Mr Gregory’s Pov:

I walked into the doctor’s office with worry written all over my face.

“Doctor please don’t keep me waiting…. Tell me what’s wrong with my wife?” I asked without breathing at all.

“You have to calm down Minister Gregory” The doctor calmed me down as he took off the stethoscope.

“Calm down? You want me to calm down? How do you expect me to calm down?” I banged my fist on the table.

“Actually Sir your wife is not in a very critical condition” The doctor started.

“What do you mean by she’s not in a very critical condition? Yet she does not speak or even blink her eyes?” I asked anxiously.

“Minister the truth is that she is in a trauma so for the meantime she might not be able to speak or even blink” the doctor replied.

“What??” I widened my eyes in shock.

“Yes Minister…. This is just the truth” The doctor said.

“You mean my wife is going to become like a statue” I almost screamed.

“Am sorry sir but that’s the condition at hand” He managed to speak.

“Is there nothing we can do about this? There has to be something to help” I spoke up.

“Am sorry Minister but nothing can be medically done…. She will be given medicine but that doesn’t mean she will go back to normal so it’s a gradual process” The doctor said.

“Damn…. This is all Aliyah’s fault! Even in her death she is still causing problems” I groaned as I walked out of the office.

I was so confused…

How will I get to live in such a big mansion like alone?

Pearl’s Pov:

Tears circulated in my eyes and poured down gradually.

I looked at aunt Roselyn who was staring at me sitting like a statue.

She was looking at a place,,,, she didn’t even blink or wink her eyes.

She have been like that for the past two hours after she regained consciousness.

My cell phone rang aloud.

“Hello Mom” I spoke into the phone as tears streamed down my face.

“Hello baby! What happened? Why is your voice like that? Are you crying?” Mom asked anxiously.

“Mom it’s aunt Roselyn…. She’s in the hospital and according to the doctor she is suffering from trauma” I cried.

“What? Which hospital is that?” Mom asked anxiously as I told her.

I hung up the call and continued sobbing.

I can’t believe my friend Aliyah is actually dead.

This is so painful.

I really pity aunt Roselyn how is she ever going to cope?

Arthur’s Pov:

Natasha was clinging to my mom who hugged her tightly.

I looked away,,, looking out of the window.

“What kind of a man have you become Arthur? How could you treat your pregnant wife in such a manner?” My dad fired.

I gulped hard as I rolled my eyes.

“Was that what I taught you? How to shout and speak harsh to a pregnant woman?” Mom added.

“Mom and dad please…. You should be cautioning Natasha and not interrogating me” I flared up.

“What have I done wrong? What did I even fo wrong Arthur? I only told them the truth so that they can let you be” She pretended to be so hurt.

I hate that lady.

“The truth? What truth? How did you know that she is dead? Did you kill her?” I screamed at her as she burst into tears.

How pathetic!

“Shut your mouth Arthur” dad yelled at me.

Natasha was still crying.

“I don’t care what you guys think but Natasha here shouldn’t have said what she said to Mrs Roselyn Dela Cruz” I ranted as I walked away.

They tried calling me back but I didn’t even turn around.

I just hate the fact that am existing.

Aliyah’s Pov:

Dora and I walked out of the doctor’s office.

Dora was carrying Baby Arya and actually we have been discharged.

We were walking out of the hospital when a car drove in.

To my greatest surprise,,, it was Mr Leo.

He quickly got down from his car and rushed to us.

“Sir Leo….??” I called out in surprise.

“Hi Aliyah” He smiled at me.

Dora and I exchanged glances.

“What happened sir? Why are you in the hospital? Did something happen?” I asked.

“What do you mean by did something happen? I heard the baby is sick” He exclaimed.

I gasped in shock.

“Who told you sir?” Dora and I chorused…….

Aliyah’s Pov:

Dora and I glanced at Mr Leo in confusion as he shook his head.

