Myles’s car came to a halt at the school’s packing lot. He grabbed his backpack and made his way to the assembly.
There wasn’t much to do for that day. Exams were finished, the boys engaged in some sports. The girls were always the girls, everyone of them hang around discussing about a thing or the other. Most especially, boys.
The hot boys+the nerdy ones. The shy ones amongst them that were trying to woo them. They giggled at some remarks.
Under the well prunned almond tree in the school premises. Charlotte sat down in a moody state. she didn’t notice when Myles sat down beside her.
“hey beautiful ”he called out. She was startled.
“hey Myles”she said as she let out a wry smile and stood uup to move away but she was stopped by Myles.
“Charlotte do I look like shit to you? Why are you always running away from me? ”he voiced in pain.
She turned to him and she could make out the feeling in his eyes. At that instant she felt guilty for behaving awkwardly towards him, she could swear that that moment was the first she stood with the hottie more than 30 seconds.
She sighed. It was evident that she was guilty and confused.
“not really Richærd but… ”she was saying but he interrupted.
“wait, you know my middle name?”he gasped.
She was suddenly shy. “yeah”she nodded.
He was awed. No one apart from his dad and sister has ever called him by his middle name and this was surprising to him.
“you ain’t shit to me but a handsome dude”she blurted before she could control herself.
Myles’s eyes w¡dened in shock.
“wait,did you just say I am… ”
“handsome yeah but there are somethings that should be avoided ”she said.
Myles was confused.
“I’m sorry about that ”she said when she saw a look of confusion on Myles’s face.
“like… Actually… Uhmm, I’d love if we could yunno talk better over a plate of ch¡ps ”he pushed his luck as he tried to form the right words.
“Myles I’m really sorry but… ”she was cut off by the ringing of her phone. She picked the call.
“what? ”she gasped in shock.
Myles was more than confused again.
She stared at her phone screen in fright as she faced Myles.
“Myles I’m sorry but I gotta meet my dad, my attention is highly needed”she said as she zoomed out of sight.
He was confused and felt like crying. Just the very first lucky time for him he was disturbed by a phone call. How he had wished that she stayed for some minutes more. His heart ached.

The car pulled over at the driveway. Charlotte hopped down hastily as she took long strides up the door porch. She verified her entrance by the door scanner.
Her dad was backing her as she walked in.
She paused as she walked slowly.
“dad”she called with her heart in Her mouth.
The averagely well built man turned around. His eyes red from fury.
“I told you. don’t have anything to do with that boy”he thundered.
“dad”she cried.
“you see Him, Run. Don’t spend a minute with him”he roared.
“he is the son of my enemy. Son of a traitor ”he yelled in anger.
“dad, I wasn’t… ”
“don’t you dare Charlie, he was with you”he cautioned her act of protest.
She was shocked. How did he know she was with him.
“listen and listen good. If you don’t want me to do the unexpected stay away from him. He’s the son of your enemy”he stated. He barged out.
She was dazed,nope! Perplexed.

Myles was not feeling alright anymore after that slight chance of talking with his heart’s angel. He was annoyed and cursed her father for interrupting him.
A warm hand rested on his shoulder. He turned around and he was met with a pair of enchanting brown eyes.
“hey Myles ”the feminine voice cooed.
“hey Lauren ”he said as he stylishly shrugged her hand off his shoulder.
She was beautiful yeah she was. He knew but he never felt a thing for her but she was pushing her self on him. She was the school cheerleaders head.
“how about we hang out after school? ”she said as she tried miserably in sed-cing him to oblige to her request.
He scoffed. “stay away from me. I don’t do your level ”he snapped suddenly as she was shocked.
His head was filled to the brim and he had to vent the flames somewhere.
“Lauren, stop sed-cing me cos i ain’t falling soon, go find your type Cos I ain’t ready for shits and spits like you ”he said with a dangerously calm voice.
With that he walked away leaving her in utter shock..
she was embarrassed.
The siren rung for closure and he walked to the library for his scheduled talk with his friend. On getting there he met him sitted already.
“Manny, you look dull”he voiced even though he was the one with the dullest facial expression.
“Uh? ”Wallace raised a brow.
“no tell me bro, what happened? ”
“can you believe what the fool said today? ”he said.
Myles c*cked his brow in a questioning manner…
