Trust is very fragile and once tampered with, it might never return to it’s original state. When a person trust you with all their heart and you break that trust, it might take them a lifetime before they can trust you again and this can ruin your relationsh¡p or friendsh¡p with that person; how much more if that person is your husband. Marriage is an institution that is built on trust so if that single trait is gone, your home will be void of the greatest essence of it’s existence. Breaking your partner’s trust by lying or being sneaky is one thing but cheating on your partner with their best friend is something that hurts deep down in the soul. Brace yourself for this tale because it is one of a kind. You ready? Let’s get right into it.
In a cozy and beautiful neighborhood lived a newly married couple that adored and loved each other so much; their names were Brandy and Tochi. They had been married for few months and were the typical ideal couple to anyone that were close to them. Tochi loved his wife and made sure she had everything she ever needed. Making her happy was his utmost priority and this was the same with Brandy too. She loved her husband and always went out of her way to make him happy.
By profession, Tochi was a senior banker while Brandy was a nurse. Due to the nature if their jobs, they were mostly never at home at the same time because Brandy had shifts that was either morning or night. While on the other hand, Tochi’s job usually kept him away till late at nights. He was the manager of his branch so that meant extra work and supervision for him.
The busy schedules of this lovely couple didn’t strain their marriage in anyway because they always found ways to administer to each other’s emotional needs whenever they could. Whenever they had their free times, they made sure to have fun and do things together. This deliberate efforts on their part helped their marriage a lot and covered any looph0les caused by their busy schedules.
As time went on, Tochi actually got to notice one interesting thing about his wife and it was nothing other than the fact that she crave for Intimacy more than he did. He was a tough rational guy while Brandy was tough too but highly emotional. Whenever they were free from work, she would be all over his body craving for intimacy and love. Being a good husband, he never slacked in fulfilling his marital bedroom duty as a man so his wife never feels neglected s€×ually. This wasn’t an issue at all in their marriage because they always found a way to go about it. However, everything went on perfectly fine for the lovely couple till a sad news came knocking one day.
“You have been transferred to our headquarters in Canada to supervise a new project that will take up to two years. Your travel doc-ments will be processed immediately you accept the offer and this means triple income. You have less than two weeks to stay here before leaving because its urgent” Tochi’s boss said to him one fateful Monday morning. What supposed to sound like a good news surprisingly sounded like a terrible one. Standing there confused, the only thing Tochi could say was “will provision be made for my wife to come with me too?”. However, he was hit with a sad reply by his boss; “No please, it’s only a two year project and you are the only one on our budget”. After saying that, his boss urged him to take his time to think about the decision and report back in three days. Afterwards, his boss walked away.
As Tochi sat in his office chair, he was sad and quite moody. That opportunity was a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity that could open more doors for him but there he was, thinking about turning the offer down just because he couldn’t see himself leaving his wife alone for two years. “But she can come and visit me, right? I can always buy her flight ticket to pay me a visit whenever she wants to. I can’t lose this opportunity to be seen by our international partners” he sadly thought to himself as he reviewed some doc-ments on his table. In as much as he wanted to immediately break the news to his wife on phone so as to get her reaction, he felt it was best he waited till he returned home for the day.
Just as Tochi was seated in his office with a moody countenance trying to get some work done, his best friend walked in. “Hey buddy, what’s up? I heard the good news; this calls for celebration” Mavin happily said. It only took few seconds before Mavin noticed his best friend’s sad facial expression. “What’s wrong? Or haven’t you heard the good news about your transfer to Canada yet?” Mavin inquired and Tochi sadly replied “Yes I have”.
They got talking for a while before Mavin found out why Tochi was moody. As a good friend, he tried to make Tochi see reasons why to never turn down the offer. “Guy, I understand you are looking out for your wife as a good husband that you are but also remember that this is just for two years and afterwards, you will be back with more money and higher ranks. I believe Brandy will never refuse you from taking such great opportunity of a lifetime. Talk about it with her and let me know what happens by tomorrow. I don’t want you to let this opportunity slide but I will definitely support any decision you make. Take it easy bro” Mavin said and walked away.
