Lucy came back from her place of work and was surprised to see goodluck sleeping on the ground outside their house,so she tapped him gently on the head and goodluck opened his eyes and was looking pale at that moment
”goodluck why sleeping outside? and why is ur eyes so red? Lucy asked and immediately goodluck started crying ”goodluck wat is it? why are u crying now? Lucy asked confusedly ”aunty am hungry! aunty am very hungry”, goodluck cried
”hungry?? how? but I left enough food for u before going to the office”, Lucy said
”i didn’t have the chance to eat because my mum yelled at me and threw me out of the house since morning simply because she saw me playing with the toy gun u bought for me!! aaaaah my stomach! aunty pls am very hungry plssss”,goodluck cried holding his stomach ”what?? she threw u out since morning simply because she met u playing with the toy gun I bought for u? Lucy asked confusedly as goodluck nodded his head positively still crying
”kate must be very stupid for doing that! come on let’s go in,side let me give u something to eat,..but u could have gone to mama ekene’s house to stay rather than sleeping outside the cold! oh sorry! I forgot mama ekene even traveled”,Lucy said and was about entering the house but unfortunately the door was locked in,side,
”what kind of a Jezebel sister is this Kate self? Lucy muttered to herself and knocked heavily on the door ”who is there? Kate shouted from in,side ”oh pls open the door for me jare”, Lucy responded rudely, just then the door opened, Lucy and goodluck walked in
”oh u this criminal boy,u still have the gut to enter in,side this house abi? now go outside I don’t want to see u in this house again”, Kate yelled
”oh pls will u sit down there and let the poor boy be! how could u be so mean on this boy? u threw him out simply because u saw him with a toy gun! u are such a disgraceful elements! u are so wicked and hatred, u left the poor boy outside since morning without allowing him eat the food I kept for him, u know wat kate! u disgust me”, Lucy yelled
”dont u dare insult me! u are the most disgraceful elements I have ever seen for giving him a toy gun! wait wait wait! are u in any way teaching him how to practice with a gun? go ahead and teach him very well, but guest wat? u shall be the first person he will kill with his gun when he grow up and become an armbed robber just like his stupid unknown father! u all are dsame, bunch of criminals”,Kate yelled and walked outside leaving Lucy short of words and dumbfounded.

TWO WEEKS LATER
Kate was seen outside their compound washing some of her dirty clothes with earpiece on her ears, when one of her friend called Mimi ran up to her sweating and p-nting heavily
”aaaah babe how far? this one u are sweating like this I hope all is well? Kate asked and removed the earpiece on her ear ”so u are here? u don’t know wat is happening? Mimi asked ”wa..wat happened? Kate asked confusedly ”hmmm!! ur sister Lucy has just been rushed to the hospital! she was knocked down by a car and her condition is very very terrible”,mimi announced.

”babe no time for question! let’s hurry up to the hospital! ur sister is battling with her life now! come on let’s hurry up”, Mimi said. goodluck who was in,side eavadropping on their discussion rushed outside
”aunty Mimi pls wat happened to my aunty? goodluck asked almost in tears, while Kate eyed him and went in,side to dressed up ”goodluck dear! pls calm down ok! ur aunty will be ok,..she was just involved In a little accident but don’t worry she will be fine I assure u that ok? Mimi lied trying to make him not to look bad ”are u sure my lovely aunty will be ok? goodluck sadly asked
”offcourse baby boy! ur aunt will be fine” Mimi replied, just then Kate came out already dressed ”mimi let’s go”, Kate said as they both rushed out of the compound leaving goodluck behind,.. they finally got to the hospital where Lucy was admitted
”excuse me pls I want to see the doctor! Kate said to the person in charge of the hospital reception ”before u see the doctor u will have to buy a card”, the lady responded ”just look at this stupid lady telling me to buy a card before I see the doctor! is ur doctor God? my friend just direct me to the doctors office Biko! wat rubbish”, Kate yelled ”am sorry ma am only following instructions”, the lady said
”is alright how much is the card? Mimi asked ”two thousand naira”, the lady replied ”two thousand naira just to see the doctor? that means my sister bill will be two million naira! criminals everywhere”, Kate cursed
”with all due respect ma, I will not have u call me such again”,the lady angrily said ”kate that’s enough! here! have the money and give us the form to fill”,.Mimi said and handed the lady two thousand naira notes,..after everything, they fill the form and the lady directed them to the doctor’s office,..on getting to the doctor’s office, they knocked ”come in! the doctor said from in,side…

Just then they entered and greeted the doctor who replied their greetings immediately ”how may I help u young ladies”,the doctor asked ”well actually doctor, I was told my little sister was knocked down by a car and was rushed to this hospital
”oh u mean miss Lucy? the doctor asked ”yes doctor! she is my sister”, Kate replied the doctor who was seen shaking his head negatively ”hmmm too bad! the accident affected her so badly,she was having internal bleeding,..we tried all we could to save her, but unfortunately she died! but before she died she mentioned a name GOODLUCK.”, the doctor said and shake his head out of pity.
