Iris’s Pov:
I picked up the golden chain necklace and stared at it with pleasure.
“My goodness! This is so beautiful Iris” Glenda said excitedly as I smiled.
“Yes Glenda.. I bet this is really very expensive” I said looking at myself in a mirror.
I looked absolutely gorgeous.
“You know girl? Am super happy for you” Glenda smiled
“I know right? I never dreamt of this! I never knew someone could still love me despite the kind of life I lived” I said
“Chris loves you so much and he’s the right one for you” Glenda said
“Yeah! But am really nervous.. I mean am going to meet his parents tomorrow night at the engagement party” I said
“That’s not a problem Iris! As long as Chris stands right beside you” Glenda said and I nodded.
Just then, Tina rushed in with a shopping bag.
“Sister Iris! Just take a look at the pretty dress uncle Chris bought for me” Tina said happily.
I love seeing her smile and Chris made her happy.
“Wow! You look extremely beautiful without pretty dresses, how much more when you put on pretty dresses” Glenda said
“I can’t wait for your engagement party sister” Tina said as she hugged me
“Love you Tina!” I smiled
“I love you too sister!” Tina rejoiced
Chris’s Pov:
“Goodness me! I never knew you were serious bro” Jerry laughed
“Well now you know! Mom and dad are coming back from the states by tomorrow morning for the engagement party” I said
“What? Chris are you sure about this? I mean are you sure you wanna get married to that hoer?” Jerry asked as I flared up angrily.
“Keep quiet Jerry! Let me warn you.. Don’t you ever try to call Iris a hoer” I said angrily
“Okay! Fine… Am sorry about that but bro you need to think about this properly! I mean what if your parents find out…” Jerry said as I scoffed.
“Find out what? That she was a pr-stitute? A slut?” I laughed

I walked out of Chris’s car looking really tensed.
The party hall was already filled by wealthy and popular guests.
Chris’s parents and sister Erica were also there.

“How about ur parents? What if they don’t like me?” I asked as we walked into the party hall.
“They will definitely love you! You are lovable honey” He said and I blushed.
I turned around and saw Tina smiling at me.

His father is very kind but his mom and sister seems to be a snub.
I couldn’t even breathe.

Tears gradually rushed down my cheeks as I saw the video showing on the television.
Chris became very stunned.
In the television… A video of me having s*x was playing.
All eyes were on me.
They all stared at me with disdain…
I could hærdly blink my eyes.
“wh-re! She’s a hoer” Everyone kept saying.
I quickly pushed Chris’s hand and rushed out of the party hall.
Shame filled my face.

I burst into fresh tears as I walked out of the party hall with so much shame.
“So Iris have been involving herself into harlotry? She never told me about this?” I cried
“Calm down Tina! She wanted to tell you but she was afraid you won’t understand” Glenda said
“What do you mean by that? That I won’t understand? Tell me aunt Glenda does Chris know about this?” I asked
“Yes Tina! That was actually how they met each other” Glenda said and I shook my head.
“I can’t believe this… All this years, Iris has been lying to me” I wailed
“You have to understand Tina…she did all that for you, to give you a better life” Glenda said
“No! This is not the kind of life I want… Not an adulterous life… She has become a laughing stock” I cried
Just then, a group of people walked out of the party hall murmuring.

I just hope my sister is safe wherever she might be…

I kept running after her.
Until she stopped in a bridge and tried to jump over.
But I stopped her.
I quickly held her and carried her.
“Let go of me Chris! I want to die… Just lemme end this” She cried
“If you must jump off the bridge… Then we’ll do it together” I said as she burst into tears and hugged me tightly.
I really feel sorry for her
She’s been through a lot in life!
Life has been so cruel to her…
After being maltreated, raped and pushed away from the house…
And after selling herself to survive with her little sister Tina, she still had to go through this…..

I lighted my stick of cigarette and smoked deeply.