“Actually uhmm…I heard your daughter is sick” He stammered as I arched my eye brows.

“You heard my daughter was sick? From whom? I mean no one knows baby Arya is sick except Dora” I sneered.

“And I can’t remember informing anyone else about baby Arya being in the hospital” Dora added.

“Then how did you….” I wanted to speak but he cut me off.

“First I went to your house but I didn’t see you so….” He explained but then my cell phone rang.

So I picked it up as we walked straight to his car and he drove off.

We forgot about everything that happened.

** MONTHS LATER**

I resumed work at the flower shop.

Mr Leo and I became so close and very good friends.

With the help of Mr Leo,,, baby Arya who was almost six months old was enrolled into a day care.

Honestly Mr Leo is really a nice man.

I picked up baby Arya while coming back from the shop.

Mr Leo became my backbone in everything.

But there is only one thing about him that I don’t know.

Which is why he always buys flowers weekly from the flower shop.

“Aliyah? Don’t you think you need a bigger apartment?” Mr Leo asked.

“A bigger apartment you say?” I scoffed.

“Yes…. Somewhere bigger than this place” He repeated as I shook my head.

“That will cost a whole lot of money Leo… Besides it’s only me and baby Arya” I said as I fed baby Arya with the feeding bottle of milk.

“But you need to raise a child in a more condusive environment” He advised.

“I know Leo but I can’t afford it so I won’t force myself to” I concluded.

“If you say so” He shrugged.

I laid baby Arya on the bed cos she already fell asleep.

Arthur’s Pov:

I carried her out of the car as I rushed straight into the hospital.

The stretcher was provided immediately and I placed her on the stretcher.

Actually it’s Natasha….

I think she is in labour.

I followed the nurses and was about to walk into the delivery room but they stopped me.

They restricted me from entering.

So I had to stay out of the room pacing around in anxiety.

My heart was racing and beating so fast.

And I was saying my prayers within myself..

I just hope nothing bad happens to her and the baby..

Few minutes later….

My parents rushed in with her Mom.

They were looking so worried and that increased my anxiety.

We all had to stay out waiting for any nurse or doctor to tell us the current situation.

Mr Gregory’s Pov:

I looked out of the window in sadness.

Ever since I sent my only child Aliyah out of the house and disowned her, my house turned into a cemetery instead of a house.

I turned to look at my wife who was sitting on her wheelchair and staring dumb at me.

For months now she have been in this condition.

She can’t even walk anymore because she can’t stand as well.

She doesn’t even blink… I guess.

Just that once in a while tears usually run down her eyes.

There was no joy in the house.

I might be successful as a politician but there is no joy in my home.

My beautiful chatty wife turned into a dumb and deaf woman…. She’s crippled too.

She can’t feed herself.

She does not eat the normal food you know.

All she takes is cereal food for babies.

What is life when there is no form of happiness?

I deeply regret disowning my daughter.

I wish she could come back to us but it’s too late because she’s dead.

Aliyah’s Pov:

I was taking record of the orders in the shop….. It was almost closing time so Dora helped me with the stuff.

Some minutes later,,, Dora went out to go speak to someone.

I was still busy when Dora rushed in panting heavily.

“What happened Dora? You look terrified” I asked anxiously dropping the record book.

“It’s…. It’s…..” She was panting heavily that she could barely speak and I was getting really scared.

“It’s what?” I asked in anxiety.

“It’s Sir Leo…. Sir Leo” She wailed as I gasped.

Aliyah’s Pov:

My heart was skipping as she panted in front of me calling Leo’s name.

“You are scaring me…. What are you saying Dora?” I cried out.

She pointed out of the door.

“Is Leo out there? What happened?” I couldn’t even breath.

“I don’t know how to say this but you…you have to follow me” She said as she rushed out.

I pushed the table aside and rushed out with her.

She quickly hopped into the available cab and I did too as the cab drove off.

I didn’t even realize when tears started running down my face.

Why is life bring cruel?

