A week Later..

It’s exactly two weeks to Cindy’s wedding.

It’s on Friday – Cindy and Samuel’s medical test and check up taking place today as well as Samuel and Fred’s meeting with George.

Thomas came visiting Philip at work during lunch.

“Hey, get us some food and drink in a restaurant.” Thomas said to Dammie and gave her some money.

She bowed and left.

“How are you? You are looking so dull. Are you okay at all?” Thomas asked.

*no. I am not f*cking okay. The plans ought to make me happy but it’s making me feel a lot of guilt in my heart and soul. Thomas….take a look at it, we hurt the girl. What we did was so bad. What if her fiancee get to know and he didn’t marry her again..?” Philip asked.

Thomas hissed.

“You are mad. Like, you are so crazy upstairs. Won’t that makes our plan perfect if her fiancee decided to jilt her? It’d just be a wonderful opportunity for her to be yours. Gosh… I hate having things to do with coward people like you. You ain’t acting like a man at all. You are nothing but a baby.” Thomas said pissed off.

“Don’t be mad at me. Listen to me and stop acting like a fool. I’m telling you the plan you brought up was so bad and you’re freaking out. Okay, what if the lady is your sister?” Philip asked.

“Stop saying nonsense. And stop acting silly. She can never be my sister and besides, I wont allow you to do such to my own sister!” Thomas thundered.

“But this lady is someone’s daughter. Think like a human being for once you this rotten thing. gain some conscience for once!” Philip yelled.

“See who’s talking! did you forgot you were acting crazy all these while all because of this lady, now I helped you out, you are tryna blame me.” Thomas yelled back.

“you didn’t help me, you just ruined me. You ruined my family, you ruined my family name and image if the world gets to know.” Philip shouted angrily.

“Hey! So, you just remembered you have a family name and image to protect, right? After ruining the innocent lady’s life. a wh0le pastor’s son for that matter. You are nothing but a disgrace to all other pastor’s children.” Thomas howled.

“Shut that h0le you called a mouth up! Yeah…shut it. I didn’t ruin anyone’s life, you f*cking brought the f’cking idea you sc-mbag!” Philip hurled.

“I can see you need help. You good for nothing thing.” Thomas shouted breathing heavily.

“You need more help!” Philip holler.

They both glared at each other furiously and wrathfully breathing like they’ve just finished running a relay race.

“I’d be leaving early today, please cover up for me.” Cindy told Samuel during lunch in a restaurant.

“What’s happening?”

“My fiancee and I are going for medical tests in his family hospital.”

“Oh…that’s a wonderful idea.” Samuel concurred.

“Thanks. How’s the plan going?”

“Well, Fred had called George and we’d be meeting today after work.”

“Oh…fine. Just calm down, okay? All would be fine.” Cindy said shoving a spoonful of ice cream in her mouth.

*yeah. Thanks.” Samuel said simply.

“Sam?” Cindy called.

“Yeah?”

“Even if you get to know the truth behind everything concerning your wife, will you still divorce her or forgive her?” She asked.

Samuel chuckled lightly.

“For someone to keep a big secret away from me for almost three years, it’s obvious she’s capable of killing me if she get the chance.” Samuel said taking a sip from his drink.

“Hmm…Samuel. But forgiveness matters.” Cindy said staring into his eyes.

“Not in her case my dear.” Samuel replied staring at her too.

They stared at each other without saying a word. The stare held a lot messages.

Dammie on the other hand, after buying what she came to bought…she looked around as if searching for something. Then she s₱0tted Cindy and Samuel. She boiled in anger as she looked at Cindy maliciously.

If stares could kill, Cindy would have been dead by now.

She smiled when an idea popped to her head. She advanced towards them smiling wickedly.

“Hello.” She said when she got to their table making Cindy and Samuel came to their senses.

They looked up and saw her. Samuel immediately remembered who she was.

‘Cindy’s boyfriend’s sister. Alice fainted when she saw her.’ Samuel thought.

“Hello. Have a seat.” Cindy smiled

“No. I won’t be able to sit. I came with my brother to get some things for mum. She’s suddenly craving for restaurant food.” Dammie said with a smile.

“Oh..is he outside?” Cindy asked.

“Yes. Waiting in the car.” Dammie answered.

“Great then. Can you take me to the car ’cause I don’t know where he parked.” Cindy asked.

“Oh…that’s simple. He parked just outside the restaurant. I would have taken you there but there are still some things I need to get.” Dammie said.

“No problem. I’d find my way.” Cindy said and turned to Samuel.

“I’d be right back dear.” She said and winked.

