She's not certain if he wants the child and he might just say she should do as she wish like he said before. But she hope as he found out that the child was his he would've a change of mind. Then he stare at her grimly and wiggled his chair. " Tanya do you honestly believed you can blackmail me huh?" he asked in aloofly manner. Tanya was taking off guard was he about to tell her go ahead. This is the only way to get herself in his arm. " I won't let a sneaky lady like you blackmail me,never " he clenched his fist furiously. " Tanya ready your lawyer coz am gonna open a court case whereby the father is against the mother terminating the pregnancy let's see who will win " he said surprising her. Tanya sent one infuriating glance at him and angrily went away. Damn it,nothing is falling in her favor. She thought after getting ride of Natalie it will be easy to get Darrell. But the damn man his hard as a stone. Now she'll have to fight a court case and what if she looses and the court grant Darrell his wishes. She won't be able to get him. " Hello Mrs Lisa are you in your office ?" Darrell inquired over the phone. " Of course sir Darrell am here in the office. You're welcome anytime " she replied. " Expect me in some hours time. So your joke is off the rails " she rolled her eyes. " Hmm I guess so " he shrug. He notice her calm and happy expression and smiled to himself,seeing her happy makes him happy. She had only bleakness for a month now ,but after she found out about her pregnancy she as been happy. " Is nice to see you smile like this " he said. " I guess now I've a reason to smile. I'm becoming a mother " she said. " But still the father of the baby don't know. Are you not gonna contact him it as been a month. " Kris said seriously. Natalie smiled forlornly and sighed. " Something can't always be Kris. Tanya still got hold of my sister's privacy. That woman is very canning if I eventually tell Darrell and come back. She might decide to do something worst ,maybe killing my entire family. I can't loose them. And you know Tanya's his rich and she can't away with things. That why I have to sacrifice my happiness,and sadly Darrell's happiness too. But I hope he can be able to move on without me " she said and felt pained. Kris didn't say anything. He knew one-day fate will bring her and Darrell together. He was really sad seeing her go through a lot. He wants to help her but Natalie had reject any of his help he tried to offer. Now he'll have to rely on fate. Fate can be a bastard sometimes. It can separate people and later bring them back to them. " You can try to run away from the fact of life. But fate as the way of bringing things together " he said and quickly change the subject. " The pasta smell so nice. You're a good cook " he remarked. " Oh am flattered ,can you get your ass of this kitchen and await in the dining when the meal is ready " Natalie pretend to frowned. " Yes ma'am " he said in a solider salute and that made Natalie giggled. 🖤🖤 #Nighttime. Darrell was in the bathroom washing his face. He stare at himself in the mirror or he could see was sorrow in his eyes. " Oh Nat my love why did you left me. Look at situation you made me go through everyday. Everyday as been a living hell for me. I got drunk because that was the only way I could forget the pain I was feeling within. After Tanya took my weakness and helplessness for her benefits. I refuse to get drunk again and engage myself in works attending business meetings. But still the pain is there,it'll always be there .You've indeed wounded me. Oh Natalie why did you have to die..... He got no further coz the tears cloud his throat. He clammed down to the sink and wept. " Natalie why did you have to go " he felt the emotion draining out of him. He felt empty. " I just can't live without you. Look now I have to fight a case with Tanya. This is all your fault my dear " he said again and wept bitterly like a lost child. #Nine_months_later. Natalie was prepared to get to the hospital. The doctor said she might gave birth today or tomorrow. The pregnancy day wasn't certain so the doc had ask her to always come to the hospital. She just climb down from the stairs when she felt her water broke. She started having contractions immediately. She screamed in pain. " Ma'am are you alright " a female maid rushed to her. She couldn't answer another contractions came and she screamed louder this time. This was her first time of pregnancy she don't know this are painful it is was during childbirth. She knew it will be painful. So this was the pain they all go through. She screamed again and Kris was racing down the stairs while knotting his tie properly. " Dennis ready the car " he yelled. The maid and Kris held Natalie as she gently walked. She keep on screaming when the contractions came. *** " Now when I say push,you push " the doctor advice. " Now push " the doctor said. She pushed and screamed,breath ,push and scream again. They was a baby cry the doctor quickly handle over the baby to the nurse and ask Natalie to push again. Yes Natalie was gonna have twins because she had earlier went for sonogram and they found out she was gonna have twins. She push with all her might each time with a thunderous scream. The cry of another baby echo the atmosphere and she lazily closed her eyes and blink then open again. " Congratalutions ma'am. It a baby boy and a baby girl " the doctor announced and Natalie smiled weakily. She felt the joy of becoming a mother not for just one child but two. How happy she was. *** " So what are you gonna call them " Kris took the boy who was wide awake. The girl was sleeping in her crib. Natalie smiled. " In honour of the man who gave me this wonderful gift I shall call my baby boy Darrell " she said firmly. "Huh! Not bad " Kris grinned touching the baby cheek. " And because you've been a good friend indeed. You've been kind to me. Always there to solace me during my dark days. I don't know might happen to me if I didn't found you. I shall call my baby girl Kristen that similar to your name " Natalie smiled. " Oh am highly honoured " he said bowing head and Natalie and she chuckled. She stretch her hands forward indicating she needs the baby. Kris handle over the baby to her. She smiled at her baby. He got his father sky blues and his blond hair. " You look exactly like your dad " she smiled at the baby touching his cheek. But she was carried away. It would've been better if Darrell knew about the baby. He would've k-ss her on the forehead and pour how grateful he is for her to give him this wonderful gifts. " He also looks like me. He as been staying in my house lately. So he'll have my looks okay " Kris said pretending to be annoyed and Natalie laughed. #Two_weeks_later. Darrell was in the hospital with his family and also with Tanya's family. Tanya was gonna have her baby today. " Congratulations ,she as giving birth to a bouncing baby girl " the doctor announced. They were about going when the doctor stop them. " Please one by one. You might give the baby gems if all of you go in like that " he warned. They nodded. " Darrell is the father. So he'll go in first " Mrs Olivia said excitedly. Everyone was excited even Darrell. He was happy that he had become a parent. He needed someone to pour his love on and that is of his child. *** The baby look more of Tanya. He didn't have any specific qualities of Darrell. But still he loved the child. " So what shall we call her " Tanya asked weakly. He gave her a stare and quickly divert his attention to the baby. " I think Nora is a perfect name Darrell. What do you think? " " Of course " he agreed. Tanya was glad that Darrell at least allowed her to name the baby. She thought he would've reject the name. Darrell had one the case months ago. The court fell into his favour and they warned Tanya not to terminate the child and wait till she gave birth to the child first and when the child is a little older before she can open another case and fight for custody. If she terminate the pregnancy they'll be immediate consequences. Like spending sometime behind bars. So she agreed to wait. She will eventually blackmail Darrell someday again after the child is a little older. She so gonna use the child to get him. And she is sure this one will work this time. . .
