” Huh, welcome back son ” Mrs Olivia said and embrace him.

” Thanks mum ” he said briskly as she disengage from the hug with a warm smile.

” You just came I’ll leave you to rest and after that I’ll ask one of the kitchen cook to prepare you your favorite meal ” she said.

“okay, but mum where is dad, Amber and the rest ” he inquired.

” Your dad as a press conference today, Amber is out with friends. Manuel and Marcus…… you know them they won’t say where they’re going to ” She replied.

” Huh ” he shrugged and left for his room. He took the elevator and went to his room.

” Sir Darrell is back ” Beth announce to Natalie.

” huh! wow ” she exclaimed reluctantly.

” Are you almost done with your work ” Beth ask titling her head forward to see if Natalie was done.

Beth was in the Laundry room with Natalie. She was folding the already washed clothes and tucking them one by one in a basket.

” Yeah, just folding the clothes into the basket” Natalie said with a smile.

” Huh ” Beth sighed.

” You’re done with yours for today? ” Natalie enquired.

” Yeah ”

Natalie was done folding the clothes in the basket. She pick it up.

” I’ll see you later ” Beth said, not wanting to disturb her until she was done with her chores.

Natalie was heading to Amber’s room to put clothes in Amber’s wardrobe , when Someone bumped into her and the basket fell from her hand, the arrange clothes were scatter in the floor.

” Don’t you see ” the person that bump into her yelled arrogantly.

She raised her brow to gaze at person. It a female maid like her

” But you’re the one who bump into me ” Natalie retorted with a frown. She was aware that it was her who bumped into her and was baffled with the rude tone she use instead of she to apologize.

” How dare you, you… She pause ” I guess you are the new maid ” she said eying her arrogantly.

” Don’t step in my part okay, have been here before you ” the maid said proudly and left.

Natalie rolled her eyes disgusted by her arrogant attitude, she shook her head wondering how a maid will be so arrogant to her fellow maids. Then she remember Beth words. ‘ Don’t cross Fiona’s part ‘. She knew it was Fiona coz yesterday Beth and Natalie saw her from afar and Beth told her that she was Fiona.

Natalie wasn’t going to let small issue such as Fiona attitude affects her. There are more proud people in the mansion and she shouldn’t let anger take the best part of her easily , speaking of getting angrily easily wasn’t her thing.

She squat down to pick the clothes and place them back in the basket.

” Are those my clothes ” she heard Amber saying .

She’s arched a nervous brow at her. The look on Amber’s face could kill. But her face easy a bit.

” Go wash them again, they must be dirty and next time don’t be clumsy ” She said and left.

” Just like that ” Natalie wonder in her mind.
She thought Amber will yell at her and even slap her or get her fired, like those rich spoilt brat. The killer look she gave tells she could’ve even slap her , but her face ease making Natalie flatter , now she believe Beth when she said the kid can be confusing and complicated sometimes. But she wonder why she have to wash the clothes again, the floor is clean, not even a stain. She got to remind herself that this Is the rich rules that she has to adjust it for the sake of her mum.

She sighed and went back to the laundry room and did the rewashing again and dry them in the drying machine.

Natalie took the clothes to Amber’s room and place them in her wardrobe.

She left the room and went straight to her room. On her way she made for a u turn coz she miss her way. She shook her head and laugh at herself softly. She’d almost get lost the day after she had arrived. She miss her way and got confuse on the part to take to her room, usually one could get lost in the huge mansion. Luckily for her Beth came by and chuckled when Natalie explained to her that she had lost her way. Form then onward she took note on her movement.

Natalie was in her room making a phone call, her sister was on the line.

📞” Hello Judy ”

📞” hi big sis, how’re you doing ”

📞” Doing great ”

📞 ” How’s mum ”

📞 ” Mum is fine, she got a pain in her chest earlier , but she’s fine now, she’s having a nap ” Judy said sadly.

📞 ” What ” Natalie exclaimed tensly.

📞 ” Mum is okay now ” Judy assured her.