Why does life take away every good thing that comes my way?

First it was Arthur….

But he left me…

Now it’s Leo!

Leo is one of the good things that have happened to me recently now what?

I couldn’t stop sobbing.

“Will you stop crying already Aliyah,? Let’s get there first” Dora said.

“I don’t think you understand…. What could have possibly happened to him?” I cried.

“Let’s go first” Dora sniffed.

I was becoming so impatient!

But after the long ride,,, the taxi stopped right in front of a magnificent bungalow.

“What are we doing here? Is this the hospital?” I wiped my tears.

“Just follow me” Dora rushed out of the cab after paying the driver.

I sluggishly followed her as we walked into the bungalow.

Even though the house was so breath taking.

I couldn’t help but worry about Mr Leo.

We got into the big compound and to my greatest surprise,,,, Mr Leo was there smiling broadly at us.

I looked at him confused.

I turned my gaze to Dora and found out she was also smiling.

“What going on here?” I asked as I wiped my tears off.

“What do you think is going on?” Dora laughed.

“I thought you said Leo is in trouble?” I asked with arched eyebrows.

“Well am safe and sound” Mr Leo smiled.

“So why did you drag me out Dora? You almost gave me a heart attack” I freaked out.

“Well my dear Aliyah I told her to being you here” Mr Leo said as I furrowed my eyebrows.

“But why?” I snapped.

“I just want to show you,,,, your new home from now on” Mr Leo pointed at the white painted bungalow.

I blinked my eyes rapidly.

Is this a dream???

“Leo? Are you pulling another stunt?” I asked as I gulped hard.

“Stunt? Nope… This is the surprise I have for you so from now on your daughter and yourself will be leaving here cos I bought it specially for you both” He said as I jumped for joy.

I didn’t even know when I hugged him tightly and then hugged Dora as we jumped for joy.

What a pleasant surprise!

I can’t believe I now own a big house.

Arthur’s Pov:

We were still waiting outside the emergency room when suddenly the door swing open.

The doctor walked out with a stethoscope on his neck.

We rushed to the doctor.

“Doctor? Doctor?? How is she?” I asked anxiously.

The doctor smiled at me a little.

“Uhmm…. Congratulations sir you are now a father” He said as smiles escaped my lips.

I didn’t even realize that I was laughing.

My parents jumped for joy so did her mother.

“Your wife gave birth to a bouncing baby boy” The doctor announced as we shook hands and I hugged him.

I was so excited.

We were allowed to get in so we rushed straight into the ward.

The little baby boy was crying with his tiny sharp voice.

Am so excited!.

Am a father at last…..

Natasha’s Pov:

“Oh my gosh girlfriend… Am so happy for you” Brenda shrieked in excitement.

“Am more excited my dear Brenda” I smiled broadly still lying on the bed.

“I couldn’t believe that you are a mother already….This simply means that he is strongly yours now” She chuckled.

“Yes of course…. He is mine and I wouldn’t let anyone take him away” I smiled.

“That’s my girl” She winked at me.

“You need to see how excited he was…. Am glad he is happy” I laughed.

“You know what? You should get enough rest now” Brenda said as I smiled.

“I’ve been doing that so I need to gist” we shared a laugh.

Finally no one can take him away….

He’s so mine!

Aliyah’s Pov:

The next day,,, baby Arya and I packed into the house.

It is heaven on Earth for sure….

I couldn’t thank Leo enough.

He is such an angel in human form for my baby Arya and I.

I wonder what we could have done without him in our lives.

My baby girl can now sit and sing her song which only her can hear…🤣🤣

Baby talk 😋

I sat her on the ground as I dressed her up.

“Oh no baby’s comb… I need to comb her hair” I said as I walked to her room to get her comb.

I got into the room and sighted the comb on her drawer.

I took the comb and walked out of the room.

I looked around to my greatest surprise,,, baby Arya was no longer there.

I freaked out….
