📚Chapter Thirty Two📚

🌀🌀LINCOLN POV

“Darling?”.I asked surprised and she nodded with a bashful smile.

“Isn’t it a great name? I overheard a girl calling a guy that so I thought of calling you that too though I kind of though you may not like it”.She said,giving me her usual innocent look.

“I…I like the name,it’s perfect”.I stammered.

“Well I love calling you Lin,I don’t like darling so I will stick to Lin”.She said and I nodded,handling her the polyethylene.

“I bought this for you,I hope you like it”.I said and watched her take a bite from the cracker.

“Thanks,I love it.Crackers and cheese are my favorite snacks”.She said as she ate.

“Okay,I will go freshen up before preparing dinner”.I said and walked to my room.

I bathed and changed into a blue pajama before walking to the kitchen and of course,Belle was there waiting for me.

“So,what are you going to prepare for dinner?”.She asked gently as if counting her words.

“Scrambled eggs”.I answered her.

“Eggs? You guys eat eggs?”.She gasped and I nodded.

“Of course I do,everyone does”.I scoffed and turn back to the pot.

“That’s very wrong.Animals make them and all you do is eat their eggs,do you even know how they makes it? Eating the eggs of animals is like eating their child,you should stop it.Seriously, I feel so surprised you know,if you were to be in my kingdom and you ate an egg you will be killed”.She ranted and I frowned slightly.

“Belle,am not in that kingdom of yours so I can eat anything I like,okay? Besides,animals don’t need their eggs as much as we do.Eggs makes us more healthier and stronger,it isn’t a crime to eat it”.I stated and saw her ran her hand through her hair.

“Alright but still, am not gonna eat it.It might make me sick”.She said and blink her eyes.

“Fine! I would make you noodles then”.I said but she shook her head.

“No,I will make it myself.You shouldn’t bother yourself about it”.She smiled.

“Okay,pass the milk and butter to me”.I said and watched her hand it to me.

It was morning.I was done preparing breakfast and Belle and I were already dressed for work.We were eating..

“This is my second day working but still I haven’t made any friends”.Belle said and I stared at her.

“This is your second day not your last day,so don’t be bothered about it.You will soon get some friends”.I smiled.

“Yeah,I don’t even know why am concerned about it.I have you anyway and you have been more than a friend to me”.She beamed happily.

“Thanks Bel”.I said.

“So Lin, have always wanted to ask you something”.She said lowly.

“What Bel?”.I asked,noticing that her smile had dropped.

“Um…do you have a girlfriend? I mean you are handsome and charming,so you must have one,right?”.She said and I pushed back the tears in my eyes.Gosh! Those memories…it hurts whenever I remember them.

“I had one but we broke up.Her name is Samantha,she has the same height as yours, she is also beautiful but she left me three years old.We were still teenagers then,so it wasn’t hærd to forget our relationsh¡p”.I said with a sad smile.

Of course,it was hærd to forget our relationsh¡p..We were in the best relationsh¡p ever but she broke up with me when she found out my parents abandoned me.

“She is really foolish to leave you,you are the best person anyone would wish to have”.Belle said and tears rolled out of my eyes before I could stop them.

“It’s okay Lin,you don’t have to waste your tears on those who don’t value you”.She said and smiled a bit before wiping my tears away.

“Hi Lincoln”.Madeline said when she saw me walk into the restaurant.

I has esc-rted Belle to her workplace before coming to mine and now seeing Madeline talking to me is kind of surprising.She always talk to me when she wants me to do something for her or vise versa.

“Hi Madeline,is anything the matter?”.I asked but she shook her head.

“No,I just wanted to ask you something”.She said and I rolled my eyes.

I just hope she won’t ask me to go on a date with her cause my answer will always be ‘no’.

“Actually,my younger sister is holding a party.She just graduated from highschool and am inviting you to attend it since tomorrow is your off day”.She said and I gasped slightly.

Gosh! Tomorrow is my off day,how could I forget?

“Am sorry Madeline,I wouldn’t attend”.I said and saw tears rolling out of her eyes.

“You always refuse,you always do.Why are you treating me like a piece of rag,huh? Why?”.She sobbed and a few consumer in the restaurant stared at us.

“Madeline,am sorry,okay? But believe me when I say both of us can never be in a relationsh¡p”.I said lowly and she frowned.

“Why,huh? Why? What haven’t I done for you Lincoln? Why haven’t I done to make you like me but still,you proved stubborn”.She yelled and then everyone stared at us.

Great! Just great!

“Calm down,we can discuss outs..”.She cut me off sharply.

“Shut the hell up! Just shut your mouth and listen to what I want to say”.She said and I ruffled my hair looking frustrated.

“Why can’t you love me? I pray everyday for you to at least like me but no,that never happened.What is my mistake? Tell me!”.She continued sobbing,anger and sadness clouding her eyes.

“It isn’t my fault,okay? I love someone else”.I snapped.

“Lincoln,I must make you love me,I promise you!”.She shouted and then I heard some footsteps heading towards us.

I stared at the direction and my heart sank when I saw boss.It was him! Oh my Gosh!!

“What the hell is going on here?”.He roared and I felt my ear deafened.

🌀🌀BELLE POV

I had changed into the sale girls uniform which was a dull purplish shirt and dark skirt.I styled my almost messy hair in a loose ponytail as I stared at a corner.

“Hey! Come help me with the tin of tomatoes”.A short old lady said to me,her hands were trying to reach a tin can.

“Okay!”.I said as I walked to her,I was tall enough to reach the tin can and then i handed it to her.

She didn’t even say thanks,she just walked away. Hmm…rude!

I stared at other directions and a little boy about eight years old walked to me with a frown on his face making him look so ugly.

“Hey lady! Don’t just stand there like a tree and come help me with the toys”.He snorted and I couldn’t stop myself from frowning.

“Am really so sorry about that,he is so rude”.A lady said walking closer to me.

“It’s okay”.I scoffed and she turned to the boy before pulling his ears.

“Don’t you have manners,John? Must you always embarrass yourself?”.She said to him but the little boy pulled her hands away from his ears.

“Ah! Leave me alone”.He yelled and ran away.

“Please don’t mind him”.She said,turning back to me. “He is my nephew,John and am Samantha”.

I gasped loudly.Samantha??

“Am sorry Boss,we wouldn’t do that again”.I pleaded.

Madeline and I are in boss office now and I have been apologizing to him but Madeline haven’t said anything,she was just glaring at me.

“If this happens again,I won’t stop myself from firing you both and you Madeline,am highly disappointed in you.I heard you started the fight”.Boss said with a scowl on his face.

“Sorry sir”.She muttered.

“Anyway,you both are suspended for three days,any questions?”.He asked and I shook my head.

“No boss”.I said feeling so angry.

“Alright then,what are you guys still doing here? Leave my office!”.He snapped and we both walked out,glaring at each other.
