Danicaâs Pov:
âAnd this is your classroomâ the young pretty lady said as we stood in front of a big room.
OhâŠwow!
âUmâŠthank you, maâamâ I replied and gulped nervously.
G©sh! There were so many students in it. How do I go in?
âYouâre welcomeâ the lady said and left.
Oh boy! She was really leaving me alone. Geez!
I stared anxiously. There were pretty boys and girls in the class, all chit chatting. And they looked so classic. How do I fit in, huh?
MaybeâŠcoming to this school was a bad idea because IâŠdonât think I really fit in. I think my standards are too low.
Oh! Danica, whatâs wrong with me?
âAnd why are you just standing there like a road block?â I suddenly heard a voice ask and my heart skipped as I turned to have a look.
Oh! They were three girls. ButâŠthe one in the middle.
WaitâŠshe looked familiar.
âYou??â She shrieked, wearing a crumpled look.
Oh. Sheâs obviously recognized me. But where have I seen her before?
âWhatâre you doing?â She scoffed.
âYou know her, Bitna?â One of the girls with her asked.
OhâŠ.!! Bitna!
Now, I recognize her. The rude lady at the banquet.
âOf course, I do. This was the clumsy maid that spilled drink on my dress at the banquet, girls. The one I told you aboutâ she replied, so much hate in her eyes.
Oh, my! She schools here?
âWhatâs she doing here? And why does she have our uniform?â The third lady asked.
âIs she dumb?â Another snapped and I figured I had to say something.
G©sh.
âIâmâŠ.Iâm sorry, maâam. Sorry for what happened to your dress at the banquetâ I said with my gaze low. And she scoffed.
âAnd you really think I need your pathetic sorry? Just whatâre you doing here? Youâre a maid, right? How is it possible youâre with the uniform?â She scrawled.
âIâŠI was only a chef at the banquet, maâam. And about the uniform, I actually passed the scholarshÂĄp exams. So, IâŠ.â.
âWhat??â One of her friends shriek.
âA commonerâs gonna be in the same class with us?â
Oh God!
I gulped hĂŠrd and tried as much as possible not to stare at any of them. They were just too intimidating.
âWe need to go in. The mistress is comingâ the third lady whispered and I lifted my eyes to see a fat woman walking our way, some books in her hands.
I looked back at the Bitna and she was glaring at me.
G©sh! If only eyes could killâŠ
But whatâs her problem anyway?
âJust be careful to stay as far away from me as possibleâ she snapped and finally walked in with her crew â majestically.
I let out a deep breath as they did and at that time, the fat woman had gotten to where I was.
âHey; why are you just standing here?â She asked, her voice as grumpy as she looked.
âSorry, maâamâ I bowed a little and proceeded into the room
I guess her presence motivated me because I donât think Iâd have been able to walk in on my own.
Half of the students in the class turned their eyes to me as I walked in, timidly.
I quickly searched for an empty locker and found one in the middle.
The lady beside it glared at me, but I ignored her and took it anyway. I just needed a place to sit.
âGood morning, studentsâ
The fat woman who was already standing in front of the class said.
âGood morning, Mrs Hayoonâ few of the students mumbled.
The lady beside me was operating her phone while chewing her gum uglily. And since she was close to me, I was able to have a peep and my heart skipped when I noticed she was having a look at my bracelet.
Not my current bracelet, but the missing one. â the one Prince Nathan had put up on media.
Oh my! I almost forgot I was still wanted by the prince.
I quickly looked at my wrist and discovered the one grandma had given this morning to me, was carefully covered by my long sleeve.
Ah! Thank goodness the uniform was long sleeve.
âI was made to understand thereâs a new student in our midst todayâ the fat woman said and again, my heart skipped.
OhâŠno. Donât tell me sheâs referring to me.
âDanicaâŠ.Williamsââ she called out, looking into one of the books in front of her.
My eyes jumped to my mouth as everyone stared at me, like they actually knew I was the new student. Well, of course, I was probably the newest face in class.
âDanica Williams, can you stand on your feet, please?â She was called again, and I forced myself to stand.
I was so scared she was gonna ask me out for a proper introduction, but thankfully, she didnât.
