Kathryn’s POV

Melissa’s one week for rest is over now and our plan can finally begin. I can’t wait to accomplish my plan and put Mitchell in her place, she’s just so full of herself.

“So… What did you say Chris’s schedule is like?” Melissa asked for the umpteenth time making me sigh frustratedly

“Why aren’t you focusing on this mission? I told you it’s really important to me, stop being like this” I said tiredly

“I’m sorry girlfriend, it just doesn’t sit well with me acting like a poor girl but I’ll do anything for you so don’t worry. Chris goes to the restaurant by 1 pm right?” she asked now focusing her attention on the plan

“Yes! This means you have to start your act at least ten minutes before he arrives and you also have to bear in mind. You can’t only act when you’re around him, you should also put on an act around everyone in that restaurant so nothing will go wrong” I said

“Yeah, I will do all you’ve said. But what about my face? I can’t possibly go there with this face because everyone will recognize me immediately”

“I know and that’s why I’ve prepared a facial mask, especially for you. It will change your face completely and you can’t ever take it off until the mission is accomplished” I said showing it to her

“I can’t ever take it off? Alright then, I just hope this plan succeeds quickly because I sure love my freedom” she muttered sighing softly

“It definitely will, you don’t need to worry about a thing. You’ll deal with Chris in the restaurant while I deal with Mitchell at the agency. I will definitely make her fall at my feet” I said with so much determination

“Yes, drama queen! I need to pack my things now and go to the house where I’m to live from now on so I can resume work tomorrow. I also need to rest before then” she said standing up

“You rested for a wh0le week and now you still want to rest? Why do I get the feeling that you’re pregnant? Only pregnant women wish to rest all the time” I said suspiciously

“You’ve definitely gone nuts! Why would I be pregnant at such a young age? Is that what you wish for?” she asked glaring hærd at me

“No, but I’m just trying to state the fact. Fine, let’s get your things quickly so you can go to that apartment and begin a new life” I said following behind her

“A new life my foot! I wish I could skip all this and just continue living my carefree life” she muttered

“Don’t think about backing out now Melissa. You gave me your word and you have to do what you promised to” I said

“I never said I would back out! I always fulfill my promise and this is not an exception” she said

“Thank you so much, I promise to repay you for this someday” I said with a smile

Now all that’s left is for Chris and Mitchell to break up and I can’t wait for that to happen.

Chris POV

“Chris” Mitchell called as we lay on the bed ready to sleep

“Hmm” I hummed

“Do you think we can ever have a proper wedding? I mean, the one we had was a fake one with a fake marriage certificate based on a contract only. Can we ever get married for real?” she asked staring into space

“I honestly can’t answer that question” I said sincerely

“You can’t answer? Does this mean our relationsh¡p will be over once the contract ends?” she asked now staring at me

“I….I didn’t mean it like that, I just…” I paused and sighed

“You’re still thinking low of yourself?” she asked gently

“I…I just feel like I don’t deserve you. You deserve the best and I won’t be able to give that to you” I said calmly

“Alright, I understand” she said and turned around

“Mitchell! Mitchell!!” I called but she didn’t answer

I don’t know why I keep messing up every time. It’s my first relationsh¡p yet I’m beginning to ruin things within a few days.

“I’m really sorry okay? I didn’t mean it that way and I’ll stop thinking low of myself now. Instead, I’ll work hærd to become an independent man that you can solely rely on” I said strongly and that made her slowly face me again

“Are you really going to do that?” she asked staring at my face as if searching for an answer

“I promise” I said seriously

“How am I even supposed to trust you? This minute, we’re fine and the next minute, you’ll start acting strange” she said folding her arms

“I’m for real this time! I told you I’ll work hærd and I’ll make sure to keep you by my side no matter what” I said again

“Fine then! Let me believe you this once” she said with a warm smile

I leaned closer to her and k-ssed her forehead before laying on the bed again.

“Why do you only like k-ssing my forehead?” she asked pouting her l-ips

“Because I don’t want to cross my limit” I answered softly

“Your limit? And who said there’s a limit somewhere?” she asked

“You know what I’m talking about Mitchell. We just started dating recently so I want us to take things slowly. We should get to know more about each other first before getting intimate with each other” I explained

“But….. I don’t want that” she said with a sad look on her face

“You want us to go into rom-nce already?” I asked

“Kind of! Maybe not really deep rom-nce but at least, not just k-ssing my forehead. You won’t even k-ss me on the l-ips if I don’t make a move first” she complained

Instead of saying anything, I sat up again and k-ssed her l-ips slowly and passionately. She immediately responded like she was expecting me to do that and she wasn’t ready to let me go until she had to stop to catch her breath.

