THE SCAR THAT MADE HIM BEAUTIFUL
(betrayed and accused)

‘Freewheelin ‘ by Jack Wins boomed out of the car stereo as Myles handled the wheels. Wallace was nodding and humming along with the song as they were lost in the euphoria of the moment.
The tyres of the car skidding across the well tarred road of the city as both boys made for the resort which was situated at the southern end of the city, near a beach.
Few minutes later, the car came to a halt in the parking lot of D AUSTIN RESORT, it had a restaurant attached to it, a large one then few lodges for faraway customers who were visiting for the first time.
Both boys got down from the car and made for the reception. Not that they wanted to eat or drink but just that they wanted to strategize on napping the threat against them.
“goodday,welcome to D AUSTIN RESORT”the receptionist said all smiles yet professionally.
“yes goodday, we uhm… New customers and we uh… Yunno”Myles stammered.
The receptionist smiled. “uh! there’s nothing to say but we’d love to entertain you to the fullest, we’ve got the beach hangout, restaurant with the sumptous meals and our bar is ranked highly”the receptionist said.
The boys nodded.
“what are your names….? ”
“uhm, I’m Myles Osborne and this is Wallace Stevens “Myles replied.
“wait! Mr Andrew Osborne’s son? “she asked.
“yes,you are right “he affirmed.
“wow! We are honoured to have you here. Welcome once again “she replied after she jotted down their names.
Afterwards, she slipped out a pack of colourful cards and placed them on the desk.
“uhm… We are on a promo stuff… Our regular customers at the end of three months gets an award of honour from us”she said.
“… And I’d love it if you patronize us well”she said.
“we sure will. Thanks for the info Ms “Wallace said.
“Dora is better Wallace”
“uh, ok”
“so… You’d want the cards? “she asked.
“very well! “both boys nodded as she stretched forth two cards to them. They collected it and smiled at her.
“thanks so much Ms Dora “Myles said cutely.
“it’s nothing, welcome once again”she said.
“yes thanks”Wallace said.
“do have a nice time handsome boys”Dora said cutely and with pure admiration at both boys with a charming smile.
They nodded whilst returning the smile.
They made for the bar area.
They sighted an empty space and made for it as they sat down.
“uh-huh, that was damn! “Wallace sighed.
Myles chuckled.
“so, let’s get down to business buddy…”Myles said.
“yes let’s do it. Lately, I’ve been having a tough conversation with my inner man and… ”
“goodday, what would you love to have”a waiter cut in.
“uhm, a bottled water will be enough for now”Myles said. “oh, and your partner? “he asked further.
“the same thing”Wallace said.
“okay”the waiter replied as he exited and the boys resumed their discussion.

Osborne home :
“dad, I wanna go shopping for new dresses”Ariana said as she came down the stairs dressed gorgeously in a figure hugging long red gown with an Asian golden sandal to match.
“don’t stay to long Ari “Mr Osborne said from where he sat.
“sure dad”she replied as she walked out.
The sound of an ignited car was heard as she drove put in her black sedan.
Mr Osborne sighed as he resumed reading a political magazine. He grabbed a glass cup filled with water as he gulped down some quantity. He resumed reading but suddenly, he paused as a feeling of insecurity clouded him.
He looked up only to behold a terror.
A pistol and a gloved hand was stretched at him. He gasped. Something hit his head as he passed out.

Charlotte sat down on her bed as she continuously fiddled with her fingers. Obviously, she had skipped school that day as her mind was lost and wandered off in various direction as she was lost in the thought of what her father said made her disturbed.
Why did he detest ever gentle and cute Myles?
Why was she monitoring her movements?
Who was his informant?
She pondered on all this as she sighed deeply.
The hooting of a car geared her awake from her thoughts as she rose up and proceeded to the window as she drew the curtain sideways and looked at the car.
It was obvious that she knew whoever it was as her face was scrunched up in confusion and uncomfortability.
She instantly dived to her wardrobe to change to a more attractive dress meant for outings.

“… So, we work with the plan and see how it goes”Myles said with finality noted in his tone.
“thanks alot bro, I’m really indebted to you”Wallace said with a broad smile.
“what are friends for buddy, it’s nothing”Myles said.
Wallace smiled.
Myles’s phone rang out loud as they shifted their attention to it.
“Ariana? “Myles said quite shocked.
“come on pick it up “Wallace said.
Myles sighed as he swiped the receiver icon.
“hey Sis… ”
“Myles, dad has been abducted “Alberta’s voice rang from the other end.
“what?!”Myles yelled in shock.
“I’m coming right away”he added as he hurriedly stood up and made for the exit of the bar with Wallace trailing behind him with confusion vivid on his face.
“come on man, tell me Whatsup “Wallace said distraughtly as both boys stood beside Myles’s car.
“dad… Ari said, dad was abducted “he broke the news.
“what? come on let’s get home on time”he said aloud as both boys dived into the car with Myles speeding off.
