” Tanya you don’t need to know about her ” he told her honestly.
” Oh oh!!, I just wanted…..
Darrell cut her short.
” Tanya it as been over between us. I don’t love you anymore. I found a new love for myself am sure you’ll find yours very soon. Just play your coin well and it will work ” he said.
Tanya felt her heart collapsing and she was still controlling to suppress her tears.
” It’s alright Darrell. All I ask for is that if you can give me a chance, but it not possible. And I accept it. But hope you can still be friends with me ” she said hopefully and wearily.
” Yes ”
” Thanks Darrell ”
” You’re welcome ”
” I need to be going ”
” Okay Darrell, see you when ever we get a chance to meet again ”
He left her there. Tanya use a finger to wh¡p a tear from her eye and she inhale and exhale. Got up on her feet took her handbag from the table and walk out of the restaurant with a broken heart she blunder in her way, but maintain her balance.

Darrell had already receive Natalie’s account details. He’ll send the money into her account when he gets home.
He got home and alighted. Some times Darrell have is driver drive the car and some times he prefer driving it alone most especially when he wants to hangout with his friends or just feel like.

Darrell was in his room now and had already send the money to Natalie’s account.

Natalie was just coming out of the bathroom. She went to take a shower and after cleaning and dressing up. She pickedher phone from her bed.
Natalie almost scre-m out of joy when she saw the alert . But she didn’t scre-m or it will attract noise.
⌨ ” Darrell thanks for everything. How can I repay you. Am so grateful to you and my family too, I wish I can repay you ” she texted him happily.
Darrell had really felicitate her and she feel indebted to him.
⌨ ” Well soon you’ll know what I need from you, but for now am on your service ” he texted back.
Natalie read the text and was confused.
” What does he mean by very soon ” she asked herself wonderingly.
⌨ ” Don’t get me wrong am a gentle man ” he texted again.
Natalie sighed still wondering what he meant. But was excited that she’ll be able to pay for her mum’s operation.
She’ll have to take a leave for few days at least three days so she’ll be there when her mum wants to start the operation.

Natalie met Mrs Olivia and demanded for a leave. She was in her room. Olivia had ask her to bring her a cup of water and she did and now she using that opportunity to ask for the days off.

” So you want to take a leave for three days ” Olivia said more in a harsh tone.
” Ye… yes ” Natalie stuttered.
” It hasn’t even gotten to a month when you came and you want three days off ” she yelled at her fiercely making Natalie flinched.
” Ma’am my mum is having an operation. I want to be there please ma’am I really need leave and I promise to work more when i resume ” She said.
” Maid if you really determine on this, bet you, I’ll have you fired ” Olivia warned ruthlessly.
Natalie couldn’t believe that this woman could be this black_hearted.
” But….
” No but, you ain’t going anywhere. You’re yet to prove how competent your her, until then will you get a leave, expect you don’t value this job ” Olivia concluded.
” Does this woman even have a heart ” Natalie was astonished by her a black heated nature.
” She can go mum ” Darrell voiced could be heard from the doorway.
They both turn and saw Darrell. His eyes moved to Natalie.
” You can go, it just three days. Be with your mum ” he said and Natalie smiled but faded away when Olivia glared at her. She scurried out of the room afterwards
Olivia glared darted to Darrell.
” I wonder what is precisely with this maid that you always come to her rescue. Darrell there is fact you ain’t aware off, you belittle me in front that incompetent maid ” Olivia growled peevishly.
He ignore her and gave her a tight embrace and then disengage.
” Mum that’s how I’m. You ought to know me by now ” he shrug.
Mrs Olivia rolled her eyes off with a sigh.
” You and your whimsical behavior”
” Why did you call me here ” he quickly switch the topic.
Darrell have the habit of dropping matter that he don’t wish to discuss by adding a little fun if the person in question is infuriated i and by switching the topic immediately. He was an expert.

Natalie was in the hospital with Judy and her mum was taking into the operation room.
They all waited anxiously, tensely, since a heart operation will be 50,50. She might be able to get the four million but that can’t predict her mum’s fate. It now the turn to rely on doc and she and her sister had been praying silently to their maker(God ) .

The doc came and the expression in his face tells a sad tale.
” Doc how is our mum ” Natalie and Judy both ask the doc at the same time with anxiousness.
” Sorry Natalie and Judy your could survive the operation, she’s……
Natalie doc was cut short because Natalie collapsed to the floor, she fainted.

” Judy wake up mum is okay now ” Natalie shook Judy and she awake and met Natalie’s brisk and excited face. She stood up.
It was all a dream. She had falling asleep on Natalie’s shoulder after hours of tense and anxiousness. She’s glad that her mum is alive not dead. The bad dream was all because of tension.
” What!!! is mum really okay ” Judy said excitedly meet the doc eye squarely.
” Can we go meet her now ” Natalie requested with relief of tension.
” Yes, she’s yet to regain consciousness, but I’ll advice that you should be there for just a short time, beacause she need enough rest and no stress should affect the patient ” the doc said.
” Will we ” Natalie said with a wide smile.
Natalie and Judy scurried into the room.
Tears of joy tackle their cheeks and they scurry to her side.