📞 ” Hope she took her medicine before she slept ” she ask still feeling tense.

📞 ” Yes she had it before she fell asleep ” Judy reassured her.

📞 ” Okay if anything happens to her again, make sure to give me a call ”

📞 ” Huh, maybe ”

Natalie furrowed her brow at Judy’s last statement.

📞 ” Why do you say maybe? ” she asked.

📞 ” Because you might get worried easily, I’ll take care of mum over here and with the little per time work am doing, I’ll be able to by her some of her medicine if they ever get finished , I’ll do that until you get paid ” Judy said.

📞 ” Okay bye, speak with you later ” Judy added and hang up the call.

Natalie prayed silently that she’ll be able to pay for her mum’s operation soon. Only then will she have rest of mind.

She look at the wall clock and sprung up on her feet.

” They all might be done with their lunch, I’ve to wash the dishes ” she thought and went away, heading straight to the kitchen.

She was right, they were done, she pick the dishes from the dinning table and carried them to the kitchen.

After washing them, she head back to her room.

Natalie got up and head downstairs to clear and wash the dishes as usual.

” Bring some Ice cream to my room ” She heard Amber say from behind her.

She thought she wasn’t talking to her coz that wasn’t her job to do, but she knew Amber was referring to her coz they was no one in the kitchen now expect her. She twirled around.

” Okay ma’am ” Natalie replied.

Amber walked away, after she was done with the dishes, she went to get the Ice cream from the fridge and headed to Amber’s room.

📞 ” I’ll be there right away ” Darrell said over the phone. He was talking to someone relating to business.

He was walking towards the stairs and Natalie was coming in the same direction with the tray of ice cream in her hand.

Darrell wasn’t looking up, his glance was at his phone, Natalie didn’t see him either. Not until she lost her balance accidentally and the ice cream fell straight on Darrell’s shirt and then to the floor.

Natalie froze and Darrell arched a brow. Natalie and Darrell’s eyes met, Darrell was speechless when he saw her, he stood staring at her.

Natalie shuddered staring at him without moving a inch, completed struck with numbness. When she recovered, she’d thr-st forward and start brushing the ice cream nervously with her barehand.

Darrell seems to jerk out of whatever made him mute and took her hand away from her shirt, he felt some very light tangling s-nsation the moment his hand came in contact with her hand, and he place them gently in her side.

Natalie swallow hærd thinking he would yell at her or fired her. She’s hundred percent sure he was Darrell coz she had seen Amber and the twin brothers before, but not him.

” Am sorry sir ” Natalie said, swallowing the lump that seems to be stuck in her throat, she was almost sweating.

The words that came out of Darrell was not Natalie expected living her startled.

” It’s all right, it happens sometimes, just be careful next time around ” he said and made for a ‘u’ turn back to his room to change the mess up clothes.

“Beth was right, he’s really nice” she said inwardly and let out a sigh of relief.

Her smile faded away when she remembered she’d still have to deliver Amber her ice cream.

She squat down to clean up the mess. She’ll get pick the ice cream back in the tray. Some part of the ice cream her still on the floor, she’ll clean it with a rag after that.

She got up and arched a brow, she saw Beth approaching towards her.

” Natalie what are you doing with that ice cream and why is some of them on the floor ” Beth asked.

” Ma’am Amber ask for some ” She replied.

” Oops but it fell right ” Beth said.

” Yes ” she replied.

” I’ll take care of this mess. Go and get Little ma’am are ice cream or you might hear from her for delaying her ice cream ” Beth said taking the tray from her hand.

” Look at what we have here, is it the new maid and Beth, so which of you were clumsy.” Fiona voice could be heard.

Natalie and Beth arched a brow and Beth frowned when she saw Fiona with her friends Clara and Maria.

” You can go get the ice cream, ignore her ” Beth said.

” So she’s the clumsy one, I should’ve knew. Yesterday she bumped into me and today you can’t handle a common Ice cream ” Fiona said with a smirk.