âOkay. Welcome to Royal High. I wish you all the best and hope you enjoy your time here. You may have your seatâ she spoke so matter â of â factly and I loved that.
âThank you, maâamâ I bowed my head a little and took my seat.
Oops! That was so scary.
âSoâ, she continued and went over to the board with a marker.
And when she wrote the subject, that was when I realized she was the chemistry teacher.
âWeâll be going straight to org-nic chemistry today. And about my test, itâll be coming up in a few days from now.
âLike Iâve earlier said, youâll be paired up with partners, people youâd have to meet up and work with, to provide results, cause thatâs going to be part of the test. YouâŠ.â
âI wish I get paired up with Chijaâ I heard a lady giggle from behind.
âFoolish girl. You canât wish to get paired up with Prince Nathan. Youâre wasting it up on a nobodyâ someone who was obviously her seat mate replied her.
They were almost whispering.
âHuh? Are you kidding me? The prince hĂŠrdly attends classes. What makes you think heâd even get paired with anyone?â The first lady replied.
I listened with rapt attention, but they didnât say any other thing and I focused on the teacher
âIâm already working on the list and itâll be out in two days from now. So, get ready.
âAnd for today classesâŠ.â
She opened a big book in front of her.
âBring out your org-nic chemistry text book and turn to page 67â.
Everyone got busy as they started opening their bags.
I sighed and did same, grateful I had everything I needed in the school.
I brought out my text book and turned over to the instructed page and the woman commenced teaching.
The class was actually fun because org-nic chemistry was kind of my favorite.
I enjoyed every bit of it and when the woman was done, she rounded up with an assignment which was to be submitted the next morning.
Hmm.
We had two more classes after she left and when I checked the wall clock in the class,, it was few minutes to 11.
Oh. My text books.
I stood up immediately with my bag and left the class. I didnât want to default in anyway on my first day in school.
I still recalled the way to the principalâs office. And taking the stairs, I finally arrived.
Oh! Thank goodness. He was actually in at the moment.
I knocked lightly on the door and his deep voice ushered me in.
I pushed it open and walked in.
âGood morning, sirâ I greeted him, even if tho weâd already greeted some hours ago.
âOh! Miss Danica. Youâre here for the books, right?â He asked and I nodded with a light smile.
âPlease, come take a seatâ.
He was busy with his system as I walked in and took a seat, opposite him as usual.
His eyes didnât leave the system until he was done and stood up.
âIâll be right back. Need to get something important, alongside the book. Stay putâ he said and walked away, before Iâd even comprehend what he was saying.
Huh? He was leaving me all alone in the office? G©sh.
I sighed and fiddled with my nails as I waited.
Royal High.
Will I ever get to make a friend here? I meanâŠ.the students are too classy andâŠpompous. How do I blend in?
I thought silently for a long time after a while, I heard the door open from behind again.
Ahh!! Thank goodness , he was back.
But the walking steps were different, and I suspected it mustâve been someone else.
I swiftly turned to have a look and I swear, my heart stopped beating when I saw it was the prince.
My eyes drooped.
Oh my God!
No.
Prince NathanâŠ.!

Danicaâs Pov:
I felt my heart jump out of my chest as I stared at him â Prince Nathan â walking into the office, his face glum and his eyes, low.
I could clearly see his guards waiting outside the door.
Oh my God! Whatâs he doing here??? Is this a dream??
I couldnât stop myself from staring at him the wh0le time until he had gotten close and taken the seat next to mine. He didnât even bother to look at me.
âGâŠ.Good morning, my princeâ I forced myself to say, my heart racing so fast.
This was the same guy Iâd helped in the woods â the same guy looking for me. Gosh! What if he recognizes me?
âYeah, morningâ he replied with a sigh and sent his fingers into his dark glittering hair.
He looked so handsome and everything around him scre-med royalty.
He had two rings on a particular finger on his right hand, one on his index finger on his left hand. And he had a tiny sparkling ring on his right ear.
G©sh! With the way it glittered, I was pretty sure it was pure gold.
But thinking of itâŠ.this is the same guy thatâs looking for me!!!
The prince?!
âWhere did he go?â He glanced at me and asked and I instantly knew he was referring to the principal.
But.,..I was too dumbfounded to reply at once. I couldnât tell if I was being muddled by his voice or the question. He was actually talking to meâŠ!
