MITCHELL POV
“So you might be pregnant?”Luis asked as we both sat on the sofa in his study
“Yes,I might”I replied touching my stomach
“It will be good to have a fruit of our love”He said as he pulled me close
“A boy that looks like you right?”I asked
“No,A girl that looks exactly like you”He said smiling
We both smiled at each other and what Mitchell said earlier came back to hunt me
“Will Mitchell really cause trouble for us?”I asked
“She might but we won’t let her win”He replied
“But how will we win,You know I don’t belong to this world”I said
“I know and that’s why have decided to tell every one we know the truth”He said
“What? You plan on telling them that the Mitchell who have been with them all this while isn’t the real Mitchell?”I asked
“Yes I plan to,If that’s the only way to have you here,Then so be it”He replied
“Isn’t that taking it a bit far? The real Mitchell wouldn’t us go even if that happen”I said
“It might not stop her but at least we should give it a try”He said
“Luis!”I called gently
“No Mitchell,We need to do this ,I don’t want to lose you”He said
Just then the door opened and Max walked in
“Your Highness, it’s time to go and see the minister of finance”he said bowing
“Cancel it”Luis replied
“We have been cancelling it for days now your majesty,if we are to cancel it one more time,Am afraid the funding issue won’t be resolved”Max said
“I don’t want to leave my wife alone”Luis said
“Then her Highness can come with us,After all we are going to the minister home himself”He said
“Come with us”Luis said softly
“You know that I can’t,As long as she is out there,I can’t be seen”I said
“So will you continue to hide in here?”he asked
“I know you will try to find a way to get me out of this mess and I know that I won’t continue to hide in here forever but as of now, just let me wait here,I promise to be here when you get back”I replied
“Mitchell I……..”I stopped him from arguing further by k-ssing his mouth
“Just go to the meeting,You have been postponing it for a longtime now”I said
“Fine then,Wait here for me till I come back, Two guards will be standing by the door to protect you”He said and I nodded
He left and a while later,I was going through some books and though i was physically in the study my mind was mile away
I kept wondering about Mitchell,What would she be doing now? Is she already telling every one the truth or perhaps is she planning some thing worse
Just thinking about the other made me feel scared,She was so very angry,I won’t be surprised if she was cooking some thing up
Just outside the door,I heard a sound and then there was silence
The guards were the only one at the front door, What’s happening? I thought as I went to open up only to see the two guards on the floor,They were Unconscious.
Knowing that there was danger,I was about to close the door when two men walked in
I scre-med,running back into the study,Wanting to find a means of escape but they caught me and covered my nose with a white handkerchief and before I knew it,I was Unconscious.

It was the rain,Which kept falling on me that woke me up
I was tied to a pole and I was on the palace roof
To be precise I was standing on the edge,Any push from some one would certainly lead toy death
I looked around me scared only to see Mitchell and the lady and two guards.
The two guards would have been the one who took me from the room forcefully
We all stood in the rain,looking at one another
“Why am I here?”I asked trying to pull from the rope they used to tie me
“Easy or you will be dead before I get to say my piece”Mitchell said
“Untie me right now!” I yelled at them
“She still thinks that just because she is the queen,She can still order us here”The old lady said
“In a matter of time,She will be ruling the dead because she will also be dying right here, Right now”Mitchell said
“You cant do this Mitchell!”I yelled at her
“Of course I can,You having my face is some thing that can be justified but you stealing my identity and taking the away the man I love is some thing I can’t stand”She yelled at me
“I didn’t plan for all this,Your disappearance got every one to believe that I was you,Luis also thought so at first but he found out the truth and by then there was nothing I could do because we both love each other”I said
“Bitch! That love of yours will be your end”She said angrily
“Don’t waste more time Mitchell,Push her already,Some one might come and stop you!”The lady said and It was then I knew that Mitchell was just some kind of puppet because the old lady was the one who was telling her to do every thing
“Don’t do this Mitchell,You are not a murderer”I said as Mitchell began to walk towards me
“If she dies,You can have your place again “The lady said and Mitchell kept on walking towards me
“Don’t do this”I said as she stood in front of me
“The only chance I had given you was thrown away by you,There is nothing I can do except for you to die”She said as she untied my hand
“Good bye Mitchell,I will try to make sure that Luis forgets you”She said and pushed me
I clutched her clothe tightly and she fell off with me
Luckily we both held the roof edge,Trying to survive
“Why are you just standing there,Come and help me”Mitchell yelled at the old lady who stood back watching us
The guards wanted to come to Mitchell rescue but the old lady stopped them
“What are you waiting for?”Mitchell yelled at her
“You dummy! You think I am on your side?”She said as she walked towards us
“Wh…..what are you saying?” Mitchell asked
“You think that I don’t know your plan right,you will get married and then get rid of me”She said
“How do you know that?’
