I stood there speechless, my mouth opened but no words came out, just staring at her that i got carried away.
Mirabel: Hey! Aint U gon’ welcome me?
Me: Oh! Sorry,,, i just, just ughh…

Me: Yea sure… what about your guards?
Mirabel: Why? Will U kill me??

Mirabel: *Smiles* Just kidding,,, I left them to stay at home
Me: Why do U even have guards?
Mirabel: Are U gonna keep questioning me under the sun or U gon’ let me in?

Me: Welcome, to where I lay my head
Mirabel: Hhmm… nice place

Me: Well its Saturday, I did some cleaning

Me: Please seat… (ushering her to the plastic chair)

Me: Yea. I got yoghurt in the fridge, Care for some?
Mirabel: That won’t be necessary, I actually came with ah wine and some food,,, fried rice precisely, your favourite.
Hearing that, I got hungry instantly.
Me: How’d U know fried rice is my favourite?
Mirabel: *Smiles*
Me: Of course, who else if not Cynthia and Lola
Mirabel: Yea, they said U really love it, thats why I came with plenty of it.
Me: Hhmmm…. If I lay my hands on those friends of yours…
Mirabel: *Laughs* Don’t blame them, blame me. I was the one that sent them
Me: Really?
Mirabel: Yea, I’m in your house already, so… what U gon’ do to me?

Me: Well, luckily… U came as my visitor

I ate Indomie sha, I lied ‘coz I eat fried rice a lot no matter what, so… incase she sees me eating much, she’ll understand that I’m very hungry.
Mirabel: Ok, you’re hungry I’m hungry, food is here… lets eat
Me: Yea, we should.
She brought out the food from a big flask, she brought out the bottle of wine and something else…
Mirabel: Uhmm… I got this from the shop where I bought the wine on my way coming, thought U will like it
Wow! A gold wrist watch!!
Me: Woah… But U didn’t have to…
Mirabel: I know,,, but I couldn’t take my eyes off it when I saw it, I know it will suit U. Common, lets try it
She put it into my wrist
Mirabel: See? I told U, it really look good on U
Me: I really appreciate this, thank U very much.
Mirabel: U’re so welcome
There came a sudden loud silence, our eyes met, I caught her slowly licking her l-ips.
Me: Ok! Lets eat!!
Mirabel: Yea, lets eat
Me: Lemme get the plates
Mirabel: Ok, do that while I go get the wineglasses from the car
She went and get the glasses while I set the plates. She came back, looked at me somehow, she went to where I keep my utensils she then took a tray, dropped it on the floor. I was just looking at what she was doing. She opened the flask, full the tray with rice ignoring the plates on the floor.
Me: What are U doing?
Mirabel: Let’s eat from this… It will be fun
Me: Hhmm…
She filled the glass with wine. I don’t really enjoy eating rice with wine but with hollandia yoghurt.
Mirabel: Pray for the food, before we eat
After praying, we just hold our fork not touching the food, E dey my body to eat this food finish sha, but eh… E get as he be
Mirabel: What U waiting for?
Me: Nothing…
She just smiled and began eating…

