Darius POV

“Kira..”

I called out to Kira when i walked Into the house but no one response

“Kira..”

I checked her room but she wasn’t there neither was she anywhere in the house

“Kira! Kira!”

I checked the beautiful garden Kira had set up a month ago with her powers but she wasn’t sitting next to her favorite flower pot like she used to. Where did she go to? There was no other place she could be right now aside our home during this time. I ran for about an hour making my way back to the old mansion but Kira wasn’t in there. My heartbeat accelerated… Did someone come in here to take her away? I only went scanning the area beyond behind our home which was the old resident of the other Fae. I had suggested to Kira to come with me but she had refused, saying she needed to have a good rest. Another location popped into my mind – the pool! I ran at a high speed back to our home and checked if Kira was back in the house but she wasn’t…then I made my way to the pool which Kira had created for herself where she used to stay in the evening. Kira was getting used to this place and over few weeks she had learnt how to use some of her powers properly. Finally I got to the pool and I sighed with relief when I saw Kira sitting by the pool with her legs in the water

“Kira”

I called at her but she didn’t respond. Kira was lost in thought as she stared into space. I removed my leather boot and settled beside her. I rubbed my palm straight in her face then she jerked back to life.

“Darius..”

She said in a low tone

“When did you get here?”

“Just now after I searched the wh0le area”

“I’m sorry about that”

“No it okay”

She nodded slowly

“What are you thinking?”

“Huh??”

“I called your name when I got here but you were too deep in thought that you didn’t know I was beside you. Is something wrong Kira?”

I flicked her hair behind her ear

“Everything is fine”

Kira replied as she fiddled with her fingers

“Lemme guess you are thinking of him again?”

“Who?”

She glanced at me

“The red mage of course.. max”

Then She rolled her eyes

“It not about him Darius”

Her gaze dropped back on her fingers

“Missing home then”

She nodded negatively but I knew that was the main reason for her thinking. I let out a loud sigh. Kira never talked about missing home ever since we got here probably because she feared that another demi god will appear out of no where,deceive her by using one of her parents appearance and try to take her away…

“It fine if you tell me that you are missing home…I won’t scold you for that and look around Kira…no one is coming here to take you away okay?”

“Even if I say yes will that change anything…will I go back to my family?..”

She said shakily then I noticed the sting of tears at the corner of her eyes but then she looked away quickly to hide them from me

“Let’s go in,side”

I stood at my full height and stretched my hand out to her to help her up but Kira only stared at me with the hidden tears now dropping down her cheeks she just wiped it away immediately

“I still want to stay out here for a while”

“It getting late Kira”

“No..”

I crouched down and carried her out of the water In a quick movement. Kira held me tightly with her eyes wide

“Are you okay?”

“You should have informed me you were going to do that…”

“What?”

“Carrying me suddenly”

“I had to…or else you won’t give in”

“Whatever”

“Good?”

“Yes I’m fine”

“Then let’s go home”

I ran back home. Pushed the door with my foot and walked in

“Put me down Darius”

I placed her gently on the couch

“Don’t move an inch..I’ll be right back”

I dashed Into her room. I came back with a water in a bowl,a hand towel and a hairbrush

“What do you wanna use this for?..I mean what are you doing?”

“Just stay calm”

I soaked the towel in the bowl and squeezed out the water. Kira held my wrist when I was about to mop her face with the towel

“I can take a shower instead of you mopping my body… It not as if I’m crippled”

She eyed me

“Not your wh0le body Kira just your face”

“But why are you doing all this?”

“You miss home right?”

She nodded

“Then stop asking me questions and let me take care of you”

Kira let go of my wrist. I mopped her face clean before settling down beside her

“Turn and let me fix your hair”

I motioned for Kira to turn her back to me. This time she did as I instructed without questions. She turned and let me take her braid down. I ran my fingers through her hair before reaching out for he hairbrush. When I was done brushing I quickly did a tight new braid that dropped down her back

“Now we are done with that”

“Darius..”

She touched her braid

“How did you manage to braid?”

“I will tell you that later”

I replied and pushed my cellphone into her hands

“What should I do with your phone Darius?”