“My l-ips aren’t running away so why are you acting so possessive? It’s good though! I mean, my l-ips are all yours so you can do whatever you want with it” I winked at her

“Let’s sleep. Goodnight” she said shyly and hurriedly pulled the duvet over her head

After k-ssing me like it’s going to be our last k-ss, she’s now acting shy? Girls and their drama.

*Next morning*

I was woken up with a light k-ss on my l-ips and I opened my eyes only to find Mitchell’s pair of eyes staring at me.

“Good morning” she nibbled over my l-ips and got down from the bed

“Are you going to wake me up with a k-ss from now on?” I asked staring at her as she walked to the bathroom

“Why? You don’t like it?” she asked turning around

“What? Of course, I do! Although, it feels kind of strange but it doesn’t matter. Getting a k-ss from my beautiful girlfriend every morning is going to be the best thing that happens to me every day.

Besides, I heard that if your girlfriend k-sses you every morning before you go to work, you’ll have a blissful day and good things will come your way” I said with a smile

“Well, I don’t believe that. But one thing I believe is that if you spend five minutes more in that bed, you will be extremely late for work this morning” she giggled and went into the bathroom

What is she talking about? Is it late already? I picked up my phone from the side table and w¡dened my eyes in shock after checking the time.

I’m supposed to resume work by 8 am and the time is 7:28 already, looks like I will be skipping breakfast this morning.

I must have had a beautiful sleep because I k-ssed Mitchell before going to bed last night. Love is really sweet like they say if you’re with the right person.

It’s just that I’ve seen it in movies that true love faces lots of obstacles and I wonder if my relationsh¡p will also be like that.

It’s the first time I will be dating someone so I really hope nothing comes between us. What could possibly happen to us by the way?

Mitchell is friendly and very humble. I’m also from a humble background and I don’t even have friends talk more of enemies so I don’t think anything will go wrong.

But then, I can’t help but think about what happened to Mitchell recently.

Mr. Williams tried investigating it but we still couldn’t find out who those people that attacked Mitchell were and it’s still making me worried. I just hope they are gone for good.

Ronald’s POV

I sipped my drink slowly and at the same time stared at Kevin from the corner of my eyes. I asked him to meet up with me after getting his letter a few days ago.

“Are you going to tell me the reason why you called me here or not? I’m sure you didn’t call me here just because to take a drink” he said getting impatient

“Of course not! You don’t have to be so impatient you know? I’m here to talk about Mitchell” I said

“What about her?” he asked simply

“I never said I was challenging you so why did you send that letter?”

“You were challenging me indirectly. You’ve been following me around for a while now and you’ve seen my next target is Mitchell so you want to get her first” he explained

“Wow! You’re smarter than I expected! Well, just step back because I’m definitely going to win her heart before you.

Luckily for me, my face hasn’t been shown in public so I will go to her with a different identity and it will only be a matter of time before she falls into my trap” I said with a smirk

“I don’t need to go to her with a hidden identity because I know Mitchell is not an easy catch, you saw it for yourself right?” he paused and c-cked a smile before continuing

“Mitchell isn’t one of those girls that will bend to your will just because you’re being nice to her. Remember she’s now married to a very handsome man that she loves so your plan probably won’t work” he concluded

“Just wait and see whose plan will work! And…..you should watch your back from now on, who knows what might happen very soon?” I smirked and left the restaurant

“Boss, what happened?” my underboss asked

“Let’s just go! You need to watch Kevin closely from now on. Anytime you notice he has let his guard down, get rid of him without informing me. I will reward you handsomely for it” I said angrily

“On it boss! What do you plan to do with Mitchell? Do you have anything in mind?” he asked

“I was thinking of approaching her with a different identity but that stupid Kevin Russell said it won’t work and I kind of see reasons with him.

Why will Mitchell fall for me when she has the most handsome man in the world as her husband? I need to come up with something else but I don’t know what to do exactly” I said staring into space

“Can I suggest something?” he asked politely

“Sure, go on!” I said and closed my eyes

“How about you find a way to drug Mitchell? I mean, she visits different restaurants almost every day so you can just have her followed.

After drugging her, you can take her to your house or any hotel and f**k her as you want” he concluded and I instantly snapped my eyes open

“Oh my goodness! Why didn’t I think of this before? You sure are smart and that’s why you are my underboss.

Have Mitchell Campbell followed from now on and anytime you succeed in getting her drugged, let me know. I will suspend whatever I’m doing and come over right away” I said

“Yes boss”

Mitchell Campbell! So this is it! I don’t need to stress myself anymore because this plan is surely perfect.