I joined her eating slowly, the food too sweet that I didn’t know when I started eating the food in a rush.
She didn’t say anything, she’ll just look at me and smile.
After some minutes, she stopped eating, she sipped her wine then faced me directly.
What?! Now I’m very much uncomfortable… I start eating slowly but that one no fit make me leave the food sha, no way!
Me: U know,,,, this is delicious! U prepared it?
Mirabel: Yea
Me: It really tastes like the one your friends prepared for me the other day.
Mirabel: *Laughs*
Me: What’s funny?
Mirabel: Those ones that can’t even boil a simple water, I actually prepared the food that day
Me: Really?
Mirabel: Yea
Me: Wow! U’re really good
Mirabel: All thanks to my mummy and the cooks
Me: U have cooks at home?
Mirabel: No, uhmmm… I meant cooks, U know like food my mummy prepare.
Me: Ok, I understand. She must be great
Mirabel: U can say that again. Go on keep eating or are U’re Ok
Ok for where?
Me: No, not yet
I continued eating, getting more comfortable.
I retired after eating almost all the food in the tray before I got full. I took my wine and drank it all at once.
Me: Thanks for the food, I really enjoyed it
Mirabel: Thanks for eating, I really like how U enjoyed it
We both smile
Mirabel: Lemme wash this… (holding the tray)
Me: Noo,,, I will do it (grabbing her hand)
On grabbing her hands, we both stayed still then slowly raising up our heads to face each other. We stared at each for few seconds, our faces getting closer bit by bit… we opened our l-ips to k-ss before.… someone from outside came knocking.
Intruder: Where that ba$tard?!
Episode 17
I heard someone from outside knocking on my door, I recognize the voice.
Titus: Where that ba$tard?!
They didn’t wait for me to tell to come in or not, they just barged in.
Titus: Guy put game for person jare, see your stu… (seeing Mirabel) babe even dey here no wonder, babe howfa… (opened my fridge and took two yoghurts out) Guy, yoghurt no dey finish for your fridge oh…
I was just looking at the ba$tard, he shared my yoghurts with the other ba$tard that accepted it without hesitation. A tear almost dropped from my eyes, these guys aint good at all. They didn’t respect me or the fact I’m with someone. Mirabel’s presence couldn’t make say or do anything, I just kept my coolness. All this while,,, Mirabel was looking surprised if not shocked, seeing what my so-called guys were doing.
They switched on my light then switched off the cool music that was playing just to play P.S (Video game). After fixing it, Titus turned to me…
Titus: Guy U go play?
I didn’t say nothing, I only shook my head with that gesture that means no.
Titus: Wait o…. Na Mirabel be this?
Mirabel: Hi
Titus: Hiii… how duin? (The idiot started using phonetics)
Mirabel: I’m fine… how do u do?
Titus: Am good Am good (offering her his filthy hands) I’m Titus, What can I call U pretty one?
Mirabel: Mirabel (offering her hands)
Titus: Woah… pretty name for ah gorgeous breath taking lady (k-ssed her hand)

Me: **Coughs** Ok, enough of the introduction…
Titus: (Ignored me) So… what are u doing here? Lets go outside and talk more u know…

Mirabel: Actually, I’m about leaving

Me: **Interrupted the idiot** Lets go dear
She stood up, I took her hand and walked out with her with a Not-Cool face.
Mirabel: **Smiling ** wow, your friend is really rom-ntic.
Me: Yea
Mirabel: Are U Ok?
Me: Yea, sure. Why?
Mirabel: U look disturbed
Me: Nah… I’m fine

She ignored me, I saw tears dripping from her eyes. She got in then zoomed off leaving me.
With rage and anger, I got in to my room.

They left, I tried calling Mirabel 3 times but she didn’t pick up. Now Mirabel is mad at me, stupid guys!! Msteeew… Sh!t.
Episode 18
The past hours has been so boring for me ,,, worst thing no light, just thinking and thinking about how to go with all the sh!t that happened today. There is need to apply wisdom in this, Am I even wise? They say the best comes out from someone in a rough situation. Well, me I’m naturally stubborn, I find it difficult to admit that I’m wrong and need to apologize. As it is right now, I dunno how to meet Mirabel and start apologizing. Apologize for what? What did I even do??
I know she’s done a lot for me already but,,, I appreciate tinz and I f√ckin hate tinz. I thought I Love her but….. F√ck Love mehn!! Maybe ‘coz I dunno much about it. I like her though, she’s good and d–n hot,,, but I can’t beg na… No!

