friends. He showed me how helpless he was, how worried he was. And I couldn’t help the skip in my heart and the shift my entire emotion took.