That tiny advice from Mavin was uplifting but Tochi still needed to have the conversation with Brandy before concluding finally on what to do. After work that day, he hurried home and luckily, Brandy had morning shift and was back home early. They ate dinner together, took their shower and retired to bed.
As Brandy laid on Tochi’s chest, he figured it was the perfect time to talk about his transfer. He began to slowly run his fingers through her hair as she laid on his chest. “Babe, I have something to talk to you about” he said, “ok babe, what’s it?” She replied and he paused for a while, then continued. “Babe I just got transferred to Canada for a big project that will take two years. I will be leaving in less than a month time and have just three days to decide if I want to take the offer or not. I asked if you could come along but my boss revealed they had budget for only me. This is a great opportunity and it comes with bigger income, incentives and exposure. I need it but if you don’t want me to take the offer, then I will happily decline tomorrow” he said.
Immediately Tochi was done talking, Brandy was lost in thoughts for a moment. She began to weigh the benefits and side effects of the offer and the benefits greatly outweighed the side-effects. The fact that she would be lonely without her husband was her greatest fault in the decision and it made her feel cold. However, that didn’t dispute the fact that she was happy for her husband’s win and was proud of him.
After about a minute of being mute, Brandy lifted up her face and looked into Tochi’s eyes. “Babe, do you truly want the opportunity?” She asked, “Yes babe, I do but you come first regardless” he replied. She smiled and said “then go for it, I will never stand in the way of you accomplishing great things and living your dreams. I will rather cheer you up and support you no matter how the situation doesn’t favour me. Your absence will be tough on me but I can always come visiting whenever I miss you so much. Accept the offer and go show them how great you are. I love you baby and will miss you so much but it will be worth it at the end. I will wait for you no matter how long it takes. I love you so much” Brandy said as tears dripped from her eyes.
Immediately Tochi saw the tears, his heart was moved and he hugged her tightly. He planted k-sses all over her face and held her very tight. “I love you more; thank you for supporting my dreams and career. I promise to wait for you too. This elevation is for us and I know it will be a great turn-around in our finances. Don’t worry about anything at all, I will take care of you and you won’t even notice that I am gone” he soberly said. They held each other tightly and gently dozed off.
The next day, Tochi accepted the offer and his travel doc-ments preparation began. In a week, his visa and other doc-ments were ready and the countdown officially began. The bank gave him one week leave to spend quality time with his wife before traveling. Brandy also requested for a one week leave from the hospital she worked at so she could spend some quality time with her husband before he leaves. All through that week, they bonded intimately, emotionally and physically. Everyday, they made love like never before and gave each other every single bit of their bodies. It was such a blissful time and they wished it lasted forever.
Sadly, the dreadful day of departure finally came and Brandy cried all through as she drove her husband to the airport. Mavin was already at the airport waiting for them to arrive so he can say his final ‘Goodbye’ to his best friend.
When Tochi and Brandy arrived, their faces lit up with happiness when they saw Mavin seated at the waiting section. They walked towards him and everyone was happy to see each other. “Bro I wish you all the best and will be here whenever you need me to do anything for you. Just go and make us proud” Mavin happily said. Tochi gave him a hug and whispered into his ears “please take care of my wife”. Mavin nodded codedly and said “You don’t have to worry about a single thing. We will be alright and here waiting for you”.
As everyone was soberly waiting for the departure announcement, the airport finally announced that it was time for the Canada flight to leave. Tochi gave Brandy one last hug and as he loosed his arms from her back, tears began to fall from her eyes. “Bye babe, I love you” were the last words from her mouth to him as he walked towards the departure entrance. Immediately he was out of sight, her heart shattered and she burst into tears.
Without hesitating, Mavin patted Brandy’s shoulders, held it and calmly said “Don’t cry anymore, I am here for you”.
