” Can you tell us what transpire between you and ms Luna ” Jesse lawyer name Byron questioned Grace

Grace was in the stand.
” Luna was my husband mistress, he brought her…….
He didn’t wait for her to finish her statement before ch¡pping in

” So that is why you decided to get her killer coz you wanted her away from your husband life ” he concluded.

Grace shook her head in a gesture of no.

” No, that is not true ” Grace snapped.

“let me finish ” Bryon half yell.

” Objection my lord my opponent here did not allow my client to finish her statement ” Grace lawyer Mr Jose cut in.
The judge nodded in agreement and turn to Mr Bryon and scold him to let her finish.

” So continue, we’re all at ears ” Mr Bryon shrug.

” Luna was my husband mistress, he brought her few days ago, I was in the kitchen some days back and Luna walk up to me”. So Grace continue her tale and also she talked about how Luna died.

“The knife you said, she try using in killing you, am sorry it can not be an evidence coz the knife got two fingerprints, and that is of Luna’s and yours” he gloat.

Grace looked at him stupefyingly and her heart ached. She was controlling back her tears.

The lawyer took a file, brought out a paper and handled it to the judge. The judge look at the knife and nodded.

“Am afraid this can’t be much evidence ms Grace ” the judge said.

A tear came to her eye, she clean the tear with her finger and sniffed.

Jose Grace lawyer stood up and requested for Jesse to come to the stand too, to be interrogated.
Jesse came to the stand and Mandy who sat where the audience sat was looking at him with anger.

“Can you tell us, why you had an affair outside your marriage ” he questioned.

“Objection my lord ” Bryon ch¡pped in.

” Objection over ruled ” the judge rebuked.

” You can continue mister Jose” he said to Jose.

” But that isn’t the question here. We are talking about how she murder , his affair with her. ” Mr Bryon cut in again.

” I have to start from somewhere, it best you let me ask my questions ” Mr Jose said.

“Order, order ” the judge commanded.

“Mr Bryon is not time for you to speak”the judge said.

” As I was saying can you tell us about your affair with ms Luna ” Jose ask Jesse.

He sighed softly and Grace and Mandy just stare at him with hatred. Waiting for him to outer nonsense from is stinking trash of a mouth.

” Grace and I had problems since we got married. There was no more love between us. I fell in love with someone else, I can’t tolerate are constant nagging, high demands. I eventually wanted a divorce from her. I let her stay in my house for some days coz she begged me that she don’t know where to go, I don’t know she had plans to kill Luna, if I had know I wouldn’t have let her stay” Jesse lied, he present the cook up story with a pathetic serious face.

Grace couldn’t believe what he was saying,she stare at him with stupefaction.

She was about speaking, but was sudden interrupted by Mandy outbursts.

“You f-cking damn liar, you were a beast, you an irresponsible man with, you have no regard and respect for women….. her husband Dace tried to subdue her.. But she continued.

” You’re a characterless hu….

” Order order ” the judge commanded.

“If you have anything to say, you can come to the stand to say it, you will be called, otherwise just remain silent as we proceed “the judge scold.

Mandy sat down as her husband cuddle her to his arms.

” shh darling ” he cooed her. Mandy take a look at her friend who was looking pale and weak.

Mandy prayed inwardly for Grace to be release they was no would evidence, she knows, but pray the case will come out in Grace favour.

” Okay, you said that you guys have a problem that why all this started” Mr Jose reminded and he nodded.

” okay, but did you see her killing Luna ” he questioned

“Yeah…. I di.. did ” he stuttered.

Tears was gushing down Grace’s eyes. It seems to her that Jesse wanted her to rot in jail for a crime she never commit..

” You said, you saw her, why didn’t you go for Luna’s rescue…. surely you must have tried to stop her from killing her,So the you just permit her to kill her ” Mr Jose question.

” I came home and I saw her fighting with Luna, it seems in the look of it she was trying to stab Luna and eventually she push Luna and her head landed on the cupboard knob “Jesse lied.

Jose smiled mysteriously.

” so you just stand there and watch it happen ” He said.

“No… no, it happen so fast. When I first saw them fighting I was shock and totally numb at the moment, I regain myself and at that time, her head as already hit the knob” Jesse continue his lies.

“And I recall Grace yelling’ I will kill you ‘…… Grace arched a brow full of tears.

” You just recall her saying it, why did she use recall it ” Jose pointed out, and Jesse gave him a confuse look. He study is confusion and smiled.

“People actually like speaking one thing at a time, when they are trying to come up with stories and you were doing the same” Jose stated and shrug.

“Ho… how , how” he stuttered.

Jose sighed and arched a brow.

” It because you did say all the words in one piece. You could have explain everything in a wh0le ” Jose blurted out

“That can change she killed Luna” Jesse half yelled.

“You want me to rot in a crime I didn’t commit. I can’t believe you lied about everything. Why didn’t tell everyone how you torment me, by beating me unnecessary for the last seven years and….

” order, order, only speak when you are ask to ” the Judge scold.
Grace couldn’t take it anymore, she started crying out not that loud.

After some time Mandy was call to talk, she didn’t have much to talk expect the when Jesse tried to burn her, Grace had explained it to her while she was in jail.

The Judge was about to announce his final verdict.
Mandy clutch to her husband, squeezing him coz the she knew the case as be lost to Jesse.
While, just look pale waiting for her fate. If it was to live in prison was her fate let it be.

” I have come to my final decision, Mrs Grace here don’t have a solid evidence to prove it was a self defense and her husband here claimed to have seen her trying to murder ms Luna. It is against the law to take law into your hands…. he pause for awhile, keeping people in anxiousness.

“You are hereby convicted for murder, you are guilt of your crime…. I hereby sentence you to 20year in prison with effective labour ” the Judge concluded.

“Court.. dismiss ”

Mandy let out a sharp cry and her husband was trying to comfort her.
They stood up and Mandy ran to Grace and gave her a tight hug.
They sobbed together.

“Am sorry I failed you, I couldn’t get you out ” Mandy blamed herself.

Grace clean her own tears and made a forlorn smile.

” This is my fate now, I have to accept it ” Grace remark.

” You don’t deserve this okay. Your f-cking husband supposed to be suffering for making you through pain…. twenty years is no joke and is not like twenty days, Many years will pass” Mandy stated and wept. Dace draw her to his arms and she sobbed in his arm.

Grace arched a brow and Jesse was still there.. When there eyes came in contact… Jesse quickly removed his eyes and walk away.

What a wicked man he was, had she know she would’ve left him long time ago. This wouldn’t have happen if she did

#Two_days_later

Grace was in jail and Mandy make sure she pay Grace a visit. Jesse never came, why would he uh.

She sat in the lock thinking how she was going to spent twenty years in jail. She cried her eyes out and eat less for the past few days.

She couldn’t take it any more, the thought of suicides came bursting in her head.
Her eyes caught a sharp broken object some centimeters away from her.
She was not alone in the prison, someone was with her.

Grace took the sharp broken object that looks like a bend mental, whatsoever and was about cutting her wrist, when the person in the bar yell.

” What the f-ck are you trying to kill yourself ” she yell.

Grace raised sorrowful eye balls and glance at her wrist again and cut it, before she could be stopped.
She started bleeding and she fell to the floor.
The lady gasped and started scre-ming for the cops to come.

They arrived and met Grace lying unconscious on the floor.