“I heard you talking about it with your mom”She said
“That…….I……”,
“Don’t try to excuse yourself,I knew all along that when you became the queen,You would push me aside,I never thought you were an ingrate,After saving you and helping you!,you decide to pay me back this way?”She yelled at her angrily
“Look just help me up and we will talk about this “She said
“Sorry but I dont want to,It will benefit me if the two of you die,That way I can bring my daughter into the king life and am sure that she will make him more happy”She said
“You cant do this to me!”Mitchell yelled at her
“I can and I will”Standing up she stepped on both my hand and Mitchell
We let go using one hand to steady ourselves,The old lady laughed as she watched us struggle
“No need to struggle,you both are going to die”She said
“If am going to die I won’t be dying alone”Mitchell said angrily then she starred at me
“Save yourself,No matter what you must save yourself,Don’t let my death be in vain,I might not like you but I will prefer you beside Luis than this witch daughter beside him “Mitchell said to me
“You fool!”The old lady yelled bending towards Mitchell ready to push her off but Mitchell was fast,She pulled her by the leg and they both fell off .
“Mitchell!!!!!!!”I yelled out.
If I had known that this was what she had in mind,I would have stopped her,I thought as I held the edge tightly
“Mitchell!!!”Luis called and just then he came to me and pulled me up and I held him tightly
The two guards had been caught by Max and some other guards
“Are you okay?”Luis asked starring at me
“I am but……Mitchell”I said softly and we both stared at the floor only to see the two body oozing with blood.
“She didn’t deserve to die”I said as the tears began to pour and quickly Luis hugged me
“It’s okay,it’s going to be okay”He whispered soothingly
A MONTH LATER
We both stood in front of the sea starring at the waves
“I think it’s time”Luis said beside me
I opened the little wooden box and poured out the ashes
I watched sadly as the water carried the ashes away
” She would have wanted this?”Luis said softly
“I just hope that wherever she might be,she would be happy”I said
“Common let’s go”Luis said holding my hand as we both began to walk back to the car
It’s been a month,A month since that tragic day .
As quietly as possible Max and a Luis had taken care of Mitchell and the old lady corpse
They didn’t tell any one about what happened and no one knew of the death of Mitchell .
Luis had said that it will best if no one knew the truth.
The corpse had been kept In morgue until today when we both decided to pay her final rites.
After all thanks to her death,Am still Alive,If she hadn’t pull the lady, The lady would have succeeded in killing the both of us
That’s some thing I will never forget and that’s why I took it up to give her her final rights.
“Do you think it’s right for us not to tell her parents”I asked
“It’s best if they keep on thinking you are their daughter,it will sadden them if they were to know that their daughter was dead” He said
“You are right! What they don’t know won’t hurt them”I said
“So have you seen the doctor?”He asked
“Yes I did”I replied .
“And is it confirmed “He asked as he stopped to stare at me
“Yes,Am pregnant “I replied and he hugged me
“Thank you! Thank you for having my child,Thank you for coming into my life,Thank you for coming back and thank you for loving me”He said and I could only nod in response
The secret about the book was never told to anyone
Only Luis and I know about it and for security reasons,We have kept it in a safe place
I always thought that the reason the book had brought me here was unknown but now I know why
This world is where I belong,Where my future lies with the man I love and I know that as long as am the King’s bride, I will forever be happy
I know that Mitchell deaths was destined,It had to be one of us,Some one had to die while the other lived and that’s what happened with Mitchell,She died while I lived and that is some thing I will treasure forever.
Smiling up at Luis,I pulled him down towards me and whispered into his ears
“I love you my king” And then I k-ssed him.