“Call your family”

I picked up the stuffs on the table and was about leaving when kira said

“Thank you”

I didn’t turn back to look at her instead I walked away. I had to give her a chance to call her family cause I can’t risk Kira hurting herself because she missed her family. Kira is an obedient girl and she is willing to protect herself and family especially. I had dropped my phone where Kira could easily take it and call her family behind my back or even try to connect to them with her powers but she never did any of that. Then I figured Kira was once again scared of connecting to her family thinking the King who her might go after her family or even have a feeling of what she was doing. And that something I should be more concerned about…I just hope the King won’t go after her family just to know where she is. I walked back into the sitting room few seconds later after dropping off the stuffs I picked from Kira’s room. I sat on the tool in,side the bar Kira had created for me as a gift for protecting her. I poured whiskey into a glass…gunny drinking a magical whiskey but it still tastes the same…Kora was still trying to connect with her family through Video call

Alec POV

I turned off the shower, grabbed a towel, wrapped it around my wa-ist before stepping out of the bathroom. I heard a soft ping when I stepped Into the room and I traced it to Amy’s dressing table..It was her Cellphone. “Unknown” was displayed on the screen

“Honey your phone is ringing

I said loudly but got no response. I can’t possibly go into the kitchen with a unclad chest and towel around my wa-ist cause Lana was here in our house. I quickly grab a top and a short before heading to the kitchen but Amy wasn’t there. I made my way to the sitting room where I saw she and Lana watching TV

” I have been calling out to you in the room..your phone is ringing”

“Oh I’m sorry Honeybunch”

She collected the phone

“It an unknown number video calling me”

“Don’t you remember giving your number to anyone?”

“You know me too well Alec..I don’t give my number to just anybody”

The phone stopped ringing

“Mom it dangerous picking Unknown numbers these days…it might be a scam calling you”

Lana said to Amy

“Why one earth would an unknown person try to video call me?”

Amy said asking no one in particular

“Maybe it a wrong number then”

I said to Amy

“Yeah Mom, maybe the person pressed the wrongs pins”

Lana added

“No one is picking up?”

Kira nodded slowly as she held the phone to her chest

“Who did you call?”

“My mom”

“Why don’t you try calling your dad or your brother?

” their lines are switched off”

“Call your best friend then”

“I am not sure of her number… I’m always missing out a Number or two”

She replied honestly

“You can continue calling your mom till she picks up”

“Uhmmm..she won’t pick u”

She replied in a sad tone

“Why?”

“It not a saved number or any number she is familiar with”

“So she doesn’t pick up unknown number?”

“Yes”

“Seen a message to her and tell her it you”

Without wasting much time Kira typed on my phone and stopped

“Have you done that?”

“Yes I’ve sent it”

“Okay”

HUNTER HOME

Amy POV

My phone pinged again after I dropped it on my lap. A message displayed on the screen from the same line I had rejected the call. I clicked and opened the message then my eyes w¡dened in shock and surprise after I saw the content of the message

“Good Day mom,

How have you been?

So sorry I’m just reaching out to you guys

Please pick up your video call,I do like to see your faces

From Kira”

Then it ended..the message was from Kira!

“Are you okay?”

Alec and kana can to my side

“Kira..kira..kira is alive!’

I scre-med happily

“What?”

Alec snatched the phone and read the message

“My baby is alive..”

A tear dropped down my cheek

“We should call her so we can be sure if it was Kira who sent this message”

Alec suggested

“Yes..yes you are right”

Alec dialed the number

“Is it connecting?”

I asked anxiously

“Yes Hun”

Alec sat on my righy side while Lana picked the left side as we all waited for Kira to pick up

ZONDAEL MOUNTAIN

Kira was now pacing to and fro waiting for her parents to call back

“Just relax Kira they will call back”

“But what if they think it a scam..I mean my parents are sensitive they might be thinking the message is from scam who wants to extort from them..what if they decide not to pick because of that”

“Sh sh sh”

I went to her and placed my hands on her shoulder

“I’m sure your family must have been expecting a call from you. They will call back as soon as they get the message so just relax..and remember you have to assure them that you are doing fine out here.. Don’t let them think you are suffering here okay?”

“Yes”

She nodded and gave me a small smile. The phone pinged

“They are calling Darius?”

I led her back to the couch

“Relax and pick it up”

Kira swiped and the call got connected

“Kira!”

I heard Kira’s family scre-med over the phone as I settled in the couch opposite hers.