âI..IâŠdonât know, my prince. But, I thinkâŠI donât know. But Iâm sure heâll be back soonâ I gulped nervously after the successful stuttering.
I swear, I felt all my body vibrate when the prince stared directly into my face, for a long time. Oh GodâŠno
âItâs youâŠâ He suddenly said and my heart stopped beating.
Oh goodness. Its me what??
My eyes were almost popping out, staring at him anxiously. My forehead was already sweating.
âYouâre the lady we had almost knocked down the other day, isnât it?â He asked and I let out the breath Iâd been holding, hoping he doesnât notice.
âYâŠYes, my prince. Its meâ I replied with a bow, my heart still racing fast from the previous fear.
Iâd expected him to turn away, but surprisingly, he continued staring keenly at me.
Oh goodness. Should I be surprised?
I heard him mutter something to himself before turning away , facing the table in front of him.
OkayâŠthat was so close. And scary too.
He brought his phones on the table and that was when I realized he actually had two phones. Wow!
One was an apple phone. And the other, I didnât know the brand.
He took the apple phone and started operating it, but the distance between our seats wouldnât let me have a peek.
I eyed his fingers as they moved on the phone, and they were so straight and neat. G©sh! Everything about this guy seemed almost perfect.
Immediately, the door opened and I turned to see it was the principal. Ah!! Thank goodness.
ButâŠsurprisingly, I found myself wishing he had delayed a little bit longer. PerhapsâŠ.admiring the prince was kinda fun to me.
G©sh! What am I even thinking?
âPrince Nathan. Youâre here?â He said as he walked from behind, upto the desk.
âObviouslyâ the prince just mumbled, his eyes not leaving his phone.
âMiss Danicaâ the principal called as he took his seat, in front of us. He had a book with him.
âHope I didnât take too long. Hereâs your bookâ he stretched the book out to me and I collected it gratefully.
âThank you,,sirâ,I replied and stood up.
âYouâre welcome,dear. Enjoy your dayâ.
I glanced at the prince who kept his eyes glued to his phone. And not knowing what I was expecting, I turned around and left.

Seriously, Iâm beginning to suspect the prince uses some sort of charm around him because I couldnât stop thinking about him as soon as I left the house.
His voice kept replaying in my head, his killer look, his cool scentâŠeverything. Although, that wasnât the first time I was being so close to him, but I just felt somethingâŠ.g©sh! I donât even know. ButâŠI couldnât stop thinking about him.
I guess, now I understand why most ladies love him more than his brothers. Seriously, Heâs at the top when it comes to charm.

The rest of the day at school â nothing big happened. Just classes and break time.
During break time (lunch), I just found a quiet place to sit because I wasnât having any money on me to treat myself.
I beguiled the quiet time by reading a book and thank goodness, nobody came to bully me again. I just felt so odd in the midst of these rich kids.
When lunch time was over, I returned to my classroom and after some more lectures, the school came to an end for the day.
Although, the principal had said a tour guide would be provided to me to show me round the school, I didnât see anyone.
*
I took a cab home with the last money I had and after a very long while, I got to my street.
I dropped from the cab and walked the rest of the distance home. And as I did, I couldnât stop thinking about the prince.
But thinking of itâŠthe prince was actually looking for me.
Me â Danica. What have I done to deserve that, huh? Being looked for by a charming prince like that?
Oh geez! If it wasnât for grandmaâŠ.
I smiled sheepishly to myself as I recalled our encounter at the office.
Although, our conversation had been very brief, but they meant a lot to me.
I could remember the first question he asked:
âWhere did he go?â
Oh.,âŠ.!
His voice still echoed in my head and left so many goosebumps.
Then, his second question:
âYouâre the lady we had almost knocked down the other day, isnât it?â
Oh!!!! How Iâd wished to tell him I was the same lady he was looking for.
Oh geez!! Danica.
I bit my nails in excitement and didnât even realize I had already gotten to the house. My eyes had been glued to the floor the wh0le time.
I smiled as I lifted my head but suddenly stopped walking when I saw something alarming in front of me.
Not somethingâŠbut someone.
I froze at my sâ±0t as my hands became feeble instantly, every calcus in my head spinning.