Dammie glared at her secretly which Samuel saw but said nothing.

Cindy stood up and left.

Dammie, after making sure she’s gone sat down where she had stood up.

“Why did you lied to her?” Samuel asked

“there’s no time to waste time. I’d make it snappy.” Dammie said looking behind her.

Samuel said nothing as he just kept on watching her like she’s some kind of an interesting movie.

“I knew you’d be having lots of questions going on in your head right now but I’m not here for that yet. Maybe later. Your wife Alice…don’t deserve you as good looking as you are. Wondering why she fainted when I got to your table that night? That’s because I caught her having a hot s’x with my boyfriend….George who sat with you. I know you won’t believe me but here is the proof.” Dammie said as she brought out her phone.

Cindy kept looking around for more than ten minutes but no sign of Emmanuel’s car. She doesn’t want to believe that Dammie tricked her, she kept on searching for him but no success.

She eventually gave up getting to know that Dammie tricked her.

‘But why?’ She wondered as she walked back to in,side to meet Samuel.

“Samuel, where’s Dammie?” She asked sitting down?

“Let’s go.” Samuel answered standing up.

Cindy was puzzled.

“What do you mean ‘let’s go.’ I asked a question.” Cindy said looking up to meet his gaze.

“Just listen to me an let’s leave this place.” Samuel said almost in a whisper.

He was trying everything in him not to break down in tears in public.

When Cindy wasn’t answering him on time, he left her, paid the bills and went to the car.

Cindy was confused, perplexed and puzzled all at a time.

“What could have happened? First was Dammie….and now Sam? Gosh..! I’m going crazy.” Cindy said standing up.

She picked her phone and walked out of the restaurant.

“Here is the food sir.” Dammie said walking in,side Philip’s office.

She didn’t met Thomas in the office again. She wondered why.

“Get lost and trash the food.” Philip said in a deep scaring voice.

Dammie flinched almost stumbling and left his office.

“What the heck? Always moody. Is he the only handsome guy on earth? Even the angel sent to the earth in human form that I spoke to some minutes ago was even more calm. Typical sign he’s interested in me already! Oh gosh! I’m blushing.” Dammie said to herself as she sat on her office chair smiling c*ckily.

“Come to think of it…boss wife, pregnant? How? The only female…I know that he might be seeing is Cindy!” Her eyes w¡dened.

“Is Cindy really pregnant?” She thought.

“Tell me what was the drama back there for?” Cindy asked when she got into the car.

Samuel gave no response as his mind raced back to the scene he saw on Dammie’s phone earlier.

He had watched with a shaking body as he saw his wife having s’x with another man.

“That f*cking George” Samuel muttered unknowingly.

Cindy swiftly take a look at him.

“George?” She asked.

Samuel ignited the car and drove out of the restaurant to the hospital.

Cindy knew better than to probed him. She knew everyone needs their alone time and he would tell her whatever it is when he is ready. So she left him and looked outta the window.

Then suddenly came a loud scre-m from her.

Samuel immediately stopped the car abruptly.

He turned to her holding her.

“What happened again?” He asked hurriedly.

Cindy couldn’t answered as she just wriggled in pains. She gro-ned loudly holding tightly unto her tummy..

Samuel didn’t know what else to do. He just held her delicately like she was some egg.

Few minutes later, she didn’t feel the pains anymore. She breathed out and watched like a caught thief.

“Cindy…let’s do some medical test in the lab when we get to the hospital now. please…this is the third time in my presence. What if it’s not as a result of stress like you think?” Samuel said softly.

Cindy sighed and sat rightly. She forced a smile and looked at him.

“You don’t have to worry. Okay, fine. I and Emmanuel are going for a medical check up today like I said already…so everything will be said there. Worry not, I’m fine.” she said.

“Okay then. Just be fine. I can’t really bear seeing you in pains when I’m perfectly fine.” Samuel said.

“I said don’t worry yourself now. It’s fine really.” Cindy said taking his hand in hers and squeezed it softly.

Samuel took the intertwined hand and k-ssed her hand.

Cindy smiled at him.

He let go of her hand and he ignited the car driving away.

“I’d be in the car.” Ellen said to Cindy as she got down from the car.

“Thanks babe. I’ll be right back.” Cindy said and left happily.

Emmanuel has been there before her. He had called her and she had told him she’s on her way.

She made her way to the doctor’s office after asking a dark complexioned nurse.

“Darling. Sorry for keeping you waiting.” She apologized sitting on the car next to him.

“Apology accepted my love. ” Emmanuel said.