” She_devil ” Beth muttered

” Natalie just go get the ice cream ” Beth added.

Fiona was about speak again when she was cut short by Beth.

” You better behave yourself, Sir Darrell is on is way ” Beth pointed out, they turn and saw Darrell approaching from afar.

” Oops, let’s go ” Fiona told the rest maid, and they was gone. May while Natalie as left to get the ice cream. Beth took the tray.

Beth cleared the mess and Natalie went to get Amber her ice cream.

” How could you be late, damn it, just a simple ice cream you couldn’t bring it on time. You look incompetent, maybe I’ll have to tell mum about you ” Amber charged at Natalie.

Natalie gasped, trembled as she heard that.

” Please don’t get me fired, am sorry for that ma’am , it won’t happen again ma’am please ma’am ” she begged.

Amber rolled her eyes irritatedly.

” This will be your last chance, mess up again, I’ll have mum throwing you out of here, got that ” she yelled at her.

” Now get your damn ass out of here ” she ordered coldly.

Natalie walked out, she wonder why the rich are like this, Judy and Amber might be the same age they’re both teen. Judy will never be so rude to anyone like the way Amber is. She wonder if good manner are meant for the poor only and not the rich. She’d need to adjust the wealthy people lifestyle coz her mum will need the money.

She had to drop out of the university to get money for her mum’s surgery when her mum got the heart disease. She loved her mum and don’t want to loose her since she was the only parent she got. Her dad had long died when she was ten,living her , her mum and baby sister twelve years ago.

She have been working hærd ever since, manage to secure herself to the university, not until her mum got the condition.

She’ll take any insult, yelling and unnecessary
scolding from anyone, she’s use to all this anyway, she remind herself. Not will take her temper away, be a rich kid or an adult.

She clear the tear that came down from one of her eye with her thumb and went back to her room.

Darrell was done with a meeting he had with some Chinese.

He got into his car, he wasn’t going home just yet, he wanna hang out with one of his friend. He told the driver to drive him to a beach. He had call his friend Cole awhile back, and his friend told him to meet him in a beach house.

” Gosh buddy how could you do this to me ” Cole said.

” Do what ” Darrell ask as he sip his wine.

” Not telling me earlier about your arrival, yesterday” he stated.

” Oops, sorry ” he said heading out his two ears like a child.

Cole saw that an laugh.

” You’re so funny buddy ” he said in between giggles.

” Am I ” he thr-st out his hand in a funny gesture, making him got another round of giggles.

” Gosh!! Men you’re so funny ” Cole grinned.

Darrell shrugged.

” So how’s Kelsey your girlfriend ” Darrell switch the topic, sipping a wine.

Cole let out a long deep sigh and Darrell didn’t miss is meaning.

” Don’t tell me you’ve broken up with this one,what happened ” Darrell asked.

Cole shrugged.

” Yeah ” he admitted.

Darrell sighed softly.

” So what happened” he enquired.

” Kelsey is a whimpering and never satisfied woman, she always want me to be here or there. I’ve grown tired of her” he explained and sighed.

” Jeez men I can’t even count the number of numerous breakup you had. I’d think you should watch out before getting into relationsh¡p. You also don’t love this one, you dated her just for fun. You can’t grow tired of just easily if you had love her. You keep getting into a relationsh¡p of no love, that why this happen ” Darrell pointed out.

” Hum, what about you, you were in a love relationsh¡p with Tanya but she broke your heart by cheating on you, remember ” Cole said more like in a mocking manner.

Darrell only smiled at him.

” I think another one is yet to replace the empty void Tanya had place in my heart. I think I’ve started to be in love again ” Darrell said.

Cole lifted a delicate brow.

” You’re in love again ” he ask with astonishment.

” Huh, am yet to acknowledge it soon. I just met her hours ago ” he said.

” Guy you gotta to be kidding me. You just met a lady some hours ago and you’re already in love ” Cole ask with utter bewilderment.

” Guess so ” he shrugged.