He was staring at me, his hands in his pockets.
And in a faint voice, I called out in shock:
âScott?â

Danicaâs Pov:
For the first time in a long time, I felt an old scar reopen. I felt hurt.
My hands became weak as I prayed silently it was a dream. Whatâs he doing here?
âDanicaâ he finally called, a stun smile on his face.
I remained frozen on the sâ±0t where I stood as he started walking towards me, his dark eyes not leaving my face.
âIâve been waiting for a long timeâ he said, now standing in front of me.
âThe door was locked.
I stared at him, so many questions to ask:
Whatâre you doing here? How did you know my current location? What do you want?
I was tempted to scre-m the numerous questions at him, but I just took in a deep breath and asked simply;
âWhatâre you doing here?â
Heaven knows I was trying so hĂŠrd to control my anger.
âReally?â He scoffed.
âThatâs the first thing you can say to me after so long?â
âDonât play games with me, Scott. What the hell are you doing here?? What do you want?? AndâŠ.how did you know I was here??â I was almost yelling at him.
He sighed and spoke more calmly.
âIâve been looking for you, Danicaâ his voice was a little low and pathetic.
âFor months now. I had gone to your formal place but they told meâŠ.â
âCut the crap, Scott. Iâm not interested. What do you want?â I asked irascibly and he sighed again and dipped his hand back into his trouser pockets.
âDanicaâŠ.â He called again, a glint of remorse in his eyes.
âI know Iâve hurt you so much; So much, its beyond forgiveness. But I want you to know Iâm truly sorry, Danica, for everything I did.
âFor the past few years, Iâve not been myself â rememberingâŠwhat happened between us. Iâm truly sorry, Danica. I was so stupid and foolish back then. But I want you to know Iâve changed. And Iâm here for good nowâ.
Immediately, I $lapped him. An angry stingy $lap, making sure it was hĂŠrd enough.
He tilted his face to the side, then looked back at me â slowly.
âYouâve changed?â I asked, trying as much as possible to prevent my voice from quivering.
âSeriously, Scott. Youâve changed?â I scoffed and shook my head.
âAnd how does your present change, change the past, Scott? How???
How does it fix all the damages youâve caused??â
âDanicaâŠâ
âYou used me and dumped me, all in the name of a worthless bet!!â I yelled at him, unable to hold the tears anymore.
âYou made me a laughing stock, turned me into a fool, Scott!! You ruined me!!!â.
âDanica, pleaseâŠ.â
âI trusted you, Scott!â I cried out.
âI gave you my dignity!! But in the end, what did you do?? You rubbed it in my face and made me look cheap!! Youâre a m©nster!!!â
Tears streaked my face as I never thought I could yell this way.
The memoriesâŠ.they hurt so bad. So bad.
I bent my head and wept profusely, and he was silent â probably eaten up by guilt.
âDanicaâŠâ He cooed and tried touching me, but I slapped his hand away.
âDonât ever touch me, Scottâ,I said sternly, my eyes already red.
âNo matter what, Iâll never forgive you. So, just stay away from meâ. And with that, I ran away, going far from the house to cry more.

Duriâs Pov:
âIs the King getting any better?â Mother asked as we sat together at the dining, eating bliasfully.
I had come to pay her a visit as usual in her secret house.
âHeâs not, mother. Itâs almost getting hurtâ I replied lowly, taking some wine
She sighed pathetically.
âOf course, it wouldâ she mumbled and I arched a brow at her.
âThe 12th disciple is the only cure he could get at the moment. And I wish I had a single idea where she could beâ.
âButâŠ.isnât there a little hint? Anything at all that could help?â I asked and she stared down at the table for a while, in thought.
âWell, one sure fact is this â each disciple had a mark on their wa-ists according to their numbers. So, definitely, the 12th disciple would also have a mark on her wa-ist â with the number 12â she said and I nodded in acknowledgement.
She continued:
âThe 12th discipleâŠ.â
She squirked her brows.
âIâm trying to figure out the little I can remember her. There has to be somethingâŠ.â
I sipped from my wine again while I watched her face keenly. And suddenly, she gasped, her eyes beaming at me.
âSonâ she called with, ecstatic.
âI think I know a way you can find the 12th discipleâ.