Some minutes later Mrs Jeanne awaked. She raised her eyelid weakly and breath out painfully. She met her two daughters eyes and smiled weakly. They’d both embrace their mum and she wince because she felt a slight pain in her chest. Fully alert they yank quickly.
” Mum thanks goodness you’re okay ” Natalie said with tears of joy.
” it all over now mum ” Judy said still with tears of joy.
” Yeah ” Jeanne replied weakly.
” Finally ” Natalie whispered , wiping her own tears
Natalie was glad all was over. She had done it all though the help of Darrell. She acknowledge him as a God’s sent.

Natalie stay with them till the leave was expired. She report to duty the following day. After explaining to her mum and Judy the reason why she wanna continue with the job.

” So how was your mum’s operation ” Beth had inquired.
They where at the garden and Natalie was watering the flowers. It wasn’t her job, she was done with hers. So she beg the gardner who had giving them flowers the other day to give her to water the flowers she enjoy doing that. The other gardener was sick so he took a leave.
” It all went well Beth. Am grateful to Darrell he’s a God’s sent ” Natalie remarked and a smile flick the curve of her mouth.
” Hmm I think he’s more like a God’s sent to you. I think he likes you, I mean, that like like of a thing ” Beth whispered.
” What? ” Natalie exclaimed meeting her eyes squarely, acknowledging what she met.
It never occurred to her that might be the reason why he always insisting on helping her. First he save her from loosing her job and then he helped in saving her mum’s life. But she don’t see things in Beth’s perspective. She only thinks of Darrell as a helper.
” I got much evidence to prove my point. First is the kinda of relationsh¡p you shared with him. Darrell might be a very friendly boss, but he hasn’t gotten so close to a maid like the way he is so close to you. Have you seen him so friendly, so close to other maids ” she said, comparing her to believe her.
” I’m not much on that observant stuff, anyways we only meet coincidentally which is not that frequent , so how’ll I know if he’s that friendly with other maids ” Natalie said.
Beth smiled whimsically.
” Babe as a matter of fact, i got more evidence “Beth said follow by a sigh.
Natalie furrowed her brow and blink rapidly.
” Sir Darrell loves you, am sure and….
” Oh c’mon, He can’t never love me, am a maid ” Natalie cut her short, but for a instant her heart really wants it to be true, but her mind rebel against it because she don’t believe Darrell feels that way for her, and why she’s bother about all this is a close book to her.
” Being a maid can’t stop sir Darrell from loving you and let me speak will you ” Beth said wryly.
” Yesterday I saw the way he stare at you, he could even take his eyes off you. I know the meaning of those looks, it called the ‘ The eyes of love” She try convincing her.
” No Beth you’re just imagining things, he can’t feel that way for you ” Natalie refuse giving in, though her heart was beating in a different rhythm, begging to be loved.
Beth made a wry curve on her mouth and crook a smile afterwards.
” One more thing, Sir Darrell had never giving any of the maid the opportunity to call him by his name even if he is that friendly. You’re the first maid, Natalie, to call him by his name . With all this I say sir Darrell is in love with you. That am sure. ” she assured.
Natalie sighed.
” You can stay to water the flowers, am having hungry packs right now. Am going to get something to eat ” Beth said and left.
Natalie was almost convince that Beth was somehow right, he’s too friendly and she also observe the way he stare. She felt a tangling s-nsation rushing through her as she remember his touch.
” Gosh I think am going insane, what wrong with me. Why am I bother about that touch ” she cussed inwardly and then concentrate on watering the flowers, but it was half concentrate coz she now busy thinking if Darrell.

Darrell decide to go to the balcony and then he was there holding the rails thinking about Natalie. The idea of giving her a call poke to his mind. He’d brought out his phone from the pocket but hesitate as he thought she might be busy with her work.
He eyes look over to the garden. He saw his heartbeat watering the flowerd and smiled. He scurried back in,side and head towards the garden.
He’d came to an halt when he stood behind her. Natalie sense a presence behind her. She glance at the person over her shoulder and she felt her knee crumbling. It always like this, feeling awkward in his presence and she was yet to realize why.
” Darrell you’re here ” Natalie said.
” Yeah ” he replied softly.
Natalie flushed under the soft way he spoked.
He lean closer slowy and the more he came Natalie felt her heart racing faster.
” Natalie ” he called more in a weird whisper, making her shivered at the way he called her name.
” Damn it woman you’re so beautiful ” he said flipp-ntly and nest forward in a quick motion took her chin up to his mouth and then planted her l-ips on hers.
Natalie trembled at his hærd k-ss and Darrell accept the yearning in,side him. His tongue swept into the farthest recesses of her mouth, taunting, daring, conquering, until she went limp against him.
He drag his mouth damply away from hers as he struggle to catch his breath, while Natalie was melting like an ice and it was all followed by a profuse silent that seize the wh0le atmosphere. They glance at each other, both gritted with longing passion.