I can’t go to Church today so,,, I just stayed at home. No friends, no one to talk to, no girlfriend, what a day!
I tried to play my video game but its boring… I can’t social network that moment ‘coz I felt like, I hate everyone. It would be of no use in calling Promzy ‘Coz she must be in the Church right now, she doesn’t miss that for no reason. And I’ve disowned my semi-friends, its only yoghurt I got right now.
I ate one indomie noodles and drank two yoghurt and slept off instantly.
I woke up feeling lazy, disturbed and unhappy. I felt like taking a walk but its sunny and the hot weather is not conducive for reading. That moment, I felt like disappearing from the surface of the earth and never came back. This new me is not helping at all… I thought it was the best thing to do but it doesn’t seem so, I’m going crazy…. Arrghh!!
Night finally came after waiting for like 4 years, I took a long walk to my favorite suya s₱0t, I bought #500 suya and a medium sized hollandia yoghurt. That’s what I ate and drank whenever I’m down or having some money.
I don’t watch football but I did that night, I went to the nearby football house to watch thinking that, it might probably be lively due to the presence of people and their discussions but I didn’t even wait till it ends before I left there ‘Coz of the noise. On going home, I walked passed a brothel. One thing in me wanted me to go there but the other don’t want me to… after much mind-argument, the other mind overcame the situation and I continued walking home.
I walked pass a bar, there was music and dancing there, the place was full of life. It interested me, I didn’t wait for my mind to play tricks on me so… I went there.
The happenings there impressed me so much that I ordered for a beer, even though its been a while since I last drank it. The bar-man brought it and opened it up when I didn’t ask him to do so. I hesitated in drinking it ‘coz I was enjoying the dances I was seeing, it was tempting though but hey…Its fun, I’m having fun which matters most to me that moment. Moving my eyes around the place, there I sited a fair lady staring at me. She winked at me when my eyes met hers but she was seated in the middle of five guys in black actually. She kept staring and smiling at me which made the guys turned their face towards me. I didn’t do nothing, I started feeling uncomfortable and uneasy. I was thinking of what to do then I realized that I don’t have money on me. I forgot that I already spent the money on suya and yoghurt sh!t wich kin life na… I raised my head up to face the lady that’s been staring at me all this while in front of me.
Lady: Hi
Me: Hi
Lady: Having a good time huh?
Me: Yea,,, I guess
Lady: Wanna dance? Or maybe hang out?
Me: Errrmm…
Before I could make a decision, a fierce looking guy one of those she was seated with came uninvited…
Guy: Stand up and take a walk (referring to me)
Me: **Silent**
Guy: I’m talking to U f√cker!! (Kicking the chair I seated on)
Me: Why?
Guy: What?!
Me: Why should I leave?
Guy: Are U new here?
Me: Who wants to know?
Guy2: E be like say this guy need arranging, Cap how U see ‘am?
Guy: (To Guy2) Wait first… (To Me) U are questioning me with question? Are U that dumb to realize what’s going on here?? Huh???
Me: I dunno what else is going here rather than some buzzing insects that needs to be insecticide
Guy: By that, I hope U’re not referring to me?
Me: Are U that naive that U can’t understand words?
Guy2: Cap!!
Guy: (He gestured his hand to him meaning wait or stop) Watch your tongue bro, watch it
Even though I changed my ways, there are so many sh!t that I can’t take… I haven’t even sipped my bottle yet this ba$tard is telling me to leave. For what? Is it ‘Coz of their girl seating with with me?? I don’t care!! I’m too stubborn to allow anybody within my age-group to influence my behaviour No way!!
Me: You’re interrupting my peace

Me: Do I need to spell it out for U?
He couldn’t say anything again, he looked at me from head down to my toe…
Guy: Why are U wearing that red bangle?
Me: What do U think?
Guy: Hhmmm… are U here alone?
Me: What is it to U?
Guy: Nothing bro,,, just nothing, enjoy yourself (Getting up)

Guy: Shut up! U dey craze?? U wan put me for another problem with them??
They left grabbing the girl out of the bar. Good thing I wasn’t high yet, if not… fight for happen ah swear.