“Where’s the doctor anyways?” She asked.

Before he could answered, the door swung open and an elderly doctor walked in.

“Good day sir.’ Cindy greeted respectfully.

“Welcome our wife.” The doctor answered.

“I am doctor Lawrence.” He added.

“Cindy sir.”

“I knew that already.” he smiled at her.

“You’re lovely.” He added.

Cindy smiled…

“You’re gonna follow me to the lab now, you both.” Doctor Lawrence said.

“Okay sir.” They answered.

He led the way and they followed suit..

“Emmanuel told me you’d be going home with the medical report today, if not I’d have tell you to come tomorrow for the result. But it’s fine. He’s my son, so anything for him.” Doctor Lawrence said as they walked into the laboratory.

“Welcome doc.” The lab technician said.

“Thanks. They are here.” Doctor Lawrence said.

“Oh…come over here.” The lady said.

They walked to her and she started the necessary processes.

Ellen decided to stepped down from the car. She’s been in,side the car for some minutes now pressing her phone.

She got down and leaned on the car still pressing her phone.

Her eyes suddenly landed on something beside her leg.

She looked down at it took it up. It’s a man’s wallet.

She wondered who would own it. She opened it to see if there’s anything she could use to locate the owner.

She saw nothing other than money and three debit cards.

She took one of the debit card and read the name on it ‘FRED WILSON’.

“Fred Wilson?” She questioned.

She put the card in,side the wallet back and held it tightly in her hand.

“The owner will come for it sooner or later.” She said opening the car door and dropped the wallet on the seat.

An Hour Later.

Emmanuel and Cindy were seated in the doctor’s office waiting for the result of their test.

They were talking happily and smiling when the doctor finally came in.

“Sorry for keeping you waiting. Like I said, if not because Emmanuel is my son, I’d have asked you to come tomorrow for the result of your test. But it’s fine now. The results are here with me.” The doctor smiled.

“Thank you sir.” Emmanuel said holding Cindy’s hand.

“Uhm, well….the results here are all good news. Be thankful.” The doctor said while they smiled.

“First, you both are compatible and good to go to marry. Emmanuel’s blood group is AS while that of Cindy is AA. Can you see you’re compatible?” The doctor smiled.

“Thank you doctor.” They responded with a smile.

“Another result here shows that none of you is battling with any kind of disease. You are both disease-free. Both if you are healthy.” The doctor added.

“Wow. That’s awesome!” Emmanuel said still holding Cindy’s hand.

“Yeah. But…there’s a but.” The doctor said.

“What?” They both asked.

The doctor Laughed.

“You don’t need to look tensed. Just pulling your legs. It’s a good news though. I’m sure you both would be happy to hear this.” The doctor said smiling again.

They both breathed in relief seeing the smile on the doctor’s face.

“What’s the good news sir?” Cindy asked.

“Yeah. Good news. The good news is that…” He faced Emmanuel.

“Your wife to be is PREGNANT!”
He faced Cindy, “you are PREGNANT!” He smiled happily.

“That must be a joke.” Emmanuel spoke up his hands leaving Cindy’s hand.

“That’s such an expensive joke sir. I can’t be pregnant.” Cindy said.

“I’m serious here. And you…” Facing Cindy

“You are a doctor and I guess you know we don’t joke while working.” The doctor said and Cindy nodded.

“You are right sir. But I can never be pregnant.” Cindy said.

“She can’t be pregnant doctor. Can I see the result myself?” Emmanuel asked.

“Why not.” The doctor said and gave him the results.

He collected it and checked it and indeed, it’s true.

‘Cindy’s pregnant for real.’ He thought looking at her.

“What’s there?” She asked taking the result from him.

“What? This can’t be. I’m sure there’s a mix up somewhere. No!” Cindy said tears forming in her eyes already.

“Our hospital has never recorded any error for the past 35years . what’s in the paper is nothing but the unclad truth.” The doctor said looking at the two confused soul in his front.

“Emmanuel, trust me. There must be a mixed up somewhere. This is definitely not our results.” Cindy said

“this is the only hospital I’ve been attending with my family. And there’s never been an error. So, explain this Cindy! How come you are pregnant when I’ve never touched you?” Emmanuel asked obviously angry.

Cindy looked from Emmanuel to the doctor and from the doctor to the paper she’s holding and back at Emmanuel.

‘This should be a dream father Lord. Wake me up soon.’ She thought.

“I’m talking to you Cindy!” Emmanuel said.

“I can never be pregnant, don’t you get it?!” She said visibly shaking and sweating despite the air conditioner in the office.