” Am a quick catcher and observant of what is happening in me and others. I can detected what am feeling right now. Since she pour that Ice cream in my shirt and the moment I raised my head I was locked into those beautiful hazel brown eyes of hers. I felt something ruining through me when I touched her hand, I wasn’t aware of it not until I’d got into the car and the picture of her face came into my mind . And after the meeting i thought about her , I also thought about her before I came here. Right now I can’t help but have the feeling to see her face once more. When Tanya and I broke up, my mind was only focus on business and now I feeling it slowly dividing to love and business ” Darrell said solemnly.

Cole slant him a glance.

” You’re always melodramatic and a day dreamer Darrell. You met someone some hours ago and you’re already dreaming of her ”

” I’ve told you am a quick guy, what take others half a year to realize, takes me minutes and hour to realize ” he blurted out, too sure of himself.

Darrell was the over confident one. He knew he have started to fall in love again, he had acknowledge his feelings, but not fully.

” And beside I’ve been in love before, so I know what love is, am not a novice, this particular one is love at first sight, am sure about it, as time goes I’ll fully acknowledge my feeling, it will grow ” Darrell said with such confident.

Cole knew he was so over confident about things, and he try to get what he wants, don’t get it wrong, he won’t take it by force if that thing he wants don’t belong to him.

” So who’s she ” Cole asked.

” She’s a maid in the house ” Darrell said and Cole lifted a surprise brow.

If Darrell and Cole don’t share the same thought of reason, Cole would’ve call Darrell all sort of foul names for him to mention a maid when he was a top ten billionaire.

” You love a maid ” Cole mutter.

” So ” he shrug with a pin gaze.

” Not bad , am just surprise after dating a weathly girl like Tanya, you’re now want a maid ” Cole said.

Darrell let out a sigh, he got Cole’s meaning.

” Listen I want a simple woman who I can rely on. The one who will love me and stay with me alone. The one who will see me as her man. Simple or not I don’t care. I want a woman with lively intelligence in her eyes and a promise of tenderness and passion in her. A woman who will dream with me and I dream with her too. Understand and trust shouldn’t be forgotten. All this is what I need in a woman. Not class those are not my thing ” he said with a serious expression.

” So you think this maid will able to do that, give you all you want ” Cole said without much conviction .

Darrell let out a sigh.

” Though I just met her hours ago, don’t even know her name , I won’t just fall head heels in love and forget to study her. If she had all this qualities I had mention, bet I will surely go for her and try win her heart at all cost ”

” What of if she loves another ”

” Simple she isn’t the one meant for me ”

” Though I don’t pray that should happen” he added and Cole thr-st at his wine glass he had long abandon in the table for a toast.

” Toast to the upcoming lover in town ”

Darrell chuckled at his statement.

” Toast to me ” he said thr-sting his wine glass forward.

Their laughter echo the wh0le atmosphere.

Amber seems to turn Natalie to her personal maid. She order her to bring a glass of water to her room, she did just that.

Natalie was holding the tray of glass of water, firmly, she trying her best not to slip and fall. Fiona was also coming to the same direction.

Fiona saw her coming and want to intimidate her for no reason. Of course it was her who got Ann curious to go to place she aren’t had to be and got her fired. For no reason she hate Natalie. she’s just a sadist.

She rushed to her and push her the tray and the glass of water fell from her hand and landed on the ground, the sound of splintering glasses echo the atmosphere, the tray noise worsen the wh0le situation. It did no justice.

Fiona rushed out of sight before Natalie could say anything. She disappear so quick.

Natalie gasped. Olivia, Amber and the twin brothers, even some maids had come to see everything that was going on due to the loud noise.

” Mum get this maid fired, she’s clumsy. She should be fired” Amber said to her mum.

Natalie shivered and yelps, she’ll die of heart attack if she got fired. No it can’t be all wasted, not now when her mum operation rely on her.

Olivia was also much annoyed like her daughter.

” You’re fired. Get your things out of here right now ” Olivia yelled at her.

Natalie could wish the world should end now.