Done for the day’s lecture as we had only one because other Lecturers are through with theirs. I tried to meet Mirabel in the class after the lecture but she stood up on seeing me and went outside. Promise didn’t come to school and I dunno why, I’d call her later.
I went outside, I saw Mirabel seating in one corner,,, one mind made me to make another move which I did but she stood up and left the School entirely. Mehn… this is another sh!t I can’t take. She ignored my calls and avoided me when she saw me. I respect girls but they should respect their self first.
I left school and got home, I called Promise to ask her what happened,,, fortunately, she’s well. She didn’t came to school ‘coz she knew there was nothing much to do and attendance doesn’t matter anymore.
**Knock on my door **
Me: Who is it?
(Silent)

(Silent)

I got up to check who it was but there wasn’t any h0le on the door for me to peep through…
Me: Who’s there?
Voice: Open up
It’s a lady’s voice, but I couldn’t remember whose…
I opened the door and met face to face with two familiar daughters of eve, Cynthia and Lola…. Mirabel’s friends.
I didn’t say nothing, I just stood in front of my door looking at them while they stood beside their car facing me.
Lola: Come with us (with a straight face)
Me: And why should I do that?
Cynthia: I will go if I were u
Me: Well,,, U are not me and U just can’t come to my place and tell me to go out with U just like that. How would I know if U guys don’t plan to trick me again or something.
Lola: Why do U think so?
Me: Because, U guys did it before and judging from how U guys knocked my door which looks like a prank made me think so.
Cynthia: U should follow us If U love and care for Mirabel…
Me: Why’s that? What happened to her?? Is she Ok??
Cynthia: Relax nothing has happened to her yet, but we fear that something might happen to her if nothing is done …lets go somewhere to talk
Me: I prefer U tell me here and now
They looked at each other for a few seconds then nodded at each other in agreement

They walked towards me, I opened the door wide for them to go in.
Me: Please tell me now, whats wrong with her?
Cynthia: Do U really care for her?
Me: Of course I do
Cynthia: Do U love her?
Me: Huh? Uhmmm…. please tell me what this is all about
Lola: She’s been down for the past few days now. She barely eat or go out with us
Cynthia: She tells us everything but doesn’t want to tell us what’s wrong with her now.
Lola: She looks heartbroken but she never told us that U guys started dating already, what do U think is wrong with her?
Me: Hhmmm…. this is serious
Lola: And apart from U, Cynthia and I,,, she don’t have any other friends
Cynthia: Are U guys dating already?.
Me: No,,, not at all, no. She’s been avoiding as well. I dunno why but she left here angry the other day. I tried to make it up to her and to know why She’s mad at me but she always leaves whenever she sees me coming to her
Cynthia: Are U sure that U didn’t know what U did?
Me: Well, none that I know of
Lola: Hope U didn’t tried to have s€x with her ‘coz she hates it
Cynthia: Lola!

When I said guys I mean, minister’s sons, sons of commissioners, senators sons etcetera… even many popular musicians in the country has tried but she declined without a second thought… come on! loosen up, U aint a p√ssy but U’re so tight!
Cynthia: Lola!!
Lola: This is so annoying Cynthia, he’s too nice. I bet he’s never hit it before, dunno how he got that hot and s€×y body, aish!
I was shirtless, and She’s been staring at me stylishly all this while. I never hit before abi? Iffa jam u, u go know (In flavour’s voice)

Cynthia: Good, we should be going now
Me: Not so fast, I haven’t entertain U guys yet
Lola: Too late, U should’ve thought about that before now
Me: But its not my fault na, U guys got me worried about what U wanted to say about Mirabel,,, that’s why I forgot
Lola: Well, all the same,,, we didn’t come here for a visit
Cynthia: Yes Victor,.we didn’t come here for a visit
Me: Hhmmm…. What about some hollandia yoghurt in the fridge?
Cynthia: Maybe some other time Victor…
Me: Okayy…
I walked them out to their car…
Cynthia: Where’s your car?
Me: Huh? My car??
Lola: The ranger roger Mirabel gave U na
Me: Oh! I parked it in there (pointing at Mr. Abuh’s house) for security reasons
Lola: Hope U haven’t sold it?
Cynthia: Lola!!
Wait oh… wetin dey worry that girl sef, her own don dey too much for me to take oh…
Lola: Just saying… geez! (Walked into the car)
Cynthia: Don’t mind her, she’s like that
Me: Its Ok (E no ok at all)
Cynthia: Bye…
Me: Bye.
She hugs me then they zoomed off…
I don’t really understand what they meant by ‘Your car’ and ‘Mirabel gave U’ but, she rented it for me na.
Episode 20
I got in,side, grabbed a yoghurt from the fridge then sat on my bed to reason things.
Wow! Sons of prominent men in the country? Those ashawo musicians?? All want to woo Mirabel???
**Sips**
And she’s like trying to woo me?
What am doing?? what am I waiting for???
**Sips**
The most important thing is that, she loves me, so … what else is keeping me? Today I talk to her, tell her how I feel and how I appreciate her…
**Finished the yoghurt**
I got myself ready, I refused to take the car so I took a bike and left for Mirabel’s.
I dropped in front of the gate, paid the bike guy…
Bike man: Oga U dey enjoy oh…
Me: How u mean?
Bike man: U dey nyansh those rich fine fine girls wey dey in,side, U dey enjoy oh…
Me: (laughs) I no know for U oh…
Bike man: Haba! Find your guy something beta nau… we wey no get the opportunity to even touch the gate talkless of… kai mai gida! U get luck oh…
Me: Make U no go work, dey here dey talk talk… take jare
I gave him ×3 of his charge
Bike man: Ye wa… nagode,,, thank U bery much
Me: Ya yi, san nu… (its ok)
Bike man: Ka na jin hausa? (U understand hausa)
Me: Awo… ka je aiki dan Allah (Yes… go to work I beg U to God)
Bike man: Oga! Byee Byee, thank U bery much
Me: Eh hen… bye…
Bike man: Small small oh…
He said while zooming off, yeye guy.
I knocked on the giant gate, the security gateman came out…
Security: Who are U looking for?
Come see where gateman dey speak phonetic
Me: I’m looking for Mirabel
Security: U? Looking for Mirabel??
Me: Yes
Security: Why are U looking for her?
Me: (provoked) Are U her personal guard? Why the question??
Security: For Security reasons
Me: Do I look like a terrorist or a kidnapper?
Security: Its Ok… just doing my job. Lemme go and inform her
Me: Alright…
He closed the gate leaving me outside. The gate opened again after some minutes but the opener was who I don’t like to see. It was Frank, her male bodyguard.
Frank: She don’t want to see U, just leave…
Before I could open my mouth, he slammed the gate.
That guy is really annoying, I don’t like him at all…
Now what do I do?
I thought of something when I walked a few steps about to head home.
I called Cynthia…
Me: Hello Cynthia?
Cynthia: Hi Victor
Me: Are U at home?
Cynthia: Yes, why?
Me: I’m at the gate
Cynthia: Wow! Come in na
Me: I tried but Mirabel’s guard wouldn’t let me. He said she doesn’t want to see me.
Cynthia: Oh… give me a few minutes, I know what to do
Me: Really?
Cynthia: Yea, just wait there ok?
Me: Ok
I waited for like 15 minutes before she finally came out.
Cynthia: Alright Victor, just go straight to my house, Mirabel is there already. Lola and I will be outside so… take your time
Me: Thanks a lot Cynthia
Cynthia: No, I should be thanking U. Just go go go go go… no need to knock, just go in ok? (pushing me in)
I got in, went to Lola and Cynthia’s house… and slowly walked in without knocking. I saw Mirabel laid on the sofa.
She looked shocked as she slowly raise herself from the chair to seat…
I didn’t say nothing, I slowly walked towards her, squat in front of her, then held her two hands.
Me: Mirabel,,, I know I’ve been on a distance, I know that I’ve wronged U, I know U don’t deserve my negligence, I know been acting weird and mischievous, I know I’ve bee…
Mirabel: Victor…
Me: Shhhhh….
I don’t want her to say anything yet
Me: U see… Mirabel, I dunno if I acted blind or I was so naive to realize how much U care for me but to tell U the truth… I really appreciate everything U did for me, the love, the care, the kindness and the extra love that you’ve shown me…
I looked at her, I saw tears dripping down from her eyes yet she was some how smiling…
